Considering my healing kekkei genkai, the effects disappear relatively quickly, so enduring the first terrible couple of hours is enough for the blood to produce enough antidote to breathe a sigh of relief. You can't achieve absolute immunity to all toxins with this method, of course, but slowing down or weakening the effect is a very nice bonus for any shinobi. Especially when combined with regeneration.
