He was pretty much shunned amongst the nobility, and some people were either against him or wanted to kill him. The way the story was, I would leave the country if it were me. There was literally no need to just suffer himself there. It's different when it's a general thing, but was all about to get rid of him in one way or the other. The said organization also wants him captured or dead. There wasn't any point at that time to stay in that nation. Even his grandad was ready to talk to the King of the other nation to grant him better privilege, of which, the king was willing to accept any requirement as long as MC made his decision to relocate. I haven't continued the book yet as I got very busy. Still somewhere in the 880 ~ 920. But the book is actually nice, and I do admit that there were lots of plot holes.

If he is solely focused on battle, yes. But honestly, it's best he is complete and able to do anything because his powers makes it possible. And with the issue of his soul, if I'm him, I wouldn't want to take any chance but make myself complete without any weakness. A soul as powerful as that got that much damage. The only thing I would think of if I its me is that, whatever or whoever the cause is, it's beyond wlanything any of these gods can do.
