Before the attack, Payon POV
It is another normal day in Payon, close to the gates there is a man named Matthew commander of the Payon guards, the village is mostly peaceful, the only important thing that happened a while ago was the arrival of a stranger in the city.
'Since the day that he go to the forest that is always full of monsters and managed to return alive with his companions everything changed, we didn't know what he did in the forest, but since that time the monsters have stopped attacking Payon, there are still attacks but nothing to do with the attacks we received in the past... In addition to the fact that today is a very important day, today is...' Matthew thinks, but before being able to continue he listens one of the guards of the bridge
"Man, is it time for lunch yet?" the guard complained.
"You're hungry already? We only ate breakfast a hour ago." the guard next to him answer.
"What're you punks doin'! Whinin' about lunch when you got guard duty!!" Matthew hit both of them. "The last straw for your youngsters, you can't take anythin', even if you didn't eat anythin' you should..."
*Growl...*
"Uh... Heh heh... Keep your eyes open. Lady Iris's party is goin' off without a hitch or it's on you two" Matthew was so worried about what would happen today that he even forgot to eat something, 'Even so I'm not complainin' like you two!'
""YES, SIR!!"" both guards responded.
*KBOOOMM!!*
They don't even finish talking when an explosion occurs on the barrier protecting Payon, and not only that, hundreds of Rune Cards are flying everywhere hitting the barrier from multiple places, sending ripples across it.
'This is dangerous, my instinct has always saved me and right now it wants me to get out of here... Between the attacks I can see a kind of vortex in front of the bridge that connects the village.' Mattew thinks.
"This can't be happening! Nothin' can break the tribuna's Magic Shield! " They are using hundreds of cards to overload the shield! The problem is that we don't know where they are attacking us from!
"Something's coming through!! It's a portal! A huge portal!!" The soldiers start to scream, although it's not like they needed to be told since everyone can see how from the portal a hand with long claws is reaching out, opening the portal wider and wider until it is big enough for the monsters on the other side to pass through....
"Sound the alarm! We are under attack!! We need to buy time... at least we need to buy enough time for the village to be evacuated." Matthew star thinking what to do
'Frost Giants! From Jotunheim! But they's all supposed to be dead! Been a thousand years since dey been seen!! To think that today I will die here, at least I wanted to be able to congratulate Lady Iris in person, Chaos I leave her in your hands, I hope you remember the promise we made.' Matthew without being able to think anymore, decides to accept his fate, he is the city commander and he will not back down.
"Hold you Ground! We's the only thing Betwewn 'dem and Payon!" Matthew yells to the other guards.
The giants finally fall to the ground from the portal making the earth tremble, one of them opens its shoulder plate, it opens like a mouth and inside it they can see that it has several eyes that begin to light up, shooting a ray of magic towards the wall. Destroying the barrier and part of the wall, killing all those who were in the way of the attack....
'I don't have to doubt, the giants are powerful but not invincible, but first I need everyone in their positions....'
"Rak'im!! You goota warn Lord Irine!! Squads 1 2 and 3 to da left!! Squad 4---!" However, Matthew can't finish giving instructions when a woman's voice interrupts him.
"You waste your time Matthew." He don't know where the voice comes from but she is calling him directly using his name... " You Struggle in Vain! No matter how many there are of you, the end will be the same! You might as well accept you fate. You are nothing more that ants beneath my feet to be squashed... a Fate you justly deserve!"
On top of one of the giants there is a woman standing, she is a blonde woman with brown skin, her suit only consists of two pieces, a kind of tank top and a thong, although her dress that looks like a kimono that have some pieces of fabric that more or less work as a skirt.
"It can't be! You can't be Here!! You're dead!!!!" Matthew seeing the woman simply goes into denial, not wanting to believe what she is seeing, the woman just smiles when she sees him like this, while the giants begin to walk towards the wall
"OPEN ALL GUN PORTS! READY THE CANNONS! HURRY DAMMIT!!!" Matthew yells, and secret compartments begin to open from the walls from where cannons come out and they are not ancient cannons, they seem to be even more modern than normal artillery cannons, their tips begin to gather magic.
"Cannons ready!!" A soldier inside the wall yells.
"Don't hold back! We gotta stop them here! Now! FIRE! DESTROY'em ALL!" Then all the cannons start to launch laser beams towards the approaching giants, almost all of the shots manage to hit the giants and immediately a cloud of mist rises up, preventing them from seeing the result of the attack they carried out.
"Hoohooh! Did you see those giants when the guns hit them? Big bad giants, not so though after a few dozen holes in ya eh!??" One of the guards stands on top of the wall and starts yelling towards where the giants are, laughing like crazy, as his companions try pull him down from the wall.
'Nothing should have survived that barrage, but she was with them, and with her power...." Matthew continues to ponder... then the mist begins to lift
"It cannot be! we hit them! we hit'em full on!! They ain't even scratched!!'" To the horror of Matthew and the rest of the guards, the giants appear again without a single scratch, one of them uses his claws to attack the place where the guard was laughing, killing the dozens of people there.
Among the survivors of the giant's attack some guards used their spears to attack the giants, shouting names of their fallen comrades and before Matthew can stop them they rush at the giants, who only begin to grab them in their hands and crush or throw them at them to the other guards, and for a few moments only the screams of pain are heard on the wall and the sound and rumble of the giants walking towards the wall.
"N-no, nothin' can stop them! the cannons our weapons, nothing!! We are all gonna die DIE!!" One of the guards can't take it anymore and starts to cry, although it must be admitted, even when he was plunged into despair, he never left his post and even knowing that he couldn't do anything, he moved his spear to attack the giant hand that approached him.
And from the sky the blonde woman watches this and smiles. It is not known at what moment she moved from the giant's shoulder, but now she is just floating in the sky, watching as hundreds of human lives are finished by just 4 ice giants that are attacking Payon.
"Beg, beg for mercy... but it won't do any good. Justice has finally come to Payon... and the sentence is DEATH!!!" She begins to speak, with a mocking tone, showing her happiness at seeing the city being destroyed, but her face and gaze are different with eyes without any emotion, as if she doesn't really recognize anything that is happening. Although in the end she manages to control her strange emotions again and sets the giants out to massacre the city.
One of the giants obeying her throws himself over the wall trying to enter the city, while the rest just stand there enjoying the way all the Normans in the area look at them. But he doesn't make it past the wall when he is thrown back by an attack, which easily overwhelms the giant's defenses and is practically splinted in two.
"No more... hmmm... not quite a clean shot I'm a little out of practice... My apologies for being late, my friends." A man wearing a warrior robe with dark glasses and with a scar on his left eye appears, massaging his wrist as he continues walking towards the wall, although once he arrives you can see how the rest of the soldiers and guards calm down a bit.
Behind him a young woman in a very revealing leotard comes walking looking at all the wounded in the area and showing surprise at what the man has just done. The woman in the sky just watches him silently, but little by little her face that showed indifference now shows only hatred towards that man.
"Lord Irine!! Forgive me I failed...." Matthew immediately addresses the man who has just arrived, the most powerful man in the city, the leader of Payon.
"The fault isn't yours, Matthew, this is too great a foe. Against the giants, no one could have done more. Now though it's time to take the battle back to them!" Immediately recovering the morale of everyone present, the guards once again prepare to fight. "You've finally come back... Sarah Irine..." The man can only murmur at the end. After that Lord Irine orders all the wounded to be removed from the front and to prepare to use the cannons again.
"Matthew!! Escort Lady Iris to safety, guard her Well! I need to face the Valkyrie alone... after all she is my own daughter." After Lord Irine spoke, everyone in the place stopped for a moment, trying to understand what their leader was saying... Matthew by his side apparently had already recognized the woman, so he quickly takes the woman named Lady Iris who came with Lord Irine and begins to try to take her from the place.
"Your Daughter...? No... Your executioner. You have no idea how much I have yearned for this!! No idea how many times I pictured our reunion!! Do you remember that night? Do you remember 12 years ago? I relive it every day!" The Valkyrie Sarah Irine begins to speak calmly, clearly showing how upset she is at being here. But no matter how upset she sounds, her face reflects nothing, though her movements are like a broken toy, stiff and mechanical...
"How could I forget you, my own daughter?" Lord Irine speaks again, but this time clearly annoyed the Valkyrie who quickly unleashes her power, breaking the dark glasses that Lord Irine was wearing, finally revealing her eyes, which simply gaze at her supposed daughter with a murderous desire.
"Here, Father a little reunion present for me!!" Immediately from her hands she begins to create a sphere of electricity that she launches towards Lord Irine.
"Spirits of the Ether, Elementals of the Heavens! Create for me a Shield of Air against this fiery death! Shield of Brighid!" Quickly Lord Irine begins to make movements with his hands, increasing his power creating an air shield that stopped the Valkyrie's attack, even so Lord Irine had to make an effort to stop it.
"You cast that too quickly, you had it prepared all the time!" The Valkyrie sneers and continues to watch Lord Irine preparing for whatever she decides to do, as the dust and smoke around him begins to clear.
"I always knew in my heart that you would one day return... Sarah, it's my life you seek. There is no reason to involve innocents."
"Innocent? There are no innocents... they chase after me, hunting me like a beast... and you where leading them with a smile in your face and the blood of my mother in your blade... Murderers!" The moment she stops speaking, something changes in the Valkyrie and her face is consumed by rage, although her eyes simply show confusion and fear, although it doesn't take long for all that to change to an excessive hatred against everything in front of her. "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! I'll destroy everything!!"
"Sarah! NO!" The Valkyrie once again unleashes her power, but this time it's uncontrollably, starting to launch magical attacks everywhere, some even hitting the ice giants, although the attacks they receive only pass through them, so they again begin to attack the wall again, seeing that Sarah Irine lost control.

Leonhard POV.
I followed the Rune Knight towards the southern exit of Payon, although I must say the amount of attacks coming from there is incredible, not to mention the enormous magical power I felt, but well it's not like I couldn't do something like that too. .. I have to figure out how to do it like in Bleach so I can cast my magic/spiritual/thing pressure whenever I want, so many experiments and too little time...
This place truly looks like a war zone, bodies everywhere, Ice Titans attacking the walls, a blonde woman fighting a Star Gladiator... I had completely forgotten about the expansion Jobs! As I see in my system I can change the job to Taekdown now, I would only need Gunslinger and Ninja as I remember... since I can't find the Super Novice Job anywhere.
The Rune Knight arrived at the bridge and quickly runs towards a red haired girl, who shortly after wakes up and starts asking about her father... after that the Warlock chick arrives too...
"There is no time for talk, we have got to get away, none of us are strong enough to take on that Valkyrie!" Quickly the Warlock tells them, hmmm so a Valkyrie? Will it be like Randgris? I think it would be good to try to get the Valkyrie armor as I remember they are indestructible...

While I'm thinking, their conversation continues, and I'm getting a lot of interesting information, like there are 12 very powerful Valkyries active and all that, although it seems the other two aren't paying attention to Warlock, the red haired girl worrying more about saving other people... well at least only the girl, the Rune Knight clearly knows that no one should be left alive after that big magical explosion. Hmm? Apparently someone is coming... a blonde thief huh... and from what I see he brings a huge amount of gold an other objects. The others already noticed her too.
The girl stops in front of them somewhat nervously and with the most adorable face and voice she can make, she begins to talk to them as if everything were normal, which could work if it weren't for the amount of treasures she carries in her backpack, many of which are even shining in the sunlight... plus it brings a strange cat with two tails... how interesting.
After that both women begin to argue again, the res haired leotard girl named Iris Irine begins to argue that she will not leave since this place is her home, and her family and people need her and the whole thing... it's really admirable but to tell the truth. ..I think it's better to have the strength to do it first since she's only a level 44 Soul Linker... the Warlock woman named Fenris Fenrir is the strongest here, level 100 and Chaos the Rune Knight is level 95, the blonde thief girl called Lidia who just arrived is only level 15...
