Margret felt this kid was trying to mess with her but at the same time she couldn't help agree with him. Unfortunately or fortunately, Robert didn't try to hide his voice at all. With most of the crowd now whispering about Margret, all the kids heard him.
The rich young master's expression quickly darkened and looked over. Originally planning to say something but quickly shutting up when he saw Margret. His eyes flickered in thought, he recognised Margret but was still looking at Robert with a displeased look.
The skinny kid noticed the rich boy not speaking and must have taken that as his cue. "What did you say you little brat. Don't you know who this is? Maybe if you get down on your knees and apologise you will be forgiven."
At first, all Robert could do was look at them dumbfounded and blink. Were these guys reading from a script, this must be a rehearsed play right. Maybe the Pokémon centre had organised a street show that he didn't know about.
"What, too scared to talk now, huh. Where did all your courage from before go." After the skinny kid said this Robert actually did back up a couple of steps and looked at Margret pitifully. Margret frowned a little at Roberts reaction. She didn't believe for a second Robert was scared, so what was with this reaction.
"Miss Margret we should quickly go. At first, I just thought they were a little dumb and just putting on a show for everyone, but I was wrong" Robert looked over at the three kids, now all looking furious. "They are clearly brain-damaged to say such ridiculous things and believe them. Look, even their faces are starting to change colour. What if they have some disease that makes them stupid, lets go before we catch it."
The more Robert talked the darker the three kids' faces got. The rich leaders face had even started to go red from rage near the end. Margret was also having a hard time, she could barely stifle her laughter back, she had an image she was trying to keep up here! Damn imp, she wasn't even his target, and she was still suffering.
The kids from the other group however had long started laughing. If not for their Pokémon still being injured and dampening their mood, they would have probably long been in tears and rolling on the ground.
Hearing the laughter from the other group the three boys became even angrier. "How dare you mock us like that. I'd challenge you to a battle, but you don't look like you could be a trainer. Even if you were I doubt you would be worth our time. We have all been accepted into the Junior League, do you even know what that is." As he said this the skinny kid returned to his previous attitude with that same sneer on his face.
In response all Robert did was blink at the boy before looking back at Margret, "you see, I clearly have Pokéball's on my belt, but he is still talking all that rubbish. There must be something wrong with his head. We should hurry and go before he starts infecting us." The boy was once again enraged but now he didn't know how to respond. Everything he said seemed to get turned around into insulting himself.
"Enough nonsense, just go over there and defeat him and be done with it already." Margret finally couldn't take it anymore, how could this imp say all that with such an innocent face. Like he was genuinely concerned that he might catch some disease.
"Sigh, fine. Party pooper. I guess I've had my fun." Robert had a disappointed look as he said this as if Margret took away his toy. Margret couldn't stop her face from twitching a little. This damn imp. Robert then looked at the other kids with the injured Pokémon, "why haven't any of you gone into the Pokémon centre to get you're Pokémon healed yet."
Mariah also looked over with a frown. Indeed, all their Pokémon had been injured in battle and should have been taken into the centre to be healed long ago. Why were they all foolishly standing out here? Margret then looked over to a corner of the crowd where some men and women were trying not to stand out but were different from the rest of the crowd.
There were four of them and when they noticed Margret looking at them they immediately looked away nervously. Margret snorted a little seeing this. She recognised them as inspectors sent to check children for the Junior League.
The boy with the Growlithe gritted his teeth and answered, "all of us passed to get into the Junior League, but when the four behind me arrived at the Pokémon centre these three jumped out saying they weren't worthy and challenged them. Eventually, they were defeated. After they lost they tried to go into the Pokémon centre to heal their Pokémon but they were blocked outside. Saying that since they lost they had to wait till tomorrow after the worthy trainers left for the Junior League."
By this point, Roberts's face had already become a bit cold. Originally, he thought that the others were a bit slow and wanted to remind them to get their Pokémon healed. He didn't think it was because of these three clowns blocking entry to the Pokémon centre! Robert looked at the three much more coldly now.
"It was then that I arrived. After I heard about the situation I demanded they move aside and let these four heal their Pokémon. Then the one with the Rhyhorn said he would let them all in if I could beat him, but I lost. Now I'm also stuck outside and can't get my Growlithe treated."
Hearing till here Robert looked at the three with a cold smile, "so you three idiots are even stupider than I thought. Alright, you were squawking about a battle earlier. Let's have a battle."
"Hmph, don't try to back out and run away after it starts." The skinny kid was all too happy to hear this. He finely had a chance to teach this ignorant kid a lesson. He didn't notice that behind him the leader of their little group didn't look angry at all anymore and was looking at Robert with a solemn stare.
His name was Richard Caishen, he could tell something seemed different about the boy now. Even after hearing they had defeated five other trainers heading for the Junior League, he didn't look nervous at all. What Margret said earlier also bothered him. His family had a lot of influence in Kanto and Johto, they had been given pictures and a little information of all the most notable instructors.
Even among those this woman, Margret Chromium, stood out from the rest as powerful and difficult to deal with. Yet here she was, escorting some unknown kid. This was why despite his fury he had refrained from acting himself and let his lacky do it.
When she spoke earlier she sounded confident that this boy could win. it seemed that the thought of him losing hadn't even occurred to her
"Alright kid, let's see if you can handle my Beedrill"
"A Beedrill huh. That works out pretty well. After all, I did say it was your turn next." As Robert muttered to himself, he reached for a Pokéball on his belt and grinned.
And finely today's chapter.
