Suggestions for what she can do: I would suggest making something like a nano suit (like the mark 50 Iron Man suit) that is stored in a metal disc that can be placed on a gems chest and spread out to fully cover them. It could look like a metal suit, fabric suit, or spandex. Personal shields built into the suits that can recharge after some time (like the spartan suits in halo), auto repair features, and an emergency gem protection mode if the gem gets poofed. It can wrap around the gem to protect them while also sending out a destress signal to there commander. It can record and send video, audio, movement data, (combat data), vital signs, and much more. All live too. Some sort of power armor that can improve a gems athletic ability’s. While also having built in blades, blasters and explosives You can create a portable bubble shield that when placed down will create a safe zone. Destabilizer grenades (can poof a gem, and knock out, or kill, organics). You could try and create a way to heal cracked or shattered gems (some sort of incubation chamber that you can place a gem into and feed it nutrients to fix them). Introduce the power of guns and artillery to the gems, as any American should. Improve gem transportation by making it more efficient and have a wider range (warp pads, ships, troop transports, etc) Make fashionable clothes that can also act as armor, something the diamonds might find interesting enough to commission some for themselves (yellow diamond) She can make something like a Star Trek replicator (give it enough energy and matter and it can permanently make something (even if it gets broke) Make some type of storage bag of holding, where it can store enough stuff to fill a warehouse into the size of a suitcase. A device so if her gem gets poofed it automatically gets teleported back to her workshop. All with a multi fail safes and backdoors of course.

From everything our peridot has said I believe her to have been an American. And as an American she has to have played around with homeworlds weapons designs and blueprints, especially there guns, and has have to have found a way to improve them. So since she asked for just “Destabilizer swords and light energy canons”, you can give her exactly what she asked for, they just might not be the standard homeworld Destabilizer swords and light energy canons, but “prototype peridot” Destabilizer swords and light energy canons. That may or may not be smaller, lighter, hand held, more powerful versions. Along with bigger, MUCH more powerful, fully automatic, with a high rate of fire versions.
