If we use the logic that you can't summon living things, in my opinion they belong to the body like any other part, like with that explanation you can argue that you can summon people by summoning their skin or hands, etc. Hair are connected to the skin, they have nerve ending and living cells in their root... So the game doesn't make sense when you argue that you simply can't summon living things (like in the move Moody also levitates the small spider) There could be some weird exception for insects and monsters but it's more likely to be an error in the novel. I thought the explanation was used in the game (which is false i think) but it's an explanation written by the author.
