After Emperor Vanish visited lady Summer's quarter that morning, Emperor Vanish was in a good mood. Marian had tried to reject him for fear of being found out but seeing that the Emperor looked angry, she had swallowed the rejection and let him have his way.

She was scared that her behaviour would make the Emperor suspect her, after all, he had been married to lady Summer for so long, they even had a child together even if he did not survive.
