The sword emitted an impressive power, radiating a glowing red light and intense heat. Nathaniel, who had transformed into Archangel Gabriel, gazed at the attackers with a courageous and determined look.

"With the power bestowed upon me, I shall fight this darkness," he proclaimed with a resounding voice that echoed in the air. Then Nathaniel launched an attack on the rank 8 wizard.

While Nathaniel battled the rank 8 wizard, one of the teachers asked a fellow wizard at the academy, "What kind of magic is Nathaniel using? It seems different from the magic I know."

The wizard replied, "It's a combination of two rank 9 magics. The ancient fire magic belonging to the founder of Agnia Land, rank 9 Primal Fire - Agnia Flame, and the forbidden rank 9 light magic, Divine Arrival - Angel Form."

"How is that possible? From what I've heard, Nathaniel is only a rank 7 wizard in Terramore Continent. How can he use rank 9 magic, let alone two of them, and combine them?! This is insane! Is he a monster?" the astonished teacher exclaimed.

"Actually, Nathaniel is a hero. Due to resource limitations and his unwillingness to become a hero, he has only become a candidate," explained the academy wizard to the teacher.

Back to the battle, the rank 8 wizard felt that Nathaniel was different than before and had become stronger. The wizard shouted, "Even if I have to die, I will send you all to hell!"

Then he began chanting a spell with a loud and hateful voice, "In the haunting darkness, cursed souls are bound. Emerging terror, raging destruction. With immeasurable vengeance, I summon uncontrollable power. Nihilus Demolition!"

The chant reverberated throughout the academy, filling the air with an eerie darkness. When the evil wizard swung his magic wand towards the sky, a massive explosion occurred. But before he was destroyed, he released a distress signal. His body trembled, then exploded with devastating force. Waves of dark energy emanated from his body, quickly spreading throughout the academy.

The explosion triggered the emergence of a thick toxic fog that enveloped the academy's sky. The fog emitted a suffocating scent, filling the air with a dangerous poison that threatened anyone affected by it. Visibility became extremely limited, and the academy wizards had to struggle against enemies in darkness and poisonous fog that endangered their lives.

The deadly darkness magic not only inflicted physical damage but also had a haunting psychological impact. Screams and cries echoed from within the fog, depicting the fear and suffering experienced by the academy wizards.

Seeing his enemy commit suicide, Nathaniel was confused and shocked. He tried to process what had just happened and comprehend the tragic actions of his foe. The decision to end his own life in such a way puzzled Nathaniel.

Then, he realized that after the explosion of the toxic fog spread throughout the academy, Nathaniel quickly shouted,

"With the power I possess, banish evil from this place and illuminate it with your light, Angelic Purification!"

Soon after, a fireball appeared behind Nathaniel and burst into fragments, illuminating the entire academy. The toxic fog that shrouded the academy slowly disappeared. After the fog vanished, Nathaniel smiled, but his face quickly turned serious.

However, he felt the presence of three individuals with great power behind him.

"Kid, you may be strong, but there are three of us," one of them said. The person speaking was a young man with long hair tied back.

Then Nathaniel noticed the other two individuals. One was a young woman wearing a black cloak that covered her entire body, and the other posed a significant threat to him. That person also wore a black cloak that concealed their body and face. Although obscured, they possessed a stronger power than the other two.

Nathaniel, despite being taken aback, did not retreat and shouted at them,

"You daring members of the Moon Star faction to attack us, only death awaits you!"

Then, Nathaniel began to attack the three of them.

"Old man, stay here quietly. Let the two of us face him," the young man said.

"Be careful, he has reached the peak of rank 9 with a trace of divine power within him. He should have reached the Demi-God level," said the person in the black cloak.

"Fascinating, I will test the strength of this Demi-God myself," said the woman. The three of them then initiated the battle.

Meanwhile, as a result of the explosion that destroyed all the buildings in the academy, the students in the library were affected. The library was in ruins, and several students were trapped under the rubble.

Grey also felt the impact and was buried under the debris, but due to his physical training, he was not severely injured. After emerging from the pile of rubble, he immediately searched for Fai. Eventually, he found Fai buried among the debris of the buildings. Grey quickly freed Fai from the pile of rubble and saw that Fai was in a critical condition.

Grey tried to wake Fai up while searching for healing teams. Fai, barely conscious, looked at Grey being carried by him and said, "Grey, you must... become stronger... so that you can protect... what you're supposed to protect..." Fai smiled, despite being in a critical condition.

Grey panicked upon hearing this. "No, Fai, don't leave me. Please hold on, Fai!"

"Grey... I'm glad to have met you..." Fai said. He then closed his eyes and became lifeless in Grey's arms. Seeing Fai in that state, Grey felt a profound loss and screamed, "FAI!"

"You!!!!"

In his anger, Grey felt a surge of immense power from within him, but the power seemed fearful and retreated back into Grey's body. Then, something within him flowed and gave him calmness, and he heard a mysterious voice in his head.

"Rise."

Shortly after, Grey felt a tremendous power emerging from within him, unlike anything he had experienced before. He quickly stood up, released the embrace on Fai, and placed his body on the ground before advancing towards the enemies.

Every step Grey took made him feel a transformation within his body. He saw that his body was now enveloped in light, and there was no pain from the light, only warmth he felt.

After that, Grey felt the entire world resonating with him, and he felt as if he were a god. With firm steps, Grey moved forward, his body radiating with the shining light. He felt a powerful energy flowing within him, giving him confidence and strength he had never experienced before.

Grey finally arrived at the battlefield, and the person who had remained silent in the black robe finally spoke.

"There is a stronger power within him," the person said, their expression changing as they looked at Grey.

Nathaniel, seeing Grey's presence, was surprised and immediately shouted, "What are you doing here, kid? Go away, this place is dangerous!"

However, Grey ignored Nathaniel's words and underwent a transformation.

After the transformation, Grey wore a clean white robe that emitted a bright holy aura. White light illuminated around his body, gathered in his hands, and transformed into a shining golden sword. The sword shone with glory, vibrated with fiery spirit, as if it had a soul of its own. Grey then shouted firmly, "By my command, lock my enemies. Region Lock!"

Region Lock was a divine-level magic spell that allowed Grey to activate an extraordinary ability, which was to lock the space within a designated area. By using this power, he could immobilize or block all movements within the specified region, stopping the attacks or abilities of enemies.

Suddenly, the four of them stood still in their positions, transfixed and amazed as they looked at Grey. Grey shouted again, "You have done what you shouldn't have done. Space Collapse!"

In an instant, the space around the attackers shattered, and a whirlwind appeared, pulling the three of them into it. The person in the black robe immediately exclaimed, "Be careful not to be sucked into the rift, or you'll die!"

The three attackers panicked upon hearing the warning. The person in the black robe then shouted, "Teleportation!" In an instant, they disappeared from that place, and the space around them returned to normal. After that, Grey fainted due to exhaustion.

Nathaniel, still shocked to see Grey unconscious, quickly lifted him and brought him back to the medical team for the necessary treatment. As they left, Nathaniel felt tired and lost consciousness, the surrounding power fading along with his awareness.

Meanwhile, the attackers in the academy who witnessed their leaders retreat from the battle were surprised and influenced by the situation. They also decided to withdraw, realizing that this battle had caused significant damage to both sides. Buildings were destroyed, the ground was torn apart, and the resounding magical energy left traces of destruction around them. Aware of the power and skills they were facing, they chose to temporarily retreat, recover, and contemplate the next strategy.
