Aizawa's point is to tell them his hard truths. Not everyone likes to do their best all the time. There are places and situations where giving your all depends on the individual. He doesn't seem to understand that some people won't give their all in a surprise competition, like he did. For someone to give their all, especially teenagers, you have to create expectations or make it a life-or-death situation. And in any case, it depends again on each person's perspective. For example: they hold a Call of Duty competition where if you lose you have to pay 1 million dollars. Now, if you're very good and you see that you're constantly playing against bad or average players, obviously you're not going to give it your all since it's not necessary. But if you happen to encounter someone just like you, obviously you're going to take it seriously and give it your all. And that can be applied to many other areas; the point is that people act based on the situation. Given the environment, and seeing how not everyone was as good as the MC, there's no reason to do everything possible, especially considering that the MC doesn't like to stand out.

So shut up with the, "Oh my god he's so stupid! WHY DO THAT!!!! My great GOAT Fangtangswangtyinycock would never do that. He's so majestic with his long girly hair. And his slender twinky female body. He never speaks long like an idiot, only grunts and says two words if not aura farming. He never shares anything with anyone! He like a grand master GOAT keeps it all for himself even when he never uses any of it. His only true friend is fatty wang, but not too much of a friend cuz then he'd have to actually you know, treat him as a friend. Fangtangswangtyinycock is the best not stupid Caelan and his muscles and modern hair cut!!!! NOT LONG ENOUGH TO PULL WHILE GETTING FUCKED IN THE ASS!!! Oops, my true gay cuck thoughts came out. I wish I was Fangtangswangtyinycock!"

I understand, I hadn't thought of that. I let my disdain for the ANBU get the better of me. Except for Kakashi and maybe Tenzo, as far as I remember, there hasn't been anyone truly useful in that organization. The only thing they were good for in the series was stopping kunai with their chests. So, no matter how much the series says they're the elite and all that nonsense, it was never really proven. And the only people I know who came out of there as elites are ninja who were already elite before joining and only joined for emotional reasons or to escape reality by doing missions like Kakashi. That's why I don't really see the point of joining the ANBU, and with his Instant Mastery ability, it's even less useful to join, since now he'll be in more danger because, again, as far as I remember, the ANBU only do surveillance missions or go to a certain place and pray you don't die. Besides, he loses a lot of freedom, as he himself said at the beginning, and most importantly, in my opinion, they lose Valuable interpersonal interactions with his comrades, since he can't talk about his missions in Ambu with anyone outside of there and will spend his time busy going from mission to mission, because as far as I remember they train, but they spend most of their time on missions.
