Capítulo 64: Chapter 63
Fiona again let her mind drown into that same subconscious world that she had gone into when she was underwater, she again started feeling the same bubbles of consciousness around her. Only this time there were some really big and complex ones there too, she had linked the intensity of the consciousness with the size of the creature, but where did all these animals come from, then she realized with great surprise that these were the consciousness of all the half-breeds, could she possibly control actual people? she wondered shocked. She tried to touch one of these consciousnesses but her mind recoiled back in the sudden burst of sensations, it was like her brain had just been split apart and then put back together, she decided to stay away from them for now, instead, she focuses her attention upwards, high in the sky, it took some time but she soon found two perfect bubbles for her to take over.
She opened her eyes through the bodies she had possessed and found herself looking down on the whole city, she lunged downward where they were, her speed was very fast, she saw herself standing in the corner her eyes white, and Ron was standing near using his bow, his aim had gotten much better he wasn't missing a single shot, and she saw with surprise his arrows had suddenly started flying back to him, their tips glowing.
Fiona focused on helping herself she sent both of the large falcons she had taken over to help two bunny girls who were running from a barbarian soldier, the two falcons swept down on his face and clawed out his eyes, Fiona could feel the consciousness of the falcons too, their thoughts were not descriptive because they didn't have a language to communicate with, but she could feel their emotions and they could feel her intent.
She only suggested them who to attack next but they were the ones who knew how to best use their claws as they had done before.
The half-breeds in the square were overburdened by the difference in numbers, Dean along with Yanos and the others were having a hard time getting their feet together, this had been like that since from the start, they didn't even know completely where in the city they were right now, but then suddenly something happened and they started pushing back, Dean caught glances of flying arrows that were moving very unnaturally and falcons falling from the sky.
Then a barbarian soldier fell in front of him with an arrow sticking out of his brain, which then rotated in the head and flew out of the other end and into the sky.
Shouts rang out from somewhere.
"Dean!" Lufius came running."There are civilians in that building, come with me, then we have to go to the castle to save the king, " he shouted.
"What about here?" asked Dean.
"We are doing fine here, come on, " he shouted and he followed the wolf when he reached higher ground, he looked around at the scene, the barbarians were slowly dying and their numbers decreasing, he looked around and then he saw, a young boy and a girl, standing at the front of a small street in the corner, the boy was the one who was shooting arrows, and the girl was standing still her eyes white as the sky.
Then he saw a barbarian soldier lurking behind them, he had spotted them too and was planning to kill the boy from the back. Dean changed direction and letting his beast take over, he crouched on all fours and ran.
He reached them just in time. Ron saw the approaching half-breed and looked afraid for a second, he couldn't shoot the guy either, he must have thought they were the enemies, but then the half-breed jumped over him and he turned back in time to see him attack a barbarian who was planning to attack him.
The brown-furred half-breed tore into the man and killed him, he stood up, his claws retracted and he looked a bit more human now, as he looked at them.
"Thanks for that, " said Ron.
"Who are you?" he asked.
"We came to help, we are humans, I mean they are too, but we are from the human kingdom, " said Ron.
"They are not humans, " said the half-breed coming forward and extending a hand and Ron shook it.
"Dean,I don't know what you are doing here, are there more of you?" he asked.
"Ron, and just five, well four, Rin is actually from here," he said.
"Where are they?" he asked.
"Oh they went towards the castle, they are more powerful than us, they went with actually one of your guys, I think his name was James, " said Ron.
"And is she a human too, she doesn't look like it, " said Dean.
"Yeah, she is, that's just her powers, mom said she might have a little druid blood in her, " said Ron.
"Druid huh? Didn't expect this day to get weirder, but we appreciate all the help we can get, some of us are going to that building there are civilians in there your arrows could come in handy," said Dean.
"I have to watch her back, " Ron said.
"I'll ask one of my friends to look after her," said Dean.
"Yanos! look after this human girl, for me, " shouted Dean, and then a big bear came out of nowhere, seven feet tall and all transformed.
"Yanos is one of those who are much useful and fully transformed, but his control is exceptional, " said Dean.
"Who are these humans?" the bear asked swatting aside a running barbarian who flew feet away and slammed into a wall.
"She is the one controlling the falcons, they are on our side, keep her safe, " said Dean.
"Coming then?" asked Dean and Ron nodded and followed him.
It was a three-story building, with two entrances, and a half dozen half-breeds were standing below it, Dean ran up to Lufius.
Ron saw the wolf look at him.
"Is this one with the arrows?" asked Lufius.
"Yeah, he is here to help, what's the situation?" asked Dean.
"We think there are some mages up in there, they have been throwing spells from the windows ever since the battle started, and we can't barge in because they have civilians as prisoners, " said Lufius.
"Well I expected something like that, that's why I brought this guy, " said Dean slapping Ron on the back and pushing him forward.
Ron felt like he was in class and he had just been thrown in front of a teacher to perform a sword technique.
"What can you do?" asked the wolf.
"I can distract them with my arrows while you guys enter the building, I can't aim without looking but It will surprise them and keep them occupied for some seconds at least, " said Ron.
"That's all we need, " said Lufius, and they got near both the entrances.
Ron aimed three arrows upward at once, he fired them and then controlling metal he changed their direction and entered them inside the windows, there was suddenly shocked noise from inside, Dean and the others were already inside, and Ron kept the arrows flying inside as long as they had momentum and kept them high near the ceiling to not accidentally hit any civilian, it was hard work controlling more than one arrow at once, his brain had been on overdrive for a while and he knew when this was all done it would be hurting for days but he couldn't back down in a situation like this.
The noises became quieter and he let the arrows come back.
The others came out a while back.
"We saved them, " said Dean.
"Let's use this building as another safe house, take the rest of the civilians in there too, " said Lufius coming out.
"Let's head to the castle then, " said Dean.
