I feel like it would've come across better to the readers if this maddening effect had been mentioned the moment rowan was truly aware of it, cause right now it just sounds like a hasty excuse from the author for rowan's coming actions.

So what was telmus's intent level? it said it that last chapter he was in that it was at the peak of the origin stage...does that mean it's just black?
Bigger doesn't always mean better but I guess that's the rule of thumb in this novel.
