Aye, this is the explanation I was talking about. While not in the story itself, you at least explain to my fellow readers what's behind your decision in regards to using the gear. Good on you. Been doing some pondering on my own to see if I could find a way I would personally have done something like this, and the 'easy' way out would be a thought before accepting the longinus that would go something like this: "Hmm, while undoubtedly I'll decrease my power accumulation by a bit doing this, I still have Gluttony to do some heavy lifting, not to mention now that I've contact with the devils, true longinus should make them reconsider standing against me" Well, use it however you see fit, if you even want to use it, just an idea that would both give a plausible reasoning for his action and reminder of gluttony that is still a power creep. No matter how you word it, he did limit himself and there is no proper explanation as to his actions. 1(gluttony)+1(system) is 2. Removing one of them will never get 2 in the end, therefore limiting. Did he cut off future prowess? No. Did he delay it? Absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt. In a metaphorical approach, you could say he's a car enthusiast, so he traded his car for a horse carriage. The main issue people find with this decision is that.. It's not needed, therefore, using the spear is beyond stupid, which irritates people, and this chapter didn't give a proper explanation as to WHY he used the spear. So you need to either revise the chapters to add in a reason, or quickly explain why he did what he did or you'll be bleeding readers. I hope I explained properly why most readers gave you backlash, if not I'll try to further explain it.

A 50m tall golden dragon, who also happens to be a God, can possibly shatter the world with just his will alone, was running around like a fucking headless chicken scared out of his mind, even knowing what was going on and how to avoid it, all the while knowing his wife would be unhappy with it?
