After exchanging some quick morning greetings with the regulars in the neighbourhood, I kicked my bicycle into the next gear. Following the road , I accelerated into a left turn. The view of the area opened up into a 360 panorama as i approached the descent of a steep slope.


Current Location Nickname: Detective Hill.


Going down this hill is like an invitation to an oasis full of treasures; going up it however,   is like running into a desert having winter clothes on. Along the road of the hill hung an old sign which read Sakashita Detective Agency.


                              "Uoooo..."


Just as i drew close to the descent of the slope, a strong breeze came from behind.


The middle of spring break had just passed. With April due to arrive tomorrow. The morning air would be less chilly. The scenery of the fluttering, dancing petals of cherry blossoms trees lining the road which brings me a warmth in my heart. 


With the comfortable wind now pushing at my back, the steepness of the hill led me into a sudden acceleration....


                    "Uh-oooooooooooh!"


I was focus on squeezing both lever brakes with all my might, to me help slow down.


"Pedestrians Check! Cars Check! Heart Check!                
  Wait...! Still Alive Check! All fine!"


I took a deep breath, relaxed my mind. And After taking a quick break, I slowly headed down at the side of the road.


Anyway, as it is already is, I no longer get the feeling of thrills and spills like back when i was a kid, where i'd go at full speed around corners all over town competing with the vehicles on the road, hoping to defeat the machines. But....
    

           "Because rules are rules, yeah."


Well it's not like im an old man thinking how hard living in this world has become. 


                              "Well...."


As i was gazing up at the sky, a square, unidentified object, flew past me...


                            "....Huh?"


Before i could identify it, the flying object has fallen, it would be more appealing if it could flew further, wait....


                 "Ow! It's a Hankerchief...?"


All of a sudden, The wind picked up, carrying an audible voice...


                              "Huh...."


in that moment, my body acted on its own. pulling both brakes, turning my head as far as it would allow, I managed to see that the owner of this soft, audible voice was on top of the hill...


                      "My Hankerchief!!"


                                 "Ah...."


I looked back over the top of the hill. There was a girl, around my age, standing. Uncertain of what to do. My eyes was drawn in by that  silver-white hair wearing a white one-piece dress, those white legs, those white...


Hmmm... actually wait... no, Color had nothing to do with all this... 


                             "I think..."


The girl stood at the top of the hill with her right arm stretched out towards the hankerchief, With her left hand she held down her hair from being blown by the wind. That being said, she lacked the hand to hold down her dress. Well... in any case, there was the waiting owner.


              "It's being blown again...aah!"


                                "Ahhhh!"


When her gaze was focus on her hankerchief, her eyes inevitably met mine. With the same troubled expression, she was now alternating her gaze between me and the hankerchief.
 

                           "Wait up!"
 

                                "Eh..?"


I did not know what the girl's gaze was trying to say. However... well, there was an inexorable feeling about this current development, i got off the bicycle, carefully putting down the foot stand.


              "Here we go uoooooooooo!"


And, now on my two legs, I ran with all my might, trying to catch the hankerchief that was being blown off by the wind once again.

Kurosaki Kiseki lives in a city in japan, he does all kinds of part time job he can manage. Now he's just been delivering newspapers around the neighbourhood, because there's only about a week left before his school starts again.

While Kiseki was on his way home after delivering newspapers, he saw something that flew above his head and heard a soft voice coming on top of the hill, who seems to be the owner of the object. 

Kiseki looked back and saw a beautiful girl at the very top of the hill. The girl's right arm was stretched out, it seemed like it was trying to reach out for the object that was blown off by the wind.

Kiseki was mesmerized by the beautiful face of the girl, and had forgotten about the object that he saw flew by.

But then he noticed that girl's gaze was really focus at something and he had finally remembered that he saw something flew past him, and thought that maybe the girl owns it so he tried to catch up to it, and give it back.

Will he be able to get it back and have a talk with the girl?

Hanna sheepishly took Lisa's hand and stood up. Lisa smiled approvingly and then shouldered her coffin again. 

"I sorry you had to see me kill them." Lisa spoke softly to Hanna. "I hope you can forgive me."

Hanna slowly shook her head. "I'm ok." 

Her dark tan face was slightly paler than normal, but Lisa could tell Hanna was a strong girl. After fighting in so many battles herself, Lisa had grown numb to seeing death and she had seen many of her allies become as well. Hanna seemed no different. She too was seemingly growing numb. Unfortunately, a child should never become this way. 

Lisa shook her head to dispel these thoughts and started forward towards home. Hanna quietly followed close behind. The two were about to leave when Lisa suddenly remembered something very important. 

"Awe come on!" Lisa said giving an audible moan. "Hanna, I cannot believe I made a mistake."

Hanna looked up at Lisa confused. "What mistake?" She asked. 

"I forgot to bet on the fight for a powered computer or laptop. Now I can't read the blueprints!" Lisa said shaking her head. 

"That is unfortunate." Hanna replied quietly. 

"Oh well." Lisa said as she took a step forward. "Guess I better do it next time. Everyone makes mistakes." Then the two continued to head back home. 

The two women were going to cross back through the market area again to go back home. This time however, Lisa went down a different side road just to see the rest of the market before they returned. The road was the same as any other, trashy, wet and market stalls scattered on both sides. 

They were passing the last run-down stall when something familiar caught her eye. It was a grey plastic square corner of what might be some electronic device. It was under a stack of books and she almost didn't see it. 

The stall owner was an older woman. She looked about as decrepit as her stall. Lisa eyed the stack of books and asked if she could look at it. The old lady nodded looking happy that she might have a costumer.

Carefully Lisa took off the books to revile the object beneath them. Her eyes sparkled seeing her find. It was a small laptop!  

Carefully and with some hesitation Lisa lifted the top of the laptop. There was an audible crunching crackling sound as soon as she did. Lisa could feel her heart clench hearing it. She tried to peak at the screen hoping that it wasn't cracked or ruined. However, she couldn't tell yet. Closing her eyes, she carefully finished raising the laptop top, doing her best to ignore the horrid sound. 

Finishing to raise the top she opened one eye tentatively. The screen was ok! Only one corner was cracked, and the screen had lots of dust and dirt on it. The joints of the laptops lid and bottom must have had a lot of dirt in them. That's what caused the noise. 

Lisa sighed out loud. Next was to see if it worked. Looking down at the keyboard every key was accounted for. The touch pad and selection keys at the bottom of the board also seemed to work. 

Finally, the real test. Was the laptop capable of running? 

Lisa presses the power button gently. Nothing happened. She pressed it again a bit harder. This time there was a slight 'click' noise from the power button. Then the black screen of the laptop suddenly turned dark gray. The sound of a small fan running inside it could also be heard. Then the computer company name appeared on the screen. 

It worked!

Concealing her excitement, as best as she could, Lisa looked at the old woman. 

"I'll give you five dollars for the laptop." Lisa said. 

The old lady didn't budge hearing the price. She calmly folded her arms across her chest and leaned back against the wall behind her. "We both know it's worth more than that. It even runs. One hundred dollars." She replied flatly. 

Lisa sighed in her head. "Let me think for a moment." Lisa said unfazed. Just then the screen changed to a log in page. Seeing it Lisa then asked, "Do you know the password? I can't use it if it's locking me out." 

"I do." The old lady replied with a nod.

"How about twenty-five dollars. It's not like I have any way of charging it any way." Lisa offered. By trying to say it's use would be limited she was trying to negotiate the price to be lowered. A very simple tactic. 

The old lady sighed aloud. "Fifty dollars. I won't go any lower." She grumbled. 

"Deal." Lisa said gently putting the laptop lid down. Then she set it on the old ladies' stall and slipped of her coffin. Since she was in a public area, she was sure to be careful that no one watching them could see the coffins contents. After getting the money from her safe inside the coffin she gave it to the old lady. 

"Pleasure doing business with you." Lisa said giving a smile. 

The old lady did the same. "Like wise."

Turning to go she motioned to Hanna that they were going and then tucked the laptop gently inside her jacket. This way no one would see her valuable possession. 

The wall back home was rather uneventful. The wet roads puddle had shrunken considerably, and the sun occasionally peaked out from behind the clouds. They talked about some of the other things and cloths they had seen in the market, but other than that they walked mostly in silence. 

They arrived back at home far sooner than everyone expected. Lunchtime was still over an hour away. When Joan heard Lisa calling from outside, she had only just started the fire in the garage. 

"Your back really soon." Joan called to the two ladies as they entered the garage entrance. "Did everything go alright?"

"We had a few problems, but we got most everything I need for now."  Lisa replied. Then while watching Joan cook Lisa explained what had happened to them on their trip. Joan looked worried when hearing about the fight with Jackson's Match Fighters but didn't interrupt. Then only once Lisa was done did Joan speak. 

"My goodness that does sound rather like a very exciting trip. It makes my runs there for food sound so boring." Joan said with a sigh. "So, does the laptop work at all?"

"Yep." Lisa said taking out the laptop from her jacket. "I'll try to open the dam's blueprints after we eat."

Just then the rest of the neighbors arrived at Joan's garage. The smell of the soup cooking must have drawn them over. Seeing Lisa and Hanna were already present they asked why. Lisa then had to retell their trip to the market all over again. 

"You actually met one of the Mad Dog gangs' lieutenants?" Benny exclaimed first. "What a lucky break!"

"And you got a laptop." John said joining in. "So, you'll be leaving us soon?"

Lisa nodded slowly. "I still plan to, but only if I can read the blueprints."

"I see. Well at any rate the soup smells done. Let's eat." John replied licking his lips hungrily.

So, everyone had eaten their fill and got comfortable inside the house. Lisa sat alone at the kitchen table and opened the laptop. It creaked loudly again with all the dirt in its joints. She tried to blow the dirt way and managed to get a lot of it out. Then she started it up. 

While waiting for it to load up, she got up and headed over to her coffin that was still in the garage. Inside it mixed in with the electric parts box was the scanner she had taken from the AFR Officer. It had a port on its backside to where she could connect it to the laptop. Fortunately, the two could connect to each other. 

Then after typing in the password that the old lady had given her, did she finally have a chance to see the main screen. Glancing at the battery meter she saw that there was forty eight percent remaining. Plenty of power for the moment. 

Plugging the scanner to the laptop was a simple as it sounded. The file to the scanner's contents opened up immediately after plugging it in. Thankfully there were only three files inside. One was the system files of the scanner. The next one was labeled Random Files and had nothing all that important it when Lisa checked. Then the final file was labeled, Maple Valley Dam Files.

She clicked on it and watched as a loading screen popped up and slowly loaded the files. Then after a minute the files opened. 

Just as she had hoped it was all of the blueprints, schematics, maps and functions of the dam were all there. She could now start her takeover of the dam facility. She rubbed her hands together excitedly and started studying everything about the dam carefully. She could almost feel the money in her hands knowing that it wouldn't be too long before she would get rich from the electricity. 

However, the future would not be that easy as she was soon going to find out.

Synopsis:

Several years after major nuclear events, followed by the rise of robotic armies, have caused the world to become post-apocalyptic. The year is 2276 and Earth is now full of anarchy, corruption and death. The rich are richer, the poor are poorer and government ever crueler. 

A lone woman carrying a large backpack, in the shape of a coffin, comes to a small post-apocalyptic town in the middle of southern Utah, whose only existence rides on the Colorado River. There is a dam which provides water, food and transportation to the several thousand people who have been congregating in the slowly re-growing town. Many had once hoped to fix the hydroelectric station to rebuild their lives, but corruption brews. 

The lone woman stops at one of the bars in town and gets into a fight with some local gangsters who were mistreating a young girl outside. Causing her to become at odds with the gangs of the town. This is the instance that first roots our heroine, Lisa Cunningham, to save this town and prompted her to grow her Black Market Empire here! 

However, gangs are the least of her worries! Robotic army’s, rebellion militia, mutated monsters, mad cults, competing companies, government entities and lustful men keep ogling over her all the time!! Not to mention the strange events that slowly begin to unfold around the little girl, Hanna, that Lisa had saved. 

Yet there is more to Lisa than good looks alone. She has come back from over 200 years ago and is learning more about what has happened while she was in cryogenic sleep. A sleep that she volunteered to do for the US military. There is so much that has changed on Earth, much of which is far from what she once remembered and even more to learn. How will she be able to survive in a hostile world and reach her own frivolous goals to obtain great riches?

Back in Fengfu City, Zang Wei had soldiers guard the borders and stationed soldiers around-the-clock within the city's vicinity. 
Redheaded Bernavoles citizens slowly arrived at the city gates. Zang Wei checked their papers and had no way to stop them from entering. Although they look suspicious with their big swords wrapped in cloths behind their backs, they held credible papers from the Youshi Government office signed by the Minister of Trade and Foreign Affairs.
On the other hand, they were also amiable and polite, and dressed up in the most presentable way as a merchant should. They even lined up for inspection. They also offered a gift to Lifen as the acting governor. However, it was a fact that these men found her adorable too. The head merchant even openly sought her hand out in marriage, making Zang Wei jealous and angry. If he could make her refuse to meet the visitors, he would, but duties come first. Thus, he had to stay at her side whenever a foreigner wished to meet her, of which she didn't mind. 
In other words, Zang Wei couldn't find anything illegal from these people to keep them from entering the city. Their only downside was they openly expressed their reason for coming, to buy the special stones in the city mines of which was legal in all sense unless the governor or the Youshi king would issue an edict from keeping anyone from buying the stones or mining the caves. 
Zang Wei deeply hoped Ming would be back soon so he could issue such an important edict.
As of the moment, Zang Wei allowed them to come, but they had to set camps outside and leave their weapons there. Unexpectedly, the Bernavoles merchants obeyed. He sent men to monitor their camps daily and their dealings in the city. Another Mafan would be the last thing they wanted to encounter.
Yet, so far, no incident deemed dangerous at the present. Markets opened as expected. Merchants traded as usual. People lived their lives daily as if nothing deadly occurred days ago. The city life moved on while construction of the walls went on, including in the Anjing Pavilion.
However, the Fengfu City residents united to hush the news about the bizarre incident with Mafan, the governor's disappearance, and the wife's extraordinary powers. They understood how dire their situation would be if these reached the ears of the high-strung officials in the capital. 
Another good thing took place. After that deadly incident, these people had warmly accepted the Chiangdas. They realized these exceptionally powerful beings were also flesh and blood with emotions like them. Not superior or inferior in any way. Nor controlled by demons but who only wanted to live peacefully and to be accepted as normal people like them.

Not too far from Fengfu City, Prime minister Xian Lang, ordered the stone Chiangdas to dig a huge cavern, as big as a cathedral underground. The men built it in less than a day. They moved in when it was ready for habitation. 
The entrance was through a huge rock hewn to look like an eerie cave where the way was narrow and dark. However, it was all an illusion produced by an illusion formation the prime minister personally made. The hideous part about this formation was it was a deadly type, massacre awaited the uninvited guests.
In reality, the entrance was just an ordinary huge rock near a river with an opening carved by a stone Chiangda. But for double-precaution sake, a plant Chiangda surrounded it with tall trees and vines.
Inside the cavern, Prime Minister Xian Lang stood on a stone platform. "For now, this would be our abode while we are here," he told the army of thousand Chiangdas he brought. "So be ready anytime when we need to defend Fengfu City and fight with our lives on the line. Don't let the enemy have their way in our nation."
The people hailed in reply with their fists up high. Their voices echoed in the cave. Yet, outside, it was as peaceful as a wild forest could be. Only the chirping of birds, cries of four-hooved animals, rushing and splashing of river water, and rustling of the wind on the leaves could be heard.

Xinyi carefully opened her eyelids and was surprised to see herself surrounded by books and other things she could not recognize. Some were odd looking and bound in leathers or made of blocks of wood. There were some woven mats with drawn objects on it. 
There were books that had jewels on top while some were covered with thick metals with a keyhole. Common books she knew were also there. She had read them when she was young. But this was the first time she laid her eyes on most of these weird and intriguing items at the same time. Most of the writings were also foreign to her. 
She looked down and saw a sea of books under her feet. The place was messy. Yet, she couldn't understand her heart was at peace. She could not feel any threatening presence at all. But she was alone.
"Where am I? General Lofey? Sir Tyriece? Where are you?" No one replied. Not even an echo. 
She looked up and saw no ceiling or roof above her head, but only a clear blue sky. She had gone to her family's library, enclosed in stone walls and books arranged in shelves to keep it safe from wearing out. There were ancestral treasures in there too, but covered with blankets to avoid dust settling on it. However, this place had none to shelter these literary treasures from the ever-changing weather. 
Moreover, when her hand touched the books, there was no trace of dust. She skimmed through the pages of a book and found it was handwritten. The astounding part was the date written on top was thrice her age, but she saw no rotting of the pages. In other words, these collections had existed far decades ago, or maybe more. But these were well taken care of, aside from the arrangements. The person-in-charge left it piled up into small hills.
She opened more books in her language and was in awe to read diverse unknown topics. What is a rocket flying to the moon? Were stars made of stones and not the souls of his ancestors as she was taught they were? Michael Angelo? Hades, Zeus, Eres? Who were these people written in these books titled Encyclopedia? 
Where these books came from the worlds that Skrider mentioned? Would she be able to read something about her own world where her biological family lived? She was elated, believing she could find one.
"Wow, it would take decades to gather these vast collections. Who might be the owner of this place?"
She moved the books and objects, using her feet to make room for her legs to walk around, but it seemed she was also standing on books. She had to be careful to climb her way around or she might slip down along with the tumbling books. Xinyi did not want to be buried and die under books.
In the end, she couldn't bear the silence anymore. She stood with straight backs and cupped her hands on her lips, shouting, "Anybody out there?"
"Hi, lady Xinyi," a girl's audible voice said out of nowhere. 
Xinyi turned around but found no one. "Who are you? Do I know you?"
"Yes, and No." 
Xinyi still saw no one else. Wary of the unseen companion, she made a defending stance while she glanced at her sides. Ready to fight if the person would sneak an attack. 
"Who are you? Come out," Xinyi said, harsher this time.
"As you wish." A shimmering golden Koi as tall as Xinyi appeared right next to her, smiling from ear to ear. Before Xinyi could react, the Koi smashed its enormous tail toward her. 


In the realm of Chiji, a mythical world where hidden powers lie. Chaos ruled because of a few became drunk with power and abuse it. And inflicted a terrible balance upon the plains and brought chaos to Chiji.

From this chaos, opposition rose and plotted. And so, the good deeds of few power wielders were forgotten. What remained in the minds of people was the horrible past. Thus, their existence slowly waned through time.

"Hahaha, Yippee! Thank you, husband of mine. Send me here. Send me there. I don't care. Send me anywhere or send me to another country. Since you don't care, I don't care as well," sings the bouncy Xinyi. She dances, eats, and drinks in merry.

But… an unexpected encounter under the moonlight changes everything. Most of all, when he discovers he is meant to protect his wife who is the blossoming Sorceress.

But.... but how do I make her love me??

Eight months were already over, time passed really fast. Jun and feng Mian were already married five months ago. No one other than their close relatives and friends were invited .

This is the 5th letter of this month now ! she shouted in her mind. 
She was getting these letters from the past seven months and for god sake this one is the 35th letter. She first thought that it was Jun and without reading the letter the first time she received it she aggressively ran to Jun and yanked the letter to his face. She confronted him but he clearly denied and even said that he has got nothing to do with her. She was annoyed by him back then but she was more annoyed with the one who wrote them to her. The letter's never had any kind of addresses on them , there were just two words on the top of it  ' Liyan Su'. She received five letters a month and when she read it she was dumbfounded by the words themselves, they were beautifully hand written in a cursive style and all those letters asked her many questions with telling her A specific someone's whereabouts ....  

At first she thought it was someone bullying her from the University but later she found that he was born in China but is currently in France. She never replied back to his letters and that never bothered him , he himself told her some things but not his name or what his purpose was!!

Su kept the letter in her handbag and locked her locker. 'Locking it has no sense' she pouted looking at the locker and then left with her friends.

After I woke up I asked Nicole for how long I was asleep, she told me she never realized I was asleep. It was mean, because does that mean that I look so ugly everyday. I thought I looked cute or just like a normal human being. It's sad really. But the good thing is that it seems our teacher didn't notice, she probably thought I was just lying on my desk. 
"did you do the reading" she asks out of nowhere. 
"wait what, we had reading to do?!" om shocked I think I forgot about it completely. 
"oh my gosh I can't believe you forgot about it, she'll kill you if you can't answer the questions." she laughs a little as she pats my shoulders as if I were crying. 
"shit, and that's the thing I'm already failing those quizzes. Like at least with those quizzes I read some of it." I say sighing, I never really read any of the books she assigned. I would either read a summary of the chapter online or do nothing. 
"go listen to the audio book, I mean we have a period before class." she says, as she pulls out her headphones to hand me one. I receive before popping it in my ear. 
"Do you have, audible or are you going to use YouTube?"
"YouTube, I don't really use audiobooks that often so YouTube is enough. Listen to it during class." she says standing up from the stairs. 
"thanks Dana." I thank her as I follow her out the stairway and into the hall. I'm glad she reminded me of the book if not I would have forgotten about the test and reading. 

Imagine a love triangle in between a love triangle don't forget jealousy and protective brothers. They have problems and they don't realize it in other words.

"Aren't you looking handsome."

Yuuko smiled brightly when Nik stepped into the shop. In her eyes, he was finally looking a bit decent when compared to the current fashion sense of the world... ripped jeans for both men and women...

She couldn't understand the concept at all. But what kind of mother would she be if she didn't even allow Megumi to explore her own choices? So usually, she would keep her opinions to herself but whenever Megumi would shop for something 'extreme', Yuuko would have to take her time and explain a lot of things to her.

"Thank you, Yuuko-san. And good to see you."

Nik smiled. Honestly, he still had troubles adding honorific to someone's name, but when he arrived in this world, Nik was presented the basic knowledge and pronunciation guide as his first travelling gift. But even then, the thought of adding 'san', 'kun' or other honorifics felt like a massive pain.

"Hmm, did you meet with Megumi? I heard from her that you would always walk a student till the school gates."

She asked casually. From the looks of it, Yuuko had just opened the shop. With a cloth in one hand, she kept dusting the book-filled shelves before while keeping her back to Nik.

'Wow...'

"Yes, I met with her and Manabu before coming here. Ah, here, let me put this out."

Nik offered a hand when he saw Yuuko touching the banners of various books and mangas, making Yuuko smirk a little.

"We haven't discussed your terms, Nik-kun."

"Consider it a selfless service, Yuuko-san. And honestly, you should just leave the dusting to me, too. 

You should relax over at the counter while I bring in customers."

Nik smiled while picking up a cartoonish flex-board before taking it out and placing it besides the entrance before repeating the action while Yuuko just smiled while moving towards the magazine section and continuing her dusting.

"All done."

Nik smiled with clapping softly and entering the shop with a smile when he saw Yuuko climbing up the ladder to dust off the upper section of the shelves... her large, plump butt stuck within her jean pants as she kept shaking her body while cleaning the upper section, making her butt jiggle ever so slightly.

'Ah... Megumi... I'm sorry...

I'm weak...'

He prayed internally but immediately shook his head and frowned before taking a deep breath. In his adventures, he won't have the time or the need to control his own urges, but in this world, he gradually had to learn proper restraint. Looking up, while controlling his swaying heart and wavering determination.

"Yuuko-san, can we discuss the terms now?"

He asked lightly while deciding to pick up one of the rag clothes placed over the counter and started swiping over the non-fiction section of the store.

"Ah, sure."

Yuuko gradually climbed down and looked at Nik while exhaling gently.

"I am going to be honest, Nik-kun. The only reason I am even willing to employ you is that Megumi told me a bit about your... circumstances.

But we don't have many customers in front of our shops, even during the peak season."

Yuuko sat over a stool and pressed her forehead while sighing.

"So, even though your basic salary will be less... we can include an incentive system based on the number of books you sell?"

She asked with a bit of uncertainty in her voice while Nik thought for a moment before nodding. Either way, it was a win-win situation for him and he would rather see Yuuka all day instead of an old man.

'Ah, that reminds me, I still have to apologise to him.'

With the talk completed, Nik was given a set of strict instructions about the prices of the various types of the books and their profit margins and the minimum operating price he needed to keep in mind if any customer suddenly decides to negotiate over the price.

Nik continuously nodded while keeping his silence while Yuuko kept on informing on where the books are kept and then she even showed him the record book that Yuuko had been maintaining since the beginning of shop to keep a track of the stock.

Finally, after half-an-hour, Nik was given a respite from the waves of information as Yuuko went back inside to eat her breakfast but not before,

"Have you eaten, Nik-kun?"

Yuuko looked towards Nik with a curious expression. Although she felt that there was no need to grow warmer towards her own employee, Yuuko also knew that she had to properly host Nik, although, his current stay still made her a bit curious.

"Yes, thank you. Please go ahead, I will take care of the shop."

He smiled and thanked Yuuko before sitting on the stool with nothing to do.

Mental task list updated... get a smartphone. It would get way too boring if there are no customers. Of course, he can look through the books, but he simply didn't want to touch the temple of words so early in the morning.

Meanwhile, Yuuko nodded and closed the door behind her as she exhaled deeply.

'How did it get sooo hott~'

She complained and groaned inwardly while pulling onto the collar of her top while breathing deeply.

No matter how comfortable Megumi looked with Nik, Yuuko now felt that he was too dangerous. If his bearded form gave him a pleasant and warm sense of beauty, right now, in such decent clothes...

He looked like the perfect boy in her mind... and not the 'good' kind of perfect.

She took rapid breaths to calm herself before she went towards the kitchen to cook something. 

Nik, on the other hand, was already bored out of his mind. He looked outside and saw various aunties opening their own stores before he grinned maliciously.

Standing up, he looked sideways. It was a restaurant and right now, a middle-aged woman was bent over while writing a few words over a small blackboard.

"Miss, can I take ask a few minutes of your undivided attention?"

Nik spoke up while the lady uttered an audible 'tch' before standing up with an irritated expression which visibly turned into a pleasant one as her dry eyes fell on the pleasant image his visage currently exuded. With the long cream apron over his clothes and properly combed hair unlike the dastardly hairstyles of this era's youth, Nik currently was an auntie magnet.

Seeing her reaction, Nik already knew that he had the woman's undivided attention and smiled broadly.

"I see that your cooking skills must be excellent, seeing that you own a snack store...

But would you be willing to enhance your trade?"

Nik spoke warmly and pointed at the book store while unceremoniously taking the poor woman's hand, almost making her wet. At this moment, he had already started leaking his pheromones to lure in customers and scam them.

And looking at the street filled with elderly ladies, he felt his prospects getting brighter and brighter.

"Ah, yes, Of course!" The lady almost shouted loudly as the stars within her eyes only grew brighter while Nik led her into the shop, still holding her hand. Although, Nim felt that this move was way too 'scummish' he simply channelled his 'gender equality' loving personality as he gave internal justification at how the salesgirls also used their beauty to lure in men and trap them into their demonic fold.

With the lady finally lured into his shop, Nik immediately led her to the cooking section of the store and pointed at various books that looked rather lavish, pointing at their expensive prices without care.

Since he had already decided to scam to impress his mother-in-law, why should he stop now?

13 Books.

In the end, the lady left with thirteen books. Since she did not have money in hand, she just looked at Nik while matching his gaze and pleaded rather desperately.

"Ah! Just wait here! I'll immediately return with the money! 

How much is it, by the way?"

The lady... that now seemed to resemble Manabu a little asked with a curious expression as Nik took out the calculator from the drawer and totalled the amount.

Pulling the most gentle smile that would be only used against some of the troublesome customers back in his world, Nik spoke out.

"The total amount is 13460 yen. But Auntie, are you sure—"

Nik hesitated a bit and lowered his eyes while biting his lips while screaming in joy internally as the lady's expression had melted to the extreme.

"Just wait! I'll return in a moment."

And as she promised, the lady returned in a moment while the shouts of an enraged man still sounded out from her store/house. Apparently, her poor husband.

And just like that, Nik made his first sale.

'Although... now that I think about it...

Didn't Megumi say that Manabu's parents owned a snacks store?'

He thought inwardly and connected the dots before shrugging. Manabu seemed the type of person who would read anything as long as it's new to him. So, Nik just sat back and sighed in relief. 

He was going to get rich enough to at least afford his own wardrobe.

Michael pondered the System's statement as he opened his eyes back into reality. His body felt completed rested, though his head still ached and his brain felt tired. Still, he was pretty satisfied with the couple of hours of basic combat practice he'd been able to perform within the space. He quickly threw out a few awkward strikes while acknowledging a notification he'd received near the end of his time.

"So, Unarmed Combat will track individual styles if I learn them?"

"Yep! Hurry up and improve on the basic form and the weight lifting so you can complete that other mission! I'm curious to see what you'll unlock," was the excited response Michael heard resonating in his head.

"Wait, you don't know?", Michael replied, puzzled.

"Well, sort of. I have a good idea of what it will be, but I won't know for sure until you complete the mission. After all, I'm not the author - based on the parameters of the mission, I have access to certain rewards, and I know what should be associated with a given mission."

Michael took a moment to absorb this new information. He wasn't in a place to unpack the complexities of the relationship between the System and his future self at this point, so he decided to leave it alone for now. As far as his combat practice was concerned, he had determined that just practicing within the Lucid Space was not going be nearly enough.

He had realized that while his idea was good, there were serious limitations. For one, he could only practice the form, but he had nothing to interact with in the space. For another, even if he had the Centurion's lecture recorded, it would never improve. He had some ideas on how he could improve the overall process, though, and he'd test some of those out with his next opportunity, but at the end of the day, the form included a lot of throws and holds, and those weren't things he could practice properly in isolation.

"It seems that I'll still need to find a teacher," he murmured glumly. After all, the Lucid Space wasn't a complete cheat - it was really just a way to use his own memories, imagination and predictive abilities to perform glorified thought experiments. It couldn't replace hard work. He then stretched and made his way over to exercise mat.

Since it was Sunday, he'd decided to incorporate the yoga and internal martial arts forms he'd read up on prior to his calisthenics. He still wasn't used to the changes to his body's senses, which made him feel every muscle movement individually, but he thought that in this instance it would be particularly useful. 

The sensation was quite distracting, but as he it forced him to notice the movement of each muscle, he was able to determine which muscles were being activated in each exercise. He compared this with what the literature said he should be feeling to try to confirm that he was performing the exercises properly. He focused on following through the motions without being concerned about his speed, maintaining his breathing and completing a cycle of each of the exercises, albeit haltingly. 

Still, he saw some minor boosts to his coordination sub-attribute, so it appeared to be meeting the intended purpose. Satisfied, he proceeded to perform his regular exercise routine, then got ready and went out for his run.

After he'd returned and showered, he had breakfast with his family before saying goodbye and heading out to the location Mr. Maddox had given him. He'd taken a moment to look it up online and then had the System record the proper route, saving him from having to jot down the directions and follow them by hand. 

He hesitated a bit over what to wear, since it was the weekend and he didn't need to wear his uniform. However, he was going to be working for someone on the school staff, so he wasn't sure what the appropriate dress would be. Ultimately, he decided on a collared shirt, a pair of beige slacks, and a grey v-neck sweater over top. He decided to wear his usual pea coat over top, despite the fact that it had the school logo emblazoned on the breast. His only other option was his winter anorak, and that would be much too heavy for the fall air. He lamented his lacking wardrobe, which wasn't normally a problem for a student but quickly presented an issue for an aspiring entrepreneur. 

Since he still had a while before he needed to be there, he'd decided to walk. As it happened, the address was on the other side of the downtown core, so he ended up passing by the cafe, which hadn't opened yet. As he walked down the quiet Sunday morning streets of the downtown, he enjoyed the sun and crisp fall air as he walked towards the river. 

Soon, he was following a pedestrian and cycling path through the main downtown park. There were a few morning joggers and cyclists enjoying the weather as well, and he smiled and nodded to folks as they passed by. He contemplated taking a longer jog some day and enjoying this route himself as he approached his destination.

The address led him to what appeared to be a large riverside warehouse or factory. It was fenced in by cobblestone half-walls topped with wrought iron, with a small brass sign and an electronic call bell next to the gate. 

"Greyscale Books," Michael murmured as he observed the image of three overlapping circles, one hollow, one shaded, and one completely filled in. The pattern reminded Michael of something he couldn't quite put his finger on, but he set it aside as he confirmed the address and pressed the buzzer. Shortly, he heard a familiar voice ring out from the speaker.

"Who is it?"

"It's Michael Prout, sir," the boy said hesitantly.

"Ah. You're right on time," the librarian's voice said in an almost accusatory manner. "Come in."

Michael heard the electronic buzzing sound that signified the gate unlocking, and it slowly slid it self to the side. He stepped into a tastefully appointed paved courtyard. An outdoor lounge area complete with fountain and fire pit was laid out between the gate and the building, with a lawn and garden visible from the far side. The side nearest to Michael was paved all the way to the river, where a dock jutted out into the river. The closest face of the building had massive windows near the top, and immense doors at the front that would have been big enough for two large trucks to pass side by side.

After Michael had had only a few moments to look around, he heard the sound of metal scraping on the other side of the door, and a smaller portal inset into one side of the massive entrance opened up to reveal Mr. Maddox himself. The man was dressed in his usual style, sporting a waistcoat, collared shirt, and knit tie. He quickly gave Michael a cursory glance before grunting and turning back into the building.

"Come in. Hang your coat up there, next to the door. You can leave your shoes on on the first floor, but I ask that you take them off if you go up to the second. Also, I appreciate that it's the weekend and you're a teenager, but I'd ask that you still wear a tie next time you come."

Michael cautiously followed him in through the smaller door into what appeared to be a entryway, removing his coat as instructed. He winced internally at the last sentence, then registered the final portion of the librarian's sentence.

"Next time, sir?"

"Of course. I doubt you'll finish today."

"Finish what, exactly sir?"

"Building the electronic catalogue, of course."

Michael followed the man out of the entryway into the next area, where he quickly had to stifle an audible gasp.

What appeared from the outside to be a large building turned out to be mostly one giant room, which stretched from one set of giant doors to another at the far end of the building, which Michael guessed was almost up to the river's edge. Lining the room in row upon row of towering shelves was more books than Michael had seen in his entire life.

It's the turn of the 21st century in a world not unlike our own. 14 year-old Michael wakes up on the first day of high school with a nosebleed, a splitting headache, and the voice of someone claiming to be him from a number of years in the future in his head!

"We could have been, and we need to be, better... so, congratulations, I'm sorry, and good luck!"

Stuck with a somewhat overbearing voice in his head that seems hell-bent on ruining his life, Michael will have to survive such ordeals as... doing well in school, eating right, exercising and... learning demonic contract law? Stay tuned to find out!

"Who'd knew something this vulgar in appearance, could have such a profound taste. I have been enlightened." Leon patted his belly in satisfaction.
"Your Highness, if we keep up this level of consumption, we won't be able to last long. For this meal, we have used up five carcasses." Zorbek reminded.
Leon glanced at the pile of black exoskeletons. All the unused inwards and dripping blood have been reduced to ashes to eliminate foul smell.
"That's true. We need to exercise self-restraint from this point onwards." Leon nodded, before asking, "What's the progress on—"
Suddenly, an audible stomach rumble was heard.
"Ugh…"
Damir groaned. He clutched his stomach and paled with cold sweat.
"What's the matter with you, Damir? Are you not feeling well?" Marcus asked with surprise.
"I… I can't hold it anymore. I gotta go!" Damir roared, startling the group.
He undressed his suit of armor and found himself a hidden spot behind the pile of leftover exoskeletons.
"C'mon, it's too late to be pretending now. Everyone had already eaten and know the food was safe to eat." Marcus said with an ironic smile as if he had Damir's sudden behavior all figured out.
"Don't come over here! Arghh!"
"Quit playing around—"
Marcus suddenly paused and clutched his own stomach with a pale face. Similarly, he broke into cold sweats and said, "I… I think I gotta go too…"
Rumble…. Rumble…
"Ugh… count me too…"
"And me three…"
Rumble…!
The sound of stomach growling became louder and more numerous. It was set off one after the other like a chain reaction. It didn't take long until everyone who had a taste of the devil's food began to fell into the same situation.
"Good heavens! The power of nature compels me!"
"Arghh, what the hell! It feels like my backdoor is about to burst open!"
The palace guards exclaimed in shock. They weren't sure what was happening to their body. However, one thing they were sure of was; when they had to go, they got to go!
No one had the hearts to care about their dignity in the presence of a lady, not when their asses were on fire! Everyone found their own holy ground, dropped their pants and squatted in preparation for the grand ritual.
"Shameless!" Lilith cried, before escaping upstairs like a startled kitty.
Leon tried suppressing the strong urges by injecting silver needles into himself, but it was no use. There was no escaping. It was a natural process to expel waste and harmful substances from the body. Preventing it would only cause him self-harm.
Ultimately, he resigned to his fate and sighed. Great journeys start with a trip to the toilet. Leon erected himself a 'throne' with whatever materials he could scrap together, before seating himself for the inevitable.
Soon, the suppressed urge was released as everyone defecated uncontrollably like gushing water from the floodgates opening. It was a horrific scene where foul substances flew indiscriminately and tainted the historical remnants on the bottom floor.
The bottom floor was swallowed in a torrential wave of horrible smell. The palace guards continue to squat through the terrifying experience as they pray to both man and god to end their suffering.
"Ahhh, it feels like my rear is on fire!"
"Good lord, please make it end!"
"Begone!
The palace guards' cries could be heard from all the way up top. Lilith tried to block out her hearing. This underground trip was filled with its own horrors. If she knew what she was signing herself up for, she would've never come.
After what seemed like an eternity, the noise began to die down. The group was in low spirits as they wiped their rears with whatever they could use.
 "Aiyoo, it stings so bad." A palace guard exclaimed.
"What a terrifying ring sting. I must say it was ten times worse than eating spicy hotpot." Another one commented.
"What's a ring sting?" An ignorant one suddenly asked.
The others looked at the person strangely, before one of them said, "You never heard of a ring sting? What about the red ringer? The ringer stinger? The red ringer stinger? Fiery a**hole? If you eat spicy food often, you should be familiar with the terms, especially spicy hotpot."
"I… don't eat spicy hotpot," Jackson replied.
The others looked at him like they were looking at an anomaly. Who doesn't like spicy hotpot? But then they sighed, "You had it easy, man. Or perhaps not…"
It was a love-hate relationship. Spicy hotpot was so good, but it would always leave them contemplating their life's choices on the throne. Over time, they built some tolerance, but this was definitely the worse experience yet.
Considering Jackson didn't eat spicy hotpot regularly, he would have been hit the hardest out of all of them. He would never touch the devil's food again.
Everyone secretly cursed the Grandmaster. Grandmaster Don didn't lie to them, but they felt like they had been tricked. It truly was an 'unforgettable experience'.
"Bleurgh..."
The palace guards could no longer withstand the foul smell and began gagging without surprise. The horrendous smell had been intensifying with each passing moment.
"Ah… this smell is going to kill me…"
"Just kill me now. I can't live with this shame… Bleurgh…"
The group had indeed made a mess and the smell became unbearable, even with Leon's tolerance he couldn't keep a straight face. He used his fire abilities to clean up their mess and eliminate the smell.
He failed to fully eliminate the bad smell, but at the very least, it was brought down to a bearable level.
Seeing the painful looks on the others, Leon wasn't sure if it was due to his strengthened body, but his experience wasn't as bad as the others. However, he never expected that he would have to use one of his sets of spare clothes as toilet paper.
Hold on.
Leon suddenly froze. He had spare clothes from his Worldspace to use, but what did the others use? Glancing over, he noticed several dirty scrunched papers on the floor.
"You, what did you use to wipe yourself?"
Leon interrogated a random palace guard.
"Eh?" The palace guard was taken aback, before replying, "Err… I used some torn papers from the books lying around, your Highness."
"You!" Leon was immediately triggered. He swept his gaze through the others with suppressed anger, before he asked, "Don't tell me, you all did the same?"
The group nodded guiltily.
"F*ck!" Leon cursed.
Those books potentially contained history and knowledge of the ancient civilization. More importantly, they were written in the universal language of the Divine Realm, something he could understand. Their values were inestimable. Yet, they were used as f*cking toilet paper, when there were other items they could have used! He never felt so angry since the time his father was killed.
Seeing the prince's emotion, the palace guards lowered their heads. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
However, they didn't expect the prince to react so violently. These books were written in a foreign language. It didn't possess much value unless they were able to derive the language. Thus, they thought it was okay to use it. They had no idea the prince cold read these books.
Looking at their dumb looks, Leon could only keep his feelings to himself. Leon rubbed his temples and calmed himself with a sigh, before he said, "Ugh, whatever. Handover the remains."
"Yes, Your Highness."
The palace guards hurriedly presented the items to Leon with dirtied hands. When Leon saw the stains, he immediately backed up, "Holy sh*t! Stay back!"
The palace guards outstretched dirty hand froze.
The palace guard retracted his hand awkwardly and simplemindedly said, "Err, I guess they are called holy sh*t now."
The paper torn from the books were worn out and didn't have the same flexibility and strength as normal toilet paper. As such, it was easy for palace guards to accidentally tear it while wiping himself.
Leon rolled his eyes at the comment.
Summoning a large chunk of ice with his ice ability and melting it with his fire, Leon ordered the group to clean up the mess and salvage what they could. Fortunately, there were still a few books that were left untouched, dirty but not tainted by human waste.  
After the group had done their best to clean the place, Leon had the group cultivate by the blocked entrance to weaken the earth.
While they were cultivating, he brought the books upstairs where the air was fresher to peruse. At the same time, he avoided eye contact with Lilith which felt piercing.
Among the books he had, there were flight records, cultivation books, research journals, and even diaries. The building didn't seem like a library. As such, he thought it was strange for all these books to gather in one place. Leon decided to ignore the first three and went straight for the diary first.
He wanted to understand what happened to the ancient civilization and how it ended, or perhaps who ended it. He thought about the demons, but he had yet to find other traces apart from the demon parasites. Leon frowned when he recalled the Bloodfiend Sect and their blood refining methods.
Sometimes, the greatest of evil came not from the outside, but from within. Humans could be bigger demons than even the demons themselves.
With these thoughts, Leon flipped open the first diary.

Three days had already past since Shiro's encounter with the hero's party. Knowing that he had caused a ruckus at the whole city, he decided to stay low and remain in his mansion until things at the city settle down.

Of course, Shiro didn't spend those three days doing absolutely nothing; he decided to try more of his spells and adjust their powers. For some reason, unlike in the game, he was able to properly adjust and control the power of his spells. He had spent all the past days memorizing again all the possible spells and magic he was able mastered back when he was still playing the game. 

There were some easy ones that Shiro was easily able to control and adjust, but there were also difficult and dangerous ones that could either destroy a whole city or massacre an army - which he decided to study and use until they're necessary.

The things he learned was totally worth the time he had spent. 

But there is one thing that he was really eager to learn and understand, namely -

The history and the state of the world he's currently in. 

Back at the plaza, together with Stella, they have bought all the books the shop keeper said was about the history, countries, and different species and races that exist in this world. From what Shiro had witnessed until now, this world clearly resembles the game he played before. From the levels, job classes, magic, everything was identical to the mechanics of that game.

But still, the city itself, Altair city, doesn't exist in the game. It also seems that Shiro is the only one who can see job classes and the levels of the people around him. He had heard that one can see what their level is in the guild, while they can see their job class at the church, that means the people of this world are not like him, who can even see their names and health percentage of people.

Realizing that there were definitely much difference between his world and the game from this world, Shiro thought that he would need to at least understand this world's background and history - 

What is the norm? How does this world's technology compare to his previous world? If magic exists here, how powerful are the people who mastered them? Are they more powerful than him, or he could crash them too with his eyes closed like the hero and her party? And what kind of monsters and races lives here? Is this world even at peace? 

All these questions went inside his head when he finally accepted and realized that he was now a citizen of this world.

Hence the reason why he had bought books from the bookshop at the plaza.

Only... 

He wasn't able to read a single word from the books he bought.

[ How am I supposed to read this...? ] Shiro silently whispered to himself, and then placing the book he had opened back to the large bookshelf on the side of the wall.

[ Haah... ] 

The sound of his sigh resounded throughout the entire room of the spacious library, where only books and tall bookshelves exists.

( For some reason, I can understand their words, but not their writings... ) Shiro thought as he looked at all the books that were surrounding himself.

He was confused. Arriving in this world, he was immediately able to understand the words the people were saying; but not their writings. To Shiro, it doesn't make any sense. What had caused him to understand their words in the first place, shouldn't the ability to read their language should also come together with the ability to understand and speak? He doesn't know. But he knows that he needs to conquer the ability to write and understand this world's writings. 

Having these thoughts, the sound of horses' neighs and footsteps started to resound from behind the room's window. 

Shiro peaked his eyes from the glass window and saw a large and luxurious carriage outside, together with three large wagons that are being pulled by one horse each. The vehicles then closed their distance to his mansion until it reaches its front.

( If I remember correctly... That's Carla's carriage... But what's with the wagons behind...? ) 

SFX: Knock. Knock. 

A knock then came from the door of the room. 


He already knows that the knock came from only either, Stella, or Ayla, as they're the only people living in the mansion other than him.

[ Enter. ] Shiro answered. 

A second later, one of his Vampire Brides entered. Looking at the sun-shaped pendant on her chest, she was Stella. 

[ Thank you, Vlad-sama. ] Stella bowed the soon as she saw Shiro's figure. 

[ Vlad-sama. A visitor came. She said her name is Carlo Alexandria and is expecting to meet with you. Should we let her enter? ]

[ It's her, huh? ]

( She's definitely here to trade coins with me again... But still, this timing is great. I'm actually almost running out of coins... ) Shiro thought and said. 

[ It's okay, let her in. I'll come down soon too. ]

Inside the living room, Carla and Shiro sat on the same table. Carla is turning her head to all directions, looking at the room, surprised and bewildered. 

Soon, she had faced Shiro and started to talk. 

[ You were able to replace all the furniture immediately, huh? ] 

[ That is so. ] Shiro only answered in a calm manner. 

[ Is that so...? The room is now much greater than it was when it was still managed by Baldo...  ] Saying so, Carla started to look around the room, but soon again returned her eyes back to Shiro.

[ Anyway... I heard that you had a fight with the hero's party and won victoriously... I wasn't able to believe in the person who told me that, but can you confirm that yourself? ]

[ Ah... Yes, I was able to beat one of them. ]

[ Oh... I really can't believe it... I guess I was belittling you, Vlad-san... defeating one of the kingdom's top warrior... You must be very strong. ] Carla only muttered; the last part, in particular, she only whispered in a barely audible voice.

[ As I said the last time we met: I'm confident with my strength. ] Shiro answered with confidence in his voice.

With that answer, Stella, and Ayla who are standing beside Shiro, nodded in unison.

[ Is that so...? ] 

Still with the expression that says she still does not believe what Shiro had said, she muttered. She then turned her eyes to the two people that are standing to both sides of Shiro.


[ Umm... By the way... Who are they...? ] muttering so, she pointed at the two figures that are standing beside Shiro. 

[ Ah, right... They're my maids. ]

[ Maids...? Surely I thought they were your mistresses... ] 

[ Ah... right, you could also say that. ] 

Hearing those words, both Stella and Ayla twitched their faces, and their ears started to turn red. On the other hand, Carla made a surprised expression on her face. 

[ I-Is that so...? ] she muttered again, stuttering. 

[ Right. Anyway, what business do you have with me, Carlo? ] Leaning his hands on the table, Shiro asked. 

[ Ah... ri-right...! I came here to trade coins with you again. I remember you said you still have many of them, are you still willing to trade some with me? ] 

[ Is that so? Yes, I still have many of those coins. ] Shiro nodded.

( So many in fact that I will be able to make mountains of them... ) Shiro muttered in the back of his head.

[ I actually also wanted to trade with you immediately. The truth is, my coins have almost already run out. ]

[ Ohh! Then that's great. Vlad-san, if you'd like, I can trade those coins now with you for four gold coins each. It actually turns out that those gold coins were purer than I first thought. ] 

[ Oh? ]

[ Un, because of that, I was able to sell them with much higher prices at both the market, and the black market. ] 


[ Oh...? So black markets exist here too, huh? ] Shiro muttered as he recalled something back at his world. 

[ That's right, I was able to sell them the gold coins for almost ten times its original amount which I sold you. That's why I want to share some of the coins I was able to get from you. I felt guilty that I was able to gain this much from the coins I bought from you with a cheap amount. ] Carla said with much enthusiasm. 

[ Is that so...? Then, I wouldn't mind accepting it. ]

[ Un, so, how about it? I'm willing to increase the price I will buy them next with four coins each. ]

[ Four coins, huh? Then I guess I will accept that offer. ] 

Shiro was surprised by her offer, but he still remained calm and accepted it. Although he doesn't need to raise the price he will sell the coins with, Shiro thought that it was necessary, as he doesn't want Carla to abuse the fact that she may be able to buy them from Shiro with such cheap amount of price. 

[ Then, how about another hundred for now? Can you give me that amount of your gold coins? ]  

[ I can give you 300 if you will be able to pay them now. ] 

[ 3-300...!? You're willing to trade that many...!? ] she uttered with a baffled and surprised expression on her face. 

She was not expecting that Shiro would offer her that amount. Coming here in his mansion, she was only expecting to trade at least a hundred coins with Shiro.

[ Of course. I wouldn't offer you that many if I'm not willing. ] 

[ I-Is that so...? ] Carla muttered with a stutter.

[ Anyway... for now, I was only able to bring with me at least a thousand coins... That's not enough for me to pay for 300 of your coins. ]

[ Really? Then, 200 coins it is. ] saying so, Shiro put a hand inside his robe and took out a large sack filled to the brim with heavy coins. He then put the sack on top of the table and it made a *Chink and *Rattling sounds. 

This act made Carla stare at him with a surprised face. He was not able to believe was she just saw. She asked herself: 'How was he able to take that sack full of coins from his robe?'

[ Here's an exact 200 pieces of my gold coins. ]

[ Ye-Yes...! I will pay you now...! I'll get the coins outside. ] Carla replied in a hurry.

Carla then stood up and faced the other direction. But before she could start walking towards the door, Shiro called her again. 

[ Umm... By the way, Carlo-san... What are inside those wagons outside? ] Shiro asked in curiosity. 

Hearing that question, Carla turned around to match eyes with him again and -

[ Oh...? I'm glad you asked, Vlad-san... ]

NOTE: Please don't expect this write to have much action and gruesome tendencies as my real intention when I first wrote the earlier chapters was to actually make them comedic and slice_of_life-ish. Well, in the end, readers didn't like that so I rewrite some, but still, you can still find some comedic aspects in the write. Especially in the first few chapters, they're a bit... not that good.
