Chatri Pricha had been fighting ever since he was young. He's left with no family, no food, no money, and he could only turn to Muay Thai. He fought for the Muay Thai temples, sometimes winning, sometimes losing. He eventually found himself in the "Boxer's Muay Thai Gym" where he finally found a place he could call home. Despite his hardworking attitude, his record is 7 wins and 10 losses- and he knew that he could never be big. After losing his job as a Nak Muay (Muay Thai Fighter), Chatri left his apartment in search of another job. A flying flyer hit his face though- and it said that an RPG is looking for beta testers. Chatri had always been true to himself- but can he keep that attitude when he is put in a Fully Immersive RPG? Can he survive without weapons- and be the weapon instead?

"Of course. We'll make sure we can make it. You know very well how many people in this world want to taste the real Rose Island, Rachel."

The king spoke with a smile. Rachel smiled back and looked back at Martin. Martin thought for a moment and then nodded. Rachel Rose would show off her cooking for the king. Nothing could be more impactful than this. He had no reason to stop it.

"Luckily, the PD seems to be okay with it, too. Shall we do it tonight for dinner?"

"We're always ready. We'll let the kitchen know right now."

"No need to rush. I don't know whose it is, but look how carefully the desserts were made. Let's enjoy this first."

"Oh no… I must've been too rushed."

It was unlike the king to be so impatient, as he had the reputation for being calm. But he couldn't help it. It had already been 10 years since he tasted Rachel Rose's cooking. To be more exact, it was a meal cooked by Rachel Rose and her husband, Daniel Rose, but even if Daniel wasn't around anymore, Rachel was capable enough on her own.

Anderson took a bite of the crepe in front of him and opened his mouth cautiously.

"Rachel. May I assist you?"

"Thanks, Anderson. You're so kind."

Rachel looked at Anderson proudly. Anderson smiled and then continued to eat the crepe with a straight face. The crepe, which had cream on top, was surprisingly sweet and soft. It was as if he put the sweetest and coldest meringue in his mouth. He couldn't tell if that was because of the chef or what Rachel said. Cho Min Joon opened his mouth.

"I'll help, too."

"Me too."

Sarah immediately joined in after Cho Min Joon. After that, Jeremy and Emily couldn't just sit back either. Jeremy coughed and said, "Jeez, I thought I wouldn't have to enter a kitchen on this show."

"I never asked you to help."

"You have such a temper, Rachel. I know you don't like me, but remember this, we're filming right now."

"I know. That's why I'm speaking with manners."

"Ha!"

Jeremy laughed and shook his head. He didn't want to fight anymore. He didn't want to think about anything except for the Thom Yam Thai.

Emily hesitated before looking at Rachel with an awkward face.

"I'm really bad at this stuff… But can I help you?"

"That'd be lovely. Just think of it as practice for when you get married. It'll be fun."

"M-married? I'm not even dating anyone…!"

"Who knows? From what I've heard… N-never mind."

Rachel stared at Emily before shutting her mouth in front of the king. She asked the king,

"Is there a dish you'd like to eat?"

"To be honest, there's a dish that I miss from 10 years ago."

"What is it?"

"The two-course meal you made me and my wife."

"… Oh, that."

Rachel traced back her memory and then nodded. Her eyes were twinkling with sincerity. Cho Min Joon took a look at Rachel's window.

'… Impressive.'

He was in awe of her scores. Cooking score of 9. When he first saw that, he thought it was a given because she was famous. So he thought it was possible for her to be that skilled, and he wasn't surprised by her level 8 baking score either. Since she was older, she probably had enough time to polish her baking skills.

But he was surprised by her level 9 in tasting skill. Compared to when she was younger, her tastebuds were less sensitive. So the fact that she was still a level 9… meant one of two things. That she maintained her tongue well, or that her tasting level was so outstanding that not even her palate could bring her down.

It was possible that she was a level 10 in tasting at one point.

The same went for her decoration level—10. This was the first time he saw a 10 after Kaya's 10 in tasting. How talented was she? Even Anderson, who was a level 7 in decoration, was surprised by her fancy designs. Kangaroos made of lemon, turtles made of olives. They were in awe quite a few times.

What kind of extraordinary dishes would Rachel make? He was excited. On the other hand…

Besides his tasting level, Jeremy wasn't that impressive. He said he was a chef once, but he probably wasn't very talented. It was also possible he became rusty over the years…

But when it came to food critics they just had to be good at tasting. And his tasting level was 9. Considering the fact that he was older than Rachel, that was impressive. Even the tip he gave him this morning. He transformed his Pad Thai from a 6-pointer to a 7 just by adding pepper oil and Thai vinegar. He had much to learn from him.

'I'll have to take it all.'

That was why he came on the tasting tour. Of course, it paid well, but the biggest reason why Cho Min Joon joined the show was to learn. And right now, Rachel was in front of him.

He was hungry, and his greed was a bit much to satisfy his appetite.

"Wow, that was delicious."

Inside the kitchen, they thanked all of the chefs with respect. Unfortunately, none of them could speak English, but when they told them it was delicious in Thai, they said thank you with a smile.

While the chefs left the kitchen, Cho Min Joon noticed the backside of someone of a bigger stature. She had just turned 50, and her cooking level wasn't very high. 8. But it wasn't because she worked in the royal kitchen as a level 8. Seeing from the king's attitude, she appeared to have always made the Thom Yam Thai of the same high quality.

How could a level 8 make level 10 dishes so consistently? He couldn't help but question it. Of course, she probably practiced the same 10-point recipe numerous times… But it was still fascinating.

'Would it be possible if I practiced the perfect recipe?'

It wouldn't be easy. The sons and daughters who inherited their parents' restaurant tried to do that over the decades. It was possible that the chefs of the royal palace invested many years into making the Thom Yam Thai perfect.

"Today, we're going to make a two-course meal. A starter and a main. Just those two."

"I was curious about that. Why a two-course?"

Emily asked curiously. Rachel calmly answered, "When the king first visited my restaurant, he was tired of the course culture. It was understandable. In Thailand, they don't invest so much time into just one meal. So I thought I'd give him a shorter meal."

"What was it?"

"It's simple. An avocado soup as the starter… And for the main, I'll cook back ribs in Thom Yam, put ripped up crab meat on top… and cover the back ribs with it along with breadcrumbs before frying it again."

"… That's so complicated."

"That's not all. I'll also mix apple cider with white wine, and pickled cabbage, onions, and cucumber. I'll also cut potatoes to fry…"

Rachel rambled on with excitement before realizing the gazes around her.

"I'm sorry. I'm scared but also excited to be in the kitchen again."

"I understand."

"Shall we practice? We should serve the king with the best meal possible. Shall we begin?"

The cooking began. Since it was the royal kitchen, there was an abundance of ingredients. Rachel didn't rest and took a look around. She taught Sarah how to make the avocado soup, while she also talked to Cho Min Joon, who was boiling the back rips in Thom Yam broth.

"Do you know why we have to boil the back ribs for a short time rather than marinate it?"

"Hm… Is it because the Thom Yam is too strong? Because the flavor will be there even if it's not marinated for long."

"That too, but it's so that we achieve softer meat. Of course, some people might like a bit more chew to their meat, but you know the age of our customer. His teeth are not as healthy as that of young people. And that kind of small consideration makes all the difference. You may think it's unnecessary for a chef, but to the customer, they become touched to tears by it. The difference between first-rate and third-rate chefs are not the skills. It's how they treat their customers."

Rachel stared right into Cho Min Joon's eyes.

"Chefs exist to serve the customers. Chefs who don't consider customers are just people who cook, not chefs. Remember that. Chefs who ignore customers don't last long. That's what I've seen in my 60 years of life."

"I'll remember that."

"Good."

Rachel showed a soft smile. Anderson had cut up the crab meat and brought it mixed with starch. Rachel nodded and said, "Now batter it and fry it. I'll work on the potatoes."

The batter stuck onto the back ribs. They put bread crumbs on top of that, and as soon as they put it into the oil, the bubbles looked like lotus flowers. Cho Min Joon saw that and it reminded him of Kaya. Kaya Reuters.

'… This is a disease.'

By the time the back ribs were cooked, Rachel appeared. At that moment, Cho Min Joon was shocked. The potatoes in Rachels hands all looked different. Some looked like eagles while others looked like tigers. What was impressive was that the eagle showed distinct feathers while the tiger showed off its stripes, and she only took a few minutes to create them. Cho Min Joon spoke with a possessed voice, "You're amazing at carving…"

"To be honest, my husband was a better chef than me. But I didn't want to always rely on him, so I decided that if my husband took care of flavors, I would take care of the visuals. After practicing with that mindset, making art with food became easy."

She spoke as if it was no big deal, but it must've taken a long time to master. Married couples. Dating couples. They treasured each other the most, but they also didn't want to be the one who was lacking in the relationship. It was horrible to feel inferior to the person one loved.

The potatoes began to fry. By the time they took out the back ribs, Sarah approached with the cabbage, onion, and cucumbers that were pickled in apple cider and white wine. She wasn't lying when she said she liked cooking. Her smile said it all.

"I pickled it. What do I do now?"

"One moment. This pickle… doesn't smell right. Were the apple cider and white wine stored at room temperature?"

"Yes, I think so."

"Oh, I'm sorry. You have to start over. You have to pickle it when it's cold. Can you please do that again?"

"Of course. I'll be right back."

She had to start over, but Sarah didn't look upset about it. She nodded and walked off. She then paused for a second and looked back.

"Then what about this? Can I eat it?"

"Of course. But don't get too full... because I'll give you something more delicious."

"Yes!"

Sarah hugged her pickles and pumped her other fist. Cho Min Joon smirked. She was full of life. Anderson opened his mouth.

"I'm going to take it out."

"Oh, okay."

The strainer lifted the back ribs. Thanks to the crab meat, back ribs, and Thom Yam, the white batter was sparkling all over it with bread crumbs on top. On top of that, they placed Sarah's pickles on top, and Rachel decorated it with her potatoes.

Cho Min Joon looked at the status window with proud eyes.

9 points. He wasn't the one who made it, and he only helped out… But thanks to Rachel's direction, it was a 9. He realized how important head chefs were. They created dishes that were completely different with chefs of the same skill level. He realized what that was like. He couldn't help but respect her. But at the end of that respect, Rachel took a bite of the back rib and shook her head. She spoke in a stern voice, "Let's do that again."

Because of his love for cooking, he had thrown away his career as a teacher and had become a chef.
But despite his desires, his lack of cooking skills was the harsh truth he had to face.
But when he reached the age of 30, he had been sent back 7 years back into the past.
Another chance.

After sleepless night Marco got out of bed at 5AM in the morning, quite unusual for him. He finished brushing his teeth while putting sweatsuit. He checked if everything is in order in the house and left for morning jogging. He never did any exercise in his previous youth, so he got out of breath after only 30 min of running. While returning home he bought breakfast for himself and his sister. When he got home it was still early for Hera to wake up so he decided to do basic practice of MMA, Muay Thai and Systema that he knew.

Around 8AM Hera came down to the living room still sleepy. When she found out that Marco is lazing on sofa while watching TV she was shocked.

"Did sun came from the West ? My lazy brother got up earlier then me in the morning. Strange...Who are you and what did you do to my brother !? " ( eyes wide open ) Hera

"Its me you silly girl, i brought you your favorite breakfast. Its in the kitchen ... mmm probably cold right now. By the way are you going to school today? " Marco answered while chuckling

"Okay, i forgive you just because you got me my favorite. Nope its still summer holiday so why would i go to school ?" ( rolling eyes ) Hera

"Fine, its all my fault please forgive me Your Highness. So what plans do you have for today ? Do you want to hang out with me or will you go with you friends ?" asked Marco while spreading his arms

"Just go alone. I will stay at home and maybe invite some people here for some fun, house is empty anyway. " ( shrugged her shoulders ) Hera

After ruffling Hera`s hair Marco took car keys and run out of the house leaving his sister stomping her feat. He got in the car and started driving without any particular destination. While driving he was thinking about islands and what is needed to start that massive project of city construction.

Archipelago of 13 islands was in middle of Pacific ocean near equator with untouched nature and without humans interference. All that will change in near future. Later on those islands were known as Paradise Islands.

Main island and also the biggest one is located in the middle of other islands. To be exact it was surrounded. Surface area is approximately 500 km2. South side of island have big beach in shape of quarter of the moon. North side of the island have a cliff stretching from west to east. West side have an extinct volcano with height of 300-400 meters and on the east side there are lots of hills with different heights not passing 100 meters with lots of greenery and few waterfalls . In the middle of island is flat valley with surface area of 100 km2.

Other 12 islands surrounding main island are all different shape and size with smallest ones being 30-40 km2, while two other biggest islands are located on the east side of main island with surface area of 200-250 km2. Distance from islands to the main island doesnt cross mark of 20 km, so water is on most parts around islands shallow. Getting by ship to main island is impossible because of shallow waters.

While recalling this information about archipelago Marco almost started cursing out loud because logistic will be very problematic with current technology. Calculating everything he got to conclusion to wait for his parents to come back and ask them for money that he is short of. After few hours of driving and getting some fresh air he went back home.

For the next few days he developed a habit to get early and workout first, then get some food for him and Hera. Rest of the day he spent teasing Hera or going out for some fresh air. Saturday came in blink of an eye. Marco and his friends decided to meet up again in same location as last time in the shooting range.

Everyone was excited and arrived earlier. They started some small talks about how they spent last few days and what everyone was doing. When everyone got seated Mia started her findings about law and what can and cant be done with newly found land/island.

"Guys i managed to find some specialist who helped a lot about what we want to do. If we are talking about law and what are restrictions when finding new land, there are some. First you will need to submit that land under inspection to the country which is closest to see if there are any special resources and to find out if there are any people who are already occupying that land. If you pass that inspection everything else is much easier to handle. Are you sure that they wont find anything there ?" Mia

"Well with current level of technology they wont be able to find ore and there are no people on these islands so you dont need to worry about that." ( chuckles ) Marko

"Also you wont be able to register a new country and proclaim yourself as king, just letting you know." Mia

"My intention was never to make it a country before 2020 year, we can make it as resort or holiday destination with our families help it wont be to hard. Guys are you all free next week so we can go and check our new real estate. But before we go i will need to talk with my parents to give me more cash, everything i have on me wont be enough to start building our city." Marco

"I dont have anything planned, just spending my days bored to death. I am in, notify me when we will go. If you need money we can loan or give it to you, you know its not a big deal." Marius
"I know buddy and i am not embarrassed to ask but amount is huge. At the moment i got 210mil $ but i think we will need 5-10 more times than that amount." Marco
"We will help out as much as we can, but that amount is really huge" Mia
"We can talk about money and other plans when you guys see archipelago, for now its no use." Marco

When they finished talking about serious stuff they did few rounds of shooting and after that they went to their favorite bar to celebrate and have some fun while they still can. Damien was first to get drunk even tho he has such bulky body. They spent few hours in bar, afterwards everyone called for a cab and went home to rest. Next few days were uneventful for everyone. They stayed in contact and decided to travel to archipelago in 10 days time, also there would be a inspection team going with them. Mia hoped to get everything ready as soon as possible.

Few days after their last meeting Marco parents came back home. They were surprise to see their only son who never done anything physical in his entire life was working out. His parents are in late 30s, they still kept their appearance youthful even tho they have two grown up kids. Before she got married, his mother was international model. And his father is 2nd generation from rich family whose involvement was in few different heavy and light industries. Hera and Marco got their looks mostly from their mother.After few minutes of watching Marco`s workout while exchanging glances with each other they decided to interrupt him because of disbelief of what they were seeing, also they wanted to know what made him do it.

"Little rascal is this how you great you mother, i wasnt able to sleep the whole trip and hoped you would became little sensible and pick me up at airport." ( wiping fake tears ) Mom

That is his mother Andriana, if someone saw her behaving like this their jaws would probably fall down to the ground. Except her kids and husband no one else could see this kind of transformation. Most of the time her look is cold and indifferent. While she is in her late 30s time was kind to her, she still looks as someone who is in mid of 20s.

When he heard this familiar female voice, Marco chocked at first then guilt overcame, because if nothing changes he wont be able to protect his family. After few moments he run toward his mother and hugged her all of a sudden, which gave big surprise to his parents. His father came close to them and smacked Marco on the head while saying.

"Brat stop hugging my wife or i will beat you up." Dad

Marco was happy that his family is reunited again so he didnt mind much his father hit. If it was in the past he would flair up and started arguing with him the moment he got hit. Even tho his father is only 3 years older then his mother, overwork and stress from companies didnt spare his look. He is full of vitality even tho he looks little older then he actually is. His father name is Brian.

"Tsk. Old man you sure had 1000 lives of luck accumulated to get this beauty as your wife. Mom lets leave this old man here and go on vacation. We can be each other wingman." ( winking to his mother ) Marco

"You DARE , i will break of your legs if you try to do the same thing like you did 3 years ago !! " Dad
"Mom save me, this grandpa wants to hit me with his walking stick... Hahahaha" Marco
"You two stop fooling around or i really might go on vacation... with Hera " ( was amused ) Mom

After having some fun, three of them went to dinning room to have family breakfast. Moving toward dinning room Marco yelled to Hera, to come down for breakfast. Few minutes later Hera came down and when she saw her parents she was puzzled and started blinking while asking.

"Huh where is my breakfast and what are they doing here ?" Hera
"What breakfast, i called you to come and make some for us. And how could you forget when mom and dad would come ?" ( rolling his eyes ) Marco
"Smelly brother !!! First you are the one who forgot when they will come back and second how could you forget to buy me something to eat." ( fake crying ) Hera
"Dont bully your sister, or no more allowance for you brat" Dad
"Dear, can you tell your mom what is wrong with your brother...he seems like different person." Mom
"Heyyyyyy i am still sitting here." Marco
"I dont know, one day when he woke up he started changing his habits. Like he stopped going to night clubs, he started running in the morning and doing some practice. He also started making me food. Really strange, i think he is replaced by aliens or he is someone else." Hera

All three of them started looking at Marco trying to figure out what is wrong with him, but they couldnt see anything. They were secretly happy because his change can only be a good thing. Marco was thinking "How could i not change " the things i`ve done and lost, if i dont change myself you all would leave me.

"I couldnt believe what i was seeing, so i took some of his hair samples and run it through in our labs to be sure he really is my brother. I was disappointed when i saw the results... He is the same person." ( pouting ) Hera

When he heard what Hera said he spat his food out of his mouth. He couldnt believe what he heard.

"I dont believe it !!! What kind of wolf i am rising. How could you do this to me." Marco
"Dad he called me wolf !! Dont give him any money for next 3 months." Hera
"You are right pumpkin, will do as you say." Dad
"Stop calling your sister names. Anyway its good that you became sensible." ( ruffling Marco`s hair ) Mom
"Only mom loves me. Dad i will need some money only 5-6 hundred... " Marco
"Oh its only few hundred thousands, its okay mom will send to your account when we are finished eating." Mom
"Millions." Marco
"WHAT DID YOU SAY!! Say it again how much ?" Dad
"I said i need 500-600mil, do you need me to spell it out my dear old man." Marco
"What for, if u give me a good reason i might think about it." ( after thinking awhile ) Dad
"Well you see, my friends and me discovered unoccupied archipelago in Pacific so we thought to develop it into Resort city while putting our companies HQ in there. We will go and check it out in few days time." Marco
"When you get data and see the islands i will consider it. I will be sending uncle Nick when you go to see islands. He will be my eyes out there." Dad
"Dad, dont do it he just wants to be a king there...he is lying to you!" Hera

Hearing what Hera said they chocked and looked at Marco who just shrugged his shoulders like nothing happened. His father already agreed so it didnt matter anymore. But when he heard name uncle Nick, his expression became extremely cold, his expression was very similar to his mother`s when she is angry. Unfortunately no one at the table noticed it, that look only lasted for few seconds, but they all felt shiver down their spine. While he was plotting how to put his "uncle Nick" down he finished his meal and went to call his friends to confirm trip in 2 days time. They will go to Hawaii first, from there they will board private chopper and travel to their destination.

Two days past in a blink, in that time Mia managed to pull some string to get paperwork ready for signing up after inspection was over.

InterStellar Dominion takes place in futuristic setting with some game elements. Main character Marco found him self back 700 years back in time due wormhole.

Follow Marco and his friends while they are trying to get humankind safe through constant wars in vast universe.

Pedro and Neil sat on the side of the ring in Slum Gym.

They had just finished training for the day and Johan had told Pedro the story of what happened to him in the alley.

Pedro frowned and said, "You know, boxing is great. But for situations like that, sometimes it isn't enough. So some of the guys here go to learn from this man that teaches a martial art called Muay Boran."

Johan searched the fragments of his memory for mention of Muay Boran but couldn't find them. From what he understood his previous self had focused mainly on boxing in the Looking Glass Realm and had only learn't other fighting styles in the higher realms once he finally got accepted into a sect.

"I've never heard of it," said Johan.

"Well," said Pedro, "it is like kickboxing, except they use elbows, headbutts, grappling techniques, swords, joint locks and pressure point attacks. The owner integrated eye gouging and hair pulling into his unique style. It was created for warfare rather than simply sports fighting. Think of Thailand the country it originated from as a country whose entire culture revolves around battle. Even to this day, their national sport is Muay Thai, a toned down version of Muay Boran created for sports purposes."

"So why are you telling me this?," asked Johan.

"Well," said Pedro, "while getting guns is near to impossible here. Swords are possible, especially if you are a licensed Muay Boran practitioner. The Muay Boran gym gives you a pair once you reach a certain level of training. But, because they teach you how to use weapons, if you are jumped by people with weapons, you'll be in a better position, if you strike preemptively. Even if it is a group of people."

"I see," said Johan, "can you show me this place?"

"Sure," said Pedro, "we can go now if you'd like."

"Yeah," said Johan, "I don't ever want to be in that position again."

"Let me introduce you to my friend Sun," said Pedro, "he has been doing it for a while."

As they walked through the alleys to the Muay Boran gym, Sun told Johan stories of the martial art and its tightly intertwined history with the country of Thailand. Sun was a bald stumpy tall Thai man, who was a lot stronger than he looked.

"There was once a Thai prince," said Sun, "captured by the Burmese King. The king proposed that if the prince could defeat seven of his best warriors in a bare knuckle fight consecutively in a fight to the death, he'd let him go free. The Thai prince easily beat them  and the Burmese King was left in awe and let the prince go free."

"What makes this martial art so great compared to other martial arts?," asked Johan.

"Thailand," said Sun, "actively holds competitions that pit people against each other. Anyone, even foreigners can even walk on stage and compete using it. That is how confident they are in this martial art. People who use it in fight tournaments back on earth do very well with it against other martial arts, even though it is usually illegal to use all the Muay Thai techniques because it gets too dangerous. I am talking about Muay Thai alone, not Muay Boran which is much more deadly and powerful. Kung fu and Karate don't have as much existing proof of its efficiency as Muay Thai does."

"I see," said Johan curiously.

"Most people only associate Thailand with prostitution," said Pedro with a laugh, "but in reality the Thais are a strong, proud and conservative bunch."

"In ancient Thailand," said Sun, "they'd tie hemp rope around their hands, rather than wearing boxing gloves and fight with that in Muay Boran competitions. It protected their hands while allowing for them to deliver bone breaking blows."

Johan couldn't help but feel excited to have the opportunity to add this art to his repertoire. He knew it would be an invaluable asset in the upcoming fight tournament in eight months. 

They reached the Muay Boran gym. On top of the door was a sign that said,

Lit up by neon lights.

 Sun guided them inside. They found themselves in a gym that looked much like Slum Gym boxing gym. Sun walked up to a skinny dark skinned Thai man with short black hair.

"This is Kru Bu," said Sun, "A master Muay Boran practitioner."

Kru Bu smiled and said, "Come, join us if you'd like, our class is just starting."

Johan finished the class exhausted.

It had started with a warm up of jogging and stretching exercises for 15 minutes. Next they punched, kneed, kicked and elbowed boxing bags for a half hour. After this, they did soft sparring with each other, while the trainers circulated students and did pad work, where they presented and taught different striking combinations to the students. Then, they did a half hour of clinching and throws. Finally, they finished the class with body weight exercises.

"Wow," said Johan, "that was more intense than any of the workouts I've done before."

"This was just a regular Muay Thai conditioning class," said Sun, "the Muay Boran classes happen twice a week."

"I prefer boxing," said Pedro, "I don't think I have the stamina to double up this and boxing."

"I heard you want to get noticed by a sect at the tournament later this year," said Sun, "Kru Bu will help you get there, but only if you are dedicated enough. He will not waste time on undedicated people. Many sects have offered to take him in, but he chose to stay and teach. This is not about money for him. Its about creating a community that carries on his legacy."

"I am interested," said Johan, "I can see the advantages of being able to spar every day, even if it is lightly."

"Kru Bu has more success stories than most other gyms," said Sun, "many of his students have gotten into good sects, he has many connections because of all the people he has helped. Studying under him will do you good."

Johan continuously trained in MMA, boxing, and Muay Boran day after day diligently. Winning the fights that Guang Chong arranged were difficult, but he continuously managed to do it.  Time seemed to pass faster and faster the harder he trained and he rapidly improved. But even then, he didn't feel like it was enough. But, he had done everything he could. Eventually, the day of tournament sign ups arrived.

"Hey," said Johan to Pedro one day while training at Slum Gym, "The fight tournament is next month, right? Guang Chong hasn't mentioned anything about it to me."

Pedro raised an eyebrow thoughtfully and said, "You should try and enter it without his input. He makes too much money off gambling on your fights. He might not have entered you on purpose."

"You think he'd do that?," said Johan.

"When money is involved people pull stuff man," said Pedro, "I'm going to enter today myself. Lets go together? We gotta be extra careful walking around this month, because people are trying to eliminate the competition. So it is better to go in groups."

"Yeah," said Johan with a wink, "I got my swords with me, just in case."

The lineup was long, emotions running high and fighters numerous. The lineup had at least a thousand people in front of Johan and Pedro. The army had deployed soldiers to keep the peace in case fighters started fighting while in line. The line moved slowly but they didn't want to leave it and come back later for fear of loosing their spot.

"This lineup is long," gasped Johan.

"This is how it is every year," said Pedro, "and this is actually pretty good. I've seen worse."

"What would you do if we had to fight each other," said Johan thougthfully, "that would be weird."

"They won't make us do that," said Pedro, "since we go to the same gym, they won't pit us against each other. One of the few rules I'm glad the government has."

"Johan, is that you!?," yelled a voice.

Johan noticed Pedro turn noticeably pale, glancing behind his shoulder. Turning around Johan saw a tall skinny brown haired soldier standing with a brown skinned solider. They looked familiar, but Johan couldn't place where he'd seen them before.

"I am sorry Sirs if we did anything to offend you," stammered Pedro.

Hesitantly, Johan said, "Theris? Ryan?"

They soliders looked at each other and walked up to Johan.

"Its him," Ryan exclaimed, "you were right Theris."

"You grown so much since I last saw you Theris," said Johan, "and you Ryan, you lost so much weight. Wow. You look great!"

"What happened to you and Neil?," asked Ryan, "we were worried sick, he went to show you and you both never come back."

"Is Neil okay?," asked Theris concerned, "we were asking around about you two, but no one had answers. No one knew. We thought you were dead."

"We got thrown in the pit by Armyka," said Johan darkly, "after we got out, we decided to split up and hide because we knew coming back would be an issue if Armyka eyed us again."

"Director Armyka?," gasped Theris.

"Do you know where Neil is now?," asked Ryan.

"Sadly no," said Johan, "I haven't seen or heard from him since we left the pit."

Ryan sighed, "He was like a brother to us, always there, always encouraging us for three years. He was a good guy, we were so worried. Its good to know he is alright at least."

"Neil was a capable guy," said Johan, "he is probably doing better than all of us now."

"What happened?," asked Theris, "Why did she throw you into the pit?"

"She was in a bad mood," said Johan.

Theris muttered, "We've heard stories about her moods. But she is so strong, no one questions her. She's crippled, killed and destroyed the careers of countless soldiers ... on a whim. You were right to stay away."

"We should catch up," said Ryan, "we can come by after the tournament. We were bunk mates after all and Neil said that made us family. So even if you were only there for less than a day, we'll take care of you."

"Definitely," said Johan, "lets meet at Mama Earth Pizzeria the day after the tournament ends."

"Sounds like a plan," said Ryan clasping Johan's shoulder, "its good to see you are alright, buddy. We thought you and Neil for dead."

Theris looked around nervously, and said, "Ryan, we should get back to our post. Don't want to get in trouble."

"Ya," said Ryan, "we will see you later, Johan."

"Bye," said Johan as they walked away.

Pedro stared at Johan in disbelief, and gasped, "You were a solider?"

"Not really," said Johan, "I was sent to the barracks but was there less than a day before being thrown into the pits."

"Man," said Pedro, "if you didn't get thrown in the pits you'd be living the good life now. If you work for the army for five years, admission into a sect becomes exponentially much easier. Makes you a much stronger candidate. No one wants to cultivate an inexperienced mediocre fighter that hasn't cultivated before. This is why so many fighters of all ages are still applying for this tournament to show off their skills."

"I didn't know that," said Johan, "sounds like the same thing Neil said about hiring managers back on earth."

"You got connections," said Pedro, "from the soliders and the Muay Boran gym, after all this is over  use them."

"Working for the army," said Johan with a sigh, "isn't as glorified as you think it is. Its abusive glorified slavery."

"Better than being poor and weak," said Pedro, "I used to go through garbage cans for food back in home on earth when I was young, that is how poor my family was. Boxing got me money, but then, I became an anomaly. Fighting gets me an apartment, but if you join a sect or army, these fights, one of which can end your career and make you homeless ... are over. You live good, only fight during war time, do civil easy jobs, and have superior training and healing resources. Better to be a privileged slave than what we are now. One average solider, with their mana techniques can easily defeat ten seasoned fighters from here because we don't have any techniques."

Johan's expression dimmed as the reality of life for the average person in the Looking Glass Kingdom became clear to him.

"I guess it is a matter of picking your poison," muttered Johan.

Regarding the side quest for the day, Zhao Yu found it to be quite bizarre. He also though that the tour guide, Han Dewang, was equally strange. But, after he thought about it more carefully, he could understand the tour guide's behavior.
Just as he had mentioned, the thought that Zhao Yu and Su Jinmei were looking for that Thai girl was merely his own hypothesis. Hence, Han Dewang had come to update them on her situation if such was the case.
However, when he realized that Zhao Yu wasn't looking for the Thai girl, he panicked. He was worried that Zhao Yu would blame him for being a busybody. So, he had acted quite anxious.
Although the dates that the Thai girl went missing matched the dates when Miao Ying appeared in the Landing, Zhao Yu didn't think that there was any connection. After all, the Thai girl was still a student, so he just couldn't see how she would be affiliated with Miao Ying.
Plus, after Han Dewang left, Zhao Yu's accumulated points had only increased by thirty-one points. So, the side quest was obviously very ordinary, definitely nothing to be shocked about!
For these reasons, Zhao Yu didn't suspect Han Dewang, nor did he gave much thought to the Thai girl for that matter. After all, his main focus was naturally Miao Ying!

There was a crossroad junction on the west side of the shopping street, and through a surveillance video that was at the turn near the crossroad, they could see that Miao Ying had continued to head west until she disappeared from the video.
Since they had already walked down that entire street while they were procuring the surveillance videos, Zhao Yu and Su Jinmei knew that the street led to the border of a forest if one were to continue to head west past the crossroad junction.
In fact, most of the entire island, besides the Landing, was forest. Hence, the city was on the northeast of the island, and the southwest portion of the island was basically covered with forest.
Due to its unique temperature and environment, not only were these forested lands moist, but they were also filled with miasma. Hence, the lands weren't suitable for humans. Besides the designated workers that labored there, rarely anyone would enter the forests.
On the shopping street, heading west towards the crossroad, there were only a few scattered shops. Once one passed the crossroad, after the shops ended, he would reach the border of the forested land. So, it wasn't impossible for someone to enter the forests from there.
Zhao Yu and Su Jinmei was curious…
What was she trying to do?
During their search, Zhao Yu and Su Jinmei went to the shops near the forest to ask for their surveillance videos too. Due to the area's remote location, two out of the six nearby shops were empty. Of the remaining four shops, two of them had yet to install surveillance cameras, as they had just started their business, and another, which sold honey, had a broken surveillance camera.
In the end, they only managed to get the surveillance video from the one shop, which happened to be the one that was closest to the border. But, due to its location and angle, the camera and its footage wasn't of much help at all, as it only caught that she had walked near the forested area, but nothing else!
So, Zhao Yu and Su Jinmei had no choice but to resort to their second best option. They continued to make speculations about what she had done after reaching the crossroad junction. After about 20 minutes, they finally found Miao Ying in the footage.
Miao Ying was still dressed the same, but she was shown turning to the south at the crossroad! According to the map, the route to the south led to the biggest port in the Landing.
As Zhao Yu and Jinmei were searching along the shopping streets that day, they hadn't manage to head over to the port. So, they didn't know where Miao Ying could have gone after that.
It seemed that the two of them would have to continue to search more clues the following day. However, Zhao Yu had a feeling that Miao Ying had gone to the port! If so, it meant that she might have left the Landing. If she had, it would be difficult to find her in the future.
But, Zhao Yu was also puzzled by this…
So… Miao Ying wandered around in the shopping streets, then went near the forest. Then, she just left? What was she trying to do?

However, even though Zhao Yu looked through them all very carefully, he still couldn't find anything. Finally, around two in the morning, Zhao Yu felt his eyelids drooping and finally turned off his tablet and prepared to go to bed.
Just as he turned off his tablet, the miracle adventure system in his head sent him an ending notification and started blinking. As he hadn't found any conclusive clues, Zhao Yu was certain that he wouldn't get too high of a completion rate for his Kan Gen hexagram that day. However, when he activated his system interface, he was surprised to see that the completion rate was 142 percent!
Seriously?
But, there didn't seem to be anything major that occurred! Why would the completion rate be so high?
He opened his device bar and saw that he had received a very impressive device. It was called the Invisible Disguise Machine. After activation, it could change his appearance for a short period of time!

The Li Consortium had to purchase such food commodities from the Qing Consortium on many occasions. Although they also grew these crops, their own supply was inadequate.
Every organization placed a great deal of importance on agriculture. But it didn't automatically mean that the land they controlled would be suitable for growing such crops just because it was a priority for them. Nature would not bend to suit human will.
Soon after, Tang Zhou and his men returned with a lot of sweet potatoes in their arms. Not many people would dare to refuse the request of the Qing Consortium when they saw their soldiers approaching them with guns and offering to buy their sweet potatoes. Moreover, the Qing Consortium was not lowballing them.
