Dred doesnt have any proof of that, and there is nothing to gain by bringing it up. Gial's order was to kill and take Dred's place as Hundred. But it would look like he did it on his own initiative. I hope that clears up any doubts 😄

Shameless author review, but I think my novel is great so that's that :P Without going into too much detail, it's a dark-ish fantasy transmigration with all kinds of cool stuff and action.
