Capítulo 44: Spell Customization

Gwen's pensive look could only buy her so much time. I needed to know who I was fighting and what would work. She sucked in a breath then sighed. Still she didn't give me anything and I didn't know if I should be worried or not.

"Did you know some creatures can evolve when multiple enchantments are infused within them?" Gwen asked in an innocent voice. I raised an eyebrow. "No really, creatures summoned through spells can jump whole tiers by merging them with different spells." If my eyebrow could raise any higher it would.

Doppel reached down and picked Gwen up. "This is where you can die if you're not careful. Telling you what kills you lowers your chances of success." I stared at the door and contemplated cracking it open and blasting the inside of repeated underworld dragon's wrath.

"Mun isn't like the other two, he's actually competent." I turned to Gwen.

Thoughts of what to do flew through my mind. I'd increased my power by leaps and bounds since coming here. Compared to my former self, I was tens of times stronger. With that strength came a greater supply of aura. With that increased resource came a wider variety of spells and tactics. That didn't mean I could be sloppy.

I needed to retool. Aura from Dol continued to pound down across the tower and the ground shook. Chunks of marble fell from the wall revealing the iron bones of the tower. Steam blasted out of cracks while the wards stumbled in their attempt to maintain themselves. Despite having a backer Dol used cheap building materials.

This place was a sacrificial alter and we were the cultists killing the sacrifices. That or we were all sacrifices and Dol had a final reveal above. In this path I'd taken there had been many opportunities to grow. Hopefully, I've chosen the right path.

I leaned against a wall as a geyser of steam fired out from across the room scattering rock everywhere. Doppel offered her hand and I guided the two of them to sit beside me.

"I've been rushing since I was born. Every moment has been spent growing stronger or chasing after you. There aren't many opportunities to sit down and think." Gwen opened her mouth. I raised a hand and she closed it. "I know, we don't have the time but running into another fight isn't the answer either." I said.

"If we survive, we will have down time. You can fuck us silly for weeks if you want to." Gwen said. I nodded and leaned against a wall.

Despite all my processors running over six tomes and a scroll, I felt under prepared. My magic wasn't particularly impressive. What's the point of having a ton of Aura if you can't use it? Combining spells could increase their tier. What was I going to do with that?

Spells were just programs that forced aura into a particular pattern. The more complicated the pattern the higher the tier. That was my understanding of it originally.

There were more factors at play. Spells that summoned creatures told stories and it was my perception of those stories that acted as a blueprint for creatures. Some stories were less complicated but higher tiers were often more complex stories. Distance often played a higher factor in spell tier than aura cost. A fireball was tier 2 because it kept the ball from exploding long enough to get to a safe distance.

I could play at using one type of spell and go at each foe. PVP was about using the meta to my advantage. What was my meta?

As an AI combining programs and making a spell chain that worked for me was possible. Instead of following the carefully crafted stories of creature summoning, I added new parts and made a fanfiction. After an hour of aura pounding down, stone walls exploding, and heavy rocks falling, I finished my spells.

Red/White Chain Spell Created

Cinder – A third tier spell that summons a fairy of binding and trickery. Where the light from her flame touches her effects apply. 1. Spirit Link – Direct DMG done to enemies by user heals the user. 2. Life Ablaze – When the user gains HP inflict 500 Burn DMG (+1% x INT). 3. Scattered Embers – After inflicting Life Ablaze summon 1 Fire Fairy.

That was all the time I had for creating a chain spell. It ripped into multiple other spells and created something new in the process. The spell was a summon of a story I'd invented from the remnants of the Hounds of Vowmark, fire fairy, and several other spells. It had pieces of my other strategy mixed into it, but it was also autonomous.

The best part of the spell was the two-syllable activation. A faster spell was a better spell.

Perks

Ping!

Multicaster – Combined spells gain 10% more effectiveness.

Spell Chain – You can customize command names of chained spells.

Researcher – +25% spell learning speed.

Color Proficiency – You gain proficiency skills in color series when you use a color series spell.

Philosopher – +25% spell learning speed.

Secondary – colors can be blended to form secondary color series of spells.

Spell series could be blended more deeply than just white/red or red/black. They could become pink and crimson. What did that mean for magical combat? Red and white mean group actions. Rash short-sighted group actions believed to be for the good of the group. What were fairies if not creatures who enjoyed causing chaos.

The story of cinder was becoming clearer by the second. I barely noticed Gwen grabbing me by the horns and looping her legs around my neck. Doppel leaned against me to rest while Gwen messed with my hair.

"So, this is why you like playing with my tentacles." Gwen said.

I rolled my eyes. "I'm hardly adorable." The tower shook again.

A tug made me aware that she was braiding my hair. "Something is bothering you mister I'm going to fight Dol." I didn't know if my chances of wining were better or worse with them here. Her hint allowed me to calm down and think. What would have changed if she was blunt?

The fact is Dol had her power of future sight now. I brushed a hand over her purple thigh. She was smooth like a seal. An advantage of not being a mammal, I guessed.

"I don't think your predictions are accurate. Even if Dol has your power I don't think his predictions will be accurate either." I said.

Gwen tugged harder than necessary on an unruly lock of my white hair. "Do you doubt my abilities?" Gwen asked.

"Dol has committed a sin against the world itself and he will pay for it. I can taste it in the air. The pendulum has begun to swing back. When it hits Dol won't survive." I said.

She hummed atop my head. "Unless the world itself turns on Dol, my predictions are accurate." Gwen said.

I thrummed my fingers against the ground. Stone shattered with ever tap. The feeling didn't go away. An anxious feeling crawled down my spine. If I didn't kill Dol then the counter force would. The pendulum was already swinging back. Dol was right in front of it.

A strained smile spread across my lips. "I doubt we'd survive if that happened." I said.

Doppel sighed beside me while I laid the finishing touches on another spell. Fireball was great but I couldn't settle for simple spells any longer. All of my attacks needed to unleash multiple effects and break my enemies over a barrel.

I placed a hand on her thigh and felt up until I reached her hips. All I had to do was reach a little deeper and I could feel her opening. I bet it would feel nice and warm. With enough probing surely, she'd get into it. It was the only way to get over this stress.

Doppel snatched my wrist before it could move an inch closer. Her eyes peeked open before she smiled. Slowly, she took my hand between her legs and I touched the opening. It was softer and better than I thought possible. My eyes rolled back in my head and I knew I had to have her.

I stabbed my other hand into the ground and moved on top of her. She kissed me while Gwen leaned down and kissed her. Doppel alternated between kissing both of us. I felt Gwen grind against my neck and rub her hands up and down my horns. Slowly, Doppel opened her legs to me before winking and closing them.

A growl left my throat and she smiled before kissing Gwen more. I let out a sigh and powered up my aura sending Gwen sprawling into Doppel's arms. "That was mean." Gwen shouted.

"Sorry about that but I still have a job to do." I said. The break was what I needed. I felt refreshed and ready to battle once more.
