บท 46: Chapter 46: Trial of battle (IV)
Shido looked at Present Mic and asked him,"When do we start?"
After a few seconds, Present Mic replied with a smile,"You are looking forward to it?" Without waiting for Shido to reply, he continued in a hyperactive tone of voice,"We will start in ten minutes. In the meantime, we have to fix everything for the test."
Hearing ten minutes, Shido summoned his broom and sat on it.
Present Mic looked at it curiously and asked,"So this is your quirk? The one that can transform things?"
"This is part of my quirk." Shido emphasised on the 'part' and nodded in reply to his second question, but did not continue from there.
Seeing that he did not want to continue talking Present Mic fell silent as well.
In this way, after exactly ten minutes, a hoarse and robust voice came close to the bus,"Ahaha, from this moment, you heroes don't dare to approach, or hostages will start to have holes in their heads." The voice finished the sentence with a growl.
Just then, another voice said,"Hey, Hound Dog, don't you think you're overdoing it?" Soon after, however, the communication ended.
Shido was full of smiles. They acted their part very well, so it was up to him and Yoshinon to do the same. Thus, he approached where she heard the voice and found a note with the test specifications written on it.
In one of the skyscrapers in the city, five villains with two hostages have hidden, and his job was to save them and if possible, defeat the villains without killing them.
But the situation became complicated here. These villains could be on any floor of any skyscrapers in the entire city, and from what he saw, he would take an entire day to comb through the entire city, even after using Aleph on himself. There were tens of skyscrapers, and countless floors where the villains could possibly be.
But to Shido, these worries were not worries. What he was more interested in was what he should show the audience. Should he show everything? Or limit himself to one or two? And if so, which weapon should he use?
[A/N: At this point, I'm still going to call it weapons since Shido doesn't know that they are 'Angels']
After some time of thinking, Shido raised his right hand with a smile and said out loud,"Zafkiel, come to me."
With these words, an ancient clock appeared behind her while a flintlock pistol and a flintlock musket appeared in his left and right hands respectively.
[A/N: I'm not gonna keep describing the clock. I'm sure you guys know by now. And in case I wasn't clear, he doesn't need his astral dress to use his angels, but having his astral dress would make him stronger. But he wouldn't know this at this point in time.]
At this point, his hair was tied in a ponytail, fully revealing his left eye which had been hidden until now.

Just before this happened, in a room, with the remaining teachers who did not participate in the test, they gathered inside this room, observing several screens that transmit what is happening on the field. All the teachers were intent on observing what new weapons Shido would summon, and how well he would fare against 5 pro heroes simultaneously.
From the time he debuted until now, he had never fought against another pro hero apart from All Might, and even their battle was kept secret for obvious purposes. Thus, no one knew his actual combat capabilities, but they didn't doubt his efficiency as a pro hero even if they had never seen him fought before.
[A/N: All his hero duty has been solved by shadow manipulation to save hostages, transformation to save victims under dangerous places, and hypnosis to arrest villains.]
When Shido got up to look at the note containing the note, everyone started to pay more attention. This means that from this precise moment, the test began.
In fact, when Shido raised his hand, a hero exclaimed,"He is going to do something!". This reaction was normal. Under the boy's quirk was written as 'weapon summoning'. So far he had revealed two weapons, three if Yoshinon was counted.
Seeing an ancient clock appear behind Shido, all the heroes made a surprised voice. He had summoned a broom and a piano. But summoning a clock? That was a first. In fact, only a selected few knew about his clock, namely All Might and those who were in that meeting.
Furthermore, his 'quirk' was considered special even amongst a quirk-orientated society. Usually, quirks were connected to their body, or in any case, they are 'skills' that work through the body. Like explosions from palms, growing an extra harm or eye, or in Endeavor's case, his flames are a particular skill that goes out from his body.
A quirk that works outside of one's body and not connected to it was something innovative. It probably would never be seen if not for Shido's appearance.
Luckily, Shido did not know that an astral dress existed, otherwise Present Mic would probably have screamed out,"Magical Boy!"
It's not everyday a person could see what a rank 0 hero could offer, so everybody paid close attention to his actions and quirk.

Yoshinon raised himself up and pointed the flintlock pistol he was currently holding in the direction of the Roman number 5.
"Hei." As soon as Shido spoke, some sort of black 'smoke' appeared from the number and entered the pistol.
Then, Shido aimed the gun at his own temple and pulled the trigger, firing a shot, which made a loud 'bang' in the surroundings.
The heroes who were observing Shido's actions became terrified. They couldn't believe that Shido made this kind of gesture, but then, realising that nothing bad had happened, they calmed down and continued watching.
Shido, on the contrary, smiled after using 'Hei' on himself. He saw a vision where the villains were positioned, and thus, looking in front of him, he looked precisely at the nearby skyscraper, only a few hundred metres away from him.
""Found you..."" Yoshinon and Shido said simultaneously. Shido and Yoshinon were connected together on a spiritual level. What happened to Shido would happen to him as well and in this case, Yoshinon also saw the future, or what would be the future if hadn't seen it.
Subsequently, he started to make a small run arriving directly below the skyscraper. Through Hei, he saw that the enemies were located on the seventh floor, so he did what he did best.
He directly flew up and attempted to crash into the window on the seventh floor. However, plans often don't go the way you want them to. A large wall of cement suddenly rose up in front of Shido, essentially blocking the entrance he planned to enter by.
"Awww...I really don't want to summon this, but to make my life easier...and to let them have more sneak peeks...Camael."
The ancient clock had already disappeared along with the two guns, and in its place, a large red halberd appeared in Shido's right hand.
This halberd would have looked like any other halberd if it wasn't coloured in a very deep shade of red and surrounded by blazing hot flames.
Shido aimed his halberd at the wall of cement and slashed down. The flames were hot enough for the cement to melt , opening a pathway for him. However, as soon as the gap appeared, the cement closed itself once again, repairing the gap.
Shido wasn't discouraged.
"Cannon mode: Megiddo."
The halberd was dismantled and within seconds, was reformed into the shape of a cannon.
"30% flame."
Swirling flames that were surrounding Shido entered the cannon through the nuzzle.
Ken Ishiyama, more commonly known as Cementoss, was slightly shocked at the initial impact of the halberd, but was confident that it could not slice through the thick wall of cement. However, after seeing this cannon, which packed more power, he shuddered.
He quickly thickened the wall, condensing and adding more cement into it, making it much thicker, durable and tougher.
But his effort was for naught.
BOOOOM!!
The cannon shot out a huge swirling ball of flame which, upon impact, exploded the cement into fragments. No matter how hard Cementoss tried to reassemble his wall, the flames that were present on it kept burning and melting the cement, not allowing him to repair the wall.
"Sigh, kids nowadays are too powerful. Never mind, I'll let him enter first. They should have moved and prepared already." Cementoss sighed and shook his head when he saw enter through the seventh floor's window.
Shido arrived on the seventh floor and saw no one.
"Hm? Did they move?"
"It seems they did. Let's find out their new location. Zafkiel! Hei."
Once again, a gun shot rang out and Shido found their new location. Without any hesitation, he started to climb the stairs, but at that moment, his instincts rang out, and he immediately gave himself a push with the foot to go back downstairs.
Now, in Shido's place, there was a very large man who had scruffy blond hair sticking straight out behind his head. He also wore a muzzle over his slightly pointed snout. HIs posture was all bent, with a punch in the ground and at that precise point, the cement had hollowed out, leaving a hole in it. Moreover, cracks have spread too.
Shido looked at him with slight caution. Although he wasn't as fast or strong as All Might, he could be considered top tier in terms of strength and speed. At least, no one else he knew personally could reach his level. Destroying reinforced concrete with a punch was not something everybody could do.
But Shido wasn't lazing around as well. As soon as he backed off, he immediately arrived in front of the villain and tried kicking him before he could get up. Still, the latter, sensing the blow incoming, got up immediately and caught Shido's foot with his hand.
Shido's legs weren't very long since he was just ten, so the villain could easily return a punch towards his abdomen.
Shido immediately bent backwards while his right leg still caught in the villain's hand, and aimed his other leg to kick his nose. Ryo Inui, also known as Hound Dog, was forced to let go of his hand and block the other kick that was aimed at his weak point, his sensitive snout.
However, once Hound Dog had released his foot, he immediately retracted his legs and backed off five meters away.
"Ahaha, I would not have imagined that you would have been able to find this place so quickly. At least Cementoss had done his job in stalling you for awhile." Hound Dog rubbed his palms while ending his sentences with growls.
Shido stopped as well and said with a smile,"Thanks for your compliments! It's a hero's job to find information after all!"
Hound Dog looked at him with a deadpan expression. He was a scout and attack hero, and used his nose to sniff out villains most of the time. But even he would not be able to find it this easily.
He sighed at the unfairness in the world, but after a few seconds, he looked at Shido with a more menacing look.
"Beyond here, you will not pass." He growled, and then launched towards Shido again, with a punch in front of his body. Shido could feel the strength of this punch through the friction of the air that surrounded the fist.
She decided to move to the side to dodge the punch that was incoming, but just at that moment, a leg sweep hit him on his side.
Feeling the blow, Shido furrowed his eyebrows. The strike was slightly painful, but comparing it to All Might's punch, it was not to the level where it was unbearable. Driven by the force behind the kick, Shido flew away.
He immediately turned around, trying to mitigate his acceleration. Then, with his legs on the wall to brake completely, he landed on the ground safely.
Seeing how SHido remained standing after taking his full blow with almost all his strength, the hero said in an admirable tone,"Oh?"
It wasn't everyday that he met someone who could resist his blow without batting an eyelid at that.
Shido looked at his opponent in front of him with even more attention. That hit made him understand his opponent's physical qualities.
Not to mention the fact that most of Shido's quirks are made primarily with the intention to kill, destroy, ruin and twist reality, the remaining support abilities she could use was through Zafkiel which consumes time, Yoshinon who can freeze them without killing them, Gabriel and Haniel.
Normally, Shido wouldn't think of using precious time for a mere test, but even if time was precious for Shido, it certainly isn't limited as he had 'devoured' many gangs beforehand.
After blocking the strong kick, he backed away once more, turned and gave himself a sprint with his maximum strength, disappearing from the sight of the hero who, in the meantime, stood still since he didn't expect that Shido ran away.
So, Hound Dog, after a couple of seconds, immediately followed Shido.
In this way, from the seventh floor where he was, Shido arrived on the ground floor and then, with a push, returned to the second floor.
Shido noticed the noise behind him, meaning that the hero started to chase him, so he went back inside, trying to outrun him, and then directly through the stairs, reaching the sixth floor.
Just at that precise moment, Shido immediately brought his body backwards. In front of him now, a closed hand popped up, forming a fist which would have hit him if he hadn't stopped in time.
Seeing the punch, Shido was amazed at the fact that he reached him so quickly without any sound or noise. If All Might was in his position, there would probably be a bunch of 'smash!' yells everywhere.
He had already known about Hound Dog's quirk, and it was based on something like a dog, allowing him to have a great sense of smell and a great ability and efficiency in tracking people down.
He never expected to leave him behind, making him lose his tracks. For this reason, Shido had tried to outrun him with speed, so as to quickly get to the top floor, grab the two hostages without the other four heroes noticing in time and run. This would also separate the villains so that he could beat them more easily.
This plan could have worked. The hero now located outside the building meant that they had confidence in their abilities, but now that Shido thought about it, he understood how silly he had been.
"You underestimated them." Yoshinon's voice rang out.
"Yep! Well, it's time for a change in plans. If I can't separate them all, I'll just beat them together."
Immediately after he spoke, a voice came from the eighth floor, the same voice that she heard outside before the communication ended just before the test..
"Oh? Quite a fair bit of confidence you've got there. Did Hound Dog fail to knock you down? I'm surprised."
Looking above him, he noticed a very tall man, with a bulky, muscular body. The man wore a dark red skin-tight suit with a very low U-shaped collar.
Together with him was another man with a tan cloak that covers most of his body, the area over his torso, and the high collar resembling that of a double-breasted trench coat. Underneath that, he wore a skin-tight black bodysuit with a golden striped neck area and a matching black helmet that covered his entire head, a jaw-guard attached over his nose and around his jaw, and circular mufflers.
"Vlad King and Ectoplasm..."
