Yeah, I realise it’s a good novel, it was more personal in that It wasn’t the type of story I was looking for. I guess asking for a slice of life slow cultivation story is too much to ask 🫠. The whole point of cultivation is to fight stronger and stronger opponents so I’m probably going to be looking for something like that for a while.
Having read more than 700 chapters, I can say this story is a nice change of pace from the usual cultivation story, with good world building, and semi decent fights when they do happen. *SPOILER* But the one place this story fall short for me personally is the speed at which things develop. Although it feels like a long time has passed when you read because it’s close to 800 chapters, only a few years have passed story time wise, that just seems like you’re not taking advantage of the unique part about having characters that can be around for 100s of years, or 1000s of years, I understand that the system helps him and stuff but the mc is constant looking to rush into random danger zones, rushing to increase his cultivation speed and strenght with no apparent downside to his foundation, and just generally never sitting still for longer than a few days unless he gets injured. They way this story is progressing, it he would have been better off being a mage in a fantasy world with how fast his strength increases. And how coincidental everything that happens around him is, if the story took place over a few decades at least then these coincidences can be chalked to them being far apart in time story wise, but as of now, in the few years since he entered this world, he’s discovered an ancient seal that’s weakening, he’s been around for the opening of a secret realm in his kingdom, the war with the neighbouring kingdom that has been going on for 100s of years has suddenly ramped up in intensity, a super powerful organisation church type thing chose his kingdom out of 1000s in the border region to invade, them empire he’s under has just decoded to ramp up the conflict with the 3 major religions in their empire. And there’s so much more, that happens in the few years since he came, it just seems incredibly unrealistic for a world where the strong live 1000s of years. Anyway, more a rant at this point than a review, and I still enjoy the story if I ignore the messed up timeline, so keep it up
I haven’t read the comics so I’m probably wrong in saying this, but if the final villain and the strongest being in this verse is thragg and you get smart atoms with a kryptonian physiology, which I guess would supper charge your adaptability with the energy from the sun, I doubt anyone in this verse would stand much of a chance anymore.
Kryptonians were strong in many ways and this was thanks to their genetics but that only went down to the cells. When it came to atoms Kryptonians were only a bit more durable and deferent as unique. These Smart Atoms on the other hand were completely different. If they managed to replicate it or even create a version specifically for a Kryptonians then his strength would and adaptability would soar.

It’s seems like one of the higher quality stories on the site and from what I’ve read it’s somewhat decent, but I’d say so far it’s false advertising, I came to read a story about a dragon and though it would be cool if he had kryptonian attributes to make up for his weak infancy, but the total dragon stuf - being alive for 100s of years(he is born when Thor is around 1400 years old, which I assume is really close to canon mcu, but I could be wrong but I stopped reading cause I wasn’t enjoying it) - Born with dragon magic - dragon sleep - basic magic resistance - he doesn’t even use his wings - his bloody name is Luke 😭 Not of that is there, honestly you could replace the fact that he’s a dragon and make him a random kryptonian who hatched or something and the story would be more coherent. Because it’s clear the dragon part about him is just for aesthetics.

If fury was really the type to cover his super teams things then he’d have lots of opportunities to arm himself, with things like iron man suits, the super soldier serum from the power broker and flag smasher, that’s not to say he would use it to arm try protect humanity, he tried the same thing with the tesseract, but it’s not like he’d be hunting down the mc with it. Unless this is a villain mc that’s the only plausible reason besides hydra to not include fury. Unless he’s just selfish, power hungry or just paranoid.
Thinking about his options he contemplated taking this to Nick Fury. The man had everything he needed from funding to scientists and labs but there were a couple of problems with this. For one the place was basically Hydra and bringing the formula there was like returning it to its creators. Getting in contact with Fury was also difficult as S.H.I.E.L.D was a legitimate spy agency and not some police department he could call with a speed dial.

I’ve tried my hand at writing, and I can say it’s really easy to fall into the trap of telling not showing if you don’t actively try and avoid it. It’s even hard for me to tell the difference sometimes, so I try not to judge it when I come across it.

However, the material required for this was especially rare and usually failed to synthesize 98% of the time. Causing them to limit production down to only 5 vials and if what this scientist just said is true then that means everyone else died. Leaving him as the only survivor.
