England is a country that is part of the United Kingdom.[5][6][7] It shares land borders with Wales to the west and Scotland to the north. The Irish Sea lies west of England and the Celtic Sea to the southwest. England is separated from continental Europe by the North Sea to the east and the English Channel to the south. The country covers five-eighths of the island of Great Britain, which lies in the North Atlantic, and includes over 100 smaller islands, such as the Isles of Scilly and the Isle of Wight.

The area now called England was first inhabited by modern humans during the Upper Palaeolithic period, but takes its name from the Angles, a Germanic tribe deriving its name from the Anglia peninsula, who settled during the 5th and 6th centuries. The name "England" is derived from the Old English name Englaland, which means "land of the Angles".[15] The Angles were one of the Germanic tribes that settled in Great Britain during the Early Middle Ages. The Angles came from the Anglia peninsula in the Bay of Kiel area (present-day German state of Schleswig–Holstein) of the Baltic Sea.[16] The earliest recorded use of the term, as "Engla londe", is in the late-ninth-century translation into Old English of Bede's Ecclesiastical History of the English People. The term was then used in a different sense to the modern one, meaning "the land inhabited by the English", and it included English people in what is now south-east Scotland but was then part of the English kingdom of Northumbria. The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle recorded that the Domesday Book of 1086 covered the whole of England, meaning the English kingdom, but a few years later the Chronicle stated that King Malcolm III went "out of Scotlande into Lothian in Englaland", thus using it in the more ancient sense.[17]

The earliest attested reference to the Angles occurs in the 1st-century work by Tacitus, Germania, in which the Latin word Anglii is used.[18] The etymology of the tribal name itself is disputed by scholars; it has been suggested that it derives from the shape of the Angeln peninsula, an angular shape.[19] How and why a term derived from the name of a tribe that was less significant than others, such as the Saxons, came to be used for the entire country and its people is not known, but it seems this is related to the custom of calling the Germanic people in Britain Angli Saxones or English Saxons to distinguish them from continental Saxons (Eald-Seaxe) of Old Saxony between the Weser and Eider rivers in Northern Germany.[20] In Scottish Gaelic, another language which developed on the island of Great Britain, the Saxon tribe gave their name to the word for England (Sasunn);[21] similarly, the Welsh name for the English language is "Saesneg".

An alternative name for England is Albion. The name Albion originally referred to the entire island of Great Britain. The nominally earliest record of the name appears in the Aristotelian Corpus, specifically the 4th-century BC De Mundo:[22] "Beyond the Pillars of Hercules is the ocean that flows round the earth. In it are two very large islands called Britannia; these are Albion and Ierne".[22][23] But modern scholarly consensus ascribes De Mundo not to Aristotle but to Pseudo-Aristotle, i.e. it was written later in the Graeco-Roman period or afterwards. The word Albion (Ἀλβίων) or insula Albionum has two possible origins. It either derives from a cognate of the Latin albus meaning white, a reference to the white cliffs of Dover (the only part of Britain visible from the European mainland)[24] or from the phrase the "island of the Albiones"[25] in the now lost Massaliote Periplus, that is attested through Avienus' Ora Maritima[26] to which the former presumably served as a source. In this manner, Merlin had placed Runic Magic Circles in Subzero Snowfield. Based on the great power of the Runic Heartprint, Merlin was able to perceive any Runic Magic Circle he had set as long as it was in Subzero Snowfield. In the future, even if he encountered any danger, he could instantly create a Runic Magic Circle and teleport here.

With that, Merlin activated the Matrix and began scanning and recording the Fourth- to Sixth-level spells of the Neverending Book into the Matrix. Merlin was very strict about the spells he placed into the database of the Matrix. He would not populate the database with spells which were too simple or even full of flaws.
Only when the various spells used were of a certain quality would the derived spells be more refined and have greater power. Therefore, ensuring the quality of spells within the database was crucial.
Nevertheless, Merlin knew that the true form of the Neverending Book was not like this. Previously, the first volume of the Neverending Book which he obtained had only revealed its true form after the black cat Didimoss had deciphered the runes. Only then did Merlin learn the secret of the Neverending Book.
Thus, in order to learn the secret of the third volume of the Neverending Book, he would have to decipher the runes hidden in the Neverending Book. In the past, Merlin would be helpless when faced with this, having to rely on the black cat Didimoss to decipher the runes in the Neverending Book.
However, now that Merlin had the Runic Heartprint, the mystical Heartprint created by the Great Wizard Fidel with his blood and sweat, he was able to decipher even the most complicated, obscure runes.
"Hum."

Back then, the first volume of the Neverending Book had mentioned that the second volume was at the Death Sea whereas the third volume was in the Rock Cavern.
However, the second volume of the Neverending Book had now appeared in Subzero Snowfield. Merlin could not help but doubt the veracity of the information regarding the other volumes that was presented in the first volume.
On the cover of the second volume of the Neverending Book, there was also information about the third volume.
"The third volume of the Neverending Book is located in the mysterious Black Desert. Any Spell Caster who possesses the second volume of the Neverending Book will be able to detect the third volume in the Black Desert. Once all three volumes of the Neverending Book have been compiled, one will have the chance of retrieving a Maxim I had left behind!"
The cover of the second volume of the Neverending Book contained the words left by the great Wizard who had created the Neverending Book. However, this time, Merlin did not believe these words. Conversely, an odd expression had crossed his face.
The first volume of the Neverending Book mentioned that the third volume was in the Rock Cavern but now the second volume claimed that it was in fact in the mysterious Black Desert.
Merlin had heard of neither the Rock Cavern nor the Black Desert. Still, based on their names alone, he knew that both places would not be a walk in the park. Between them, one of them was surely false or maybe both were.
If Merlin had not obtained the second volume of the Neverending Book, he might have truly believed that the third volume was in the Rock Cavern. If someone had received only the second volume, they might have gone to the Black Desert in search of the third volume.
Nonetheless, the more Merlin thought about it, the more he felt that the Neverending Book was hidden in neither of these places. These two locations were likely false information that the Great Wizard had intentionally left behind back then.
As for the Great Wizard's purpose in doing so, he could not guess at the moment. It might merely be a cruel prank played by that Wizard or a spontaneous scheme.
Still, no matter what the goal was, Merlin would no longer believe that it was in these two places. Regardless of whether it was the Rock Cavern or the Black Desert, Merlin would not go.
"It's a shame that there are only false clues in the Neverending Book."
Merlin shook his head helplessly. He took out the first volume of the Neverending Book, comparing both volumes. Other than the spells, there was nothing different between them.
"Swoosh."
Suddenly, just as Merlin placed the two volumes of the Neverending Book together, they began to emit a gentle glow which quickly shrouded both volumes.

Merlin thought that the three volumes of the Neverending Book were far too enigmatic. Moreover, the Wizard must have been a Great Legendary Wizard to be able to leave behind a Maxim. It was not surprising that the Neverending Book left behind by a Great Legendary Wizard would have strange features.
The merging process took only a short time. Soon enough, the light of the Neverending Book gradually dissipated, and what was before Merlin's eyes was a volume that appeared more mysterious, filled with an alarming, terrifying force. 
This force was very likely left behind by that Great Legend who created the Neverending Book.
"Since they've merged into one volume, what changes are there?"
With a reach of his hand, Merlin held the transformed Neverending Book in his palm. This volume was made by an unknown material which twinkled with a faint golden light. Even the words seemed to contain fantastic magic, making the words unforgettable in just a glance.
"This new volume of the Neverending Book is rather unusual and mysterious. There are First- to Sixth-level spells inside, and the Spell Models are imprinted into one's memory in just a glance. How wondrous!"
Merlin carefully flipped through the new Neverending Book. The contents within had not changed much and were still First- to Sixth-level spells. It was appropriate for the merging of the first and second volumes.
However, there was a great transformation on the cover.
As Merlin directed his gaze on the cover of the Neverending Book, the words on the cover flew out and formed into words in mid-air.
"O' fortunate one, you haven't been to the Death Sea or the Rock Cavern, and likely have not gone to the Black Desert. These places are deathtraps. Once you step into them, not even a Great Wizard would be able to help you.
"Only by possessing the first and second volume of the Neverending Book can one receive the true message. I have placed the third volume of the Neverending Book on the top of Sky-Piercing Peak. Only when you've obtained the third volume and merge it forming the Neverending Key, will you be able to access the Maxim I've left on Sky-Piercing Peak."
These words appeared on the cover of the new Neverending Book and were deeply imprinted into Merlin's mind. Following that, the words disappeared, and there was not a word left on the cover – only a blank space as if everything had been a dream.
However, Merlin knew that it was not a dream. The Spell Caster who had left this message behind was a Great Legendary Wizard named Saitu. No matter if it was the Neverending Book or the Maxim, it was left behind by the Great Legendary Wizard Saitu.
Moreover, the initial places of the Death Sea, the Rock Cavern, and the Black Desert were all dangerous locations. Once one entered these places, one would be in a disastrous situation, unable to escape. This was a trap set by Wizard Saitu.
He did not know what Wizard Saitu's intention was in devising such a dangerous trap. If Merlin had not obtained the second volume of the Neverending Book, he might have actually gone to the Death Sea in search of the second volume. At that point, he would be in grave danger.
"So, it's at Sky-Piercing Peak?"
A strange glint emerged in Merlin's eyes. He believed that no Wizard in the southern Spell Caster world would be unfamiliar with Sky-Piercing Peak because it was located within the territory of the southern Spell Caster world.
Moreover, it was very well-known, being the highest peak in the south. In addition, a rather famous Spell Caster clan had grown in the area surrounding Sky-Piercing Peak, and it was occupied by this clan.
"Since there's much trouble in the south, I won't go to Sky-Piercing Peak for now."
Merlin believed that the third volume of the Neverending Book was ninety percent likely to be at Sky-Piercing Peak. Otherwise, Wizard Saitu would not have gone to such lengths, requiring two volumes of the Neverending Book to be merged before a new clue was provided.
If it was still a false clue, Merlin would admit defeat. A trip to Sky-Piercing Peak was necessary for the sake of a Maxim even if turned out to be fake. It was just that he would not go now.

Ying and Ling had also let out a breath out of relief. Then the two of them pushed the cart where the runic core of 03 was on, following right at the back of the warrior as they walked out of the mansion.
Soon, the four of them had arrived at the outskirts of the main city.
Currently, snow and frost across the land had already melted bit by bit. The land that looked plain white a while ago had now revealed some black ground and layers of grass. However, Joshua did not pay attention to the scenery at this time. His attention was completely focused on the book with goatskin cover that he was holding in his hand.

Many of the books gave birth to their own consciousness. They had their own hands, legs, and features and could speak. When they spoke to one another, they seemed really polite and knowledgeable.
It totally shocked Li Xiandao and opened up a whole new perception of the world to him.
Li Xiandao's arrival shocked them and two of them surrounded him. 
"It is a human!"
"It is a human. 10,000 years have passed, so has the Ten Thousand Country Book Depository finally been opened?"
"Is he our new Master?"
"That might not be the case. Let's take a look at the situation."
There were tens of millions of books in this empire. The entire mountain was dug out and there were a full 100 levels. Li Xiandao's arrival attracted their attention right away.
At that moment, everyone gathered together to look at Li Xiandao.
"I am your new Master!" Li Xiandao looked at them and was unafraid. He said confidently.
"You are our new Master?" A book that was wrapped in ice asked.

Li Xiandao smiled, "Yes. I have redeemed the Ten Thousand Country Book Depository. From today on, you all can head out of the Ten Thousand Country Book Depository to play around the Bank of the Universe."
The moment he said this, many of the books started to excitedly show off their skills. 
Ice element books froze a region, allowing everyone to ski.
Some fire element books spat out flames which melted the ice, causing it to rain down on the dry roads.
Some wind element books caused a gentle breeze.
The other different element books were all dancing happily, showing off their joy and elation.
Li Xiandao looked at them carefully and didn't disturb them. He realized that out of the tens of millions of books, only 10,000 of them gave birth to their own consciousness; it was a really low ratio.
These books with minds of their own became members of the empire, each having their own homes. They studied and some even started to date, to marry, and think about how to give birth to new books.
These books lived and played around in the Ten Thousand Country Book Depository without any worry at all. They celebrated Li Xiandao becoming their new Master, dancing and singing to welcome him.
Li Xiandao looked at how happy they were and his mood instantly improved. 
This was a new race with no worries at all!
After they were done celebrating, Li Xiandao asked, "Is there a manager here?"
"Yes, the Ten Books of Heaven were the 10 managers before us." One book answered.
"Ten Books of Heaven?" Li Xiandao asked curiously.
"They were the 10 books that Shi Xiong created a long time ago." An old book coughed and replied.
"Shi Xiong?" Li Xiandao didn't understand anything that was being said.
After all, he had transmigrated and was a servant after he appeared in this world. Thus, he knew little about the world; one could even say that he knew nothing.
Shi Xiong created the Ten Books of Heaven a long time ago. The 10 were: Eternal Heaven Book, Book of Taixu, Book of Time, Book of War, Source Dao Book, Death Records, Moral Scroll, Book of Disaster, Guarding against Feelings, and Light of the Gods." The old book added.
Li Xiandao listened and didn't say a word.
"These 10 books were collectively regarded as the Ten Books of Heaven. The meaning of which was simple; if you get one, you will be able to fight against the heavens and compete against the earth." The old book explained.
Li Xiandao understood and asked, "Then, where are the Ten Books of Heaven now?"
"Nine were loaned out and only the Book of War is left in the Ten Thousand Country Book Depository." The old book sighed.
"Where is the Book of War?" Li Xiandao asked right away.
He looked around and didn't notice the tracks of the Book of War.
"It is sleeping. Last time after the Ten Thousand Country Book Depository was sealed, no one could enter and we couldn't go out.
It fell asleep and told us to wake it up when the Ten Thousand Country Book Depository was open." The old book said.
Li Xiandao was stunned and didn't expect that the Book of War had such a personality.
"Where is it now?" Li Xiandao asked.
"The highest floor. It slept for 10,000 years and you can go wake it up now." The old book said.
Li Xiandao nodded his head, "Go do your own things. I will head up to wake it up. As for your daily routines, just stick to what you are doing. I won't disrupt your way of life."
Those books, who were used to such a way of life, were at ease when they heard it. Their respect and impression of Li Xiandao improved greatly. 
Li Xiandao didn't want to revolutionalize this place and enact strict rules on them.

The Cocker Spaniel that Meng Li brought over was well trained, and didn't bark or wander around everywhere. It lay quietly on the floor, sniffed, blinked its big eyes, and stared at the kitchen of the small restaurant, where the aroma of cooked food was coming from. 
Zhang Zian took a few sips of his orange juice, then thought silently about the letters on the napkin.　　
Since they were talking about science fiction, he remembered a fiction story he'd read in the past. He asked, "Professor Meng, I'm wondering if you've read a short fantasy story, called the Book of Sand?"　　
"Book of Sand?"　　　　
This time, it was Meng Li's turn to feel shocked. He was bending over to comb out his Cocker Spaniel's fur. Cocker Spaniels had naturally curly long fur, which easily tangled and needed frequent combing. Otherwise, they would look sleazy. "No, despite the fact that it's called Book of Sand, it's not an actual book, but a short fantasy story with only 2000 words. The author is the Argentinean writer, Jorge Luis Borges. This is his most recognized work," explained Zhang Zian. He'd read the story a long time ago, but he still remembered it because it was so mind-blowing.

Most importantly, the page number of the book was endless, and he could never find the beginning nor the end. New pages always appeared out of nowhere, and the book had pictures like a dictionary.　　
The stranger said that he bought this book from a village. The salesperson called it The Book of Sand, as it was endless like sand.　　
It was a very strange book, but the stranger was willing to sell it to the man at a relatively low price. In fact, he'd wanted to get rid of it for a long time.　　
After getting this book, that man also became its slave. He stopped going out, for he loved the book so much that he couldn't step away from it. He studied it all day and night, because of his obsessive interest in it. He could no longer sleep. And even if he did sleep, he dreamed about it all the time.　　
Like the stranger, the man suddenly realized that his life would be completely ruined if he continued on this way. So he decided to get rid of this nightmare just as the stranger did.　
After getting this far, Zhang Zian suddenly started acting mysterious and asked, "Can you guess how the hero got rid of the book?"　　
Meng Li was completed drawn in by this odd story. He stopped combing the Cocker Spaniel's fur and took a guess. "Did he sell it to somebody else, like the stranger did?"
Zhang Zian smiled. "He did something smarter. He hid it like a tree in the forest. When nobody was watching, he hid the book on a bookshelf of a national library with 0.9 million books, and tried not to remember which shelf it was. He never even visited the street where the library was."　　
Meng Li knocked on the table with excitement. "Great idea! If he did so, this Book of Sand could no longer be found, unless some extremely unlucky guy picked it up, with a chance of 1 out of 0.9 million!"　　
Zhang Zian smiled bitterly.  This extremely unlucky is sitting right in front of you, and offered you a glass of orange juice.　
He remembered that when Pi first arrived at the pet shop, it would make a gesture of slipping sand out of its hand. Back then, he thought that it was referring to the sand of Ganges river. Could he be wrong?　　
"So is the story is over?" Meng Li was looking forward to hearing more.　　
Zhang Zian nodded. "It's finishes with an open ending. Professor, is this Book of Sand similar to The Hyperwebster Dictionary?"

"Well..." Meng Li thought about it. "If I got the Book of Sand, I might read it. If I would end up getting obsessed over it like the man from the story...I'm not sure, maybe. "It is, in fact, very much related." Zhang Zian spoke firmly. "Professor Meng, do you know the second half of this quote?"　　
"Well..." Meng Li had no idea.
