This isn’t an attack on you, but I’ve noticed that a lot of authors seem to display a severe lack of sympathy for Naruto’s situation. Naruto wasn’t raised with any of the knowledge, values, or emotional intelligence that would be given to someone from a healthy household. I get calling an “idiot” isn’t a falsity and may even have comedic value based on the situation, but it sucks to see the reason not taken into account.

On top of the fact that the threat of other Villages taking advantage of the potential civil war could have led to the start of another Great Ninja War (as stated my Obito), I understand his actions as well. He saw the results of war as a child refused to see it play out again even at the detriment of his own clan. Even at a young age, he was able to see the world past himself and more on a grand scale, “the mind of a homage” as stated in the anime. I also find his actions negative due to the killing of some innocent people, but in the world of ninja it’s better to kill the few to save the many.
Regarding Sasuke's older brother, Itachi, known for his unparalleled Sharingan genjutsu, he struggled to understand his actions. Trying to ease the conflict between his clan and the village was one thing, but slaughtering his clan when the effort failed was another.
