However, I will be adding my own original content later on", which should alleviate any concerns. The issue is that the author did not do this. My concern has never been about whether he is offering the work for free, as you mentioned. It's about the author claiming originality while 100% borrowing someone else's plot outline, which is a very disappointing point. At least when the initial fourteen chapters are entirely based on existing content, some credit should be given to the original fanfiction author, don't you think?
