Wu could clearly hear the conversation going on in the corridor while crying.

Rachel was comforting Wu as though she was feeling the same but Wu didn't even hear what she said. She was already drowning in her own memories. She saw a scene in her mind.
Inside a dark room, a figure darker than the night was tidying his many pieces of equipment, and even when Wu, who was also inside the room, dissuaded him, the black figure still spoke in a voluble way.
'I'm used to fighting alone!"
'What? Having someone backing you up is the best!'
'That is why you don't understand my romance!'
Wu chose to compromise with the figure because of love.
Love blinds people.
Love blinded Wu to the point that she neglected some basic key points.
Then, she received the cruelest outcome.
Now, the choice was presented to her again.
How could she make the wrong choice again with a mistake in the past?
She wanted to correct her wrongs!
She wanted to correct his fate!
"Romance? To hell with your romance! I was wrong once, why should I be wrong again?" 
Wu was screaming loudly while wiping her tears.
Her persistent and resolute eyes shook Rachel's heart for a bit. She knew what her good friend was going to do and out of instinct, she wanted to stop her good friend.
However, before Rachel could speak, Wu spoke first.
"Help me. Don't try to stop me! I missed him once, I won't allow myself to make the same mistake twice! I've lost him once, I can't endure the pain of losing him again! And there… is only one place that I know of that could help 2567. Only in that place can I get what I am looking for!" said Wu.
A deep breath later, she turned to her bag, which only she could see.

10,000 Points and 3 Skill Points were quite the price for a Magic rank item with limitations, but it was also because of that that the short knife wouldn't be dragging down its wielder's movement. 
The latter was quite favourable among lone wolf players, and ultimately, it was bought by a lone wolf player standing in the shadows.
Lawless raised his cup at the player with a smile.
The cup that he raised, of course, was the drink that Kieran bought him—the cheapest and most affordable honey wine. 1 Point could buy three glasses and sometimes an extra or two based on Rachel's mood.
However, Lawless didn't mine at all.
He sipped it little by little as though he were enjoying the nectar of heavens. After all, it was the drink that Kieran bought him.
While Lawless was carefully sipping his "nectar", the auction for [Cunning Viper Sword] started.
When the auctioning began, the calling price swiftly broke through the base price of 100K Points that Lawless set, and since there were many solo players around, the price swiftly entered 300K points.
Coll, sitting at the side, was rendered speechless by the price.
"Expensive."
"An equipment that's normal attack reaches Powerful and is able to go up to Extreme attack through a certain condition will never slip past a player's eye as long as the requirements are met. For those players that have been lingering around Advance Ranks and are still unable to fully ascend, this equipment might be the key for their true ascension," Hanses whispered to Coll while sitting beside her.
"Advance Ranks…I failed last time." 
When Advance Ranks were mentioned, Coll's voice turned gloomy.
"You will get through it next time! Clutch the beginner's mind! And I swear on both my fists that you will get through it!" Hanses said seriously.
"Mm." Coll took a glance at Hanses and nodded hard.
They were very close to each other, as they were whispering, but whenever others would look at them, they would sit straight and act like nothing happened.
They thought they had covered it up flawlessly, but in the eyes of the familiar acquaintances, it was like they had stolen a bell while covering up their ears.
Raven the Loner caressed the cat in his arms and held his pet tighter.
Ramonet curled his lips into a grin and reached both of his hands out for his swords.
Rhino, on the other hand, breathed heavily. He then grabbed a wine barrel beside him and took big gulps into his body.
Kieran was leaning on the bar counter, watching it all with a smile.
He did not dislike what he was seeing. Instead, he gave them his blessing.
He raised the honey lemon water and performed a toast for Hanses and Coll.
To love.
After a gulp, Kieran raised his cup in the air again.
To freedom.
The honey lemon water swiftly reached the bottom after some toasting.
While the stingy Kieran tightened his wallet and rejected Rachel's suggestion for another drink, the auction for [Cunning Viper Sword] came to an end.
The final big price was 450K Points, greatly surpassing the range a solo player could afford.
However, Kieran was quite surprised at the lone wolf who bought the said sword.
The lone wolf player wasn't a stranger to Kieran. Kieran had seen him before.
A while ago, the said player used 30,000 Points and 5 Skill Points to buy Kieran's [Fighter's Bandage], [Interrogator Knife], [Dark Venom Dagger] and [Nimble Boots]. All the mentioned items were decent Magic rank items.
Now, the player had bought [Cunning Viper Sword] with 450K points.
One needed to know, the last time Kieran met this player, the player was supposed to a newbie.
"A risk player?" Kieran muttered to himself.
Only a player who ignored the three month's window of dungeon entry and entered a dungeon once the cooldown was reset could earn that kind of value. In addition, each dungeon run had to be a harvest.
Sighing, Kieran shook his head.
Everyone had their own opportunity. 
He would not be jealous, he would only seize his own opportunity.
After the auction for [Cunning Viper Sword] ended, a lot of lone wolf players scattered away. 
Other than those that habitually lingered in Harvest Inn, only the player who bought the sword and one of his comrades were left in the inn.
Then, the said duo walked towards Kieran.
"Mr. 2567, can we have a talk? I have some news for you, the unfavourable kind that will put you in a disadvantage. And I think you should know this," the player said.
He had added more after the request to have a talk with Kieran as if he were afraid Kieran would reject him.

So, obvious title is obvious, but I'll still be giving some brief thoughts on how this should develop. And, yes, I'm aware of the more recent fan-fiction which uses the same setting, but his character is a Living Armor, whereas mine is set to be a wolf-type monster. I'm also gunning for a similar development to Rimuru, quickly gaining power and companions. I also would like to see a bit of romance for the MC. Yeah, I know he's going to be a canid, but we can rectify that later on in the story.

Let's get the blurb out of the way first: Human dies, either due to a criminal or some unfortunate accident. Similarly to Rimuru, he makes a couple of statements which are then interpreted and transformed into Skills. After taking his final breath, he awakes in a new body, that of a wolf pup, being licked clean by his new mother. I haven't exactly figured out what kind of wolf it should be, it could even be a Fang Wolf, but I'd prefer an original species.

So, what about Skills? Well, I have a few ideas, but there is one I'd definitely like to see above the rest. First, let's talk about your typical buffs. Things like Resistances, Agility, and Strength are all very important physical attributes, and definitely shouldn't be overlooked in terms of usefulness. Next is things that will help in the acquisition of Magic and other Skills. Analysis, Sage/Great Sage, Deconstruction, Predator, and Starving One would all greatly increase survivability. Though if you are going to use these, I wouldn't pick Starving One, it has a couple of negative effects, like never-ending hunger. I don't want to copy all of Rimuru's skills, so maybe combine Analysis & Deconstruction and then use Predator. But let's move on to my magnum opus for this fan-fiction.

Transcendent Evolutionary Growth, the main skill of the MC. Its name directly explains its affects, with three different abilities. First is Growth, which increases the speed of "leveling" by 5x. Second, Evolution gives the ability to freely evolve into a higher species at any time, so long as the requirements have been met. Thirdly, Transcendence removes any limit to growth and when combined with Evolution, guarantees the user will evolve into a stronger Variant of their chosen higher species.

Now, I'll give a few ideas on what higher species I'd like to see from Evolution. So, first is either Cerberus or Fenrir, for obvious reasons. Both of these would grant incredible physical power, as well as unique abilities. Obviously the Cerberus would have Parallel Thoughts and powerful fire magic, and Fenrir would be the opposite with Devour and ice. Next is a werewolf or lycanthrope, which would give the ability to switch between a human and wolf-like form. Naturally these suggestions shouldn't be the first species the MC will evolve into, they should be the last, or close to it.

So, I have these ideas float around my head constantly. I figured since I'm not using them, someone else could. If you read them and feel like writing about it, feel free. I'd rather focus on my own novel, so they are fair game for anybody. I'd love to read them if they are ever used.

In the next day, Kosuke was considering whether or not he would join the club. They seemed to be nice guys, and Kosuke was slowly getting hooked up on literature. He had realized if it was the "old" him he would just ignore that argument they had back in the class about the book. He could see that he changed a little bit in the way he acted. Was it because of her sister? Perhaps.
He woke up by the voice of his sister again.

"Wake up. It's time for school.", she said.

"Ok, I'll get dressed.", he said.

He got the school uniform on, and went downstairs where a delicious breakfast was waiting for him. He spaced out again, thinking whether or not he should join the club, because if he did he would be spending less time with his sister, as he had to be in club for at least a hour or so after school.
Ayaka realized that he spaced out and wanted to know what was on his thoughts so she could help him.

"What's going on, Kosuke?", she asked.

"Nothing.", he tried to hide.

"Kosuke, are you trying to hide from me?", she asked, slightly mad.

"Well…", he mumbled.

"Say it.", Ayaka said, patting his head.

"I met yesterday a group of people that were talking about a book I bought like a week ago. And I made my opinion about the book before I realized. Then they said they were from the literature club and we started talking about novels and introduced ourselves before we know it. Then they invited me to come take a look at the club, and even consider joining them.", Kosuke said.

"Well, why not?", Ayaka asked.

"I would need to be in school until later, in the end of classes and I'm not too much into literature.", Kosuke said.

"It's not required to be into literature, it's just that you need to like it. And from what I understood, you do. And being a hour or so more late wouldn't bother, I mean it would even help you.", Ayaka advised.

"But…", Kosuke mumbled.

"It's okay, besides I'm happy that you finally got some friends to talk with. Before, you were a lone wolf.", Ayaka said, with a slightly grin at the end.

"Sis...", Kosuke mumbled in embarrassment.

Kosuke realized now that there was no reason for him to worry about. He could just go to literature club if he wanted.
He grabbed his school bag and went to school.
 
The morning classed passed on, fast it was time for lunch.
In front of him there was the group of literature club. 
They looked to Kosuke.

"So have you thought about joining us?", Sakura asked.

"Yeah, here is the entering request papers.", Kosuke said.

"Okay, I'll be taking it then.", said Sakura getting the papers.

"Are you the club president?", Kosuke asked.

"Yeah… In the first day those two couldn't stop arguing…", said Sakura looking at the other two boys with a slightly mad face.

"I'll be looking forward to the club.", Kosuke said.

The classes ended before Kosuke even realized. It was time for going to the literature club. Sakura, Shinoda and Saito were waiting for him. They all went together to the club, as they were from the same class. Sakura got a board to start what it seemed like a meeting in a firm. She wrote "Romcom vs Rom". 

"Romcom, what's your opinion about them?", asked Sakura.

"A more easy way to do romance.", said Yosuke.

"A more comedic approach to romance.", said Kazuya.

"I'm not sure, I never read one.", Kosuke said.

"Don't mind that genre it's just a bad romance put in a book.", Yosuke said, disconsiderating the work put in those books.

"Yosuke!", Kazuya said, fuming.

"You two calm down…", Sakura warned them.

Kosuke could see that was common for those two have fights. They had different taste that would eventually lead to different opinions. The rest of the first day in the club carried on. Sakura recommended Kosuke a romance book, so he could get a better and more informed opinion about literature. 
Back in Kosuke's home, Ayaka was bored, twiddling her thumbs, but still happy that her brother got friends to talk. It was a bittersweet feeling that she was having.
Sakura asked to Kosuke stay a little bit more, so she could talk to him about something, in private. Kosuke made a parallelism about the scene that happened in the romance that he read. Was she going to confess him? But she just met him… Impossible, he thought.
Sakura realized the embarrassment he had, so she decided to rag him.

"I wanted to ask you…", she said making a pause on her words.

Sakura got a moment and took a breath to make it look like a confession scene.
Kosuke was complete caught up in the atmosphere. He got deceived.

"If you are Okamoto-sensei's brother.", Sakura said, completely destroying the climax she created. 
 
Kosuke felt relieved, for some reason.

"I am.", he said, sighing.

"How is she doing? I saw her falling in ground, she looked stressed.", she said, worried about her.

"Well she is better now, but she's taking a break from teaching.", Kosuke said.

"What happened to her?", Sakura asked, with a wholesome worry in her eyes.

"Stress, and anxiety, you know, psychology stuff…", Kosuke said.

"I accidentally seen your address it isn't too far away from my home… Can I go say hi to her?", Sakura said.

"«accidentally», oi! Come if you want…", Kosuke said.

So that's what they did, after a long walk and a train ride, they got to Kosuke's home were Ayaka awaited him. She got surprised that one of their students came to visit her. They talked for an hour or so, about literature and how the school was doing. Eventually, Sakura had to go.
Ayaka realized that Kosuke was in a good group were he could find good friends. She was happy, but still worried, for some reason. She been only thinking about his brother. And the happiness and the smile Sakura made to Kosuke was making her slightly mad and envious, she didn't knew why, though.

An high school student by the name of Okamoto Kosuke was a person whom often distances himself from the world around him. He lives with his sister named Okamoto Ayaka, who is a teacher and does the exact opposite of him

"New methods every day…"
"I'm definitely going to watch Greedy Wolf Operation."
"I've already bought the tickets, I'll go and see it tonight."
Bai Shuangshuang and Yu Xingzhou's fans were scolding Lu Man, but as soon as a fan came out to scold her, they would instantly be attacked by the netizens.
So who else would dare to show themselves?
The person in charge: "…"
The f*ck… Lu Man reposting it like that, how could it not be on trending!
Why did he not think of this method!

*Sniff* *Sniff*

A black Silhouette of a wolf towering the height of three grown men weighing 5000 pounds came sniffing near the tree where James resided. It started following the path where James previously walked. Soon it came in front of the entrance of the cave.

The demonic wolf bared its teeth and started growling after it found out the gap between the trees. With its humungous body, it cannot even peek properly between the slits.

James who was in meditation pose woke up after hearing the growling noise of the wolf. A layer of sweat formed on his forehead. Even though he wasn't afraid of the demonic wolf, he wasn't confident in defeating it either. 

He could hear the demonic wolf banging its head on the tree trying to uproot the whole thing.

*Bang* *Bang*

If it was a normal Redwood tree, it might've uprooted in a single attack from the wolf. But the hollow spirit tree stood there for millenniums with its roots reaching the depths of the underworld. Even peak core formation cultivators would have to sweat to damage the tree.

The demonic wolf started to howl furiously after seeing its attack hasn't done much damage to the tree. It came up with a barrage of scratch with the steel-like nails. 

The attack wasn't doing much damage to the tree, but the scratches from it nails are making it discernable to the eyes. If any adventures passed by the tree might be able to notice the scratch marks and the secrets might get discovered. A single mouth is all it takes to make the enemy country wage war from all the sides. And the first one to get affected will be his family.

He looked at the wolf who's attacking the tree like it slept with his women. While the wolf was busy with the tree, James was busy charging his Qi towards his fist. 

His body was in full alert trying to find an opening. At first, the wolf looked like it is full of openings but his years of experience stopped him from making a move. Inside his mind, his instinct was screaming against attacking and to escape.

Being a muscle head, he chose to ignore his instinct and made a move.

He jumped towards the wolf with full force trying to aim the part between its eyes to maximize the damage. An attack like this usually works on a bigger target where it sends shockwave towards the brain and temporarily stunning the target. If performed correctly it can cause brain damage to the target or even killing it. 

This is a military technique which is fairly popular among adventures and hunters. But still, it takes strength to perform the technique; otherwise learning this technique is useless. A single mistake might lead them straight into its mouth. So no one would perform this trick unless they have a fellow member to distract the beast.

The Wolf which seemed full of openings suddenly turned its focus towards him. When he though his attack would connect, he was sent flying by the foot of the demonic wolf.

*Boom*

James crashed into a tree leaving a hole on its body. 

"Fuck" he cursed as he stood up. The attack was enough to injure a Peak Qi conversion expert fatally, but he was a Physique cultivator, so that much damage was considered a minimum for him.

Wiping off the blood from his mouth, he searched for a path to escape. He underestimated the enemy. Looking at its eye, he could see intelligence and cunningness. This is in no way a normal Demonic king; he estimated the wolf is at least 500 years old from its intelligence. Humans have the advantage of fighting a beast because of their low intelligence as they could use traps and tactics to win. But it's opposite in case of intelligent Beasts as they lost their advantage and had to face with overwhelming strength and power. James is now facing the same disadvantage.

He used his feet to dig some soil on the ground and made a kicking motion on the air. The dirt on his foot sprayed on its eyes-- it was distracted for a second. Using the opportunity, he dashed towards the outskirts of the forest. He heard a rumor while he was a child that the Demonic King from the Dark Demon Forest would never leave the forest. And there wasn't a case of Demonic beast leaving the woods and running amok on the city.  So he was gambling his life on the rumor to escape the threat.

The wolf was furious from his cheap trick. Its pride was hurt seeing the human tricked it by using cheap means. It dashed towards the escaping James while demolishing everything on its way.

*Awoooo*

It let a long howl as it was chasing James. It was an order to other beasts to chase after the human and stop him at all costs. 

One after one, numerous beasts popped up from the forest. Many were already in front of him growling at the incoming prey.

James unsheathed his sword from his waist and easily sliced the weak beasts using his sword and dodged the monsters which take time to handle.

With over a 100 beasts chasing him, he couldn't afford to look back. But hearing the sounds, he could guess the Demonic wolf wasn't chasing after him now. 

He sighed in relief.

He was nearing the outskirts of the forest. He reached here in 10 minutes which usually should've taken him a couple of hours. Looking at the lush grass at the height of a grown man he was sure that he was at the end of the forest. 

He felt relieved knowing that he escaped successfully. But his relief didn't last for long.

He suddenly felt danger from his instinct. He looked at his right, the Demonic Wolf which was hidden inside the tall grasses dived at him at lightning fast speed.

He wanted to dodge, but it was too late. The Wolf already buried its teeth deep into his flesh. His whole middle body was inside its mouth except for his head and legs hanging out from the sides.

Blood flowed like a fountain from its mouth. With the loss of too much blood, he lost consciousness.

A child with his Ancient bloodline awoken gets killed in a plot. He then reincarnates into another universe with the spirit of the previous universe source sticking with his soul.

(Dakota Gray's POV)

The moment I was born, there were already things hunting me. I was the daughter of a vampire, and a werewolf, better known as a shapeshifter. War had broken out between the shifters and vampires the last time one of these children was born. That was centuries ago. Now, the werewolves and vampires simply kept their distance. My mother and father couldn't. My father was a werewolf, my mother a vampire. Vampires aren't supposed to have children. The children are too bloodthirsty, too powerful. They'll cause chaos. Many will die. I was different. Because of my father being a werewolf, I wasn't born fully a vampire. I wasn't as bloodthirsty. But being part vampire does mean I have to feed on blood occasionally. Usually once a month. Otherwise I can feed normally. I do prefer human food. Especially tacos. Those are really good. But back to the story. 
My parents raised me away from the pack. Although my father's pack wouldn't be able to attack my mother (because he imprinted on her) they chose to raise me away from it all. They don't even know I exist. It's for the best.

Twenty years we lived in the outskirts of Alaska. Sure, it was rough at first for my parents. They had a baby on the way and no where to go. But slowly they were able to find a living. 
My father taught me everything I needed to know about survival, my mother taught me elegance, and all that of a lady. I was home schooled. I suppose they knew that one day they'd be found and I would have to take off into the world. I still remember their last words to me. 

It was a regular day, unlike any other. My father had been coming home from work (at a construction sight). I had been upstairs in my room, reading a book (paranormal romance, it's quite interesting to see how humans perceive vampires. Quite hilarious. Not all vampires are muscular or bulky and hot, trust me I know). I suddenly heard my parents arguing, then my mother rushing up the stairs. 
She was beautiful, long curly chocolate brown locks, golden eyes, slightly tan skin. She usually dressed well too. My father always said I looked like her (except for the eyes. Mine were gray, like my father's, and they turned silver when I turned into a wolf)
"Dakota!" She yelled at me. She was worried and frantic. She started looking around my room. 
"Mom! What's wrong?" I was totally confused at the moment. 
Then she found what she was looking for. It was my emergency backpack. It had some of my clothes, a first aid kit, money and other stuff. 
"Mom...?" 
"Dakota, listen to me. You need to go. Remember everything we've taught you. Use your skills. Get out of here. They've found us. Find the Cullens, they'll know what to do. Forks, Washington! Go!" My mother had pushed me out of the house. I tried to stay back. 
Just as I was about to head back I saw my father, in wolf form (huge wolf black with specks of gray in his fur, silver eyes, a deep growl) he was fighting someone. Clawing at them. I saw enough to know it was a vampire. His skin glistened in the faint sunlight. The vampire was faster than my father. He grabbed my father, all I heard was a whimper and a crack. I couldn't bear to look. I knew enough from hearing my mother's scream. 
I ran. I couldn't go back. I needed to find whoever those Coles, wait no Cullens, were. Ma said they would help, I could only hope she was right. For now, I had to find the nearest town. 

Which takes me back here, where I am now. It was safer to travel in daylight, or at least where there was more people. But at this time there was nobody traveling anywhere. My best option was to find a hotel or motel somewhere. Then I could at least be safe for tonight. I was tired anyways. I had taken on my wolf form to get to town faster. I only hope that no one saw me.
