Because technically there should be demons within the Naruto franchise. Considering the 3 sage regions were around before the divine tree was planted, there must have been a lot of creatures that could use natural energy. Considering that demons are malevolent entities there would definitely be some, but they died out due to being hunted, or the natural conflict from when the divine tree appeared and started absorbing the planets natural energy leaving less n less for the other creatures until finally there is only the 3 sage regions controlled by slugs, snake, and toads. Although not stated explicitly but the 3 sage regions were definitely around before the divine tree because the talisman Gamamaru gave Hagoromo was passed down in the land of toads for generations, and well Gamamaru alone has lived for over 1000 years.

Also big reveal Darth Plagueis is alive, his research into Immortality is a success and Palpatine was not able to kill him. In the end he was able to confine him like you've seen. He will be important to future chapters as well. Any of you who've played Star Wars the old republic online game should know what Project V is. Anyway I hope you enjoyed the chapter.)
