~~~(POV: Nella Opal)~~~
~~~(Location: The Jedi Temple, Coruscant)~~~
Satele, Eassa, and I all watch from a distance as Nate and Theron talk. Don't misunderstand me. I'm totally curious about what they could be talking about. But I know there are some things that I shouldn't be nosy about. This is one of them.
Well, it's not like I'm a nosy person, to begin with. I just care about the people close to me, and I want to know what's going on with them. Big and small. But I can't always have that.
"What do you think they're talking about, Satele?"
I've taken notice of how Eassa refers to Grandmaster Satele Shan by her first name. I don't know how close they are, but I sense a bond. Probably formed from the loss of Nate at the time.
I can sense Satele's strong motherly feelings for the two men in the distance. She deeply misses Theron, and she wishes for a better relationship with both Nate and Theron. I wouldn't normally be able to sense this. She's vulnerable right now. So it's understandable.
"I wish I knew, Eassa... It's not my place to interfere in either of their lives... But I sense something from Theron. It worries me. I've been trying to contact him, but he avoids me. The same could be said for Nate..."
Jedi and Sith are the most powerful beings in the galaxy. Able to do things that normal people couldn't dream of doing.
Eassa has powerful emotions running through her as well. They're all directed at Nate, though. Two accomplished Jedi shouldn't be letting their masks down. But I suppose it's okay, given what they're watching. I couldn't relate, so I shouldn't judge them.
"For all the power of The Force at the fingertips of us Force Sensitives, we make terrible friends, parents, and lovers..."
There is a conflict within both of them as Eassa voices her own thoughts on the scene. They sure do like to make things complicated. Maybe, there is no perfect way to learn The Force.
Nate said that there was once a great Sith. He never said his name. But Nate told me the Sith in question said the Jedi and Sith misunderstand the fundamental nature of The Force.
That it is conflict.
My Master said the Sith who said this was a wise man. One who sees The Force differently from everyone. I'm inclined to agree with Nate, and whoever this Sith is. The Force manifests its conflict through us. The living people of the galaxy.
"Do you guys ever wonder what the galaxy would look like without The Force?"
My question is far off the topic of what they're thinking about. I'm on the notion that getting their minds off it will help them. They both turn their heads and look at me strangely.
"You certainly are Nathens family. Also, a good student. That's something Nate would've asked when he was younger. He would annoy the Masters as the temple with his never-ending questions."
Eassa is the one to respond, but I sense a deep guilt in Satele. I couldn't possibly know what it was or is. But I do know that it's something to do with Nate. Eassa gets places her hand on my shoulder and turns me to look at her.
"I'm not wise or old enough to answer that, Nella. But I do know where I wouldn't be if not for The Force."
She need not say more... It's an interesting thought to have... Does The Force do more harm than good? Are we better off without it? Or do we never reach this point without The Force?
Nate would give me answers I wouldn't understand.
I turn my head back to Nate and Theron in the distance. Nate hands him something, but I can't make it out from here. Soon, they part ways, and Theron heads back to his ship. Nate stays there until Theron has already left.
"What do you think we'll find in the temple?"
Eassa asks Satele this question since she was here before the fall of the temple. Nate and Eassa didn't grow up here as Satele did. It's not long before Nate is back with us.
"I don't know, Eassa. I'm expecting Imperial traps... Maybe some Sith as well. This is a place of great pain for our people... The Sith revel in it."
The answer is lined with a sense of sorrow and regret. But I watch her steel herself. It's not long before we're making our way inside.
