OR SLAUGHTERHOUSE (SPANISH) RISEN (FRENCH); Matadero Risqué
Set in a slightly different world in the 1850s, reality faced a short circuit, and out of nowhere, another civilisation manifested right next to the Earth. With both sides anxious about the weapons the other poses, the humans and inhabitants of the additional planet — dubbing themselves the Kuu in human English — agreed to create a border separating them both.
But once a few Kuu escape and discover that humans are edible, humanity fights back, finding out the same in return. Now with a thriving economy bent on eating the other side, mercenaries across the globe begin finding ways to bring back humans and Kuu into their hometown; butchering them not just for food, but trophies.

Out of all the stories on this platform, this one might just be the most special. Really interested in how it turns out. I know the first chapter right now is pretty vague, but after reading the synopsis and how David talks with a few people on the train, I got kinda invested in the worldbuilding. I think the character design needs some work (to be fair, hardly anyone on the platform heavily describes their protagonist in the first chapter), but aside from that, this is really interesting.
The story is pretty interesting. I got here mostly because of the cover and synopsis (I wanted to give this book a try). The fact that this is the author’s first story is amazing considering the creativity.
