Changing the word human is really unnecessary. Just call them powered individuals if you really want. Mutant associating with cancer, at least for me, doesn’t exist at all, I have this association only because of fanfics like this one. Plus mc here, who’s not a mutant herself, comes to them and says “you shouldn’t call yourself this. call yourself like that instead”. Its not anyones deal how people call themselves, especially if you’re not one of them
Thinking it over a bit, I don't hate mutants. To me they are just humans the only thing I don't like is them calling themselves mutants, it invokes a sense of disgust in me and makes me think of cancer and other horrific mutations. I personally believe DC did it best by calling super powered individuals meta-humans.

My plan was to use a combination of my shapeshifting and the typhons ability to condense themselves into a smaller form and climb inside the probe. Once in the probe I can merge with it and reconfigure it to act as a shell around my body during re-entry. The other option I thought about was randomly encountering a satellite and hoping it has thermal shields, but I figured this would be unlikely.

Forgive for what? I’m not saying that mc shoud be edgelord and not care about people, but I think everyone has long periods without seeing friends. Isn’t it just how life is? Isn’t being angry with people for not contacting for some time is actually manipulative? I would ask about his fury being righteous. He’s not part of this culture, government(if they have any), even not part of the species.
