really? I thought the one that wanted to learn the seal technique has to be married in the clan not the sealing service itself, I mean look at konoha they use uzumaki clan seal in exchange for protection. I'm not 100% sure but it was like that at least until the first hokage died and konoha lost a lot of force in subsequent war that it changed because they cannot spread out their force to protect a detached village, as you know uzumaki has their own land.
And as for the timeline, I chose a specific period: before Naruto's birth. It was a strategic decision. Jiraiya, the Toad Sage, was still around during this time, and if there was anyone who could point me in the right direction when it came to seals, it was him. Not to mention, Kushina Uzumaki and Minato Namikaze were alive, and the Uzumaki clan's legacy of sealing techniques was unmatched.
