Yeah, for now. Not too keen on giving him a skill that delivers exposition without effort , like most fics that feature the Observe skill. Partly why I didn’t want him to be able to find out makes from the jump. Perhaps later on when there’s a justification for it: eg. He levels it up so high it transforms, he gains divination abilities somehow, or whatever else.

Not exactly, I’m not really trying to use another hero as a template. But he may end up sharing similar abilities just through natural progression.
Obviously not. The whole chapter was about his inexperience, and it specifically ended with him wanting to learn about tactics and using more than just a single skill in a fight. His mission parameters only dictated he stop the bullying from happening, so the rest was just him wanting to assess his own fighting ability, and I thought I made it clear that in fighting 3 people it would be a callback of the cafeteria scuffle. I added some more sentences to make it clearer though.
