"Oh...oh, just a silly subordinate. I'm scolding him for some mistake he has made. Matsumoto, you better hand in the report I want early in the morning tomorrow. Otherwise, I'll allocate you to some guard duty on the islands!" Commander Takagi said into the phone with a stern voice.
The aged commander standing on the walls along the maritime battlefield in Tokyo immediately had a dark expression, yet he had no choice but to put up an act. He lowered his voice and said, "Alright, Commander Takagi, I'll fix the report overnight."
"That's all," Commander Takagi hung up the call impatiently and shoved it into his pocket. He looked at Mochizuki Chihaya with a gentle smile.
Commander Takagi was around forty years old. He was not tall, and the lines on his face were sagging. His eyes curled into a line whenever he smiled, making it difficult to see his thoughts.
"Having trouble sleeping? Why don't you come and have some drinks in my room? An old friend in Tokyo just brought me some nice wine, I know you're a fan of it," Commander Takagi walked closer to Mochizuki Chihaya and invited her with a gesture.
"I'm feeling a bit sleepy," replied Mochizuki Chihaya.

A red glow suddenly descended from the top floor of the tower, followed by the ringing of an alarm, breaking the silence of the night.
Mochizuki Chihaya immediately jumped to the top floor and asked the guard, "What's going on?"
The people asleep in the West Guardian Tower were immediately woken up by the alarm, with guards running up and down the stairs and balconies as they proceeded to their positions.
The West Guardian Tower was basically a fortress on a mountain. The sea to the east was considered the territory of the demon creatures outside of Osaka's boundary.
"There's something in the ocean!" replied a guard on duty.
"What is it? Did you take a close look at it?" asked Mochizuki Chihaya.
"It's in the water, but I didn't see what it was. More than a hundred sensors in the water were destroyed," said the guard.
"More than a hundred? Is a pack of demon creatures invading us?"
"No, I think there's only one!"
Mochizuki Chihaya's eyes were immediately filled with astonishment and terror when she heard the words.

"Its my first time in Tokyo so how would I know where to go?" Jun retorted to Takeru's question.

Rolling his eyes Takeru looked at Jun. "Its the capital city! You must have some place you want to go!"

"Its my first time here!! How would I know where I want to go!" Jun argued back.

"So you've never planned to visit Tokyo before!" Takeru relentlessly retorted.

"I'm 6! I don't plan where I go."

Over the past week, the two boys had grown a lot closer and were comfortable enough to argue with each other over silly things such as this.

"Takeru, you suck as a tour guide." Jun sighed in disappointment much to Takeru's ire.

Not willing to be looked down upon by his cousin, he decided to take him to all the best spots that he knew... well the ones that would allow for two unaccompanied 6 year olds.

Boarding the train with Takeru, the Kusanagi cousins made their way to Japan's most moe region... Akihabara.

Taking in the spectacle, Jun breathed in a breath of fresh air as he took in his surroundings.

It was exactly as he pictured it in his past life, there were girls dressed in cute maid costumes handing out flyers to people in passing, a lot of anime themed stores and cafes.

"So this is Akihabara." He said with a twinkle in his eyes.

Takeru took it as a moment to make fun of his cousin.

"Getting excited just seeing the city... How childish." He scowled.

Not caring about Takeru's childish jokes, Jun ignored him and went on a shopping spree stuffing his bag with all sorts of trinkets, manga and anime. He even saw the legendary 18+ veil that stopped minor from entering into the promised land.

After calming down and reconvening with Takeru, the two walked around and visited various shrines and tourist sights.

At one point, the pair came across a small park where they could only see children playing. With nothing better to do the pair decided to check it out.

"You freak!"

As the two were going over, they heard a round of insults being thrown at someone. When they went closer to see what was going on they saw a group of girls around the same age as them picking on a small girl in a miko shrine outfit.

Seeing a boy defend the miko dressed girl only seemed to anger the girls even more.

The girls who were previously bullying the miko girl and arguing with Takeru slowly touched the area where Jun had slapped them. Feeling a sting of pain of the cheeks made the girls fall to their knees and burst into tears.

"Annoying."

Releasing his demonic aura he pressured the girls until they were to scared to cry any further.

'I hate brats.'

Kneeling down in front of the shivering girls, he placed his hand on the chin of the girl who seemed to be the ring leader and raised her head.

Putting on a gentle smile, his handsome looks sent a wave of terror down the spines of all the girls as they lost control of their bladders.

"Don't bully people, or I'll have to bully you." He said in a really gentle voice that didn't suit the aura emanating off of him.

Without any other alternative the girls madly nodded as their lips quivered.

Reining in his aura he pat the girl on her shoulder.

"You can go now." He said.

Not daring to waste time, the girls ran away as fast as they could with tears and snot decorating their faces.

"Don't you think you went a bit overboard?" Takeru asked seeing the states of the girls.

"Did I? Well it not like they can do anything about it." Shrugging his shoulders he walked past Takeru and held out his hand to the miko girl.

"You okay?" He asked.

Normally he wouldn't help out with such a thing, but due to him feeling good about his trip to Akihabara he decided that it would be okay to do a good deed.

"I-I'm okay." The girl took his hand but kept her head down.

Taking a closer look at the girl he realized that she was unbelievably cute! Like maybe even cuter than Daruku... Though it was weird that he thought that the cutest person that he knew was male... but as long as its cute its okay.

"So why were those girls picking on you?" He asked curious about the situation.

"T-The boy they like said I was prettier than them." She said shyly.

"Oh?!

'Well isn't that a first world problem.'

Smiling at the shy girl he patted her on the head in order to calm her.

"Well you're definitely the prettiest girl I've ever seen, don't you think so Takeru?"

Both Jun and the miko girl were at a loss for words as Takeru proudly stuck his chest out.

Jun couldn't hold it in and finally said what was on his mind. "...Don't be weird dude..."

"What do you mean weird! I'm totally normal." He protested.

"Oh... I see..." Jun said rather awkwardly. "Well since your so cute I can't blame the boy for preferring you over those other girls." 

Shaking her head the girl had tears gathered in her eyes as she looked up to Jun.

"I-I'm a boy."

"Are you okay?" Jun asked confused at the reason the miko started crying.

Nodding their head the miko explained that because of their feminine looks they were ostracized by the girls and the parents of the boys told them not to play together in fear that their children would start to like those of the same gender.

"And that's why you don't have any friends?"

Nodding their head, the miko's eyes started to water again.

'Its kinda cruel but its not like I can't understand the thoughts of the parents. Japan's birthrate is already on the decline and having more people turning gay will definitely not help them.'

Jumping up he held his hand out to the miko.

"Kusanagi Jun, just call me Jun." He smiled.

"She couldn't come Jin. She was sentenced to eternal prison; her vessel was destroyed, her memories were purged and her soul was put into a slumber for breaking the law of Gods" She was shading tears while she told them her precious cousin's fate.
Raphaeline, her dear cousin who she looked at dearly and even considered her as sister, was punished while she was helpless to do anything to save her from the harsh punishment. However, before her imprisonment, she entrusted Afueria with her last momento. Her cute little baby who she birthed.
The duo were shocked at news they are hearing now. They don't know what is happening. They came here to reunite with their comrade, but instead were met with a devastating news. Especially the red-haired woman, she fall to ground bursting in tears. She couldn't believe what's happened to her best friend.
Jin was standing there with an anguished look on his face, he was holding his fists tightly, his nails was dug into his hands to the point that his own blood were dripping from it. But while he was blaming himself for what befall his own beloved, he swear that he will correct his mistake and bring her back. With this, Jin would went on a journey on a new quest to bring Raphaeline back.
Then he look on the sleeping child in Afueria's hand as he extend his hand to hold him in his owns. He then bring him to crying woman and placing him in her hands. She hugged the young baby in her chest, feeling his warmth.
"Tatsuya, Toujou Tatsuya that the name she gave it to him. A brave and strong child like a dragon, similar to you, his father" She gave them the child and told them his name, then she turn around leaving the place.
"Where will go now Afureia?" 
"I have quit being a member of the Ten Gods, so I will start building a new life here as I keep watching over Tatsuya. This is my own conviction to honor her memory. I will see you around Jin, Sapphire till then take care of yourselves."

After the meeting 9 years ago, Jin brought Tatsuya to the hero village to be raised there as proper hero as himself plus he can have normal childhood with other children there. Thus, he can focus on his mission while knowing his son is in safe hands.
Few days after their meeting with Afureia, Sapphire went missing, blaming herself for what's happened to Raphaeline. She couldn't bring herself to live her life happily as if nothing happened. Therefore, she leave immediately after Jin brought Tatsuya to the hidden village.

Currently Tatsuya was sparing with a boy with the height as him under the watch of other children who were charring for them. The boy was having a hard time against him, avoiding his strikes while looking for an opening to strike back. Some of the children were shooting for the boy, and some for Tatsuya especially two young girls; the older one with light blue hair and yellow eyes and the younger one with blue violet hair and eyes with the same color as her sister. "Go, Tatsuya nii-chan do your best" the younger sister was shooting dearly for her onii-san with an enthusiastic look on her face while, "Tatsuya, don't lose" the older sister said with a calm look on her face.
A little bit behind them, three old men were standing there looking at youths who are fighting each other.
"That Jin son he is really a genius to fight like that without any advanced training, he truly possesses a monstrous talent just like his father." Said a man standing putting his right hand on his chin beside an old geezer with long gray beard and hair observing the fight closely.
"ahahaha, it exactly like you said Shuuya, he is the hope of next generation of us, the hero in our fight with those demons." 
Suddenly some villagers started shouting. Immediately all the villagers were panic stricken. 
"Emergency! There's an emergency!!" said a young villager who arrived holding his bleeding right shoulder. 
"What happened?" said the Shuuya and the elder at the same time.
"Sei..to, it is seito. He took Brynhildr. But the S-Rank evil spirit within Brynhildr has possessed him. He's raging havoc in the village, killing everyone in sight." He told them as he was gasping for air
"Damn it, why did this have to happen when Jin is not here. Evocate the children we can't rescue them to die here. Hurry up and Call the elites"
"As you command elder." He then left to call the enforcement.

Everyone in the village was worried and filled with terror about what will happen next. All children were gathered, and escorted to safe place by some of the villagers, while the elite group formed a wall to hold the rampaging seito who was in his way towards them.
A few minutes later seito could be seen coming with an incredible speed holding Brynhilder in his right hand. Those were gathered to face him also stand with a firm will to protect their village and its people. When seito come in their sight all of them run towards him with their weapons in hand some of them stand in the rear preparing their spells. The fight could be summarized in one word, a Massacre, he was slaughtering his way through the crowed swinging his sword left and right, and with each swing someone falls dead on the ground. 
"Stay away"
"Noooo, don't come"
"Someone, save me"
However, with the majority of them dropped dead the others start losing their spirits, which spilled in their doom also.

On other side, Tatsuya was running with the others as the Elders instructed them. He was holding the Nonakas sisters' hand tightly. He don't want to leave them behind the other children and villagers. But as they were on their way to shelter, Tatsuya sensed the evil aura tailing them.
"Hurry up everyone, he is coming toward us" he increased his pace as he warn the surrounding people who felt the dread of death looming around their necks.
Soon enough the creepy evil spirit reached them and was about repeat the Massacre part 2 on the children and villagers together.
"Yuki, what happened?" Tatsuya stop in his track as saw Yuki fall to the ground wincing in pain holding her left ankle.
"Tatsuya, my ankle. I…twisted my ankle, I can't stand properly." She was trying not to show her pain as she was mastering her power to stand but she couldn't succeed. Instead, Tatsuya was going to help her to stand when Seito appeared in front of them at that moment. He slam his sword in ground causing a shock wave sending the duo flying. Seito went after the pained Yuki who is trying to stand but can't do it, she was desperately crawling on the ground to retreat from the upcoming danger.
"Yuuuuuki!!" Tatsuya runs towards her standing between her and Seito, he was cursing his luck, as he can't do anything to stall this monster allowing Yuki to withdraw into safe place. He glare at Seito intensely thinking what he have to do to go out of this situation. However, a spark of flame appeared on his right eye, Seito at that moment felt sense of dread rising from the young child in front of him, he bring his sword down towards him in that second which look like an eternity. He saw a vicious smile appears on the boy while hearing the last words of his life
"Finally! Bani...!!"

Coming up on the sight of land, Elizabeth smiled as she finally dropped her cultivation to run through the final stretch of ocean at full speed. She navigated her way through to Tokyo Bay and crossed under a couple bridges before finally arriving on the outskirts of Tokyo. After finally touching down on land again at one of the piers, Elizabeth pulled out her phone to ask her father where they would meet.

She walked past the looks of horror and shock that were directed at her from those that had seen her literally run over the water, and eventually a line of communication was established. "Ay, I'm here at uh…" Elizabeth covered her phone with her shoulder and turned to one of the locales to ask, "Excuse me, Miss, what is the name of this pier?" Albeit rough, her Japanese was fluent.

"H-hinode Pier…" Looking as though the world would collapse right then and there, the young woman Elizabeth called to respond as her body shivered. "Thanks," Elizabeth said, waving the woman goodbye as she returned her phone to her ear and said, "Right, I'm at Hinode Pier~"

"Wh- Nevermind, just come to the address I'll text you…" Kurt hung up the phone and within five seconds, Elizabeth received the text he spoke of. As she was less than a dozen kilometers away from the marker her phone's GPS pulled up when she clicked on the address, Elizabeth only moved slightly faster than a car as she made her way over to meet with her father. After warping the space around her, she took to the roofs of the building along the pier before she entered the downtown area of Tokyo.

With skyscrapers now taking up most of the land area, Elizabeth descended back to the ground and walked among the people as she was only a couple hundred meters away from the building marked on her GPS. Even when she deactivated her Spatial Shift to reveal her camouflage, as she was surrounded by a veritable tide of people walking along the bustling streets, no one found it odd for her to just suddenly appear; it was hard to draw attention when there were hundreds of people walking in every direction.

Alas, even with the end of the journey in sight, Elizabeth was met with a distraction as the people around her entered a panic. "Are you fucking serious? I just got here…" Whilst shaking her head, Elizabeth eyed the massive Hawk Beast whose cry had struck terror in the hearts of all the regular people around.

"Che! Stupid beast, you can only blame yourself for this…" With a mass of fire manifesting in her hands, Elizabeth suddenly had the idea to test out an ice incantation-powered spell. With the small orange flame in her hand being snuffed out and the image of a spear-shaped armament of ice appearing in her mind, Elizabeth spoke, "Ice Spear."

Her face only grew a bit red as she assured herself that no one bothered with her humiliating act of chanting while their lives were at risk, while a massive two-meter long rod materialized above her shoulder. This being the first time she had tried this self-made spell, it took a whole second for the Ice Spear to materialize — it took even longer than normal as it appeared outside of being in contact with Elizabeth. Moreover, since it was the first time Elizabeth used a long-range attacking spell in such a manner, her aim was poor.

Even as the Ice Spear took off as fast as an arrow fired from a bow, it only managed to skewer through the Hawk's left-wing; bringing it down to the ground. "Mhmm… I can't wait to get back to cultivating," Elizabeth said as she materialized her Chaosbright Armament and annihilated the Beast's head.

After making quick work out of the Hawk's death energies, she put the corpse of the beast in one of her storage talismans and carried on to the meeting spot as this was only a small distraction in the grand scheme of things; arguably, it was. Yet, to the regular civilians who saw a young teenage girl cast magic and savagely hunt down the monstrous Hawk Beast, this easily turned into one of the most memorable moments in their lives.

However, no one approached the white-haired crimson-eyed demon and she finally managed to make her way into the luxurious Noriyoshi Hotel. Upon entering, Elizabeth made her way over to the empty reception area and pulled up her phone to call Kurt again. With his help, the receptionist ended up guiding her over to the designated meeting room. Elizabeth was taken up to the tenth floor and after passing by one room, she found the spot.

After thanking the receptionist and seeing her leave, she knocked on the door and was immediately greeted by Kurt, "You know, for someone who'd rather die than leave the house a couple months ago, you sure are pretty outgoing."

"Oh?" Elizabeth walked through the door and was taken over to a place she could sit down when they started their discussion.

"Seriously… It took you, what? Three and a half hours to cross half the world and you even took the time to help out with a Monster attack." As the highest-ranking combatant on the planet as well as the figurative joint-ruler of Earth's Martial Society, it was no surprise that he already knew of Elizabeth's actions from just a little while ago.

"Thanks, I guess. It was a bit annoying that I had to take out that pitiful Soldier Stage Hawk out myself, but I'm guessing it's still not feasible for the public to be secure against monster beasts…"

"Right. We were initially alright when after the Celestial Phenomenon changed the world. However, with the regular wildlife growing so quickly after they evolved, it's grown to the point where cities are being threatened."

"Well, it's to be expected, right? I mean, Monsters are quite blessed in the sense that they can directly ingest spiritual herbs and materials unlike us humans, who need things processed and refined. It wouldn't be this way if more people were practitioners, but I guess it's hard to change a society in such a short amount of time…"

"About that… Would you be willing to teach Mages yourself, or is that out of the question."

"Myself? Listen, I'm still not exactly a people person, so there's no reason I should waste my time for random people when they can just figure it out themselves through…"

Having raised his hand to get Elizabeth to stop, Kurt said, "Very well. You don't have to if you don't want to. In fact, just a short while ago I wouldn't have bothered to ask you about this. But after seeing what you did to that Hawk Beast, I thought it was worth a shot to ask."

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"Well, it's just that only after Martial Practitioners reach the Spirit Realm do they unlock long-range attacks like that icicle spear you used. Before I just chalked Mages up to being like Practitioners only without the drawback of galvanizing their life force, but it seems there was more to it if they can be like you and launch those long-range attacks while still in the Mortal Realm."

"Ok?" Elizabeth asked, clearly not getting the point as Kurt spoke in a roundabout manner.

"See, It's not the same learning from a person than from a piece of paper or jade slip. So, I doubt anyone will try picking up the information you left behind when there are hundreds if not thousands of practitioners around that could teach them in person. If you'd offer yourself up to teach then just maybe, we could get the first generation of Mages up and running and that path of cultivation could become popular… But it's fine if you don't want to busy yourself with this. I can always…"

"Fine… I'll do it…" Elizabeth groaned as she thought that "teaching" could probably fit into her interests.

"Wh- Really?! I mean, you of all people should be able to see I'm just trying to guilt-trip you… Normally, this kind of manipulation would just roll off you like oil on ice." 

"Yeah, yeah, I really don't care much for the sanctity of Mages or whatever, I just realized I could fit in teaching Mages while I cultivate my Spells. Besides, if Zoey is to become a Mage I'll have to do my best to teach her since she certainly won't be as perfect as can be without a proper role model to look up to."

"A-alright then. When can you star-"

Without bothering to let him complete his thought, Elizabeth said, "Ah-pa-pa! I have conditions!" 

"Well… What are they?" Kurt shook his head in self-depreciation as he had seen this coming from a mile away.

"Condition One!" Elizabeth grew serious as she started, "I will only teach those I want and to pick these people, I want you to set up an audition of sorts. Condition Two! I'm only wasting one day a week on actually conducting a class. Condition Three! I don't care where you set up my teaching grounds, but I want there to be a large field available for spell casting practice."

"Um… Is that it? Those are all pretty easy conditions to fulfill."

"Yeah, yeah, that's it. Now about the audition…" Elizabeth went into detail about what kind of process she wanted for picking students. 

To summarize, she wanted at least one person in the class for every type of elemental affinity. She didn't care what their background was, so anyone from the heir of a legendary Martial clan to the homeless could apply for the audition. But females, or those with superior affinities for Yin, were to be prioritized, as one of the most important aspects of a good mage was how able they were when it came to managing their spirit. Males would obviously have a chance during the audition, but like the relationship between Martial Practitioners and females, only the very best would thrive.

Kurt and Elizabeth scheduled the initial estimated time for the audition to be in three days. In the time between, a campaign for those interested in learning about Magic and the path of Mages would spread through the news and the internet. After discussing Elizabeth's new teaching position, the subject changed to the Spirit Veins Elizabeth had come to trade-in. After an hour of browsing around for things she might need, Elizabeth traded away two Spirit Veins.

Well, she decided to trade away two Spirit Veins, but the moment to actually give them up would only come when the materials she was trading for arrived. With the meeting's objectives completed and a lot of downtime required for anything worthwhile to happen on Earth, Elizabeth teleported back to the Shadow Realm. A million units of Time Magic may sound like a lot, but to her, it only amounted to twenty percent of her energy reserves.

In the face of last year's 8/15 Pyongyang bomb terror and fear of a war between the North and the South, China remained calm and made no hasty judgment to exacerbate the tension. They had only declared a state of emergency in the Northern Theater Command, halting all military actions in regions near the Yalu River to prevent any misunderstanding. This decision influenced the United States Seventh Fleet headquartered in Yokosuka and the naval base in Guam to control their military movements and prevent a threat of war in the Korean Peninsula. 

Though the North and South found it a relief to avoid a sudden war that would have left the entire Korean Peninsula in a sea of flames, China's unexpected actions were posed with a wide variety of questions.

Upon receiving the sudden news of the Pyongyang bomb terror, President Xi Jinping and the Chinese Central Military Commission were deeply concerned. They had to determine whether their involvement in a potential second Korean War would've been harmful or beneficial in light of the Sino-North Korean Mutual Aid and Cooperation Friendship Treaty. They questioned if their military involvement and economic loss could've been made up with benefits for them after the reunification of Korea. Strategists in the Chinese Central Military Commission have discovered that exercising development rights for revenue, such as underground resources, would've more than compensated for their loss from their involvement. Before these calculations, they still had to determine if their involvement would lead to a victory against the American and Korean army. 

China was a part of G-2, had an annual economic growth of over 10%, and was second in the world in military expenditure. Even so, the overall opinion of the strategists in the Chinese Central Military Commission was that they were still no match for the United States. To prevent a war they weren't prepared for, China made their unexpected decision last year during the 8/15 Pyongyang bomb terror. 

A stack of reports sat on President Xi Jinping's conference table. The report was titled 'Fact-Finding Report on Northeast Asian Weapons Proliferation from Japan'. As President Xi Jinping carefully scanned through the report, his expression changed. He talked to his National Security Director, Ju Yao, in an offended tone.  

Vice President Li Yuanchao, who was sitting next to President Xi Jinping and also looking through the report, joined the conversation. 

"The Japanese got to F-22... Japan is determined to purchase stealth aircraft. Trying to buy F-22s through the export restrictions of the United States Congress isn't easy. We need to figure out a way to guarantee our national safety." 

"You are correct. Vice President Li Yuanchao, Japan is now being mandated as a common country and kindling the weapons proliferation in Northeast Asia. I will need to speak with General Fu this week, as well as get a comprehensive update on the current development of the J-20 stealth aircraft and the next generation of stealth aircraft radars." 

"Yes sir, I will bring him in."

After Vice President Li Yuanchao's answer, Director Ju Yao spoke cautiously. 

"Sir... There is one more thing I need to tell you that is not in the report."

"One more? Tell me, Director Ju Yao."

"Though it has not been confirmed yet, I received information that Japan's Ministry of Defense is secretly purchasing weaponry through unconventional means."  

President Xi Jinping's brows furrowed as he turned to Director Ju Yao.

"There's more to this? What are they purchasing?"

"My apologies, sir. It is still uncertain what they are purchasing exactly, but I am sure that it is a weapon dangerous enough to threaten the safety of China, as well as other Northeast Asian countries." 

'Not only are they trying to purchase F-22 that is restricted by the United States Congress, but they're also purchasing another weapon through unconventional means?' 

President Xi Jinping was certain that he could best Japan in any problems relating to government, economics, and military. Upon entering the 21st century, the height of economic growth and military expansion bolstered this confidence. Furthermore, President Xi Jinping's militant personality helped to make China a country that doesn't back down in foreign relations with neighboring countries or making self-righteous decisions. 

After pondering for a moment, President Xi Jinping pushed his chair aside and walked towards the window as he continued talking. 

"Last year's Pyongyang bomb terror was our golden opportunity. If we intervened in light of the Sino-North Korean Mutual Aid and Cooperation Friendship Treaty, a war would have broken out. If North Korea reunited the Korean Peninsula, we could have also benefitted through its underground resources and other political influence. Sadly, we couldn't do that because we weren't ready."  

"That is correct. Our military was not developed enough to go against the United States army. Going forward, we need to expand our military budget and complete our current projects as soon as possible." 

As soon as Vice President Li Yuanchao finished saying this with a stern face and a sense of determination, President Xi Jinping turned his gaze to the Chinese flag inside the room and confidently spoke up.

"We must prepare for a war to break out in Korea any day. Vice President Li Yuanchao, summon the Chinese Central Military commission. Director Ju Yao, use any means necessary to find out what weaponry the United States and Japan are secretly trading." 

"Yes, Mr. President."

April 7, 2016, 15:30. Seoul National Intelligence Service, Counter-terrorism Investigation Unit 1 Office. 

Today was the day that the heavily debated Defense Industry corruption case, which had four subsequent trials after an initial trial, reached an unusually fast first judgment in only a month. The TV aired starting from the first trial, and the many Koreans who were following the case watched in both curiosity and anger.

As the judge leaned towards the microphone to pass judgment, the broadcasting company zoomed in onto him. 

"I have reached a decision. Evidence shows that for the past six years, defendant Jeon Oh-Geun has embezzled 1 trillion won from the 10 trillion won allocated to the Defense Industry. The embezzlement was carried out by 25 people who acted out of self-interest, and the defendant's part in being in charge of everything at the highest position must be taken seriously. Furthermore, evidence of bribery close to 10 billion won of rebate to destroyer suppliers finds that the defendant has committed first-degree treason against the country and will be sentenced to 30 years in prison and fined 10 billion won. All personal assets under the defendant's name from the past six years will be thoroughly investigated and confiscated by the government." 

Bang, bang, bang! 

Everyone in the courthouse immediately began whispering. There has never been such a harsh judgment on a corruption case before. Even though it was first-degree treason, they were sentenced to 30 years in prison, a 10 billion won fine, and needed to turn in all private assets from the past 6 years to the government. Though several people were shocked at the heavy decision, the majority of the viewers erupted with joy. However, two people weren't paying attention to the TV. They were Manager An Yeon-wu and Assistant Manager Lee Hye-jin of the National Intelligence Service, Counter-terrorism Investigation Unit 1. 

"Manager An, please." 

"No! You can not ask for something that absurd."

"Why not?"

"Do you think this is some game? I don't have that kind of power or authority! Now leave."

"You really think I'm that dumb? I know that you and Manager Oh Jong-hyun from the Department of Education were colleagues who worked for the same company." 

"Oh, so you're doing a background check on me now?"

Manager An Yeon-wu rolled up the documents in his hands and angrily glared at Assistant Manager Lee Hye-jin. 

"Manager An, please! Have I ever asked for anything like this?"

After acting unusually coy, Assistant Manager Lee Hye-jin took Manager An Yeon-wu's hand as she was on the verge of tears. 

"What the heck? Go away."

Manager An Yeon-wu pushed her hand away and stood up while grabbing his documents. Assistant Manager Lee Hye-jin fell to the ground and dropped her head in silence. After seeing this, Manager An Yeon-wu put his left hand on his forehead, sighed, and talked to her before leaving the office.

"Fine. Fine! I'll try calling Manager Oh. I can't stand your terrible acting." 

As soon as Manager An Yeon-wu left the office, Assistant Manager Lee Hye-jin's face lit up as if she wasn't about to cry before. She laughed and whispered to herself,

"Ah! It's so hard to act. Hahaha." 

Even as Assistant Manager Lee Hye-jin's terrible acting came to an end, the TV continued to broadcast the judgment of the Defense Industry corruption case. 

April 8th, 2016 10:00. Prime Minister Conference Room in Tokyo, Japan.

"Prime Minister, Minister of Defense Shibasaki has arrived."

"Tell him to come in."

"Yes, sir."

Shortly after, the door opened and the Minister of Defense Shibasaki walked in. A haggard man in a brown suit followed from behind.

"Have a seat, Minister Shibasaki." 

"Yes, sir."

"Who is the man who came with you?"

Prime Minister Abe asked as he sat down and looked over at the man in the brown suit. 

"He is the National Defense Strategy Negotiator who went to the United States to negotiate for our marine army project. Introduce yourself." 

"Hello, I am the National Defense Strategy Negotiator, Yagumachi Genjo." 

Standing next to the Minister of Defense Shibasaki, Yagumachi Genjo replied modestly but with a strong voice. 

"Is that right? Pleased to meet you, Negotiator Yagumachi Genjo. Did the negotiations go well? Oh, I'm getting ahead of myself. Please have a seat." 

"Yes, thank you, sir."

As soon as Yagumachi Genjo sat down, he opened his briefcase. 

One week ago, Yagumachi Genjo met with Mars from USSC to negotiate but was delayed for two more days discussing the details of the negotiations. He flew in early this morning to Haneda Airport and immediately came to see Prime Minister Abe after meeting with Minister of Defense Shibasaki. 

"These are the finalized documents with the U.S. Government Agency, sir." 

After opening a yellow envelope, Yagumachi Genjo showed Prime Minister Abe a few pages of documents. Prime Minister Abe read through the documents slowly, and his meaningful smile turned into a laugh. 

"Hahahahaha!"
