Once sales were made, Gun-Ho issued electronic tax invoices and added earnings and expenses to <Daily Earnings and Expenses> table in Excel, and then reported it to the owner.
 
Gun-Ho made sure to collect all receipts of every business expense incurred and attached them with glue to the back of an expense form he had purchased from a stationary store in order to properly document them. If there was a client with an outstanding balance for LP gas, Gun-Ho would make a collection phone call to that client as well. He also ran errands for the owner.
"Years of my life will go by like this?"
Gun-Ho was barely making a living; he felt anxious about getting old without saving money.
"It's Wednesday and I don't hear anything from that company in Asan which I had an interview with."
Gun-Ho was constantly checking his smartphone to see if there was any text message from the company. He increased the ringtone of his phone to make sure he didn't miss any calls. There was no phone call, let alone any text message.
"I don't think I got the job. Let's just move on; it is a lost cause. So many smart people are out there. I can't compete with them with my rubbish work experience and qualification. I just have to appreciate the opportunity for having a job interview with them."
Friday came around after Wednesday and Thursday. Gun-Ho gave up on getting a position in the company in Asan. He once again started looking through the newspaper classified section and WorkNet; however, there was no job advertisement which drew Gun-Ho's attention.
"The companies posting a bookkeeper job opening in a newspaper classified section will hire a female, not me. If they hire a male for the job, that's probably because the position is half bookkeeping and half irrelevant chores."
After work, Gun-Ho usually surfed the internet on his laptop in dim light or he went to the PC room in the neighborhood. He felt like he was falling so much farther behind in life compared to his high school friends, which made him feel depressed.
"Won-Chul Jo who is now married should be doing fine, shouldn't he? Byung-Tae Hwang who is working in a research facility of a startup company in Pangyo is getting married soon. He posted about his wedding on Facebook but didn't personally inform me. He could easily find my phone number by contacting Won-Chul or the others."
Gun-Ho drank soju almost every other day, and that increased his alcohol tolerance.
"I am destined to live in the countryside. My life is f*cked up. I have ShinWangJaeWang fate? ShinWangJaeWang my a*s."
 
It had been more than two weeks since Gun-Ho had a job interview with the company in Asan. The memory of the interview was fading away when he received a phone call from that company, a very unexpected one at that.

Bella was not sure of what she was doing right then. That moment, when Aunt Sussy compelled, she had decided to give it a go. But right now, at the entrance of the huge building whose address was given on the notification, she was unsure. It would be so unfair to chase her dreams when everything was a mess. She was in so much of need of money, and she wondered why someone would be willing to provide free education and money to a total stranger. She has heard about rich people providing charity for getting fame, and she wondered whether this person was one such. 
"Anyways, I reached till the doorstep. Even though there is no chance for me to get selected, I'll just give it try." Bella told herself. She knew everything in this world happens only if they got connections. Even petty jobs require someone to recommend, so that a person can get the job. So, for this place too, a person might be already fixed. An interview might just be a routine procedure.
She reached on correct time, but couldn't see anyone waiting for an interview, so she enquired at the reception.
"Please go to the manager's room. It's the first room when you go right." The receptionist said. She looked very young and pretty and had thick lipsticks because of which she was careful in parting away with her lips. Hence, it gave Bella a little difficulty in catching up the sentence.
Bella finally managed to reach a room where 'Manager' was return in the top of entrance. She knocked on the door and since she cannot hear, she took the bold step to open the door. There was two men, one on the chair whose face Bella couldn't see since he was faced with his back towards her and the other man jerked as he saw the door open suddenly.
"I did not ask you to come." The man who was standing said to Bella.
"Sorry! I cannot hear. I thought you might have asked me to enter. I ve already checked myself at the reception." Bella asked apologetically with her signs, hoping the person would understand.
"mmm… you are for the interview, right?" He asked seriously and pulled out a chair beside the other man who was still turned on the other side busy with something. He then stood up and walked towards another door which was in front of him swiftly. Bella wondered if she had seen him somewhere, even though she only saw a portion of his back. She shook the unwanted thoughts and focused on the current scenario.
"Yes." Bella nodded.
"Okay. Tell me. What's your dream. If we provide you with money and other facilities, what is it that you would like to become?" He questioned.
"My dream was to become a doctor, but with my disabilities, I think becoming a doctor would be almost impossible. So if I am given the opportunity, I would like to become a nurse, which I think, if I try my best, I can manage." Bella gave her reply.
"mmm… For that, you should promise to complete, within the course time, and study with full dedication. Moreover, you should promise to not do any other jobs at that time, such as part time jobs, or anything, that can tire you and prevent you from getting good results, are you okay with that?"
He was staring at Bella hard. It was as if Bella's answer meant life to him.
"But sir…" was Bella's expression and she was about to reject the said offer, when the man suddenly spoke,
"We promise to provide you with Thousand dollars per month for your expenses." Bella was open mouthed and she forgot what she was going to say.
"Its not like you got the job. It's only an interview!" Bella told herself.
"Is it okay for you?" The person asked with an anxious look.
"It's a huge sum of money. I would be grateful to you if you give me a chance. I promise to work hard and pay you back once I…" Bella was still struggling with her signs when the man opposite her stood up.
"You are selected. You have to do as you promised. Boss is a very impatient person. If he finds you are not following his requests, he may get very angry." He spoke in a serious tone.
Bella still couldn't believe what she heard.
She got selected! But how? Everything went so smooth and simple and there was nobody to recommend her. So how come she got selected? Bella was in utter shock. She has attended many interviews in the past, but cleared none of it, mainly because of her disability. And so, this time she couldn't believe..!

"Yes... Please...!" He was literally pleading the girl to get lost.
"AHhh!" He sighed in relief as soon as she saw the girl was out.
"You have done a good job." He heard his boss's voice and composed himself to a stern bow.

Back in the bandit camp, one robust and rogue-like a person was drinking a wine uncouthly, a sexy woman sat on his sturdy thigh as she massaged his shoulder, the man's hand groped the woman's ass.

"Bwahaha!" the man called Boss Dong slammed the wine onto the table, loudly said, "Easy Squeezy, just attacking some miserable poor sods' caravans."

Suddenly the voice of his subordinate urgingly came from outside his tenth, Boss Dong pulled up his pants and strode outside, He also didn't forget to carry his blunt weapon.

"You better had good reason cockblocking me, otherwise, meat paste!"

"Boss, Dong Li came back!" 

"So?"

"He only returned alone!"

"And?"

"He was missing half of his arm!"

"That's it?!"

Boss Dong began to swing his blunt weapon, roared loudly, "Our job was high risk, the wound was our breakfast and missing limbs is our lunch, death was our dinner, what's so unusual about it?!"

"But Boss, he came back bearing a letter and money..." one of the bandits put up a terrified gesture.

Boss Dong wrinkled his eyebrows, in all honesty, he didn't want to send people to work around Floating Cloud City but the other side of the party had given payment, and it was pretty darn rich for an easy job.

Now came another one, he started to think the job was not as simple as he thought. 

"Bring me the letter," Boss Dong said, he's greedy but not stupid.

The bandit approached him while the trembling, the fucking figure in front of him was 3 feet taller than him.

Boss Dong read the content inside the letter, afterward, he laughed out loud, said, "Send out Dong Ba and Dong Xe, told them to sneak into the forest behind the mountain nearby Xiao Clan tomorrow."

"What's the mission Boss?" the bandit respectfully asked.

"Very simple," Boss Dong squinted his eyes, said, "we just need to kill a girl."

Xiao Che and Xia Qingyue returned to their house, of course, they left without unnoticed as Xiao Che left behind a very respectful and mild-mannered message.

Xia Qingyue's face slightly red, then she shook her head.

"What is it?" Xiao Che wrinkled his eyebrows.

"I am still not sure about this..."

"I understand..." Xiao Che sat on the chair and said, "let me tell you a story."

Xia Qingyue had a tick mark on her temple, she followed his order begrudgingly.

She unbutton her blue dress and laid gently on the bed, her slender, clear and lustrous back presented for his eyes, down to her ample and alluring rear, the flawless skin and figure that enough to hold his breath for every time.

Xiao Che controlled his mood, then climbed the bed while placing the preparation on the small table beside it. He stared into her smooth like fluid back, couldn't help but extended his hand and traced it.

"Xiao Che, focus!" Xia Qingyue abruptly said with a red face.

"Yes, yes, I am, uh... tracing the acupoints," he said, obviously not true.

Xia Qingyue buried her face into the pillow, slightly feeling ashamed right now.

Xiao Che began to hold the needles one by one with his left hand, he dipped the needle into medicine, then stuck carefully the needle into her acupoints, every time the needle inserted into the points, the Sky Poison Pearl mark will let out a green light, and within his line of sight, the acupoints of her Profound Vein entrances was glowing, thanks to <<Calculator>> App. 

His movement was slow and careful, making sure without single mistakes, he would take a deep breath every time he picked a needle and exhaled it out once he had stick it to Xia Qingyue's back.

After doing about five needles, Xiao Che would take a small break, he drank a medicine pill to suppress his injury and gulped a whole lot of water.

Xia Qingyue stayed silent with closed her eyes, she had been focusing her attention to her back and noticed every time Xiao Che will stop and took a break. Her temperament remained calm but her heart actually rocked with emotion. 

'It must be quite suffering for him...' she thought, remebered that he didn't exactly recover. 

She also noticed that every silver needle that stung her back would carry a profound strength. 

Yesterday, Xiao Che had practiced using his Profound Strength in the morning, Elementary Profound Realm could only let out an abysmal portion of Profound Strength, and at his level, it took almost all of his power.

Sweats beaded his body, breath became shallow.

Xiao Che now no longer wore his upper shirt as it no longer comfortable for him, his stability was getting lesser and lesser by every needle.

As he picked the last needle, Xiao Che fell upward and slammed himself onto the bed, laying beside Xia Qingyue.

She startled at this and quickly looked at him, the man was stiff and red as hell.

"Xiao Che!" she couldn't hide the worry inside, quickly sat on the bed and swayed his body.

"I am... I am fine... hah... just need to close my eyes... for a bit," Xiao Che mumbled, his both eyes closed, then after a while, a snore could be heard in the room.

"..." Xia Qingyue's usual frosty expression went dim, she didn't immediately test out whether the result was a success or not, she laid beside him and traced his face.

"Rest well..." she paused a bit before saying, "husband."

Tia gulped in nervouseness, but she did not have the guts to refuse to Eva. She knew this was not the right time to refuse the girl and thus she nodded her head in approval. 

Eva then displayed first article from the pen- drive, and every one was left stunned looking at the screen. The article was not just flawless, but was based on most accurate re-search and statistics. "Now this is the most perfect article, I have ever read on global warming and environment protection. Not a single mistake I could spot and everything including the format is perfect." Eva smiled gleefully pointing at the screen. 

"Indeed! This is fabulous! Eva, this will be the first article on booklet and also, the cover page will be designed according to environment protection theme. Then we will study the graphs in sale of booklet after a few days." The middle aged boss spoke up excitedly looking at Eva. 

"Yes boss. So, I have selected five more articles, for which I need your approval." Eva was about to switch to the next article when Hector stood up from his seat. 

"No need Eva. Me and dad have decided that we are now making you the incharge of the monthly booklet from today itself. You can work on its designing and also select articles as per your wish. We trust you completely!" Hector smiled, looking at the girl in much admiration and esteem. 

Eva gasped in shock as she could not believe what the man had just said. "You... you mean... another promotion? Wow!!" The girl wanted to dance around the table in much excitement and do multiple cartwheels right in the meeting room. It was extremely difficult for her to now contain her happiness, and she was already imagining the possibilities and creativity she could impart in the booklet. "Th.... thank you boss!" 

"Don't thank us. We should thank you Eva. You showed us the truth or we would have never known what was happening behind our backs." The middle aged man spoke up, turning to look at Tia in much frustartion. 

Tia was standing in much shock as Eva was hogging all the limelight and had also snatched away the booklet responsibility from her. 

"You are fired Tia. You will get your letter and the payment in few minutes from the reception. Your services are not needed any more!!" The man suddenly shouted looking at the blonde girl. 

Everybody including Eva, gasped in much astonishment as the girl had just been fired. 

Tia too gasped in shock as her hands trembled in fear and anxiety. This job was currently the only major source of income for her family and it was through this job, her sister had also started her writing career. "But... But sir please. What will I do without this job? My family will be left hungry!!" The girl blinked rapidly, trying to fight back her tears.

Eva pursed her lips and an enormous amount of guilt engulfed her mind. She did not know that Tia would be fired from her job and neither did she know, how important this job was for her. 

"You should be happy Tia, that I did not blacklist you from getting any other job. Nor did I file a law suit against you, for your fraudulant activities." The angry man spoke up in much frustration, looking at her in much hatred. 

A tear dropped down from Tia's eye and she quickly wiped it away. Her hands were trembling rapidly, and she was now immensely scared. She was scared for her family now! Her father's clothing brand was in huge loss and her sister had just begin her career. If she lost this job her entire family will be in shambles! "Boss! I am really very sorry. I swear, I shall never do it again. But please don't fire me... p.. p... please.. I beg of you." Another tear fell down from her eye and she looked at Hector in much remorse. "Boss please. This job is very important to me. Please." She folded her hands in request, now bursting into tears. 

Everybody was stunned to see the girl cry hysterically, and could never imagine seeing the bossy girl in this condition. The fake image that she had created for herself had been shattered. The once considered rich and influential girl, was now begging for her job and everybody was just starring at her in much disbelief. 

"No Tia. One year of losses of booklet is too much to handle. Do you realise how much you have harmed the profits and reputation of the company?" Hector's father spoke up in much anger. 

Tia wiped away her tears and nodded her head. She then picked up her bag and her cell phone, and started walking towards the exit door, feeling extremely dejected. Eva's heart was now filled with immense guilt and she looked at her boss in a little hesitation. "Boss.. please don't fire her."

Bill goes back to their room stunned and surprised.

Louise stopped reading when his phone rang out in the middle-- " cute slave calling"  he was startled and closed the diary that he was reading when he picked up the phone.
" Hello? " he said as he forgot who she is. 
" Ah Mr. Venercheck this is Ellie. I am at the Lobby right now, May I please know which way should I proceed? " 
Louise just remembered that he was about to call back to clarify the contract but  forgot about this matter. 
" Ahhhh... oh I see, can you proceed to the 7th floor I need to discuss something with you.

Ellie finally reached the 7th  floor where the office of Louise is located  however she was struggling at the elevator due to her luggage. As she finally walked to the office she felt a little nervous due to the intimidating vibe of the office no wonder this laboratory was accredited internationally because of its modern design and facility.
 He tried to knock on the door but everything was quiet when suddenly a man walks on the hallway and saw her peaking on the glass door. 
" Follow me, I will talk to you at the meeting room it's on the other side " 
Elle was surprised about how cool he said those words, his voice is just so manly that it lingers on her  ears, even though she was a little scared of his presence; she still followed him unto the next door. 
" Please take a seat " Louise commanded politely.  
Louise was waiting for her to finally enter the room but she was struggling to fit in from the door due to her huge Luggage. 
" You may leave that outside for now, and pick it up later on " 
She left it beside the door and entered the meeting room herself. They are now both seated.

" Ammm to start with, I don't know how to say this ... but ahh I really did not initiate this job posting, the one who interviewed you was me but it's not like it's me" Louise explained with uncertainty. 
Elle looked so confused, during the video call interview the other night the lights were dimmed, but she is certain that it's the same person.
" I know you're a little bit confused right now  but maybe I was just a little drunk that time and played  pranks on you " Louise tried to give her an alibi. 
"But Mr. Venercheck everything was so precise, was project Elisa 1811 also part of the prank?
" Project Elisa do exist, but it is a secret and personal project of mine" 
" I know you told me during the interview that you only need one person for the job because of its confidentiality" 
" Yeah but I have not decided to ..... " 
" Please Mr. Venercheck, this job is the only option I have, I might end up in the streets after this" 
" What do you mean by that ? 
looks at the doors where her luggage is... 
" I was  evicted from my apartment, because I can't pay my rent ... blocked by agencies because of a former boss connection"
" And why would he do that? " 
" It was my fault, I messed up the designer bag of her daughter and got fired after 10 minutes"

" Mr. Venercheck, Are you okay? " Ellie was genuinely worried.
He suddenly looked at her eye to eye with sharp eyes as if nothing happens. 
" Of course , I'm totally fine ... go back to your sit " before Elle about  to take a seat
" You may start tomorrow ,I already have an assignment prepared for you, you better brace yourself. It's not going to be an easy job and no turning back, remember the contract ?" 
" Yes , I agree with everything, thank you so much for this opportunity, so this is not a prank anymore " Ellie wanted some reassurance. 
 
"  Psssh ( smirk ) that punk really takes me as a joke " 
" No it wasn't what I meant " Ellie apologised.
" ( laugh ) straighten up ! I wasn't referring to you"

" What ? ah – ahmmm " she just raised her thumbs up like an involuntary muscle .

 " You're right, I am just way cooler right now that jerk is just so boring, See ya around! "
 
She was so relieved that she got the job, however, she's still confused about what did she do to be called punk or jerk, not unless his boss has a third eye to see extraterrestrial things in the room. She proceeds to a room at the 7th floor where she will be staying, according to her contract she has to stay in the office until they finish project Elisa 1811 even though she doesn't know what it is; she's too broke at the moment that uncertain things like this become a blessing.

I opened my eyes and saw Seoyeon sleeping in my arms next to me. A smile slowly spread across my face as I lean in to kiss her forehead. I am too happy at the moment. I wish time would stop so she can forever stay in my arms like this.

"Hi, beautiful. Did you sleep well?"

"Morning Jungkook."

"Morning? It's past noon Seoyeon." I answered her.

"PAST NOON!" She quickly got up. "Oh no, what am I going to do? I'm late for work!"

"How are you late when your boss is right here next to you." I laughed answering her question while getting up to sit next to her.

"Besides, I don't want to go into work today. Let's play hooky today. I want to go on our first official date today." I asked her anticipating she will agree.

"Well... since my boyfriend is my boss. I really shouldn't refuse anything my boss asks of me should I? Guess I can play hooky today." She giggled.

Boyfriend?

I smiled sheepishly upon hearing that word.

Boyfriend... she is really mine now, isn't she?

I pulled her in again for a hug.

"Please tell me I really am not dreaming. I feel like this all a beautiful nightmare and I will wake up to reality soon."

Seoyeon hugs me back tighter.

"You are not dreaming Jungkook. I really do like you."

She pulls away from me and looks into my eyes.

"I think I fell for you the moment you held me in your arms when..... when I was feeling so depressed and wanting to give up everything. I felt so safe and secure in your arms. I thought you wouldn't want to see me anymore after... that incident, but instead, you kept me close to you. I locked away my heart because of my guilt towards Taehyung Oppa. I thought if I broke your heart, you would be able to forget me. I'm sorry for hurting you Jungkook."

I nodded and smile to let her know I understand and held her in my arms once again.

"But... now that I think about it, how did you get in here?" I asked. I had totally knocked out cold. The only thing I remembered was being at the bar with my Hyungs.

She smiled and reached into her pocket.

"This letter is for you."

"A letter?"

"A letter that you.... sort of wrote to yourself." She smiled. "I want to go home to shower and change for our date. Should I meet you back here?"

Yoongi Hyung had shown up next to me. I figured he must be here to take me. I smile towards him.

"Are you ready to leave now?"

He snapped his fingers and a white door appears right next to my grave. He proceeds towards the door. He was about to snap his fingers again when I interrupted.

"Wait. Before we go Yoongi Hyung, I have something to say to you."

He turns his attention to me as I made my way closer to him.

"I never felt like you were a grim reaper. Instead, you were more of a guardian angel to me, to Seoyeon, and to Jungkook."

He lowered his head staring down to the ground as if it was the most interesting thing in the world.

"But in the end...." Yoongi whispered. "I'm still here to take you. I have never hated my job as much as I do now. I'm sorry Taehyung."

He couldn't lift his head to look at me.

"Hyung, it's okay. I'll be reborn. I'll make sure to live a long life in the next lifetime."

"You better. I don't ever want to see you again after this." Yoongi replied finally looking up at me and for the first time ever, I saw a smile on his face.

"You ready now?" He asked once again.

"Yes, I'm ready now."

He snaps his finger and the white door slowly started to open. I proceed towards the door, but then stopped. There was someone standing at the other end of the door. A woman.

Yoongi saw my confused expression. Puzzled by my reaction he turns towards the door. His eyes wide open as he quietly whispers.....

"S-Suran..."

"Kim Taehyung, Born December 30th..." The strange man replied.

"How- how did you know my name? Who are you?"

He ignored my question. His dark gaze was staring at me. They were so cold and emotionless. It was like there was no life in those dark orbs.

"It seems you are unaware of your situation Taehyung. I have something to tell you..."

His hands made its way into his pocket as he leaned in towards me.

"You are dead."

As few days passed from this memorable evening, but still I can't pick up myself. I'm just not able to understand why a man whom I loved, and with whom I associated a common hope and happy future could do something like THAT?! I can't describe what I felt before... before THIS, but the word closest to my soul at this time was "happiness". Yes, this state of heart, when you are finally sure that you've found the man of your life – this only one who never betray you, which support you in harsh time and bring you flowers to your work at no reason...
And just when I've touched this state, Ian fucked another girl.

I sit alone at home and this shitty situation brings me just to howl in despair! This asshole called me regularly by the whole afternoon, then pounded to the door, but I pretended that I'm not here. But in fact I was hidden in the bedroom, under the covers, swallowing tears of anger, despair and grief. My mind's eye I see Joan, when she gives him deeply, wet kiss, and then they laugh from my stupidity and good heart...

After a long time I was able to pick up myself enough to call Annette, my best friend. Two bottles of my favorite wine (YOSSA V.S.O.P. 1995) are lying in the cabinet; I want to drink a few glasses and talk with… someone. Finally, there is a duty of friends of the heart after all, right? But of course, they are never at hand when are most needed!!! Annette 's phone was stubbornly silent, so I decided that I drink alone – I need some alcohol, especially today. I stood along with the cabinet, thinking about the choice of the appropriate glass, when my eyes fell on a pile of letters, thrown carelessly on the fridge – apparently my roommate emptied mailbox and left my part at the agreed place. She always puts my letters on the refrigerator, while I'm leaving her correspondence under the mirror. But do I really want to view them now? If I skip it until tomorrow, today will be one bad news less. A few weeks ago I replied to an advertisement for an internship. It was a very large and well-known newspaper, and probably they troubled themselves to send me a negative note, in which in polite words they wished me "the great successes in career development" – unfortunately not with them... I'm not in the mood today for another defeat. I prefer to drink some wine and think about my future carrier as a provincial school librarian. Well, but if... if they are not refused me? What then?! Am I really ready to go to the big city, to begin a new life?

I take out a bottle from the cabinet and slowly pour the wine into the glass, savoring its color, texture, and bouquet, and finally a beautiful, harmonized taste. Hmm, maybe enough of that? Whom you are trying to deceive, poor girl? After all, you can't distinguish the harmonized taste from any other. I just like this wine, so there's no sense to feign the sommelier. At the end of the first bottle wine, it's really outstanding, but when I opening the second one, the thoughts about Ian suddenly grasps me again, and memories are coming back with a painful force! I remember that I tried to call Annette again, crying into the phone on the whole damn world, and then... I think I went to bed?

I wake up in the morning with a terrible headache and a horrible hangover. Well, I drank yesterday two bottles of wine... I am moving slowly to the kitchen, and then, still almost blind from pain, swallow aspirin, strong painkiller and a sedative, then, ignoring the protests of the stomach, sip it all with milk. I remember vaguely that I had something to do today… but what? Go out? Well, of course – check the mail! I'm nervously searching through the leaves of paper – outdated greetings, gas bill, banknote... Ach, it is! Elegant envelope with the logo of "mine" newspaper. I tear it rapidly, my hands are shaking from emotions, so I have problems with deciphering the letter. Madam! Thank you for your application... Come on, come on! We are happy to welcome you on a three-month internship...
My emotions are so high that I'm just sitting on the floor. They took me for an internship! So all my sleepless nights and my dreams – spells almost! – finally, have a chance to appear!

Well, so when I'm supposed to be there...? I look back to the letter – the day after tomorrow?! But I do not even have a place to stay, and besides that, what I have to wear?! It's a great newspaper and I need to look absolutely professional, not as a provincial librarian! I'm turning upside down all my wardrobes, but except clothes good enough for barbecue or countryside disco I can't find absolutely NOTHING! In desperation I grab the phone and call Annette, begging her in my soul to be somewhere nearby at this time. And she is, thanks to God!
– Well, sweet, you will not believe what happened! – I'm triumphantly declaring the good news. 
– I know very well – she interrupts me with a cold voice. – Yesterday you've recorded on my cell a few minutes of drunken gibberish, something about an internship in the newspaper. Now I understand from your tone that it was a positive message – because yesterday it was hard for me to judge.
I accept her malice stoically, without commenting them even without a single word – apparently sedative is working. Just after an hour of conversation, our plan of action begins to be more clear. Annette has a sister, with whom I will stay for some time, and tomorrow we go for round-over shops to supply my wardrobe. I want to start a new chapter in my life – with a clean sheet and... without Ian.

It was really crazy raid around malls, but I've hunted two pretty good jackets. Packed in only three suitcases, I'm saying goodbye to Annette and after a few hours of train journey landing in the capital. My flat is located far away on the outskirts, but is clean and nicely decorated, and Karina, my roommate and Annette 's sister, seems to be a pleasant and kind girl. Quite good beginning, I said to myself, dressing up in a new jacket, bought especially for the first day to work. It is true that it is only an internship, but I hope to that after it I'll get a real job and stay here for longer than the initial three months. Following Karina's advice, I left home in advance, adding time for traffic jams. Fortunately, I'm arriving on my destination at a time (still a lucky day!), as headquarters of the newspaper are located at the office building in the center of the city. Along with a few other people I'm going into the elevator and the doors had already started to close, when at the last moment high, a slightly breathless woman ran to it. Everyone instinctively moved away from her, as she looks not as woman, but the fiery lightning. Fury bursts through her body, from the tips of high heels to the mane of fire-red hairs, which curls around her face – even pretty, but now contorted in a grimace of rage. She turned on her heel to the door, showing all people around how tires her even this temporary company; her movement was so violent that workbooks she kept scatters on the floor of the elevator. The woman turns furiously on our side, then looks straight at me.
– Well, what are you standing there, you idiot?! – yells at me furiously. – You scattered it, so be kind to gather now!

Her anger has an almost physical impact on me. Without a word of protest I'm collecting scattered papers, and then giving them to flaming fury. She measures me with scornful eyes, then smiles contemptuously and turns to the door, no longer gracing me with her attention. I stand like paralyzed, almost afraid to breathe. The elevator stops at the next floor and now we are only two in it. In my head borns terrifying suspicion: have we going to the same floor? Well, the elevator panel illuminates only one digit. And it means... it means that we will work together in the same company. With all the strength I'm trying to keep a straight face – how nicely my work begins! Or maybe I'll leave it all, turn around and go home? I will probably have to work with this harpy every day. Oh God, what if she is my boss?!

We leaving the elevator together and going to the same door – I was right! Harpy throws a mocking glance on me and then disappears in the depths of the office. So nice, it seems that I have the first enemy here, even before had occasion to begin a new job. I wonder if I have a talent for this, or it was simply bad luck, just meeting of the wrong person at the wrong time and place? But as soon as reported to the front desk, bad thoughts quickly goes out of my head – the next few hours turns into one big vortex of talks with my new colleagues, arranging desk, signing various documents and "induction training", first of many awaiting me. Seems that my boss is away, but I'll meet him in the evening, on... banquet. Is this real editor's work – going from one party to another? 
– Don't be stupid – says Henrietta, one of the others girls on internship period when I confide in her with my doubts. – Boss is always attended on such banquets, as it's a great opportunity to hear the latest gossip and check who is going up... and who not. We both go there straight from work. He wants to see us there, and maybe you receive your first task?
