Okay I know he despises the man, but that’s just mean.
Because how could the offspring of Ondua be anything else?

Correction it’s current leadership, she would only be a threat to the whole house if the elders decided to be really stupid, like hurt Quatrand or her family stupid.
Even his 'heir' had never shown such natural manipulation of appearances and expectations - his daughter's deception was entirely contrived by the elders in the room. Which is why the man had to respect Elua, in a twisted way, despite how he simply *knew* she was an enemy to his house and its values.

Well Quatrand looks like your little brothers just messed up baaadly.
'Thank you, little one. You might need to work more on your penmanship so you don't get scolded, but you've just made things much more interesting.'

*Sigh* somebody grab the stick we might need it…
Yup
'Doesn't that mean I'm owned now, too?'

That assumes Elua wouldn’t have made sure she was immune beforehand…
For a woman who worked hard on her appearance, her profession, and her goals… such 'kindness' from a younger party almost made her *wish* the pot of tea had been poisoned. Not because she wanted to die herself, but so that if she did then at least the infuriatingly friendly child would be going with her!

His name was Mithridates the sixth he the king of Pontus he developed his poison immunity by first ingesting anything poisonous he found on the woods he hid in while preparing to start a coup after his father had been poisoned by his wife. He succeeded and afterwards did a ton of research into poisons and antidotes. Also I was wrong about him stabbing himself he got a friend to do that. But yeah extremely accomplished king and scholar who actually managed to give the romans a run for thier money by abusing thier tendency to infight at the time, they still got his kingdom but still kind of impressive. He also managed to massively expand his country’s territory, fuse Greek and Persian culture and rule for over 50 years in a time when the romans were either constantly infighting or conquering everything around them. So in conclusion very accomplished king but also as blue from Overly Sarcastic Productions said “ha ha funny poison man“.
The act of poisoning yourself to get your enemy might not be as weird as weird or unlikely as you might think, I recall there being a really successful historical king who built up an immunity to a variety of poisons by ingesting small doses of them over long periods of time, it did however come back to bite him when his enemies got to him and he had to use a dagger because his attempt to poison himself had failed. I don’t remember his name, but I do know that I learned about him through YouTube. You know what let me check brb.
Okay that’s just sad.
At this moment, Chen Guangnian also ran over, speaking as if he was seeking praise.

Huh that’s interesting we don’t really see Elua get visibly angry very often, internally sure but rarely through her actions and demeanour, speaking of which *looks at the Yecine elders* You guys should probably pray that whoever’s plan THAT was has *just* earned you a trip to the hospital and the nursing home and not y‘know… The morgue
