Capítulo 35: Chapter 36: Show Him

After Grams passed away, I really leaned on Silas and Liz. If it weren’t for them, I would have completely fallen apart. The first night, I thought I wanted to stay in the cottage, but mentally, I just couldn’t handle it.

Silas noticed my obvious tension and talked me into leaving. Of course, I tried to be tough and argue that I was fine, but he finally persuaded me. He and I returned to his place, and that was how I spent the remainder of that weekend.

The following Monday, Liz and Silas went with me to make the funeral arrangements. God knows I couldn’t go alone. I took the week off from school and work, and thankfully, both completely understood.

It wasn’t feasible that I could just suck it up and go back to classes. Not only did this give me time to make the arrangements, but it also gave me time to truly grieve. Silas took time off to help and be there for me. Of course, I insisted he return to class, but he was not one to argue with.
