Diversification in investment terms means your portfolio has more than just singular type of asset. Helps to balance the risk. Like if you only have healthcare type assets in your portfolio and a particular company goes down it usually causes a cascading effect, affecting the whole sector, or some federal policy change or for whatever the healthcare went down, it will affect all your assets since you only have healthcare assets causing you to incur massive loses. But if you diversify meaning you have assets from multiple sectors and commodities, if one goes down then it won't affect others. So you might incur loses for the particular asset that went down but your portfolio would still be in green. And you might not have to think about suicide lol.
