Idk what the sword you’re talking about looks like in my head, but it reminds me of Excalibur from King Arthur: The legend of the sword.
As my other hand made contact with the handle I felt a pulse of power erupt from the sword. The ice-like gem was glowing a brilliant blue. Brother Lucian screamed something and moved towards me. Another pulse of power blasted from the sword and sent the monk flying to the opposite wall. The tables fractured and chairs were thrown. The sword pulsed once more and my world went black.

I know I’m late here but when the author wrote vampires turning into statues, it kinda reminded me of the scene from “Queen of the Damned” where they kill the queen and the aunt takes in the last drop of blood and becomes a living statue
Hadrian found out that vampires who do not drink blood for a 3 months have issues with their body, due to their physiology being forced to feed upon itself in order to survive. When this occurs, overtime the vampire in question becomes weak, and they become stiff,very similar to a marble statue as a result, but this is not enough to kill them.
