Kousei’s mother was dying, she became obsessed with making him “perfect” in playing the piano till her death so the relationship was hella strained…..(Not completely sure. It’s been 10 or so years since I’ve watched and read it.)

Wasn’t The Great Darkness the one which just wanted to keep the balance (neutral) and the empty hand antagonistic due to it being the corrupted part of the great darkness? Or did DC retcon it?

Unseen chains of her own making were bucked as if they were nothing — encouraged to Change, to be Free. The Crone let out an eerie, banshee-esque shriek as her entire mantle dissolved into the unnatural darkness that tainted her being. The Great Darkness — anathema to Creation — was pushed back beyond the edges of reality again.

The Darkness or The Empty Hand?? And didn’t the Great Darkness have more than one avatar or hold influence over more characters like Superboy prime, Anti life entity etc?
