Capítulo 38: Chapter 38: Web of Secrets and Schemes

**Another Realm:**

In a distant realm where reality twisted and magic flowed freely, a woman draped in green admired the ethereal constructs she had conjured. The image was of a man, his body sculpted with perfection, his face exuding power and nobility. "Oh Odinson," she sighed, her voice tinged with longing. "Look at that majestic body of yours. You truly are a God like no other, a warrior, and a charming prince...my love, why don't you accept me and become mine? I love you with my whole heart...why are you so cruel to me?"

This was Lady Enchantress, one of the greatest sorceresses and witches of the Nine Realms, obsessed with the God of Thunder, Prince of Asgard, and rightful heir to the throne, Thor Odinson. Her Guardian Executioner, a hulking figure of unwavering loyalty, watched her antics with a mix of affection and resignation. He loved Lady Enchantress, but not in a way that sought her romantic attention. His love was like that of an elder brother or a devoted guardian. He too believed that if there was a man worthy of his lady, it was Thor Odinson. However, he knew love could not be forced. Yet, for his mistress, all bounds could be broken.

As they indulged in Enchantress's lovesick musings, a voice interrupted their solitude. "How about you make him yours? Wouldn't that be great?"

Enchantress and Executioner turned to see a strikingly beautiful woman in dark green attire, a black coat, and a golden crown with two prominent golden horns. She wielded a gold staff with a mysterious stone embedded in it. This was the Goddess of Mischief, the Great Sorceress of Asgard, the Princess of Asgard, the Master of the World Serpent, Loki Odindottir—Lady Loki.

Loki's lips curled into a sly smile. "Lady Enchantress, I can help you accomplish what you want. Make that foolish brother of mine yours forever."

Enchantress's interest was piqued. Anything concerning Thor intrigued her. "And what do you require, princess? I'm not a fool to believe you would help me for free."

Loki feigned a wounded expression. "Oh, Enchantress, you break my heart. Don't you think I would act as a good sister who wants a lovely partner for my brother?"

Enchantress, slightly annoyed, retorted, "Don't play games with me, Goddess of Mischief. I, you, and the entire Nine Realms know you don't give two f**ks about your brother and what happens in his life."

Loki's smile widened. "True, true. But I need your help for a plan of mine involving Midgard."

Enchantress's confusion grew. "And what's in it for me? Why should this concern me?"

Loki stepped closer, her voice lowering. "You see, my brother has developed quite an attachment to Midgard. He spends most of his time there now and has gained a lot of popularity."

Enchantress scoffed. "Of course, he is a mighty warrior, a God. Those mortals may as well lick his feet just to be blessed by his presence."

Loki's eyes gleamed with cunning. "Indeed, he has quite a charm. This has led to him gaining many followers, companions, friends, and..." She paused, leaning in closer to Enchantress. "A lover."

Enchantress's eyes widened in rage, and she lashed out at Loki with magical force. "How dare you say such preposterous things, Princess! If you weren't his sister, I would have had your head."

Loki laughed, unfazed by the attack. "Calm down, Lady Enchantress. Your anger could melt all of Jötunheim. Save it for later. I swear upon my magic that I speak the truth."

Enchantress halted. Swearing upon one's magic was a sacred vow among sorcerers and sorceresses. "I believe you, Lady Loki. Tell me what must be done."

Loki's smile turned sinister, and the Executioner couldn't shake the bad feeling growing within him.

### **A Secret Facility:**

In a hidden laboratory, deep within a secret facility, Nick Fury and Maria Hill stood before a massive reactor-like machine. They were attempting to harness energy from a cube-like object—an artifact of immense power.

Dr. Erik Selvig, the leading scientist on the project, approached them with a concerned expression. "Director Fury, we still haven't been able to harvest energy from the Tesseract. Perhaps if we could have the fusion reactor or advanced arc reactor from Mr. Parker, it would be possible."

Fury, knowing the strained relationship with Peter, replied, "Sorry, Dr. Selvig, but that's not possible. If you need anything else, I can make it happen, but this is out of the question. Please reconsider your request."

Dr. Selvig's frustration was palpable. "Then call Mr. Parker here so he can help us with this. If you can't use his technology, you shouldn't be making such a machine and using that thing for vast amounts of energy. Mr. Parker's fusion reactor already powers almost the whole of New York."

Fury's temper flared. "Dr. Selvig, this is a project of not just national but international importance. Nothing is done illegally here. Are you saying you and your team of scientists are less capable than a 19-year-old kid?"

Dr. Selvig's response was unyielding. "That 19-year-old kid is Peter Benjamin Parker. He has created two of the world's most powerful reactors that can power entire states, technologies that reform geographical, environmental, medical, and military issues. The weapons he makes, if in the hands of terrorists, could lead to World War III. So, yes, if it's him, then my team and I are nothing."

Fury was left speechless. He couldn't argue with the truth. Cursing Peter in his mind for being too good, he finally said, "Dr. Selvig, are you willing to step down from this research then?"

Dr. Selvig gritted his teeth. "No."

"Then continue your work," Fury ordered, turning away.

Maria Hill, who had been silent, finally spoke up. "You know, Dr. Selvig wasn't wrong. Peter is just too good."

Fury sighed. "Not now, Maria. I know. That kid... he's come a long way."

Maria smiled. "Yeah, he sure has."

### **Back in New York:**

As Spider-Man swung through the city, his thoughts still conflicted, his Spider-Sense flared once more. He landed on another rooftop, looking down to see the Defenders still locked in battle with Bullseye and the remaining thugs and assassins.

Peter took a deep breath and dove back into the fray. He punched through a group of thugs, using his webs to disarm and incapacitate them. Bullseye, seeing Spider-Man's return, growled in frustration. "Back for more, spider?"

Peter didn't bother with a witty retort this time. He moved with precision, landing a series of rapid punches and kicks, disorienting Bullseye. The Defenders watched as Spider-Man effortlessly took down their foes.

Jessica Jones, panting from the exertion, called out, "Thanks for the assist, Spider-Man. We appreciate it."

Spider-Man, still not in the mood for conversation, simply nodded and turned to leave. But Luke Cage's voice stopped him. "Wait, Spider-Man. We need to talk."

Peter paused, his patience wearing thin. "What is it now?"

Danny Rand, stepping forward, said, "We know we screwed up. We want to make things right. Please, just hear us out."

Peter's eyes narrowed behind his mask. "Fine. You've got two minutes. Go."

Luke Cage spoke first. "We're sorry, man. We should have been there for you. We should have had your back."

Jessica Jones added, "We've all made mistakes. We want to make amends."

Peter's voice was cold. "You think saying sorry is enough? You all left me when I needed you. Do you have any idea what that felt like?"

Elektra, her eyes sincere, said, "We know we failed you. But we want to make it right. Please, give us a chance."

Peter crossed his arms, his demeanor still icy. "Forgiving isn't easy. But I guess I can try. Except for Daredevil."

The Defenders looked confused. Jessica asked, "Why not Daredevil?"

Peter's voice was harsh. "Ask him yourself."

All eyes turned to Daredevil, who was sweating under his mask. He hesitated, and Peter's patience wore thin. "Tell them, or I will. And trust me, when I say it, it'll be worse."

Daredevil took a deep breath and finally spoke. "I... I slept with Black Cat when she was in a relationship with Peter."

The revelation hung in the air like a dark cloud. The Defenders looked at Daredevil with shock and disappointment.

Jessica Jones was the first to speak. "You did what?"

Luke Cage shook his head in disbelief. "Man, that's low. Even for you."

Iron Fist, his expression one of disgust, added, "How could you do that to a friend?"

Elektra, visibly affected, stepped back. "You cheated on me with her too, didn't you? How could you, Matt?"

Daredevil couldn't meet their eyes. "I... I'm sorry. I made a mistake."

Peter, barely containing his anger, said, "A good friend would never do that. When the whole world thought you were crazy for saying Wilson Fisk was the Kingpin, I stood by you. I took all the criticism, I proved you right. And this is how you repay me?"

Jessica looked at Peter, her eyes filled with regret. "We're so sorry, Spider-Man. You didn't deserve this."

Peter took a deep breath, forcing himself to remain calm. "I'm done here. I've forgiven the rest of you, but not him."

Peter turned to leave, but not before saying, "This is goodbye."

Internal Conflict:

Swinging away from the scene, Peter couldn't shake the emotions swirling within him.

His personalities chimed in, offering their own perspectives.

Ben Tennyson tried to console him. "You did the right thing, Peter. They needed to hear the truth."

Jason Todd's voice was stern. "But don't let this consume you. You've got more important things to focus on."

Natsu, ever the fighter, said. "You did what you had to. Keep moving forward."

Issei Hyoudou added. "You're stronger than this, Peter. Don't let it drag you down."

Garou's tone was firm. "You can't change the past, but you can shape the future."

Toji Fushiguro's voice was practical. "Use this as a lesson. Trust is fragile."

Goku, optimistic as ever, said. "You'll find a way to heal, Peter. Just give it time."

Peter sighed, feeling the weight of their words. "I don't know if I can forgive him. Maybe one day, but not now."

As he swung through the city, he couldn't help but think about the complexities of friendship, trust, and forgiveness. The night was far from over, and the path ahead was still uncertain.
