Madam Ruth, a mini-boss who runs a prostitution operation in the Northern District of Karanberg city for the Twilight Syndicate. Her job is a Crow.
Among the five categories of mini-bosses, Crows are very influential and have a lot of connections mainly due to their job as keepers. Crows pick expensive things and store them as trophies thus the Crows of the Syndicate keep ledgers, documents, and records as well as loads of cash.
Madam Ruth wasn't the most important or the most capable Crow in the flock but she was doing all she could to solidify her place and grow her wings wider.
Understanding that was crucial to the part Leon was about to play next.
The moment he took up the letter hidden in the flat cap, he disappeared from the murder scene he fabricated and jumped to the rooftops. There, he found a secure location and read the message without unsealing it.
How?
He used the spell [Read] of course.
Understanding many things about the situation at hand, Leon decided to act based on it and his next step was to hurry back to the Honey Saloon.
He made himself very visible this time when he arrived at the saloon on top of a roof. He jumped from one roof to the other making sure that he was seen by at least Jordi and a few customers. The moment he jumped down, he stumbled and started running towards the saloon.
"Leo, what's wrong?" Jordi tried to stop him but Leon kept going.
"Later, I'll tell you later."
As he passed the saloon's hall, he climbed the stairs real quick despite knowing how upset Ruth gets when he or Jordi climb up. Even Jessica tried to stop him but he was just fast and headed directly to Ruth's door.
"Madam! Madam! Something important." He spoke, shaky and worried with a pale complexion as he was drenched in a cold sweat.
"Leo, wait."
Jessica went behind him but Leon knocked on the door again. At that moment, Ruth opened the door with a demonic glare on her face almost wanting to tear Leon to shreds.
"I said you don't get up here!" She shouted right from the start.
"I am sorry, Madam. He won't come up ever again." Jessica wanted to grab Leon away but he didn't budge.
"Madam, I found this." He handed the flat cap to Ruth.
She took it, looked at it, glared at Leon then threw it at his face.
"What's with this dirty thing you dumb fool. You want to sleep in the street tonight?" She shouted.
"No, Madam." Leon showed the cap again to Ruth, this time showing her the letter tied inside.
He did take that letter out for a reason and showed it like it was. At first, Ruth frowned then immediately remembered what that is.
"This… how do you have it?"
It was a scary thought that the message she entrusted to a Rabbit just a while ago would arrive back in the hands of a Rat no less. She snatched it right away and dragged Leon from his shirt's collar inside.
"You two, out."
She even shouted at two girls who were apparently in her room sleeping on top of each other in a frozen state. She was like giving them some sort of business guidance or whatever. The two of them ran outside and closed the door allowing Leon to spot Jessica and Jordi standing outside before it was shut by the iron-faced Ruth.
She walked across the room in her sleeping dress as she took the message of the cap and checked it.
"You didn't peek inside?" She asked Leon in contempt.
"N- No, Madam." Leon replied in a fearful manner as he kept his eyes to the floor but momentarily taking sneak peeks at Ruth.
Ruth put the message on a table nearby then walked to Leon glaring at him. In an instant, she held him from the neck by her two hands and struggled while looking at her with fearful eyes.
"I know Todd was old for being a Rabbit but how did you get your hands on this! Speak now!" Ruth shouted in anger.
"Ack… sorry… madam!" Leon started choking and having it hard to speak causing Ruth to grab him with one hand and hit him with the other.
"Speak!"
"He… he was dead, Madam!" Leon said.
"Dead? Who killed him." She asked.
"I don't know, Madam… I was in the market… I saw him fighting some other guy… He was jumped on and stabbed then his friends hit the other guy but they got stabbed too…" Leon was panicking all over the place trying to tell a story yet it caused her to be more irritated.
"Focus!" She spoke sternly and snapped fingers at her face as she let go of him.
"I… I am sorry." Leon apologized.
"Now, tell me what happened slowly." She said.
"Alright." He touched his neck and breathed roughly, "I saw this man here in the saloon and I just understood that he is on a job for the Madam. I didn't even butt in. After he left this morning, I went to the market for some errands. The market near the big street where there is a café and that strange building."
"Yes, I know it. Keep going." Ruth nodded.
"Ah, there was some sort of fight happening in a side street where I was going to buy some stuff for myself. There, I saw that exact same man from this morning and another two chasing someone. They got into an alleyway and I didn't see them come out. I didn't even try to look but I saw a hat on the ground… that cap… and I recognized it as the one that man wore. There was that paper tide inside of it and it had the perfume Madam uses."
"That's it? What about Todd?" She asked.
"I… I tried to look deeper into the Alley and… I saw all… all four men…" Leon then covered his mouth, "It was so scary."
"What?"
"All four of them… they were dead!" Leon said in a face that couldn't believe what it saw, "I saw other men checking on the man Mr. Todd was chasing but once they felt my presence… I don't know, I just ran… I kept running away from the streets."
Ruth narrowed her eyes and looked at Leon. It was true that he looked like a mess as if he ran around the city twice.
"And you managed to escape those who chased you?" She asked.
"Yes. They lost me after running two streets." He confirmed.
"Not possible. Unless you know their streets better than them, you would have been held by their dogs." She looked at him with disbelief.
"Yes, that's why I ran on the rooftops and didn't get down until I was close to the Saloon." Leon said.
"Rooftops?"
"Yes, Madam."
Ruth looked at Leon trying to assess him and couldn't quite put her hand on what was amiss. His story is solid but running on Roofs? This felt strange to her but it wasn't unheard of. The only problem is that these things require a lot of skill that is very rarely found in the streets.
Then she decided.
"Go to your room. Don't get out till I say so." Madam Ruth said.
"This early?" Leon felt weird as he asked.
"You do what I say. Understood?" She shouted.
"Yes. Right away."
Leon walked out of her room and saw Jordi still standing in the stairway but Jessica returned behind the bar. Many eyes followed him as he went down and only Jordi walked behind him. Madam Ruth, on the other hand, called for Jessica and gave her a series of instructions.
Meanwhile, Leon returned to the shack behind the saloon and simply lied on his bed, as for Jordi, he chased after him.
"What happened? Where did you go?"
Leon looked at Jordi with a pale yet calm face.
"I saw something in the market…"
Leon didn't tell Jordi the long version and kept most of the details to himself yet he made sure that Jordi knew that he got into trouble, got chased, and managed to escape by running on the roof. The reason for telling him was to at least get a feeling of the situation since Jordi has more street experience than him in these parts.
Jordi couldn't believe what he heard and was clearly going to spread rumors in the saloon. If the rumor spreads between the workers, many of them will view Leo as trustworthy enough and if Ruth wanted to underpay him in his reward, she will have to think twice for her reputation as well.
Jordi indeed took the information Leon fed him and ran back to Jessica and Molly. The other Rats heard what Leon did and so did the dogs.
An hour passed and Leon got wind that Ruth left the saloon with some of her Dogs but she also sent a couple of them to watch Leon's shack while he was in there.
So far, nothing out of the ordinary happened and Leon only sat in the room reading one of the other books he has.
This has been exciting indeed. It took him back to simpler times when a mission was assigned, a package was acquired and a target was eliminated.
Between lying around and reading, Leon was bored out of his mind and sat straight looking at his hand.
"Ring, show up or whatever." He called.
On his right hand's ring finger, a ring indeed showed up. The ring made of gold and marvelous craftsmanship gave a hue of golden luster that would captivate the eyes and charm the souls even though the design was simply that of a cobra biting its own tail.
"So… you won't say anything to me?" Leon asked, "I have been struggling like this because of you. I can't take you off and no one other than me can see you. And you even gave me all that power and potential… should I be worried?"
His words fell on deaf metal as the Ring didn't even show a hint of a response. Rather, the ring was just doing what Leon says showing up and going away.
"At this point, I should be at least thankful that you're not trying to take over this body or turn me into a freak that keeps screaming Precious!" Leon laughed but he was too tired of finding no single clue to the ring that he just made it disappear while sighing.

The Ring that passes the inheritance of an ancient Pharaoh.

The only proof he has is this thing from the reading of the Ring. All it says is that the ring passed some Pharaoh's inheritance to him and the first stage confirmed that Death passed the inheritance.
There is a second stage that may give him more clues on the nature of the [Ring of Horus] but the more he thinks about it, the more he finds it illogical and disturbingly misleading.
In other words, this Ring wasn't meant for him since he has no clue on what to do. What was the myth about this Ring again?
The Myth of Isis and Osiris, he knows it well. Osiris was the King of Egypt and the brother of Isis, Set, and Nephthys. While Osiris married Isis and Set married Nephthys, Osiris grew more popular in the south causing his brother Set to envy him. When Nephthys cheated on Set with Osiris, this was the straw that broke the camel's back, and Set murdered Osiris. Many accounts describe the murder in many savage and brutal ways but the most popular one was that Set cult Osiris into more than 70 pieces and scattered them across the land. Isis and Nephthys gathered them back and put Osiris together then Isis sort of mated with him and became pregnant yet Set showed up again and killed Osiris one last time for good. It was said that Horus, Osiris' son grew up hidden in the Nile Delta where the trees were thick enough to hide him from Set and when he was old enough, he revolted against Set and overthrew him.
[A/N: The part up there is from the Myth of Isis and Osiris. The part afterwards is me mixing stuff from the Myth and my own narrative.]
But that isn't the main story regarding the Ring of Horus. The story was that when Isis was trying to resurrect Osiris, she had to steal the power of the Sun God, Ra, and make an Artifact with it. This Artifact was a crown made of feathers known as the Atef Crown or the Crown of Osiris which gave him the Lordship of the Underworld. Moreover, she created her famous wings, the Wings of Isis, and created something for her son Horus that looked like a ring. This last part wasn't really popular but some papyrus stated that these three Artifacts were made so that the King and his Queen and Prince rule the next world together.
"If this was meant for its wearer to reincarnate as a Prince then Leon was a busted choice. Where can I get my refund?"
He held his head where his hair started to finally grow after the rough shave he had that day. He may be lost in a different world but to access its resources and get information, he needs to climb the ladder up in this Syndicate and figure out what to do next. He won't be able to accomplish anything on his own no matter which angle he looks from and if Madam Ruth has a good head on her shoulders, she will see his value to be more than just a Rat.
If she doesn't, he already knows what's in the letter and can sell that information to the Rival Boss she is competing against. Of course things will be messy if he took it that way thus it is merely a Plan C, not even B.
Position, Money, Power, Ability, and Support. Those are the things he needs now and Support is the most crucial.

"Leo, the Madam is calling for you."
As the one who knocked on the door was one of the dogs and didn't just break in, the situation seemed to be escalating well.
He stood up and fixed his clothes.
"Coming!"

Not sure about titles with the same quality as this one but I take elements from the usual isekai and mash them with the Korean style characters and attention to details while avoiding the Chinese repetitive plots and the Japanese beta male leads. This is an Egyptian MC whom you have never seen any like before. He kisses babies and slaps bitches… or kisses bitches and slaps babies… depending on which day of the week it is. He's a mean guy and he knows kung fu. One time an author tried to write him in a novel, the novel almost absorbed the author and he went into a torturous isekai. What more can I say? Read it already!)

"Oh, I'm still here". I say with outstretched arms, my vision becoming hazy, I let go of myself and finally, close my eyes again.
"My word Mary, your writing style is so sad, would it kill you to add some life once in a while?" My good friend Ruth says. And I respond with "I like writing this way... Gives more fulfillment" as I let out a small grin, she brushes off the remark I just said and grabs my hand swiftly.
"Class is about to start," she says as we run towards our room, the hall bell rings and we made it in time to go into our classroom. We all take our seats and the teacher enters. The class has begun.
And as the lesson was ongoing, I look out the window and I see a boy, sitting so erroneously. He was upside down and holding a book, so... carefree.

The bell finally rings, and the endless suffering that is my lesson has finally stopped.
"Mary! Let's go to the cafeteria, let's get some lunch." Ruth excitedly says.
We reached the cafeteria and ate some lunch, I had my usual cup of tea and some biscuits while Ruth ate some Gypsy tart. "Ruth, if you keep eating that you will end up becoming plump", annoyed by what I said she replies "It's not as if I'll always be young, I've got to enjoy my time now before I become senile and can't have any of these snacks" as she ate even faster. And when she finished eating, she raised her head in disapproval for a moment showing her pride, Slowly looking down she says"My... fiance is transferring here finally..." keeping her head down and avoiding eye contact. flabbergasted, I shout "fiance'?!". She says a ridiculous sentence as we finish lunch.
Ruth tugs on my sleeve gesturing me for us to go elsewhere. I follow in her stead still shocked by what she said I say in my mind "fiance'?" that thought must have been said out loud as she suddenly stops and turns around slowly. With a loving smile and a tear in her eye, she said "yes, my one true love."
I follow her and we reached the principal's office, we see a gentleman waiting outside talking with a teacher, Ruth goes to him and says "dear, its good to see you again" and as she was speaking, the man grabbed her hand and kissed it. Blushing, Ruth takes her hand away "it is not appropriate".
She takes hold of my sleeve again and gestures me for us to go away. Seems that Ruth is not very comfortable with him. I adapt to the situation and try to weasel our way out
"Oh, look at the time! We'd best be going now, it was good meeting you..." I say but I don't know his name. "Cassius, Cassius walker." he says looking straight at me "well then, Mr. Cassius, we'll be off now" I respond while we scurry off.
As we walk through the halls of the school, she held my arm tightly... The whole time not showing any signs of wanting to let go. I walk home with Ruth, She starts to loosen up on our way home and as we chit chat on the sidewalk. "so, you have a fiance huh?" I say to her "yes, my parents and his already has good relations with each other, can you believe my father saved his father in the war? To top it off, they were both enemies! Or so I've been told" she said, but somehow... she seemed disappointed and looked like she were on the verge of tears. I brush off my suspicions and say "that's very interesting, Ruth" as my parasol got blown away by the wind. It landed at the feet of someone. It was a boy. The one I saw earlier, He picks it up and as he was about to give it to me, he let out a grin and turns around and kept walking away.
"Oh, what, don't tell me you've fallen for him" Ruth chimes in "preposterous, I'm too much for him to handle anyway" as I raise my chin. But somehow, that boy had a strange presence. We both laugh heartily and continue our stroll down the avenue.
I finally reach my home, and so does Ruth. We wave goodbye to each other and I take one deep breath as I open the door to my house.
"ah, look who arrived" my father egregiously shouts. "how was your day today dear," he asks. "it was fine... I didn't know that Ruth had a fiance..." I say while avoiding eye contact.
"Oh, you didn't know? My my, it was already set up 4 years ago! She never told you about this?" my father says.
"Well, no actually," I say, and then he replied, "They were just waiting for Ruth to be of marrying age when she is not embarrassed by all this matrimony thing". "It still caught me off guard," I said to my father. "are you jealous? Haha," he shouts. I felt annoyed by that remark as I climb our stairs, I go to the door to my room and slammed it as hard as I could to show my dissatisfaction.
I drop my briefcase on the floor not minding proper posture, my mood quickly switches. I'm so flustered, to think that I would lose my very best friend in just months.
I go and change to my nightgown and I lay in my bed. The maid Cora knocks "young lady, would you like some tea?"
"yes" I respond and open the door. With a big loving smile, she lays down the tray and leaves the cup of tea and some biscuits on my desk. I sit upright on my bed to show proper manners, but my face tells a different story. Anyone could see that I was in a foul mood.
"it's not easy losing a friend, I'd crawl over broken glass than to lose my closest one," she told me as she walks out of my room, she stops by the door and says "but now there's no I way can ever lose her again, after all, she's finally up there". as the door closes.
I take some time to compose myself again and I open my journal. I do the impossibly hard math assignment even just for a little bit of progress, I look out the window and it's about to be dark. I put a vinyl of Bach on my phonograph as I lay in my bed, it's a gift that my aunt gave to me for my birthday. It was a hassle at first understanding how it worked, but eventually, it did. Reflecting on what had happened. "it's going to be a bit off going to school and seeing them" I say to myself as my heart is crushed and my will bent. I go to sleep not knowing what tomorrow holds. 
I wake up to the sounds of a marching band, the first line was the trumpet players, the second was the drums and the third was the trombone. "Why is there a marching band?" I look at the clock and realize that I am late for school. Flabbergasted, I quickly do my daily routine, and as I go down to the living room. Cora asks. "Young lady, why are you in such a hurry?" I respond with "I am going to be late". She and my father burst out in laughter as Cora said "Did you forget today?"
"We won the war" my father interrupts "so today is a national holiday".
"Does that mean... That... She will be coming? I've not seen her for some time... mother... I hope that she is okay..." I go back to my room, lay back on my bed and I doze off for some time.
"And the hero stood atop the hill, bloodied from battle, his armor all broken, all alone shining in the restless night. The hero has saved the day"
"Mother, what does restless mean?" I ask
"In this context, it means that the night is still full of action"
"so are there restless days and afternoon too?"
"Mary, isn't it time for you to go to bed? A lady's enemy is going to bed late."
"I just wanted to spend some more time with your mother, I know you are going away tomorrow."
"I will come back, safe and sound and in one piece... take out your hand."
"why?" I said
"It's a pinky promise okay?"
"A pinky promise?"
"yes, we take our pinkies and interlock them, this locking binds our hearts and whoever breaks their promise will have their heart stop beating the moment they break their promise."
"I don't want your heart to stop beating mother" with tears in my eyes, I hold her skirt tightly...
"Then promise me that you will be a good girl, be the pride of the family of the spritesthrall family. Never let anyone shame our name. okay?" She says while casting a loving smile down upon me. I reply "Then... it's a promise." As I outstretch my pinky finger, our fingers interlocks and she says "I swear to always uphold my promise to my beloved Mary, if not then my heart will stop beating." then she says "go on, say it too, you can't have a pinky swear by yourself." "fine... I swear to always uphold my promise to my... loving mother, if not, then my heart will stop beating."
"There you go, now go to bed."
"Okay, mother" I do so and go to bed. By the time I woke up, she has already left. Leaving only one envelope for me to open on my 19th birthday, I eagerly await the day for me to be able to open this message.
"Mother..." I hear in my mind and I stand up from my bed. "I don't have a lot of things to do today, maybe I'll write a story..."
The hero's party defeated, there is little hope. And with his dying breath, he says "In the next life, I hope I will stay the same" as their world is doomed forevermore, It remains... "restless"
Strange... I forgot, what does that mean again? That was a lie... I somehow don't believe my mother has kept her promise, as tears subside. I keep writing.
"It depends on what story you want to write, Mary... don't forget, the most boring part of the story is the end. I want you to write one that doesn't have an end..." I remember her words as a soft gentle breeze hits my cheeks.
"Oh, it's about to be dusk". I close my window and change to my nightly attire, I eat some tea and biscuits that I hid in my cabinet before I go to bed. "A lady's enemy is going to bed late." somehow those words are now more true, "I can't wait to open it... 3 years... then I can finally open the letter she left me".
I go to sleep at the break of midnight still disturbed by the news told to me. I settle with the closure that my friend, my best friend will finally be happy... either with me in her world or not.
I wake up just before my alarm clock rings, I see a letter beside my bed. I open the letter and read, I just wait for the alarm clock to ring instead of leaving it.
Cora, our maid comes in thinking that I'm still asleep because my alarm clock was ringing unusually long today. She looks at me while I was dazed. Dumbfounded from the news I just read and I raise my head to look at her as well. "I'm sorry dear". She said with her amber eyes, looking through my soul. I look down towards the ground, while not understanding my actions, I started crying.
Cora embraces me. While in her bosom I cry uncontrollably. She says "it's okay for you to cry, a woman who cries is one that will have a lot of hardships but will always end up stronger. So, while you can, cry your heart out and leave the negative emotions in your past. Focus ahead, always look forward to today". With tears streaming down my face, I said "I'll go get ready" and I run off to the bathroom, not even eating a crumb of my breakfast.
Oh... I see I can't believe I'm still here. The sad reality that everyone will be leaving me crushes my heart. I go out of the bathroom looking pristine, I take my things for school and go to meet my friend outside. Cora closes the door. "I guess it will only be the two of us for I don't know how long."
My father was drafted, the envelope beside my bed told me how much he loved me and my mother, he wishes that he would come back safe and sound. I somehow don't believe that he will live, and yet I want him to live through it... the letter told me as well of a war brewing in a faraway land. I hope it won't be as bad as the last war.
I meet up with my friend Ruth by the train station as it is near my house and hers. She arrives... but she is with... Cassius.

"Anger, guilt, sadness, do you still despise me?" said the sprite to the tired old man, he turns his gaze towards her and says "I've never despised you, I just despise the world." As he clenches his fist and the world is thrown into turmoil. 

No structures, no man nor woman was left, the world had died and so does his anger. 

Come and read a story intertwining the fate of two people, their destination unsure and the journey perilous. Nevertheless fate pushes on these destined lovers as many tries as it takes.

For love is, was, and will be eternal or so told the scriptures ye old and new. Continuing a story spiraling out of control, they find peace in Solitude as the clock ticks and drains away their energy, their fleeting moment of being alive is extinguished to the omnipotent passing of time. 

Apathetic to the world, these people find their heart in the story foretelling of their fate. Reaching the destiny desirable by trait they fight their impending demise by doing what little they can. 

Though so little, still they shine. As bright as fire no, as bright as a star, shining in the restless night.

Draig chuckled as he inspected the pumpkins, it was a shame that they didn't carry blood within them or else he would have some interesting additions to his tome.
"Come Dracule" stated Draig as he began walking back to the Townships people.
Zarra and the rest of the Devils watched as the Laterns followed suit and lined up with the Township's people. Many questions rang through the Mage's head, all of them revolving around that name of Feratu.
He recalled a book that Eliza had loved to read when she was still alive, it had made a brief mention of a man called Feratu and his terrifying might and now he had heard it again in reference to his son. It was something he wished to ask about but he wasn't sure how he would propose his questions to Draig, the Vampire wasn't very forthcoming and he knew that even with the changes. Unless he could get him riled up enough to slip some information there wouldn't really be a point in asking.
"Hey Zarra, the name Feratu sounds familiar" stated Ruth suddenly causing the mage to turn to her.
"How so" asked the mage faking ignorance.
"Just something I read, an old tale of a man who became a monster" answered Ruth causing the other Devils to look towards her.
"Care to tell us this story" proposed the Mage hoping to gain some insight as he could really remember much from Eliza's mention of it.
"It is a very short tale lacking many details but essentially it began in the ancient times, it said that the world was ruled by gods and plagued by their nemesis the Devils. The Gods had a champion by the name of Feratu who could smite entire armies with but a few strokes of his blade, he was the hope of mankind but alas something terrible had happened." started Ruth causing the Devils to become interested even Grayson.
"What happened, surely you don't mean to say he was slain or something right" asked Johnson.
"No, he was not slain. He was corrupted and turned, his great might which had once been the pride of humanity had become the blade hanging over their necks. The Devils had infused their will into him and had given birth to the monsters of the world today. Feratu with his incredible strength had taken control of these races and waged war against the Gods, plaguing mankind as the strength of the Heavens could not combat the one they had cherished and his dreadful army. The Gods believers lost faith in their deities as it seemed even with their blessings none could stand the wrath of Feratu, it is said that Feratu had feasted upon the blood of thousands and in the process became the first Vampire and established a horrible dynasty of which he had twelve sons." continued Ruth as she tried remembering what exactly it was the story had said.
"I assume these twelve sons are related to the twelve clans" asked Grayson curiously
"It did not say..... humanity continued to live under their rule while the gods perished leaving humanity without a hope until the Prophet appeared with the Class system. With it's blessings we were able to build an army capable of overthrowing the reign of Feratu and his twelve sons but in the midst of this war the prophet had disappeared thus leaving his creation to mankind in the hopes that it would allow us to continue to protect ourselves from these dark beings. Then the story ends" finished Ruth as the Devils all stared at her as if asking what happens next.
"What book did you find this story in" asked Zarra hoping to read it and perhaps find more clues.
"Its an old children's book of Fairy tales, it is one of the many inside" answered Ruth smiling at Zarra's interest.
Zarra recalled what Draig had said before his mental break and he couldn't help but feel that maybe he truly was the ignorant one, Draig knew too many secrets and didn't wish to spill any of them. His face took on a serious tone as he contemplated.
"Zarra it seems you know more, do you wish to share with the rest of us" asked Grayson as he could tell Zarra knew something else but he hadn't spoken yet.
"Just something Draig had said months ago before his mind took a severe blow, it's nothing" chuckled Zarra acting as if nothing was wrong but Greg and Jared knew instantly what he was talking about and their eyes widened.
"Anyways, I wish you luck in the Skyfall but do remember my warnings, both of them" stated Zarra looking toward Grayson as he said the last part.
Jared and Gregory went with Zarra as they needed to discuss a few things in private concerning Draig's reveal the months prior.
However Draig was busy calculating in his mind while Dracule and the rest of the Lanterns sat at the side awaiting their Master's orders.
'They act as if I cannot hear them, indeed the stupidity of mortals' thought Draig as he wondered who could have possibly known about those events as that part of history should have been lost or forgotten.
"It seems there is more to this situation than meets the eye" stated Draig suddenly causing Dracule to look towards him in wonder.
"What situation" asked Dracule curiously.
"It's nothing of your concern, it is between me and the Founder. I will have to go unseal him if I wish to learn any clues on the happenings of the past" said Draig as he turned to his father who was also staring at him with an odd look.
It seemed the two of them was aware of what was on the other's mind but they did not say anything however Zarra didn't seem to understand the part of not saying anything as he walked over with Gregory and Jared in tow.
"Brat you need to explain some things" started Zarra but Draig waved him off.
"This is not the time nor the place, there are undesireables around us and I do not wish to arm them against me" stated Draig causing Zarra to understand what he meant.
"So you heard us" asked Zarra suddenly
"Every word, that woman Ruth seems to be a bit more knowledgeable than what she lets on. I would suggest getting a hold of that book and making sure there isn't more to the tale that she left out" commented Draig 
"I also felt that way, Ruth has always been a conniving woman. It doesn't help that you're Eliza's son either, I wouldn't be surprised if she was planning to aim for you in the forest" added Gregory giving his view on the matter in an odd glimpse of seriousness.
"She won't try anything, at least not in an obvious way. She can already see how Zarra feels about Draig, she wouldn't harm the already negligible relationship she has with him over something so trivial though I will admit that she has acted out of character before" continued Jared.
"That is fine" chuckled Draig causing the three to look at him.
"Let her come, I wish to feast and see which is better the Blood of a woman or the Blood of a man" laughed Draig casting his gaze towards the Devil in question which oddly caused her to feel a chill.
'I'll be waiting for you' thought Draig as he delved into his united forces of Lanterns and Monster classes.
"Let's begin with the priority here, weaken the normy legion over there and collect their blood so I can put it in my tome. It'll help me grow stronger and I would appreciate it if you guys would be willing to assist me like this" asked Draig seeming like a normal guy instead of his usual attitude however on the inside he was smirking as he received the agreement from those of the Township.
'Fools, to me your all just filthy mortals. Having you assist me in weakening those awakened will be a major step in my future plans and after those come to fruition who knows what I will do with you' smirked Draig causing the Township people to think he was smirking due to his belief of an assured Victory.
"Sylvie is waiting for you" stated the Demon Slayer who looked the Feratu blankly as she grabbed his arm.
"Hey boss, take your girl out for a walk or something. We still got time before the Skyfall" called one of the Township people.
"Yeah just don't distract yourself with other things that would make you late" hollered another causing laughter among them.
Draig just put on a goofy smile to continue his good guy act.
"Well who knows what will happen, the girl just can't keep her hands off me" smiled Draig while Sylvie elbowed him harshly allowing him to further his facade by being dragged off  comically.
'Just keep playing the part, soon they will at my feet' thought Draig as he kept the pathetic look on his face.

     Ruth heard mention of her sister by the gorgeous tanned man, and not thinking ? yeah, her blondeness overcame her common sense ? she stepped into danger. Whisked away from her group ? and the safety Joel and Kendrick imparted ? she instantly regretted it as bodies, naked but for strips of leather holding minimal scraps of fabric around the hips, herded Ruth much like a dog, not quite touching her, but nonetheless getting her moving in a direction of their choosing.
     Disconcerting to say the least, especially given they towered over her, and despite their lack of weaponry, exuded a dangerous air that made her fear not only herself, but also the men she left behind.
     What have I done?
     On the one hand, she wanted to find her sister and discover what the guy meant when he called Carlie his mate, but on the other hand, hearing Kendrick's annoyed rumble and yell for her to get her ass back made her gnaw her lip in indecision.
     She would have liked to reassure him, but when she stopped walking, a nudge in the back, along with a growl more animal than human ? despite the origin ? got her feet moving again.
     Dread mixed with fear formed a ball in her stomach. The further she got from the men she'd come to trust ? a trust she should have believed in instead of throwing her insecurities in their faces ? the more she questioned the decisions she'd made that brought her to this point. What seemed like a brilliant plan of action a lifetime ago in her apartment now seemed monumentally stupid. What was I thinking?
     Sure, her intentions were good. Hop on a plane. March for days through a deadly jungle. Find her sister, come home. Naivety, meet stupidity.
     The jungle proved harsher than expected. The walk and conditions grueling. She didn't plan on falling for two guys ? or more accurately, sleeping with them. And now, to top it off, she'd encountered a strange tribe now taking her God knew where.
     I went from a drama and adventure free life to unbelievable peril. It seemed she was determined to continually make bad choices.
     They didn't walk for long, thank goodness, but long enough that Ruth had already pictured countless rescues by Kendrick and Joel ? swinging in shirtless from a vine, guns blazing, commando style. But she also had time to imagine less pleasant things like the countless ways they died. Her own demise. She'd even imagined her own blurb in the paper ? Young botanist dies in jungle, a victim of her own stupidity. 
     Surely, she'd not come this far, experienced so much, though, to have it all end now. She needed to believe everything would turn out right in the end. So she stuck to her favorite fantasy as she walked in silence, the one involving a rescue and subsequent thank you to the heroes ? funny how that scenario where she thanked them both on her knees didn't seem wrong despite her earlier freak out. The optimism didn't last. She'd partly written her own eulogy when she stumbled. Something in the air prickling her senses.
     A lithe figure dropped from a tree ahead of her party, landing with knees bent in a crouch. Blonde hair whipped back from a familiar face.
     Ruth gaped at the lean features she knew as well as her own. "Carlie?"
     "Ruth!" The woman who looked like her sister, and yet didn't, flung her arms around Ruth. Despite her appearance, Ruth would recognize that hug anywhere, and she sobbed as she clutched her sibling, shedding tears of relief.
     "OhmyGodIthoughtyouweredead," she babbled, the words running together as she clutched Carlie in a death grip.
     "Not dead. Far from it. What on earth possessed you to come after me, though?" her sister chided, releasing Ruth to hold her at arm's length.
     Sniffling, Ruth took stock of her sister. A vastly changed sister. "What happened to you? You look different."
     "What do you mean?" Carlie asked with a nervous laugh.
     "Well for starters, your hair." Both of them sported wildly wavy blonde locks since birth, Carlie's even more so than Ruth's, or had. Carlie's hair now hung in a sleek wave halfway down her back, the gold of it somehow darker than before, while her eyes ? they still shone blue, and yet, something glinted in their depths.
     "Do you like it?" Carlie swung her hair in a silken wave.
     "I do, but how did you get it to go straight?"
     "Nothing. Weird, huh? I guess the jungle didn't like my curls." Carlie made a face. "But who cares, you still haven't told me why you're out here. It's dangerous."
     "No kidding. As to why? Hello? Looking at her." A crushing hug had Ruth tearing up again. 
     "Crazy fool. I am glad to see you, though, even if you're nuts."
     "I had to come," Ruth said through her sniffles. "No one knew where you were or what happened. And the local police wouldn't tell me anything."
     "Yeah. Sorry about that. With everything that happened, I didn't have a chance to send you a proper message and tell you everything was fine."
     "Fine? Fine? How is everything fine? You disappeared without a trace. You and those other girls. We didn't know if you were dead, or a sex slave, or some kind of sacrifice to King Kong." Ruth might have lost control a bit there, but after the anxiety she'd suffered, she couldn't help it given Carlie's almost blas attitude.
     "It's worse than that. I'm married." Carlie smiled brightly, but Ruth, worried for so long, didn't care. She snapped at her sister's flippant reply.
     "Married? Married! To who? You were kidnapped from your damned bed, what, two weeks ago?"
     "Has it been that long?"
     "It has. Two weeks of Mom crying. Me freaking out. Everyone wondering. We've been worried sick about you, and you tell me you're married. What the hell happened?"
     Carlie winced. "It's a long story."
     "I'm listening." And tapping her foot. And crossing her arms. Somehow, this reunion wasn't following any path Ruth expected.
     "Well you see, Acat and Chaob, my, um, husbands, spotted me in the jungle and fell in love with me. Kind of."
     "So they kidnapped you?"
     "Er. Um. It's complicated."
     "I walked for ten days in the Goddamn jungle. I think I can handle an explanation." 
     "Now, I don't want you to freak out."
     "Been there. Done that."
     "My mates are special."
     "I'll betcha they are. So special they can't just ask a girl out on a date, but steal her and worry her family sick."
     "They had their reasons."
     "Good ones I hope."
     "In their minds they are. It's because of their traditions, you see."
     "Whose tradition?" Ruth wanted to shake her sister at her slow and inadequate responses.
     "The Moon Ghost Jaguars."
     Nothing like having confirmation of something she knew. "Aha. I was right. You were kidnapped by them."
     Carlie nodded her head. "Although, at first, I didn't know. I've only really gotten answers to most of my questions recently. Suffice it to say, there's a lot we don't know about them."
     "You think?" Ruth couldn't help the sarcastic retort.
     "Yeah, and unless you'd like to discover more of it first hand, you should leave right now."
     "Excuse me?"
     "You heard me. Leave now before you end up accidentally hitched to a pair of men. These guys escorting us are all part of the tribe and the part about them stealing women and making them their brides? Totally true. I'm a prime example. And if we don't get you out of here-"
     "Hold on a second and back up. What do you mean accidentally hitched to a pair of men? I am not getting hooked up with one man, let alone two. Well, not again at any rate."
     Carlie's eyes went wide. "What did you do?"
     "Long story. I'll explain on our trip back, right after you tell me how come you're not freaking out more that some dudes thought they were going to kidnap you and force you to stay married to them."
     "I'm not going back quite yet."
     Ruth dug her heels in and stopped walking. "What do you mean you're not coming back? Of course you are."
     "Eventually. But first there's some stuff I need to do here."
     "Stuff. What stuff? Hold on a second. You're not actually taking this whole marriage thing seriously, are you?"
     "No. Yes. Like I said, it's complicated."
     "Carlie. You can't stay here. You don't belong here."
     "I disagree." A tall warrior with one blue eye and one golden stepped forth. Dressed in only a small loincloth, he gave new meaning to the term ripped. But no matter how good-looking, he couldn't hold a candle to Kendrick and Joel.
     "Who is that?" Ruth asked.
     With a glare to freeze even the most hot-blooded of creatures, Carlie planted her hands on her hips. "Ruth, meet my soon-to-be ex-husband, Acat. And this is my other pain in the ass, Chaob."
     "A pleasure to meet the sister of our mate. And soon to be a true sister of the tribe." The tall guy tilted his head in her direction.
     "Not happening, Acat," Carlie snarled.
     "The choice is not yours to make, datura."
     "That's what you think," Carlie replied a tad too sweetly. "You will let my sister leave before your warriors start fighting over who gets to keep her."
     "Keep me?" Ruth squeaked.
     "A challenge has already been issued."
     "By who?" Carlie demanded. "She just got here."
     "Why not ask your sister? It seems she was busy on her travels here."
     Carlie whirled on Ruth. "Who did you come with?"
     "A bunch of guys. Why?"
     "Did you notice anything strange about them?"
     "Strange how? I don't know what you mean. Can you tell me what's going on?"
     "She has already said too much," growled the big dude with the mismatched eyes. "Chaob. You know what to do."
     Before Ruth could figure out what the hell was going on, her sister jumped in front of her and yelled, "Run, Ruth!"
     Run where? Not that it mattered. A sprinkle of dust in the air, the fine particles caught by the beams of moonlight filtering through the treetops, dusted her sister's skin and she slumped into the arms of her husband. Unable to hold her breath in time, Ruth joined her a moment later.

She was so heartbroken she couldn't even stand to look at her family and friends because they reminded her to much of her mate so two months later she declared Tenix no more.

Some of her friends got angry with her and never spoke to her again and some of her family didn't bother with her again.

But what happened to them! Nametag 4 whined. 
I don't know. I'm sure they got put in some zoo or moved to a different location. 
So they all got upset because one badger died. Oh poor her. If you ask me the badgers that turned away and carried on with their lives had some common sense unlike the others that tried to be "supportive" and left. 
It's only a story Ruth. Silk the leader came up behind them. 
Silk! The children screamed. 
You're all active today I see. The old badger said looking over them. 
Can we go to the lake today? Bat asked politely. 
I don't know. Silk replied laying down. 
Please! Please! Please! Nametag 15 begged. 
I can take them. It'll be no problem. Ruth said standing up.
But.... Millie came over. She had obviously over heard the conversation. 
What if they get hurt? She asked. Or lost?
We'll be fine. Nametag 6 said looking up at her. 
Fine but before you go you must do your chores. 
Can't we do that when we return! The children complained. 
Do it or you'll never leave your nest! Ruth snarled. Yes Ruth. The children said together and ran to do as their told. 
Did you really have to scare them like that? Silk asked. 
How else do you expect to get things done? Ruth replies while watching Nametag 6 carry water to someone. 
Just be nicer to them! Millie hissed. It won't kill you! 
You don't know that. It just might. Ruth replied calmly. 
Millie just hissed and stormed off. Ruth just shrugged. 
Ruth. Silk started. 
She's not wrong.
Ruth just stares at Nametag 15 hissing at Nametag 3 for getting in his way. 
You would have said the same as Silk said looking at the excited children running up to them. 
Ruth never got to reply because the children came up and said they were done. 
Can we go now? Nametag 15 said looking at Silk. Yes now go before I change my mind. Ruth said walking forward not seeing if anyone follows. 
Only Nametag 6, Nametag 8 and Nametag 15 want to go! Bat shouted behind him. 
You're the one who asked! Ruth shouted back. 
I only asked for them. Bat shouted back.
 Ruth then looked at Nametag 15 and rolled her eyes. Something tells me it involved you. She said. 
The one and only. Nametag 15 beamed up at her. 
Of course. She muttered. 
The small group walked on for a while in silence because Ruth told them to be quiet more than once but it was broke when Nametag 15 made a face and ask what the smell was. 
Doesn't matter! Ruth snapped. Look there's the lake. She shoved Nametag 15 ahead.  
Yay! Nametag 6 shouted as he jumped in splashing  Nametag 15 and Nametag 8.
Seeming to have forgotten whatever troubled Nametag 15 he splashed Nametag 6 back. 
At least they seem happy. Ruth thought bitterly and turned around to go handle the "smell" Nametag 15 had brought to attention. 
I'm glad they don't know the Crystals or else someone was going to get shredded. Ruth mutter. 
I'm going to go check something out! She yelled at the children. If any of you move I'll claw your tails.
Okay was the only response she had from Nametag 6.
Better be speaking for all of them. She heard a voice whisper. 
Ruth followed the voice until she got far away enough she knew the children wouldn't hear her. 
Alright I'm here! She called. 
A black tabby came out from behind a tree. Traitor! He rasped. 
Your not supposed to be nice to them! Another cat came out. A she cat with blonde hair. Your supposed to kill them! A dark gray badger came out. 
I was making them trust me more. She lied. That way they will never think it was me. 
Liar! The she cat hissed. 
Hold on Ronda that's actually a smart plan. The dark grey badger said. 
She should have already gained their trust! The black tabby screeched. 
Good point Tack. Ruth. He said turning towards her. Do you not already have their trust? The badger started circling her. Of course Mick! That was the plan unless you forgot again! The badger snarled. 
Of course I haven't! He snarled back. It's just that you're wasting our time. 
The only time we're wasting is standing here talking. The plan could already be done by now. Ruth snapped. 
Then go, i'll also send Tack and Ronda to help you. Oh and before you go you know who will be watching so don't fail. 
Yes Mick. Tack and Ronda said together. Ruth just rolled her eyes as they left.

To matter to someone is what I wanted before, but now I don't know what I want at all.

It had been roughly two days since Sumi had awoken in her new body. She was doing her best to live as Mellow, the things Mellow learned involving what she had knowledge of came naturally to Sumi. Which was an absolute blessing since Sumi herself had no prior mastery as to living as a Noble.

Mellow's thoughts were consistently occupied on one thing, well, a lot of things, but predominantly on the story. Contemplation of interfering entered her mind, at the same time, fear seemed to push out any plans that would help the villain and villainess.

Recently the new trend was to like the villains since they were simply misunderstood characters (which was an excuse). That's why the villainess and villain were more popular than all of the characters combined, it was known that the author did it purposefully. In the end, they died, the reasons they died were also valid, even though they had a treacherous childhood, they were the most selfish, scheming, immoral characters in the novel.

The author's fanbase increased just because of that, it was honestly peculiar.

The only factor that could save those characters was if Mellow decided to change their fate as children, WHICH, was completely IMPOSSIBLE.

So she decided not to.

'Sorry Vania and Felix...'

Mellow clapped her hands together as Findlay and her older sister Ruth ogled her with confused articulations.

"Are you okay? Would you like us to pray with you?" Findlay asked with an innocent smile, Mellow's heart burst as she saw her younger sisters adorable expression.

"No it's okay Lay, I'm fine.."

Ruth inspected Mellow's gaze for a while before continuing to mend her flower crown.

"You seem to be more lively these days, I'm glad your cold is no longer bothering you.." Ruth amassed a faint smile as she proceeded to add the finishing touches to her headdress. Mellow peered at the pile of flowers that was sprawled in front of them.

'So that explains it..'

Mellow was a dead body walking, her soul had already been gone before Sumi came along. Dying from a cold was honestly the worst, and the fact that Sumi knew better than anyone else how terrifying it is to be sick just made this more heart twisting.

She picked up a white daisy to complete her crown that had violet and ocean blue tones mixed in with white. Findlay giggled "Would you like for me to place it on your head, My Lady?" Mellow snickered as her younger sister had made small bundles of flowers that bonded together in the shape of a mustache. Findlay aimed to mimic a male voice but it only panned out to make the mood sillier.

"I would love that Sire Flowerton" Mellow played along with the skit and handed Lay the flower crown, lowering her head appreciating the abundance of her sister's mischievous giggles.

"Lady Ruth!"

An old maid came scampering promptly, the ruffles in her lengthy uniform bounced as she sprinted. It parallelled a dancing flower in one of the many exquisite tales Mellow had read. The simple blue eyes that she hadn't quite gotten used to pursued the maid's crusade as she went on to get near with urgency.

Ruth's attitude altered at the sight of the maid, her beautiful smile vanished as instantly as the lady had been rushing towards them.

As mentioned once before, information about Mellow's family was tight-knit. Honestly too secretive, it wasn't like they were under protection from the government, or apart of some secret operative organization. Living as Mellow was a mystery itself, Sumi only knew about the life this character lived before through info from the book and the memories Mellow had for herself.

"The young Viscount Spencer has come to see you! Come come hurry My Lady!" The elderly maid finally made her way over to the girls. Findlay turned to look in her eldest sister's direction, of course, it was because she was curious. Ruth didn't exactly mind the company of the Viscount, but what she did mind was her freedom to choose not to be bothered with him.

He'd been visiting too often, Ruth was an Earl's daughter, her rank was higher than the Viscounts, so to even be entertaining someone that she didn't have to, made her anger boil in the pot of her heart. Today would be the day she would no longer disregard her rank.

"Miss Elseria, tell the Viscount I wish to not see him today, how rude of you to say I should hurry to see him"

Mellow's head remained lowered not daring to stare into the direction of her elder sister.

They were nobles, they were apart of high society, to even show any care or showcase leniency was an absolute no. Although Sumi wasn't comfortable with the way Ruth was speaking with Elseria, she knew if she interfered in the slightest that it would cause a shift in her household.

She wasn't going to risk that.

"I-I deeply apologize my Lady! I will let him know immediately.." Elseria lowered her head as she backed away making sure her body was facing them. Findlay harbored a poker face not fazed by the interaction, the playful nature that halted began bubbling inside the girl again.

"Hehe! I crown you the best flower knight in Celasosa!" Findlay placed the crown on Mellow's head whilst she was distracted. Sumi turned her attention back to her younger sister and resumed the playing they did earlier.

"Why thank you..." Mellow smiled and bowed her head, Findlay giggled laughing boisterously. Ruth beheld a small smile, her mind just couldn't help but worry about the persistent actions the Viscount has been pushing upon her. Their family wasn't even close with them, what made it even more suspicious was that he was of low status, so that could only mean his family had a motive.

Mellow and Findlay laughed together, giggles that echoed into the distance. Minutes passed by quickly, it was lovely to be subdued with wonderful moments and ignoring the clock. They hadn't even noticed that while they giggled happily ten minutes already passed.

"V-Viscount you mustn't!" Elseria pursed the young man diligently, trying to stop him in his tracks persistently. Although he continued to ignore her demands and wishes marching towards the three young ladies. Ruth's eyes widened with disbelief, she stood up furious with anger, her giggles dispersed as if wind was blowing fire away.

The shrieks and laughs that had been escaping the mouths of Mellow and Lay so loudly came to an abrupt stop. Mellow's eyes followed Ruth without haste as she saw her fourteen-year-old sister walk onto the grass without care.

Sumi continuously tried to remember and focus on the information she had read before to see if she could help prevent any mishaps in the Beckett family, but she faced the same conclusion.

- There was nothing

"Viscount Spencer are you out of your mind?!" Ruth faced him not afraid to showcase the amount of anger that was bubbling on her face. She raised her hand, making the young Viscount flinch, Mellow stood up quickly with shocked eyes "Ruth!.."

Sumi didn't even know what just happened but it was like a reflex in her body, something in her just knew if Ruth laid a hand on the Viscounts face it would have dire consequences for her. Ruth lowered her hand clenching her right fist tightly hoping to conceal the frustration in her heart.

Maid Elseria bowed to Ruth hurriedly "My deepest apologies My Lady! I did my best to prevent him from coming, I make no excuse my Lady this was my fault!" Ruth's eyes locked onto Spencer who had nothing but a blank expression, it agitated her so much.

Ruth knew exactly why Elseria couldn't prevent the Viscount from coming inside, or practically anyone, 

because it was frowned upon in society for any maid to lay a hand on those with higher status, something like this was stupid in society.

"It is alright Elseria, have my Elder brother Ruben bring the knights and escort Viscount Spencer out of here..."

The way Ruth's eyes glared at Spencer was not normal, as if he had done something to her devastating. It was even weirder since from the looks of it, they had been getting along fine since she allowed him to visit regularly. Elseria raised her guilty head and nodded "Yes My Lady."

"There are some things I will allow as an Earl's Daughter to refrain from tainting my father and mothers pure reputation, but you must know as a young Viscount where your place stands, it is rude to enter this house after being refused to be seen, what is even worse is that you have interrupted the precious time with my sisters and made Elseria run around like a donkey, do you have no shame Viscount?"

It was a bright day, and the lull was heavy. Mellow and Findlay pitied the young boy who had to face their sister's wrath, which was justifiable. Sumi had learned something today that not even a dedicated fan would know about this world. It was the fact that Mellow's oldest sister was proud and independent, which had reminded Sumi of bittersweet memories.

"I apologize deeply...I was not thinking clearly, it was something urgent you needed to know"

Ruth's anger subsided quickly after hearing those words, she turned around and her dark green eyes gazed at Mellow and Findlay heavily. "Please go excuse me you two, I must speak with Viscount Spencer regarding an urgent matter."

Sumi was in the dark about everything that just happened. She was constantly reminded about how Mellow's story lacked so many concrete details that reside in the Beckett household. To see her sister's anger be shrouded by the need to be informed of something urgent meant there had to be a plot conspiring against their household.

Surely even after Elseria went to fetch their brother Ruben he had followed Ruth and Viscount Spencer into a private room. All Mellow could do was watch, which she found so frustrating.

But what could she expect?

So far Sumi was filling Mellow's role smoothly, being a side character.

Although this was her part of the story she still had no power or any significance in it. Sumi didn't plan on interfering with other characters, but in the least, she wanted to help her family rid of the second prince before he had a chance to latch onto their loyalty.

'I forgot that I'm only seven right now..'

Which was the main explanation why she was particularly involved in any serious affairs yet.

'I really am stupid..'

Mellow sighed loudly as she stood alone in the library. She was in front of a large dark brown bookcase aiming to find a section regarding plants since that was her magic specialty. Mellow's hands traveled over the books that focused on different poisonous flora and bacteria's.

Sumi knew that this world's culture, tradition, nature, and food were somewhat different from where she originally came from. Although magic was normal in this world, it wasn't used very often, it was mostly used during wars and for having a surplus in agriculture.

That all depended on which region you lived in, sometimes it was even frowned upon to use magic openly, which mostly occurred in the Henhia Region. They weren't fond of using other humans who were aces in Magic for war, they found it dehumanizing, which was valid. Although reports of attacking and rioting against those who had prominent magic seemed to be the opposite of what they were going for.

Mellow finally grabbed three books that matched what she was searching for,-

• The Encyclopedia of Tamia's Flora, 

• History of World Disease, 

• Common Poisons

Each of these books would contribute greatly to Mellow's future grades while attending Ehofose, after all, it was noted how near average and bad she did on a test. It was only mentioned once to shine light on Avery.

'Mellow stared at the paper with a downcast expression and sadness, loud mumbling could be heard and her eyes landed on the crowd that surrounded Avery. "You got 100%?! NO WAY-" Avery looked unfazed and she walked away from the crowd-'

It was obvious that Mellow wasn't good with anything from the way the author had made it. Now that Sumi occupied her body and shared memories with her, she found Mellow quite interesting. She had hobbies you wouldn't expect her to have since none were intriguing.

Mellow carried the heavy books, struggling a bit with her petite body she firmly placed them on one of the many desks in the library. The Beckett household has one of the largest estates out of the Pioza Empire. Mind you, only one, other wealthy families like the Mavericks and Carfurwans has the status of Duke, so they could easily compare to the Becketts.

"I think I'll read the History of Disease first.."

Sumi was a bit nervous since she only had the knowledge of seven-year-old Mellow, who wasn't that sharp in the first place. The book looked like it had very big words that Sumi hadn't learned in their language yet. She opened the book and flipped to the first page, and her eyes widened.

It wasn't like she didn't expect this to happen, it was a longshot of course.

Mellow couldn't read a thing.

Of course, she could read minor words that encapsulated the page, but most of it was entirely a blur. She closed the book a bit defeated trying to hold a smile. "This just means I need to up my vocabulary and study more.."

She picked up the books and tried to walk out of the library with them, mustering up all the strength she had.

"Wh..Lady Mellow!" Maude who had been searching for her master had been shocked at what Mellow was attempting. She hurried and took the books from the girl who was now smiling sheepishly.

"These books are way too heavy for you! You just recovered My Lady, what..? The History of Disease? Is My Lady studying?" Maude had a sheer look of curiosity as she gazed at Mellow who gazed back at her.

"Yep...Although I think I should focus on my vocabulary more, I could barely read it" Mellow then turned her eyes away from her close maid. Maude smiled and turned towards the exit opening the door for Mellow while effortlessly carrying the heavy books in her hand.

"Don't worry my Lady, I'll prepare some books for you tomorrow, for now, it is time for lunch, I will take these to your room"

Mellow had a lovely smile as she spoke,

"Thank you!"

"Alright, now cast your magic at the wooden targets in the order from the front. After this, we will create a study group that is specialized in three different kinds of learning methods." Teacher Ruth looked at all the confused students as if she understood then continued her sentence.
"Those who are already proficient in magical energy will continue normally with me, and those who are still unfamiliar with magical energy will be specially trained by Dottie and Buddy in the early hours and extra hours. Everyone understands?"
"Teacher Ruth, if we belong to the group trained by Shadow Teachers, will we be left behind by the other students in learning magic?" One student asked swiftly, he felt it was quite unfair and became favoritism towards those who were already proficient.
The students know that the Shadow Teacher is the companion teacher of the main teacher. They are devoted to teaching in a more individualized approach. If that was true, wouldn't they fall further behind the main lesson?
"Good question, but all of you need not worry. Dottie and Buddy are very good at approach and psychology. They will be of great help to you especially in the initial two hours and two extra hours if you want. The final two hours will be filled with major magic training. So, there's nothing left behind. " Teacher Ruth immediately explained the common question lightly.
"Yes, so in magic class for 4 hours. The initial two hours are special groups, and the other two hours are the main magic training. An extra two hours will be given to the non-proficient if you wish." Buddy just added and clarified what Teacher Ruth said.
"Un... Actually, you can also use the empty training ground to practice any time if you want, not only during magic class. Don't worry about backlashes because while you are in this academy, all the fluctuation of magic energy will be monitored. As long as you don't overuse your magical energy, then you will be fine. " Dottie brought her palms together with a smile.

"We use the magic energy from our bodies and create an intermediary for the output magic outside our bodies. All of that is controlled with a concentration and understanding of what we are going to make of magic energy, ma'am?" A student who appeared to be knowledgeable answered rather thoroughly.
"Yes, the key is concentration and understanding of what elements and magic you want to use. Your magic energy is more than enough to make complete magic with bigger things and not just a wind spear the size of an arrow or a ball of fire as big as a marble... Teacher Ruth explained in a bit of detail then got all the students in her group to use full magic with closer guidance.
One by one and step by step, students who were trained slowly already felt the individual approach was so good in the initial training.
With the right effectiveness and method, they could make a fireball as big as a normal size ball or a wind spear the size of a real spear, and much more.
Unfortunately, all of this was completely incomprehensible to Elysia. She just followed in pretense and returned to her own understanding in her mind with Elena.
