I can get that POV. I can say that this won't be the same every time we transition from setting to setting and I dislike the idea of the Benefactors being overly involved in the story, myself, so I know we won't get to see them very often.

That's a fair criticism. I work on this a bit in other sections, and there's a chapter coming up where I experiment with it a lot more, and I'd be interested to see what you think of that.

I have actually written another chronicle fix but with an evil protagonist. Funnily enough it's also a jump chain story but I mixed in other stuff and it got... messy. I was a younger, less experienced writer, and while I love that story I always feel odd talking about it. Chronicle is decently popular among the jumpchain community, and it's a somewhat common first jump, which I reflected here! I'm glad you're enjoying it, it's nice that this experimental story is doing well.

This is not a forced struggle. It's a difference in innate abilities and a sign that different people have different specialties. Plus the MC can self heal and has forcefields, and the others can definitely not self heal even if they can use baby forcefields.

A heartbeat later, in an impossibly fluid movement, the hand is spirited out of the pocket and the figure hurls some sort of supernatural dust into the face of the teen. This snaps the teen out of the calm daze he was just in, and he gasps due to the suddenness of the entity's actions.

A heartbeat later, in an impossibly fluid movement, the hand is spirited out of the pocket and the figure hurls some sort of supernatural dust into the face of the teen. This snaps the teen out of the calm daze he was just in, and he gasps due to the suddenness of the entity's actions.

That's a fair assessment. I am writing this as a self-insert so this is not the MOST EFFICIENT thing in the world, or someone making optimal plays, but a human reacting to things like a human does. Which can be a liability from a story standpoint. That said, I do think some of this is somewhat mitigated by him having meta-knowledge of his perks, specifically, which strongly address some of the plot elements here and work to significantly weaken the threats in this jump. If anything, barring the omega drawback, the perks in this jump basically kill the likelihood of the events of the movie playing out so long as someone isn't an idiot, and this character is cognizant of that and has worked to subtly use the powers granted by the perk to lower the likelihood of something bad happening and has refused to be so overt that he causes something unexpected by introducing new plot elements.

Chronicle is FANTASTIC when it comes to that kind of thing.

One is Generic Cartoon World, which is a fun, if powerful first jump. Some of the perks there are great for surviving jumps, and the items themselves are roughly as powerful. The other is Chronicle, which is a jump that is near and dear to my heart. A jump about three superpowered teens that offers jumpers a free superpower with no explicitly defined upper limit? That's… that's an option I can work with.

    Premise: A young man’s life is forever changed when an enigmatic stranger approaches him and asks him if he’d like to go on an adventure. Meta Notes: Initial setting: Edro Grimshell Generic World (E.G.’s Generic Jumps) mixed with a creative mode version of the Doll Waifu CYOA. Oh, and this features my quest system: basically, jumps are CP-less and each time you arrive at a new setting you get SOME perks and items and you work for the rest. This initial setting is a bit funny just because there are multiple supermarket style (origin-less, hodgepodge of perks, items, and companions, tokens given instead of convention, origin-centric discounts) jumps that I happen to like that I made into one super jump. Four out of the six of Edro Grimshell's central "Generic" jumps are used at the start of the story, though as the first chapter reveals the other two jumps exist in some sense in this setting. The quest system also incorporates stuff from the Doll Waifu CYOA, a fairly new CYOA that I fell in love and which motivated me to go ahead and rewrite something I was working on but had never published before.

Meta Notes: Okay so this section is gonna be different from how it looks on Questionable Questing. This is a rewrite of a story named An OP Neutral Evil Jumper Haunts The Omniverse. In THAT story, Marco Gutierrez is a powerful young jumper who is telekinetic and has mercantile abilities. That story starts off with the Chronicle Jump, incorporates elements from Wizard's Keychain, and Power Creator Xenon. At the end of that jump, a little over four months after entering the setting, Marco battles and defeats a powerful mage and gets shunted into another universe. This story's backstory is a remixed version of that. A weaker version of Marco appears in the world of Chronicle, befriends and tricks Andrew, Steve, and Matt (the protagonists of Chronicle) into giving up their powers, and then defeats the same wizard the OG Marco did. He still gets shunted into another world, and that world is this remixed version of the Wizarding World. That's the backstory you need to know going into this. There will be significant differences between the canon version of the Wizarding World and this setting. Not the least significant of those changes is that this is an AU! where Hogwarts is a university and the characters who start off as 9 or 10 year olds are all 18 at least. Pre-Harry Potter build: Creative mode Chronicle jump, Creative mode Generic Hentai World jump, all Cryptid perks & perk combos from Generic Creepypasta, and Creative mode Horny Horror (but only the Monster perks and items). Initial build: Generic HP Fanfic Jump (all general items & perks, all Dark! & Grey! Perks and items aside from the Deathly Hallow item, in exchange for the Epic Wand item), Wizarding World Jump (all general items & perks aside from the horcrux item, all Villain, Tradesman, Official, Officer, & Pure-Blood perks & items. Heritage perk chosen is “Part-Veela”.) In both cases more perks and items can be attained through usage of the essence of the super merchant and by interacting with the world itself.

Alchemist Bard Clergy Culinary Warrior Dimensional Traveler Enchanter Hedge Mage Merchant Style Warrior Tamer Quest mode itself is a system I designed, specifically for jumpers who find themselves interested in the freedom of creative mode, but don't want the instant power said mode offers, or who want to reward jumpers for engaging with a setting creatively and "in-character".
