Probably because I tried to make sense of chakra by explaining the 'impure energy' that had been passed down from generations to generations by the Otsutsuki and the 'pure energy' directly absorbed from the natural energy of a planet without forcefully absorbing it. In canon, it hasn't really been tackled as they simply live out their body and bloodline's potential without looking for ways to get even stronger past that like my mc here. Gai is the closest example in canon that tried to go past the limits of his body over and over again unlike the rest that simply relies on what they already have and find jutsus all over the world to strengthen themselves. If guy was a body cultivator, Naruto is a qi cultivator.
