I shrugged. “I think it might be better to keep a distance from each other.”

He moved with deliberation as he placed himself in front of me and the look in his eyes kept me in place. Both his hands caressed my face, and his thumbs brushed my cheeks gently. I'm shocked by the touch, yet somehow it calmed my racing heartbeat.

“Can you do that?” he murmured and shook his head. “Because I don’t know if I can.”
