My father offered food in Italian, French and Chinese cuisine.The table was beautiful decorated with Lasagna,ossobuco, Florentine steak, cassoulate, flamiche, salade Niçoise, tofu, spring rolls,dumplings and many more dishes. Deserted also had a large variety including tiramisu, panna Coti, apple pie, cassata and a variety of ice creams. The cooks have worked really hard today,still my mother will be the one to earn all the praise. 

"You are beautiful! Exactly as I've heard about you."

Dela Costello spoke to me, I was a bit shocked.From where has she heard about me? Franco,grinned and his dad paid no attention, just glanced me for a second and continued having sip of his wine. 

"Thanks."

I replied simply. Dela was sweet, I was feeling comfortable of her existence better than the rest of the people around table, excluding Cindy, obviously! She was beautiful and charismatic.She was just like any other trophy wife but she knew how to talk politely without bragging of her husband's sinful money. Cindy was sitting right next to me. Franco was exactly sitting opposite of me, my dad usually sits at the end of the table but today he offered his seat to Robecco Costello.His wife sat to his right,and father to left my mother sat beside him.Neel was not present in the lunch as he had his soccer practice. Franco was occasionally giving me glances which were neither serious nor flirtatious.I could not understand his intentions and that is just killing me from inside. 

"You prepared good food. we are delighted."

Franco's mother said to my mom.

"pleasure, you like it."

My mother knows,how to talk politely.

Rest of the lunch went quietly and  occasional bussiness talks between father, Robecco Costello and Franco. Me and Cindy sat quietly,observing Franco time to time. He caught me glancing him twice but didn't said anything rather gave his dangerous one sided grin, which took my nervousness to another level. The lunch was over and Mr and Mrs Costello went to their room in our apartment.My dad left for a meeting and my mother was commanding servants to function  accordingly,which left only I,Cindy and Franco in the hall.

"I assume that Neel must have delivered my message."

Said franco,increasing my nervousness all the more.

"Huh... yes, he said,you wanted to meet."

I said, not bothering to hide my nervousness anymore .
Franco glanced at Cindy and she stood up,saying,

"I'll take my leave now."

I too stood and hugged her to whisper in elder ears to stay nearby.

There was few moments of silence in the hall when Franco spoke.

"You know the purpose,why we are here?"

"Your father is getting death threats and it was not possible for your family to stay at a hotel as it would be dangerous."

I told as much as I knew. 

"Yes, that's the reason but not the only reason.If it was only related to safety purpose then we wouldn't have been in Paris in the very first place."

He stated as a matter of fact and I realised how silly of me not to consider the fact before. 

"Is there any other reason to visit here?"

I asked,when I knew what the answer could be. He answered,

"Yes, it's related to our marriage and I wanted to talk to you about that."

What... it's too early for a conversation like this to take place,I wasn't ready for this now. 

"I was informed about it yesterday itself."

I said.

"So, what's your thought about marriage?"

He asked a question,which wasn't asked to any female in our world. Is he really good or just wearing a mask to fulfill his intentions. I did not respond for moments,then he asked again,

"You can share your thoughts with me."

"If it's concerned with my family and their pride,then I'll marry to anyone they choose for me."

I stated.

"Well, that's courageous of you,but I actually want to know your opinion."

There was genuineness in his eyes, urging me to open my heart before him,to share each and every aspect of my life with him.But there was a line stopping me to reach him that was the line of trust,which I could not cross, not at least now when I don't know enough of him. 

"This world is where I've been born and I'll die in this world only. So whatever the fate brings me is acceptable to me."

I said,trying to sound authentic. I could not tell him the truth that I am not good marrying to any man of my world. I could not muster the fact to tell him things like that, how I feel about the men in mafia world. 

"OK, then we can go on an actual date as you don't have any objections regarding marrying me."

Franco said, he is future mafia of Italy,but he is different.Different from many people I know, different from those other mafia men, different from my father. Something in his eyes asks me to trust him and let him take care of me. But this could all be deceptive,not everything that seems to real is actually real. 

"Yes... sure."

I said,replying to his proposal for a date. 
Not actually a proposal,he suggested to go on a date. 

"Then we can decide a date after tomorrow's party."

He said. 

"Wait, are you gonna stay here after that."

I asked quickly then realised how impolite of me to say that. 
Franco laughed,I saw him laugh for the first time and that gorgeous laugh that lit his face up and his eyes shone with that wide smile.He is handsome. 

"We will see that."

He left leaving me meddled in thoughts in the thoughts of date.

"No...no..." Gu Mengmeng grabbed onto Elvis's hand. She was clearly on the brink of collapse but she suddenly gained energy and clung onto Elvis's wrist tightly like a forceps. Her crescent eyebrows were furrowed into a dead knot and she clenched her teeth while persevering on exerting strength every round. Gu Mengmeng's face was as pale as a sheet and she looked like she could not hang in there anymore. 
"Xiao Meng, I love you." Elvis said while evolving his hand into wolf claws, extending it towards the little wolf cub stuck in Gu Mengmeng's body. 
Gu Mengmeng clenched her teeth and howled with a low and hoarse voice, "If you dare touch my child, I'll die in front of you!" 
Elvis froze and he dared not move again. He clenched his teeth and could not do anything to Gu Mengmeng. 
She targeted his Achilles' heel directly, causing him to not be able to resist at all. 
Upon seeing Elvis give up the idea of hurting the baby, Gu Mengmeng put her heart slightly at ease. She tried to ignore the pain from her lower body and adjust her breathing each time. Until she felt that her body recovered slightly, she then told Elvis, "Use your claws to slice open my flesh where the baby is stuck at. Be careful, don't hurt the baby's head. That way, he can come out easier and I won't be in so much pain." 
Elvis frowned as he stared at Gu Mengmeng, rooted to the spot. 
"Listen to me. Over at our side, this is called episiotomy, an ordinary labor measure." Elvis was still frowning and after remaining silent for a long time, he said, "I can't....hurt you." 
Gu Mengmeng was really speechless and she struggled with her might to sit up straight. She held Elvis's head with one hand and pulled him to herself. With their foreheads placed against each other, she said, "If you don't do it, both me and the child will die. You just have to slit a small opening on my body for both of us to be safe and sound. You're not hurting me, you're saving me and the baby." 
Elvis frowned but he could not oppose Gu Mengmeng's pleading gaze so he eventually nodded his head and lied back between Gu Mengmeng's legs. With his sharp claws, he aimed straight at the place where the baby's head was stuck. Elvis's gaze was deep. He was hesitating...should he choose to kill the baby and not hurt Gu Mengmeng but undertake her hatred? Or should he listen to Gu Mengmeng and slice her flesh to let this evil creature be born?

The sentence that Gu Mengmeng howled with blood-streaked eyes kept replaying in Elvis's mind. He was neither afraid to be hated by Gu Mengmeng nor afraid of what Gu Mengmeng would do to him but he was afraid of her hurting herself. 
Shaking, his sharp nails slitted Gu Mengmeng's flesh and the blood flowed down from the wound. Gu Mengmeng grasped the timing right because of the pain and pushed hard, almost fainting from all the agony. 
But luckily, the next moment, her stomach emptied and she knew...her last baby was safely born. 
Although Elvis was quite unwilling, he still licked the kid, who made Gu Mengmeng go through all sorts of hardship, thoroughly and clean before placing it next to the other three. 
Gu Mengmeng already fainted from depleting all her energy. Elvis carried her over from Lea with his heart breaking to pieces. Without her bulging stomach, she was all bony and light, looking frail and weak. This made Elvis feel extremely uneasy. He liked the chubby Gu Mengmeng and prefer her pulling his ear domineeringly, calling herself queen. He did not like how she was so quiet like a doll whose soul was emptied, not lively at all. Elvis peered over at the four cubs sleeping soundly, his mood becoming complicated.

Lu Zhiyu placed the dinosaur egg on the shelf and researched the origins of the egg. It was from a small carnivorous dinosaur called Sinosauropteryx. Lu Zhiyu took the dinosaur genes from the egg, then combined the dinosaur genes with bird and insect genes. This way, he created a template for Titan Dragons.
The bodies of the Titan Dragons were created based on aerodynamics theories and a bird's body structure. Lu Zhiyu used a sleeker model, giving the dragons a beautiful form. Paired with the shiny scales, they had the feeling of a fantastical epic. 
On top of this foundation, Lu Zhiyu also fused the deified cells of a mythical creature called the Ancient Dragon God with an ovum to eventually produce the dragon egg. From the very moment the dragon egg's consciousness developed, he combined the deified cells and the consciousness of the Titan Dragon. The complete Titan Dragon template and the imprint containing memory inheritance were all flooded into the consciousness of this tiny fetus.
Lu Zhiyu could feel the mind immediately become active. Despite not being born yet, it already had all the memories and traits it would inherit from the Titan Dragon. According to Lu Zhiyu's design, they were an ancient race of dragons from the astral world and had their own language. Even the newborn dragons would be able to use spells of the dragon language.
Because a real Ancient Dragon God's template was way too powerful, Lu Zhiyu decided that he would divide the Titan Dragons into five subspecies, each of which would have a different color and a different power. Other than the slight difference in their appearances, there would also be clear differences in abilities. Lu Zhiyu had also modified their throats so they could digest food and spit out fire.
The different subspecies would have different personalities and mental capacities as well. Lu Zhiyu also added in the greediness and affection of treasures of the dragons into the genetic level.
The white dragons could control ice and water vapor. As these dragons evolved, they could even control air and the atmosphere. The red dragons could control fire, green dragons could control wind, black dragons could control water, and blue dragons that lived in the deserts and could control the earth and sand. All these dragons were real sapient creatures with high intelligence.
Because of the differences in the dragons' living environments, Lu Zhiyu wasn't planning on placing them in specific locations. Instead, he used the dimensional gate to send them out. Of course, he would place them far away from where people were located, such as the unnamed and uninhabited islands in the middle of the ocean, the vast, empty deserts on the continent of Alen, and the deep, dark forests on the continent of Yala.
He spent a few more months observing these dragons and collecting stats relating to them. He verified that he had not made a mistake in creating deity this way and was satisfied.
All the deities and magical beasts he had created before had supernatural power as well, but they didn't have room for growth. All of them were very powerful when they were born, and they would remain that way. Their strength was set in stone when they were born, and they could never increase it.
Lu Zhiyu combined the dragons' cells with the imprints of deified cells and then placed imprint the inheritance into the defied cell. This way, he made sure that these dragons could continuously grow stronger and form an evolution system for the deities.
The shells of the dragon eggs were all very strong, almost as strong as metal. But when the dragons were ready to be born, the eggs would secrete a special fluid that would soften the eggshells, allowing the baby dragons to be born. After they were born, the dragon babies would consume the shells. The special components in those shells would help the newborn dragons grow their scales.
After some more experiments, Lu Zhiyu scattered the eggs throughout the world and only kept a red dragon for himself. Most of these dragons were very developed in the eggs already. Soon, these dragons would hatch and become the first generation of Titan Dragons in Maria's World.

The Luhmann Kingdom's Rosa d'Oro family was the first marine family a hundred years ago and were among the first to gain riches from sea trade. Back then, they were a top family in Luhmann Kingdom that had countless riches and fleets. Their control over the sea routes especially helped the eighth head of the Rosa d'Oro family, George Elvis, become the king's Master of Coins.
Back then during their richest times, it was rumored that the Rosa d'Oro family was rich enough to buy the entire kingdom if they wanted to.
However, the family started going downhill ever since the time of George Elvis. Thirty years previous, the brother of the head of the family, Shrode Elvis, was killed by the Children of the Sea during one of his expeditions, and the ships disappeared. Another fleet also went missing. This was a great hit to the family. They lost a dozen ships and goods, as well as sailors who'd been loyal for decades.
The family lost their sea routes as more Children of the Sea began to appear. The family's entire trade coalition was built on sea trade, and it fell apart due to this. Their old enemies also resurfaced and kept attacking them. Because of this, they not only lost a vast amount of wealth, they also lost the Master of Coins position they'd gained over the years.
In less than thirty years, the prosperous family had gone from able to buy the country to being too insignificant to speak of. The earl of Elvis had become a mere baron. The lord of a huge territory became the overseers of a few small border villages. Two of the fishing villages couldn't even afford to pay taxes.
The large family dwindled down to not even two dozen members, and its heirs had lost their pride as they fought over a position with meager income. They'd completely forgotten about their past glory.
The last remaining members of the family were all gathered in a broken castle, discussing who the family seat should go to. The baron's wife stood on a podium and announced loudly, "The person that can conquer the ocean will become the patriarch!"
"What does that mean?"
"What constitutes 'conquering the ocean'?"
"Go into the sea and kill a sea monster. Bring its corpse back," the baroness read from the will. "That is his last wish. Anyone who can accomplish it will be the next baron!"
The castle instantly fell into uproar. One of the heirs went forward. "Was Father mad? It's impossible! We have no ships; we only have small fishing boats. We have no sailors; we only have fishermen. We have no powerful Bloodline Knight guards either. There is no way we can kill a monster!"
"That is impossible. Does he think we're the Rosa d'Oro family from before?"
They all discussed animatedly. The entire family seemed to believe the late baron was mad. He'd always fantasized about their previous glory. The Elvis family had risen because of the sea and then fallen due to the sea monsters.
The baron wanted the family to recover its name, so he made this crazy will to find someone who could help the family get back on its feet again. But to the current family, it wasn't possible. It was only to kill one sea monster instead of the supernatural Children of the Sea, but it wasn't something a regular man could do. They would at least need a powerful fleet, powerful weapons, and strong Bloodline Knights to accomplish it.
Suddenly, a young man wearing armor burst into the room. He hurried over to the baroness and took off his helmet. It was the third son of the late baron who'd gone to the army. He'd rushed back after learning of his father's death.
"I, Rooney Elvis," he announced loudly, "am willing to complete father's quest."


By accident, Lu Zhiyu found the entrance to a low-dimensional world, and thus began a totally different journey!

Free to control everything in the low-dimensional game, Lu Zhiyu felt like a gamemaster, and even God.


The town of Dove was known as a bustling trade city. Through its heart ran a river, which emptied out onto the nearby sea. The city itself hosted fishermen, travelers, and tradesmen of all kinds. The city was built out of a unique white sandstone, which gave it the appearance of an oddly shaped pearl resting next to the ocean. Tall white spires stretched out from various buildings, and several of them were topped with big white domes. Those structures were generally used by mages and tradesmen who specialized in magical goods, and the biggest of them all was where the greatest known library for magical knowledge was housed - the Mage's Library. Even from a distance, Rosa could see the dome, capped in extravagant magical symbols that reflected the sun in all directions.

The city boasted a host of guards for standard law enforcement, but it had no standing military. With the Mage's Library, nobody would dare attack Dove for fear of sparking magical retaliation. Even the ruling class of Dove were all mages with ancient family ties. The defenses were said to be without peer, though they were rarely used. Rosa had the honor of seeing Dove's magical barrier only once before, and it had left a lasting impression.

However, as if to contrast her excitement, Cyn became more and more lethargic as the city came closer. His shoulders were slumped in defeat, and several times Rosa heard him muttering things like "maybe if I tell them I have a stomach ache," or "I wonder if he's still around..." Sensing his mood, she gave him some distance, though she could scarcely understand why he looked so moody. Dove was a magician's dream city, but Cyn was reacting as if he was being forced on some errand he couldn't stand. 

In the last five days, there had been no threat whatsoever. Despite heightened paranoia, nothing of interest had been spotted after Cyn had joined them. In that time, the pyromancer had gotten along splendidly with the Desert Rats, and Rosa's training had progressed as well. After the initial scare of producing too much fire, she had worked to control the size of the flame and the location she summoned it from. Now, she could produce a flame large enough to light a candle with a small amount of concentration, and the flame would not expand unless she willed it. While Rosa was delighted, she realized she was a long way from producing the pillars of fire Cyn had created with a single swipe of the burnt elm staff. 

Cyn as a person was quite carefree. When he wasn't helping train Rosa, or assisting the Desert Rats with their various duties, he would chat with Emil about various bits of information. He never complained about the desert heat, and he was always happy with what little rations he was given. Rosa had given him one of the refilling canteens, but it mostly just became an ornament for the camel he was riding. True to what he had said when Emil questioned him, the pyromancer preferred to travel light and left any and all gear he was given with his camel. Most of the time, when given an item to help with a task, his eyes would look off into the distance and his trademark smile would slowly appear on his face, like he had been told some sort of personal joke. The same expression appeared on his face whenever he was asked about his origins or family, to which he usually would mumble about them being very far away and leaving it at that. He often slept on the camel while they were travelling, but Rosa suspected it was some sort of act. At least once she had caught him peeking at her with one eye. While it didn't seem perverted in nature, she was careful to conduct herself properly when he was watching.

As they neared the gates, a checkpoint station came into view. While Dove had no fear of invasion, they still had to keep vigilant for outlaws and troublemakers. However, Rosa's group didn't wait in line with the rest, Emil having decided to speed up the process by approaching the guard station directly. Rosa didn't have a problem with it, but she wondered if it was really the best idea to draw attention now.

When Emil approached the guard station, several men wearing intricately carved armor emptied out of it. Many of the armor pieces were crafted from full plate and etched with various magical symbols or adorned with magical stones. Like with Emil's armor, this denoted someone of higher rank than the average civilian, and Rosa wondered what had brought the men to the station in the first place, but now wasn't the time for such questions.

"Emil and his pack of rodents, I see," sneered the most prominent of figures. A man in silver-colored armor stepped out from the bunch, his mail-covered hand stroking his thin mustache in mock contemplation. "And what makes you too important to stay in line with the rest of the rabble today?"

Emil didn't respond to the taunt, instead tilting his head in acknowledgement of the armored man. "Master Costello, today I am here in the capacity of escort. Returning with Miss Dupardone and requested materials, on the orders of the Archmage. Please let my group pass through."

Rosa looked over at Cyn to see how he would respond to the names Emil was using, but found the back of his head instead, as he was busy looking over at a part of the city wall. Was he oblivious, or merely carefree? She couldn't tell. Sighing, she returned her gaze to the gaudily-dressed soldier. 

Costello smirked and looked her over with a mix of interest and disdain, stroking his mustache absentmindedly, "Only the third daughter of that old coot. What makes her so special? I hear she's barely even a magic caster. Now he's got her running errands too? What materials are you bringing back?"

Emil gestured to a few packs on the camels. "Rare books from the East. An addition for the library. Also a few rare materials. The Archmage should be expecting us." His gaze lingered on Cyn for a moment, but he kept mum about the pyromancer. It would be hard to explain where he came from, or the circumstances for their meeting. Plus, if word got out he was a pyromancer, he'd cause a big enough fuss by mere existence alone. With only four known users of that specific art, the sudden appearance of a fifth would stir things up significantly. Plus, Rosa's addition to that number would make it six, even if she had only mastered a very basic form of it. In a town like Dove, where knowledge was considered power, the mere hint of old knowledge was like droplets of water hitting a smooth pond surface - the ripples would reach quite far already.

Costello shrugged pompously after a moment. "Very well. You and your rabble can pass. Just don't cause the market district any trouble, unless you'd like to feel my enchanted blade cutting you." His hand rested on the hilt of a curved sword, the sheathe of which was decorated in semiprecious stones and magical symbols. Another symbol of rank, the symbols were a form of sharpening and strengthening enchantment that only high level soldiers with magical ability could wield. Costello was a power-hungry weasel, but he at least had some power of his own.

Emil nodded his head and returned to the group of camels. When he was close enough, he locked eyes with Rosa. "Miss Rosaline, I believe this more or less concludes our contract. I'll accompany you as far as the Mage's Library to collect payment. I will have to charge for the losses we went through as well." His eyes twitched for a moment, and Rosa recalled the sand worms once more. Emil turned to Cyn and tilted his head. "Something the matter, Master Cyn?"

"Hmm?" Cyn returned his attention to the leader of the group, his smile frozen in place like a mask. When he realized he had been asked a question, he scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. "Sorry, what was that?"

Emil smiled and shrugged. "We're almost done with our business here, do you have any plans while you're in Dove, Master Cyn? It's not great, but my group could provide lodging until you've decided what you're doing next. I would offer you a place in our group, but I doubt a man of your... talents would like the meager pay we offer."

Cyn shook his head politely and held up a hand. "I'm fine." He looked like he wanted to add more, but after a moment or two he resumed looking at the nearby city walls, his eyes narrowing as he focused on smaller details. Emil took it as a cessation of the conversation and shrugged.

Rosa followed Cyn's line of sight and realized he was looking at a cluster of magical symbols used for defense of Dove. "Are you interested in Dove's defenses? My father might be able to tell you more."

Cyn finally turned his head back to the group and was wearing his trademark smile. "It's nothing," he told them, waving the matter aside. "Are we going to the library, then?"

Rosa was happy to see the return of the pyromancer's smile, and nodded in return. "Yes, we have to drop off the supplies we brought here, and I must let my father know what happened. I'm sure he'd be interested to meet you, and I have to show him the fruits of the training you've shown me."

"No problem!" Cyn replied, urging his camel to follow the group as Emil once again led the way into the city.

Cyn is a wanderer with an air of mystery about him. Wherever he goes, miracles follow. He has no interest in wealth, responsibility, or fame, and he avoids conflict like the plague. However, those that meet him quickly realize that there's more to this self-proclaimed wanderer than meets the eye.

One day, by chance, Cyn happens to save a Rosa and her friends. While the others are thankful, Rosa immediately feels something off about the man, who carries no rations, water, or survival gear in the middle of the desert. 

And so, let the adventures of Rosa and Cyn begin!

Lucien's first impression about the Dark Mountain Range could be defined by the word "huge". The peaks were huge, trees huge, vines huge, as well as the beasts in there.
Tall trees of over a hundred meters were everywhere, and somehow their leaves were black, blocking the sunlight from above, so even if it was daytime when one walked in the mountains, it always felt like nightfall.
Stepping on the squashy soil and layers of rotten leaves, it was hard for one to tell where the solid ground was and where the dangerous gobs were. At the same time, one should be very careful with the vicious snakes and spiders that no one could predict when and where they would pop out from.
Some rotten stuff in the mountains brought forth some toxic miasma. Standing some distance away, the miasma even looked colorful. Even the knights could really use some caution there.
However, in this harsh environment, Lucien walked calmly in the forest wearing a white shirt, black double-breasted suit, and his monocle, as if he was wandering on the streets of Aalto or Rentato.
"Mr. Elvis, how long do we still need to arrive at the magic tower of the Nightmare King?" Lucien asked the liaison beside him.
The liaison, Elvis, looked very ordinary. Most of the time his job was to buy some materials and goods from the adventures and then sell them to the sorcerers living close to the fortification in the Dark Mountain Range. Many adventures knew his connection to the ancient sorcerers, so when they dealt with Elvis, they were quite careful.
However, Lucien knew him better due to the information provided by the Congress. Elvis was not simply a businessman, instead, he might have some connections to the Nightmare King. Lucien found Elvis in a campsite for adventurers, and within his expectation, although he described his mission using quite ambiguous words, Elvis instantly understood what Lucien was there for.
Wearing the black tight suit, Elvis walked fast and swiftly like a cheetah full of strength. Hearing Lucien's question, he responded without looking back, "At least half month, Mr. X. You should know that this isn't a good place for flying unless you're of legendary level, and rushing around can also put you into serious trouble."
Lucien did not tell Elvis his true name. He used X as his pseudonym.
Lucien slightly nodded. It was said that above the Dark Mountain Range in the sky, there were lots of space gaps that connected to other dangerous dimensions. Furthermore, dragons in the forest were also constantly watching their territory as well as the sky above, not to mention those lightning eagles, griffins and carrion birds patrolling around.
Stepping on the soft, squashy leaves, a greenish yellow snake suddenly sprang up and bit Lucien's calf.
However, the bite almost broke the snake's fangs. The snake twitched and then escaped away hurriedly in the rotten leaves and branches.
As soon as they entered the mountains, Lucien had carefully cast Stone Skin and Douglas' Absorbing Wall on himself. He knew that this was a place where he had to be extremely careful.
"How did I fail to sense it?" Lucien murmured. He was asking Elvis, and also himself. It did not make any sense that a fourth-circle sorcerer failed to notice that a snake was going to attack him, despite the fact that they were surrounded by the miasma.
Elvis also slightly frowned, "My sense is also less sharp here. I wonder if there are any senior-rank creatures around…"
The route that he was taking with Lucien was through gaps between the many territories owned by the magical creatures.
After checking around, Elvis slightly deviated from their planned path. Then, they kept moving forward. After all, there was not really a "path" in the Dark Mountain Range.
As soon as they took another few more steps, Lucien heard some strange squeaking noise.
A huge spider unexpectedly dropped from the sky. Its colorful pattern on the back was like a human being's face smiling in a creepy way, and its sharp poison fangs were like threatening daggers. At the bottom, there were two huge human arms covered by the black carapace. Each of the twelve fingers on the hand had a hundred and twenty joints in total.
When the spider landed, its white and thick threads joined together and become a huge web. The web shot out directly toward Lucien and Elvis.
Light flashed on Lucien's wrist, and a big fireball was instantly summoned. Then, the fireball burned down the spider web in a few seconds!
As a sorcerer, Lucien, of course, had some basic knowledge about the common magic creatures.
Although the spider was huge, it moved very swiftly like a level three grand knight. Its joints were making squeaking noises.
At this time, the noise became louder and louder. More huge, colorful spiders had arrived, surrounding Lucien and Elvis in the center.
Transformed spiders lived exclusively in the Dark Mountain Range. They had heads like human beings. After growing mature, its power could match that of a level three knight. They moved very fast, and they often hunted together. Because they could use illusionary magic and they were good at teamwork, those spiders could kill enemies who were even much stronger than them.
Lucien knew the facts about the spiders well. In the next second, he cast Scare, and invisible magic waves extended in all directions.
Elvis was not affected because of the magic item he was wearing.
Most of the spiders panicked and their team formation became dispersed. Making the eerily noise, the rest of the spiders managed to resist the magic power and rushed fiercely toward them.
Some of the spiders used Hypnotism; some spread out thick webs; and some were going to directly attack them in their face with their fangs, pincers, and venom!
Elvis quickly took a glance at Lucien to complain because he did not take him into consideration when casting Scare, and then he lifted a black hammer about the size of a human head to get prepared for the fight.
Although he understood that Mr. X had enough reasons to use the ranged spell, and the influence of Scare was not permanent. He still felt a bit unhappy with the fact.
Every time when he dropped the hammer at the spiders, there was the powerful flame. After a few strikes, a spider was completely squashed by Elvis. The spiders illusionary magic did not work because of the amulet he was wearing.
It seemed that Elvis should be a level-four grand knight. However, Lucien still had no idea what his Blessing was.
Lucien was protected by a wall written with countless magic symbols and patterns, absorbing all the green waves from the spiders' Hypnotism and the black smoke to make people panic. At the same time, using his Amboula Staff to pinpoint the enemies, Lucien quickly killed another spider with a big fireball.
After the buffering time was gone, Lucien pointed at the spiders who were casting spells and shooting spider nets some distance away with his magic staff.
Dark clouds appeared above the spiders and then they were directly struck by the summoned lightning bolts. The spiders were burned black within seconds.
This was the fourth-circle Electromagnetics spell, Thunder Cloud. Lucien built it in his soul after coming back to Aalto. Another spell that he built was a unique spell, Maskelyne's Curse.
After a while, all the spiders were killed by Lucien and Elvis.
"Mr. Elvis, any problems?" asked Lucien when seeing Elvis' serious look. In Lucien's mind, in the Dark Mountain Range, encountering monsters and magic creatures was more than normal. Lucien was even about to collect the spiders' fangs and venom.
Elvis looked around in an insecure manner and said, "Mr. X… there shouldn't be these many spiders, unless…"
There was one horrible possibility.
Before Lucien asked, he suddenly felt very nervous from the power he sensed.
Hurriedly, Lucien saw a huge lizard-like creature flying in the air with its bat-shaped wings, as if it was running away from something.
"Red Dragon?!" burst out Lucien. A red dragon was at the top of the creatures chain!
Lucien was quite regretful that he did not have a cellphone to take a picture of the dragon. After all, it was the first time that he saw a huge dragon with his own eyes.
However, Elvis panicked, "We're in trouble now! We're in the devil's territory!"
Then, he started to run out of panic.
"What do you mean?" Lucien was confused. However, he had no choice but to run after Elvis as fast as possible.
Elvis calmed down a bit, as if he was looking for something. He answered Lucien fretfully, "It is said that there was a legendary peak in the Dark Mountain Range that could move around like a living being. People cannot tell the difference between it and the normal hills. As long as one enters the area, the person can never get out! There was only one way to tell… Creatures close the area would become crazy! No rules could be followed anymore!"
Lucien had never heard anything like this in the Congress. When he was about to ask, Elvis gave out a shrill cry! Countless huge vines burst out of the ground and tightened around him! Then many sharp, dark red thorns penetrated his skin!
Hurriedly, Lucien was about to cast Elemental Order to save Elvis. However, on the trunk of a huge tree beside them, two rows of big, black eyes suddenly opened!
Colorful rays shot out of those eyes, and they hit Lucien's protection wall directly.
The magic symbols and patterns on the wall instantly swelled and exploded, and the wall was gone within seconds!
In this strange area, Lucien totally ignored the fact that this was the horrible Scarlet Tree. He got hit by several magic rays with many negative effects that could paralyze, slow down or freeze people, or make them feel drowsy. Lucien really had no chance to activate his flame shield!
Feeling drowsy and dizzy, he started to lose his eyesight. In the last second, he used all his effort and activated his Holm Crown Ring, Element.
Colorful light spots appeared around Lucien and together formed a few extremely dangerous swirls, preventing other creatures or things from approaching Lucien.
This was not for attacking, but to defend!
Lucien hoped that Elemental Swirl could keep him safe. Then, in the next second, his mind sank into the boundless darkness.

I am Rosabella Costello, a 21st century skilled agent. Also known as the "Black Rose", I'm am the agency's best and brightest. 

I just finished my most recent mission, to retrieve the world's most priceless data that is encrypted in two rings. Each ring on each important person. The first ring, is worn by the prime minister of the Russian federation. The second is with the defence minister of the US. 

One ring on its own does not work. However, paired with the second ring, this can cause major confidential information to be leaked into the black market. 

The rings contain information of those in witness protection program which are people who help testified against mafia bosses and gang leaders around the world. Is this gets out, many people in the would will die. As many would seek revenge for their leaders and kill this in the program. Therefore it is crucial that this information is not in the wrong hands. 

Two weeks ago, my agency received the emergency buzzer which was only activated during a world crisis. Like a world war for an example. Then, a week ago, I received intel on where the information was going to be sold, and where the rings would be. 

Now, here I am, celebrating my victory alone in first class, on the way back to the united states of america to return the rings. 

Little did I know that my celebration would be cut short abruptly...

THEN THE NEXT DAY SHE WIPED HER TEARS AND GOT READY, KAYLA WAS ON HER WAY TO THE HOSPITAL TO SEE ELVIS, AS SHE GOT THERE SHE WALK TO THE FRONT DESK, AND ASK TO SEE ELVIS, THEN THE LADY SAID WALK DOWN THE HALL THE LEFT HAND SIDE YOU SEE A ROOM THAT IS WHERE EVERYBODY IS WAITING TO SEE HIM AT, SO SHE SAID THANKS, AS SHE STEP IN THE ROOM SHE SEEN THE MOB FAMILY, THERE WAS SO MANY PEOPLE IN THE ROOM, JUST AS SHE WALKED IN THE DOCTOR WAS RIGHT BEHIND HER WALKING INTO THE ROOM AND ASKED TO TALK TO THE FATHER.

Elvis Richards was seated under a neatly fashioned
bamboo shed, he had a bottle and a glass of wine in front
of him. The excellent lightening in the compound made it
so beautiful and bright as it always looked in the day.
Elvis glanced towards the gate as it opened and Ken
drove in with Dakolo. He walked out of the shed and
began to proceed towards the car park where Ken was
driving to. He got there before Ken and Dakolo.
Ken hurriedly parked the car and killed the engine.
Dakolo was the first to step out, he turned at once to
meet with the Vice President who was standing by the
side.
'Good evening sir,' Dakolo greeted with a bow. Ken also
joined him and greeted in the same manner. There was
no response to the greeting from the Vice President, he
just stared at them while he tossed his phone from one
hand to the other.
'Why are you guys keeping me in darkness?' He finally
spoke after several seconds of making them feel
uncomfortable with his gaze. 'Why was E.G Henry
arrested without my knowledge?' He faced Dakolo and
directed the question to him.
'Sir…' Dakolo began hesitatingly, he paused to clear his
throat and put on more boldness. 'We were actually
going to tell you when we see, the plan we had was that
we report to you at the end of every week not everyday
sir.'
Elvis smiled at Dakolo's boldness, he took his face off the
officer's face and began to look to the ground, using his
sandal to rub the grasses.
'But arresting someone like Henry is different, he's
supposed to be a part of us, he's supposed to be part of
those trying to find the assassin and not a suspect.' Elvis
looked up with a bitter frown, 'I was surprised today to
find the news of his arrest on the internet, I called you to
confirm and you didn't deny.'
'We took him in for questioning sir, because we found
out that he's been hiding a lot of details from us.' Dakolo
said.
'Of course you had to do it, I only have a problem with
you not informing me immediately. What has he been
hiding?'
'He has a close association with someone who's
suspected to be part of Samantha Osman's group, there's
about ninety percent probability that the person is even
Samantha Osman herself.'
'How did you find out about that?'
'We discovered that he attended Chief Jubril's party with
the lady,' Dakolo answered shortly, willing to stop at that
but the man's eyes demanded for more explanation. 'The
lady he went with to the party is a suspect. Henry also
testified that she was nowhere to be found during the
time of the assassination. He has not seen or spoken to
her since that day.'
'Interesting,' Elvis bit his lips, enjoying the release of
information. 'So, when did Henry leave your custody?'
'Before evening time,'Dakolo's response was sharp. His
phone interrupted with its ringtone, he took it out and
checked the caller's ID, Mr Sylvester. Out of respect for
the Vice President, he silenced the call.
'And what's the next step now?'
'We hope to keep Henry in safety, he can provide us with
useful information if he lives.' Dakolo stated, hoping the
man's question would end at that.
'If he lives?' Elvis stared at him for more explanation. He
began to trek away from the park slowly, Dakolo and Ken
followed. Dakolo's phone rang again. He checked the
caller's ID and silenced it again.
'Why are you sounding as if he's in danger?' Elvis
concluded his question.
'The assassin group may come for his life, now that he's
involved with the police.'
'And haven't you made plans against that already?'
'I have, I have four officers watching him, three officers
at his house and one officer following him around, all
without his knowledge.'
'Isn't that enough? Four officers should be able to ensure
he's safety.'
'Yes sir, on a normal day when dealing with a different
group, four may be enough but with Samantha Osman's
group, I'm afraid four may not do the job.'
'So what are you planning to do now?' Elvis stopped and
asked.
'I've asked Mr Sylvester to convince him not to stay in his
residence for sometime.'
'Where would he stay?'Elvis raised a brow.
'In NSCC house, it's more safer there. No one can easily
break in.'
'And has Sylvester been able to convince him?'
'I don't know, he's the one that called me some seconds
ago.' Dakolo brought out his phone, hoping that the man
would allow him return Mr Sylvester's call.
'No problem, you'll call him later.' Elvis replied,
disappointing Dakolo.
Dakolo returned his phone back into his pocket, waiting
for what else the man has to say but Elvis didn't speak
immediately. He began to take slow steps again.
'I want you to keep me updated always, I won't like to be
surprised again like I was today.'
'There's no problem sir.' Dakolo voiced impatiently,
itching to leave the man's presence.
'Wait!' The man suddenly turned to them calmly, with a
crooked smile. 'Why are you so much in a hurry?'
'We don't want to leave any chance for the assassin
group at all, we don't want to make any mistakes. We
want to ensure that Henry is somewhere safe as soon as
possible.'
'But aren't you taking it a little bit far? You just arrested
him today, even the media hasn't verified his arrest. How
do you think they'll find out? Or are you suspecting
there's a mole working with you?' Elvis suggested. Ken
shrugged in partial agreement.
'Mole?' Dakolo and Ken took quick glances at each other.
'We don't think there's a mole sir,' Dakolo answered. 'But
we think if the information can get to the press which we
didn't give by ourselves, it can also get it to these expert
assassins. Henry may have even let out the information
himself unknowingly.'
'It's okay, you can leave.' Elvis said and walked away
immediately.
Even before the man finished talking, Dakolo and Ken
had turned and began to proceed to their car.

Elvis entered into the living room to meet the eagerly
waiting Don and the Inspector General. Both of them
rose up from the sofa immediately they sighted the Vice
President.
'Henry E.G has a close association with a suspect' Elvis
said to Don as he continued walking. 'I don't know if
that'll be of help to you.' He concluded and proceeded
up the stairs, leaving Don and the IG.
Don picked his car key from the sofa where he was
previously seated and walked out of the place after
bowing to say goodbye to the IG.

8.05pm
The gate opened as Henry tapped a button on the remote
control in his car, he drove in with speed and stopped in
the middle of the compound. He took off his seatbelt
before turning off the car engine, he wasn't ready to park
the car in the right place today. He opened the door to
the driver's side but remained inside and relaxed back
for about two minutes. He finally got out after taking his
phone from the backseat and proceeded to the left side
of the fence drunkenly, the reflection of light from the
two neighboring compound brightened his way enough.
He tapped two buttons on the wall and the compound
security light came on. He returned to the car and locked
the doors properly before proceeding to the house.
The house was dark as he entered, he closed the door
and began to search the wall with his hands for the bulb
switch. He tapped the switch but there was no light, he
left the particular switch and moved to the wall at the
other side, he tapped the button and there was no light
also.
Unsuspicious of anything, he believed that something
must have gone wrong with the connections in the house
or at the main control point. He took out his phone and
pressed the power button, he began to find his way with
the little light shown as the phone booted. He was able to
get to the first sofa on the left and he sank into it tiredly.
He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, a slight headache
began to disturb him.
He opened his eyes suddenly as he heard sounds of some
movement. He turned on the flashlight of his phone and
pointed it to his front but saw nothing. He wondered
what it could be, Rats? Cockroaches? He wondered but
none of them could be accommodated in his house due
to proper cleaning and fumigation that takes place
frequently, at least he had seen the documents of the
previous cleanup that had been done before he moved
in. The movement must have been heard in his
imagination, he concluded.

8.10pm
It was over two hours now and Jefa had not heard
anything else from Henry, his heart was greatly troubled
as he couldn't imagine what kind of trouble Omotara was
in. He wasn't stable enough to go to his business place
that day, all efforts made to reach Henry back proved
abortive.
His earlier decision was to stay away from Henry and
Omotara but with the panic at hand, he couldn't go by
that decision. After several minutes of contemplating, he
picked up his phone and dialed Henry's number again. It
was still switched off. He couldn't take it any longer, he
got up from his seat and put on his shirt. He proceeded
towards the door and wore his palm sandal placed
beside the doormat before hurrying out.

'Hello Mr Sylvester, sorry I couldn't answer your calls. I
was with the Vice President.' Dakolo said hurriedly into
the phone. 'Have you been able to reach Henry?'
'No, he wasn't answering his calls. His phone is even
switched off now.'Sylvester replied.
'D--n!' Dakolo muttered. 'Please keep trying,' Dakolo
said to Sylvester before ending the call.
'Sir…' Ken called in a calm voice, wondering why Dakolo
was in so much panic, it wasn't that they were sure that
the assassins were coming for Henry that day, so he
wondered why Dakolo was acting like he had gotten
information that someone was going to kill Henry that
night.
'Yes,' Dakolo took a brief glance at Ken.
'I think we should take it more calmly, I believe we have
capable people watching him already, they'll alert us if
there's any problem.'
Dakolo was about to dial another number but he paused
to ponder on Ken's word. Ken had spoken the truth but
Dakolo still had the strange feeling to act urgently, he
wouldn't be able to forgive himself if anything happens
to Henry.
He went on to dial the number and his call was answered
in few seconds.
'Sir,' a gruff voice sounded.
'Officer, where are you now?' Dakolo asked.
'In front of Henry's house, he's gone inside already. I'm
watching with the other officers.'
'He just drove in?'
'Yes, few minutes ago.'
'Can you get into his house for me? I want you to talk to
him and try make him believe that he is in danger and
shouldn't sleep in that house tonight, it's not safe for
him.'
'Where should I tell him to go to?'
'The NSCC house is safer for him or you can tell him to
follow you to my place. I'll just meet you on the way.'
'Okay sir, I'll try go inside the house now.' The call ended.
Dakolo heaved a sigh, he glanced at Ken who was looking
less worried. He unlocked his phone's screen again and
opened the dial pad, he scrolled down to Henry's
number and dialed it, not really too optimistic about it.
He relaxed back and put it on loud speaker.
His eyes widened in excitement as the call went through
and Henry's ring back tone began to play. But his
excitement was suppressed few seconds later when the
call was not answered by Henry. He tried two more times
before giving up. As he closed his eyes to relax a bit, his
phone rang again.
'Sir, he's not responding to the bell.'
Several thoughts ran through Dakolo's mind at that
moment. Maybe Henry was not just answering the bell
the same way he wasn't answering his calls or maybe he
wasn't answering because an enemy was already fighting
with him in the house. It was also possible that Henry was
planning to do something.
'Try more, I'll call you back now.' Dakolo cut the call as
another idea flashed through his mind on how to reach
Henry. He clicked on the message icon and began to type
in a message.

Henry felt angry as Dakolo's call came in the third time,
