I guess it would depend on each individuals' perception and the aspect of comparison between the machine and the organic, but they are fundamentally different. Organics are not designed to turn on and off, making it very risky for them to do so, its literally dying and coming back to life. Machines are designed to turn on and off, and likewise can be made so that they can never turn off unless they are destroyed.
