I don’t if you are talking about him but while reading your comment the only name that came to my mind was Typhon. He was really gigantic (touching the skies), incredibly strong and the gods were terrified at the idea of fighting him. Also, he has hundred of dragon heads coming out of his shoulders. Furthermore, if I remember correctly the gods couldn’t kill him but only sealed him under a mountain (the Etna).
