Of course, Cohen was injured.
That special bullet wasn't easy to dodge.
Although his body couldn't react in time, his highly focused mind quickly activated his ability: Dragon's Breath: Explosive Energy.
His physical abilities doubled, surpassing human limits.
Among them, his defense reached 40. While he couldn't fully block the bullet, it greatly reduced the tearing force of the spiral bullet.
Additionally, with his superhuman body, he managed to move a small distance at the last moment, so the bullet only caused a penetrating injury.
It didn't hit any vital organs.
Ignoring the pain, Cohen reached the front desk and opened the two newly obtained black iron gift packs.
They granted him 4 points of free attribute points, all of which were added to his constitution.
After days of experimentation, he knew that his recovery ability, explosive power, poison resistance, and disease resistance—all related to his constitution—were vital.
Thanks to the attribute points and their healing effect, while the wound wasn't fully healed, it had recovered significantly.
This didn't affect his combat ability.
The Jumper and Scorpion, two arrogant bastards, were out of luck.
When they closed in, Cohen once again activated Explosive Energy and successfully countered.
Because the battle was quick, there was still some Dragon's Breath left in him.
From a distance, on the rooftop of a building,
Hawkeye Barton witnessed the entire fight.
This exhilarating battle made him itch to join in, especially with the performance of the "Demon Face" Cohen, which made him want to spar.
His bow was drawn and then lowered, but he couldn't help but complain to Coulson:
"Coulson, what's going on! The director ordered us to capture Demon Face, but why won't you let me join the fight?"
Coulson, observing the battlefield, put down the binoculars after hearing Barton's complaint.
"Barton, it's not that I don't want you to fight, but I'm waiting for the right moment. Otherwise, you'll just cause trouble."
Hawkeye raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean?"
"There's an animal in Africa called the honey badger. Though it's small, once you provoke it, it will never stop retaliating."
Hawkeye frowned.
"You mean he's the honey badger of New York?"
Coulson shook his head.
"I only said his personality is like a honey badger, not his strength. To me, he's at least a lion."
Hawkeye paused, then nodded slowly.
"So, how are we supposed to complete the mission? The director said to capture him."
"The director never said it had to be tonight. We need to plan carefully. Tonight's too rushed."
Hawkeye nodded.
"I understand. Do we need to withdraw now?"
"No, this is a good chance to learn more about his abilities."
---
In front of the office building, Mr. X hid around a corner.
"Maya, are you sure we should keep going with the mission? If Demon Face insists on staying behind the front desk, it will be hard to force him out."
Maya's voice echoed in his earpiece, panting as if she was running.
"I'm almost at the new position. Once I get there, we can form a long-range attack combo. If we can suppress him, the gunmen nearby can use rocket launchers to destroy the front desk. At that point, he'll have no place to escape!"
Mr. X smiled bitterly.
"In reality… he could escape to the stairwell beside the front desk and get inside the building. At that point, we can't risk entering to search for him. Tonight's ambush is almost a failure."
There was silence on Maya's end.
After a while, her voice came through again.
"Then let's gamble. The distance from the front desk to the stairwell is his life-or-death line!"
Mr. X exhaled.
"Alright, let's gamble and see if he can escape."
---
Far away, Coulson and Hawkeye saw several figures with rocket launchers stealthily approaching the office building.
They knew that the final test for Demon Face was about to begin.
Coulson muttered as he watched through the binoculars.
"Looks like next time I see the director, I'll have to suggest he pay attention to the military arms flooding New York."
Behind the front desk, Cohen saw them through his infrared vision, but he didn't panic.
He even smirked, his eyes filled with menace.
There was a lifeless body in front of him.
He chuckled. "I guess no one noticed that I'm about the same size as Scorpion."
"Boom!"
"Boom!"
Two RPGs accurately hit the front desk of the office building.
The granite platform instantly collapsed by more than half.
Amid the heavy smoke, a green figure flashed out like lightning!
Mr. X reacted first, shooting two bullets from tricky angles toward the figure's heart.
After firing, he realized what he was facing.
It was Scorpion's armor… No, it was Demon Face in Scorpion's armor!
"Fuck, how could I forget this!"
Cohen had been prepared.
He concentrated, focusing on the sniper rifle and curved bullets in the distance. As for other attacks, he chose to take them head-on!
The Scorpion's outfit was a carefully designed combat suit, with protection reaching US military level six for critical areas.
The moment to counterattack had arrived.
As long as he dealt with the one shooting the curved bullets, the sniper's threat would be less significant!
As Cohen leaped out, gunfire erupted around him.
Those who knew it was New York would think it was an Afghan battlefield.
With two Glock handguns, fire blazed from the muzzles.
Cohen's expert pistol skills had deadly accuracy, and after two magazines, the gunmen were left dead or severely wounded, their assault slowed.
But they weren't Cohen's focus.
In his perception, the first to come was six sniper bullets.
Cold, fast, and unstoppable.
He rolled on the ground, dodging continuously.
Just then, a few curved bullets followed.
Cohen's eyes flashed, and he silently thought, the remaining Dragon's Breath activated again!
His speed shot forward, almost leaving an afterimage.
Mr. X, hiding around the corner, was stunned by what he saw.
He didn't have time to think. His body entered a strange state, adrenaline pouring in, and he stepped forward, directly exposing himself to Cohen's sight, whipping his right arm with the gun!
Hammer rounds bounced, firing pin exploded, and bullets flew!
He stepped forward and swung his arm like a strange dance, but only those who understood knew it was a dance of death!
Cohen felt the bullets weave into a complex web, heading straight for him.
His lips curled into a slight smile, his leg muscles contracting furiously, the force making his bones creak!
In the next moment, he jumped high like an antelope, and the bullets whizzed beneath his feet.
And then, like a hawk pouncing on a prey, he lunged at Mr. X!
"Bang!"
Mr. X reacted fast, retracting his arm to trade blows with Cohen.
But immediately afterward, his body was struck by immense force and sent flying, crashing to the ground.
Cohen followed closely, stamping down hard.
Mr. X screamed in agony, losing all resistance.
Cohen lifted him, then turned toward the sniper's position.
Far away on a high-rise, there was a black dot.
A flash of light, and he blocked Mr. X with his body.
"Bang!"
Blood splattered on the ground.
After throwing Mr. X's lifeless body to the ground, Cohen looked up, but the black dot had vanished.
Running fast, huh?
You can run today, but can you run tomorrow?
I'll be waiting, Kingpin!
