I'm translating another novel that touches on themes like that more directly if you are interested, though the transmigrator isn't aware of the plot of Naruto, it imo is very interesting and in a way more realistic about how cruel the ninja world is. The premise is that MC gets transmigrated into Naruto (around the end of the 2nd Shinobi War) but he doesn't want to be there in the first place. He needs to go back to Earth because his sister is ill and somone needs to pay her for medical treatment or she'll die. So the MC is colder, cares mainly for his own survival and the ninja world is a portrayed crueler. He is willingly to do anything to go back and is very goal driven. It's called Naruto: Echoes of a Distant Home and currently has 47 chapters if you are interested. It has good pacing imo too. This novel is good too though and I definitely say give it a chance but from that comment it seems that Echoes of a Distant Home aligns closer to your taste.

Yeah that true, but his chakra control is much better, his ability to draw out all of his chakra is at a Chunin level. So technically he can create a shadow clone albeit ones with not much chakra. It still is risky for his to try though

I thought firstly since he came into the Naruto world as an orphan, his original name wouldn't change since he has no memories of his 'narutoverse' parents, so his 'real' name is the only name he knows. Secondly, in the 2nd chapter the sannin's reference to how strange his name is indicating that it wasn't at the bare minimum a known/common japanese name. Thirdly, to be honest there wasn't a name when trying translating it to that would of been better in my opinion. I think that his name sounding so different, works with the plot of the story. A person who doesn't want to be there, an outsider to the world.
