I would like to see a template derived from a dnd class and sub-class (like in Baldur's gate 3 for a fighter or monk or other) because i saw a resident evil mc 2 remake fic with a mc insert who had a Artificer class and did really good and interesting how he choose is skills and other (sub class was a semi-living turret that he can create from materials he found to make it stronger and ''pack a punch'') but their is a lot. the idea to just get xp from killing things (in that fics ''zombies'' to level up or with objectives big or small (like create a surprise for your friends or sisters (gifts or party)) could make it's more alive and natural to introduce things that can be not that important for the main plot but create funny situations or develop relationships in those moments.
