This, and his personality is a little bit contradictory. He has the original sadao's memory, if I remember corectly the original sadao cares about the world in his own way even though it is a little bit wrong. That is the reason why he wanted to unite the world as one, that is what he had on his mind when he invaded ente isla with brute force and violence. He didn't know human is different from demon and did what he had done succefully on demon world because he thought they are similar to each other, He didn't know about human's basic needs like food until he landed on earth and lost his magic. This is also the reason why the original sadao felt a little bit relucant to return to ente isla, he felt guilty because his misunderstanding. Since he has the memories, shouldn't he a little bit affected by it? Well, that is if I remember the novel correctly. Kinda try hard to forget this novel because the last part of the novel just tick my anger spots.
To be honest I don't really care about who is the love interest, what I care is how they become the love interest based on the existing character background, the progress and the justification.
Like, in my opinion, making Yufeng a love interest would make a pretty interesting plot (or at least I have some vision of future plot) but comment on what you think.

Just saying, but Zhu Que is the chinese of Vermillion Bird. Feng Huang or Feng and Huang whichever you like is the one that refer as Phoenix and that is why the Phoenix Empire and co used Feng as their surname.
