I think the quest should have been over. It was remaining 4 hrs to complete the quest requiring him to master the glove/gauntlet, but a new daily quest came up soon after. So, he should have failed that one.

Say this if he was the one who met Allister during awakening rather than Anya. The only true person was probably Anya, and that's because she has a unique way of seeing potential. She probably has a good character (maybe) based on her inner monologue. Even his school headmaster gave him a sad smile that says, "His run ends here."
