Capítulo 163: 155. Tower of Fate
(A/N: just to let you know that I haven't dropped)
Vegeta finished off the big whale and continued on his way towards the centre of the Land of Grief to get to the Tower. A Guardian coming to greet them means that they were on the right track and quite close to the tower.
He travelled for a bit and happened upon a tower that looked unremarkable from all sides if you don't consider that it was in the middle of a sea of Lava and was towering up to where you couldn't see the end of it.
Vegeta surveyed the surroundings a bit and landed at the small patch of Land in front of the tower. As soon as he landed, he felt like someone beckoning to him. The voice was enchanting and if not for his Occlumency, he would've been bewitched and started to go into the Tower without any control.
Vegeta grew vary of the sound and felt that it had some mysterious energy in that Energy. It was neither KI, Mana or Divine Energy. He upped the shields in his mind and looked to the side and saw Kratos standing there blankly while caressing the air. He suddenly started moving without regards to anything and stormed into the tower.
"ARES!" A loud shout was heard and Kratos stormed the tower. He swung the doors open and started to swing his blades wantonly inside the tower.
Vegeta could faintly see some ghostly shadows inside the tower that were constantly whispering things to each other, the situation was extremely eerie and made Vegeta have a shiver down his spine. The shadows weren't getting affected by Kratos' swings at all and were just looming there while they whispered to each other.
"NOO!" Another shout and Kratos could seen on his knees as tears spilled down his face. Vegeta had an idea of what he was seeing and quickly came behind him and chopped him on the neck with a lot of power. Kratos as he was unprepared and unguarded was knocked out. Vegeta slung him on the shoulder and looked around at the Ghosts in the surroundings.
The area was getting darker and darker, the further you got inside. He went as he looked for a way to the other side or the next floor. After roaming around for a while, he saw a staircase going upwards.
Getting the idea, he just upped the shields around him and in his mind as he started climbing upwards. The first eight floor were okay but by the 9th floor, the attacks on his mind shields were getting heavier and heavier.
His shields were quivering a bit and he was worried that he won't be able to handle the next floor. He steeled his heart for his loved ones and continued to press on.
Kratos was fully knocked out on his shoulder but his face was scrunched up in a frown. He was probably having a nightmare.
He slowly made his way towards the next floor that he mapped by thinly spreading his Ki everywhere like a domain.
He just couldn't see anything here. So he opted to use his other sense for this Job and spread his Ki to make a domain like Haki. Where he can know every movement.
After reaching the tenth floor, he finally felt the horror of these wraths. The mind attacks were now combined with physical attacks and he couldn't see them at all even with his spiritual or sensing or the Ki domain.
So he did what he is best at, smashing and spreading destruction. He made Ki orbs as he started detonating then everywhere on the tenth floor.
The wraths were disturbed as blasts of Ki were sent everywhere that messed with their powers and made them unable to use them properly in the fight.
Vegeta took this chance and tried to quickly exit the floor for the next. But he was greeted by a heavy door in front of his. If he knew something from dungeon games then this should be a boss room before the next floor.
He didn't really have the option to rest on this floor as it wasn't safe with all those Wraiths nearly popping his Occlumency like a balloon.
Opening the door, he was graced with a giant skeletal body wrapped in a black cloak that reflected no light around it.
There was a faint black mist floating around the Skeletal Slayer as Vegeta decided to call it. There was a big scythe in its hands and it looked ready to go.
It's power was off the charts as Vegeta will have to go all out to stand a chance against this guy and it was just the first guardian.
Vegeta didn't know, how many more he will have to go through to finally get his prize. He was hellbent on winning the Chalice of Fate.
Vegeta didn't cross the line to start the fight. It was like a game dungeon, where you had to cross a certain distance to start the boss fight as Vegeta saw its inactive state.
He sat cross legged to prepare all his cards for the fight. First he tapped into his Life energy as he infused it in a heavy amount with his Divine Ki. After finally finishing that step, he left Kratos a good distance as he got ready to fight.
Kratos had woken up but he just let Vegeta handle this as he needed this fight to push past his limits and go on a higher scale of power.
So this fight was quite crucial for their future and he might just stay here to let Vegeta fight through the whole dungeon and gain his power.
'Hooo, Let's steam roll this weakling'. Vegeta thought as he got near the boss to initiate the fight.
The boss opened its dark eyes that contained some red glowing orbs inside and looked towards Vegeta as it lifted its scythe and immediately Darkness enveloped the whole room.
Vegeta prepared himself for this and thinly spread his Ki everywhere. He was trying to grasp the boss' movement.
