Probably because they are the ones that can be found with a minimal research . I expected atleast a glimpse of the history with vampires and the cenima of the last century. Plus all the comics that have gone through the cliché plot... But yeah.

The main reason for choosing these two books is simple: they are the only two vampire-centric novels he has ever read in their entirety.
