First day in the new school
-My mommy.
"No luck, but a miracle I need." I murmured.
A little later ...
The lady went to the desk, left the bag and asked,
-You are our new student, right? Come on.
- My name is Christina Nelson. I think it does not concern you where I come from. They chased away from my old school, because I broke a boy's nose.
All eyes were in me. A girl came into this memo. It looked like an awesome Angel. Her lady signaled to sit.
"Do you want the place to be free?" She asked me.

That's how it all started ...
Love, hopes, dreams, fear ...

Early February, the temperature is still cold and the weather is a color Sheen would describe, pale blue. It's a color that makes you feel the coldness and the warmth that the sky will make you feel. 

Light clouds surround the vast sky which mixes with the sun's Ray's during sunset and sunrise. 

Sheen covers her eyes while looking up, covered in a fluffy cream-colored jacket, she is on her way to pass an initial plot for her new novel this coming December. 

Before her college graduation, she had two national awards for writers: Best Teen Novel Writer and Influencer of the Year, from a single book that she was writing during her college days. 

Her books are like new series shown on the television, it catches everyone's attention. 

It becomes a talk in the street and a trending hashtag, it is something that everyone knows. 

But not everyone knows the author's real name since she only publishes with her pen name: Sheen. Only her co-workers, family and friends know who she is, Sierra Haley Eureka Ellaine Neomi Verrez or Sheen. 

With her not-very-long-name, not only she chooses Sheen as her public identity, but it is also to keep her own world on her hands and her writing world to the outside. 

As she walks to her office, she stumbles upon a familiar face.


Someone she would not want to see but is dying to see. 

The irony and the contradiction, makes her heart beat thousands faster than normal, her face burns a higher degree, her whole body stuck at the last movement. 

The person who made her that way saw her pathetic state but for some reason, didn't react and made his way out of her sight, as if she was not there, as if there was nothing to give attention to.

 After some time, Sheen had collected herself and continued walking, but her mind got stuck to the pair of eyes she saw and missed so badly which made her forget where her office is and found herself in front of the mirror while tears are flowing from her eyes. "I still..." was the only words that she uttered, incomplete yet full of the feeling she keeps. 

Pain, love, and longing. 

She wiped her tears with some tissue she has and retouched her makeup to hide the redness around her eyes. She then went to her office.

"Sheen, a lady whose heart was broken by a man who she loved the most, is a famous national author. The books she writes are about romance yet she never really did experience romance itself. We made a call with the author of Leaving on a public plane to answer some questions." 

The television echoed around the office when she arrived, the interview she had yesterday is now on air. 

Since she is an unknown writer, they have decided to just have a call interview instead of going to the show. 

She silently seats down as her co-workers watch the show. 

"So, how come you have never been in a romance? You told us in your last interview that you have been in love before yet here you are, an untouched romance novelist."

She remembered how that question made her feel yesterday, it questioned her view of herself about her relationship with her first love. 

Many didn't understand what she said in her last interview. "Let me clarify that, yes, I fell in love. But I was the only one in love. 

You see, romance is something that is created from two individuals who shares and feels the same. 

You can't have a romantic relationship with someone who doesn't feel what you feel." As the words penetrate her ears, she smiled. 

Those were something that she would write in her novels. The pain of unrequited love from a romance writer.

Sheen, a famous book author of romance and a victim of unrequited love, finds herself in need of true romance for a new novel. She stumbles upon young men while thirsty to create the novel she needs to write, she jumps from one romance to another to create the perfect romantic book she can ever write.

Alam ko ilang daan beses ko na po itong sinabi pero sasabihin ko pa rin. BUONG PUSO PO AKONG NAGPAPASALAMAT sa lahat ng mga readers na tumangkilik at sumubaybay mula umpisa hanggang sa huli. 

Naiiyak ako kasi tears of joy na natapos natin ang TRILOGY! At kasama ko kayong lahat sa pagbuo ng story ni Lexine at Night. 

My goodness! Ito ang pinaka-tini-treasure ko sa puso ko among all the Novels na naisulat ko. Most likely MBIAGR will always be my favourite. Marami na din akong nasulat dati sa Wattpad. For some reasons, I stopped writing for four years. Tapos dinilete ko ung mga stories ko dun kasi puro pabebe at 'teen fiction' LOL.

Anyways, ang dami kong emosyon at effort na binigay dito. Yung mga brain cells ko nag-work out ng bonga-bonga para makaisip ng mga plot, twist, at kung ano-ano pa to give you guys a satisfying story. Kayo talaga na mga readers ko ang inspiration and motivation ko to do better in my craft. Masaya ako kapag nababasa ko ang mga comments and reviews niyo. 

Kasi, I felt that I had served my purpose. Huwaw! Hahaha! 

Yung may napasaya kang tao, na-inspired, napangiti, na-touched ang puso nila, sa mga panahon na malungkot sila, nandoon ka. You gave them light and hope, out from their infinite forlorn! Mga ganern! Charrr! Hahaha! 

Sa pagsusulat ko na-i-express ang mga bagay na nasa utak ko. Through writing I was able to open up the things in my head and share it with other people. Alam niyo ba, sa tuwing sinusulat ko ang mga scene, pini-feel ko talaga. Like kung galit, masaya, nakakilig, nakakatawa, nakakatakot, nakakainis. So isipin niyo na lang gaano ako ka-BIPOLAR sa totoong buhay. Wahahaha! 

But seriously, I put all my emotions in this novel. Para mabigyan ng buhay ang emotions ng mga characters, para madala ko kayo sa mundo nila, kaya ma-detalyado ako magsulat, yung mga pag-ri-research at panunood ng youtube videos para masulat ko ang mga actions scenes. Hahaha! Pati na rin love scenes. Pero karamihan dun based on my personal experience! Wahahah!

Kaya sana kahit paano napasaya, napaiyak, napangiti at na-touch ang puso niyo ng story ni Lexine at Night. Sana, may mga natutunan din kayong lesson in different aspects of life. Sana I was able to deliver it well. Alam ko may mga palya din ako as an author, marami pa akong kakaining bigas at dapat na matutunan. Everyday I continue to learn and explore my writing skills. Para sa mga susunod pang nobela ko ay mas makapagbigay pa ako ng mas magagandang kwento.

"Kids!" tawag ni Athena sa mga bata saka hinila si Cheska palayo habang sinenyasan niya si Dan na sumunod. "Gustong makipaglaro sa inyo ni Kuya Rey!"
Parang stampede na nagsitakbuhan at mga bata papunta rito. Napahalakhak na lang siya nang kuyugin ito ng mga bata at maglambitin sa braso nito.
"Ikaw talaga masyado mong pinagdidiskitahan ang asawa ko." Sabi ni Cheska.
Ipinagkibit balikat na lang niya 'yon ayaw naman kasi niyang sabihin na kaya ganon na lang ang pakikitungo niya sa asawa nito dahil sa naging ugali nito noong una nilang pagkakakilala.
Hindi niya kasi matanggap na ganon na lang ang tingin nito sa mga bata sa ampunan. Kahit na ba sa tingin niya ay nagiba na ang opinion nito hindi pa rin niya maiwasang pagtripan ito paminsan-minsan.
"Ah, pwede mo bang ihatid si Dan—" pareho nilang nilingon ang binata na ngayon ay kinukuyog na rin ng mga bata. Hindi niya maiwasang matameme na ngumingiti ito habang nakikipaglaro, ang gwapo nakakainis.
"Hindi na pala kailangan." 
Sandali niyang pinanuod si Dan, hindi niya kasi akalain sa pagkakakilala niya rito ay mahilig ito sa mga bata. Dagdag pogi points na naman ito sa kanya, hindi niya tuloy maiwasang isipin kung nagkaroon na ito ng sariling anak.
Teka lang kung saan-saan na naman umaandar ang utak niya. "Cheska sa may kusina lang muna ko."
Mabuti pang lumayo siya nang konti at mawala ang nandedemonyo sa isip niya. Mahirap nang mabuko ang awkward kaya 'non at nunca tatagal siya sa ganong scenario.
Hindi niya tuloy napansin ang mga matang nakasunod sa kanya hanggang sa nakarating na siya sa kusina at doon ninabala na lang niya ang sarili sa pagtulong sa mga tao na nandoon.
NATAPOS ang event na walang Renz na dumating sinusubukan ni Dan na kontakin ang cellphone nito pero hindi naman nito sinasagot.
Napapalatak na lang siya habang sinisimsim ang cocktail na ngayon ay inilabas na ng mga tauhan niya.
Pang umaga kasi ang mga party para sa mga bata at ang panghapon ay para naman sa mga volunnteer at tauhan ng orphanage na ang mga naroroon. Kasalukuyan siyang tahimik sa isang tabi at pinapanuod lang niya ang mga nagkakasiyahan staff pero kahit na hindi niya aminin ay palaging nakasunod ang tingin niya kay Athena.
Bawat galaw at kilos nito ay hindi niya nilulubayan ng tingin, ang akala nga niya mapapansin nito ang ginagawa niya pero hindi naman.
Siguro hindi lang niya maiwasang ma-fascinate sa dalaga, ibang-iba kasi ito sa mga babaeng nakakasalamuha niya.
Aaminin niya he dated girls for the past few years but not of them last because of the flaw he sees in them.
Pero si Athena kung ano ang gusto nitong sabihin ay talagang sasabihin totoo walang pagkukuwari.
Aminin man niya sa unang pagkikita ay talagang abot langit ang pagkaasar niya sa babae. They say first impression last pero habang nakikilala niya si Athena ay may kakaibang tungkol ditto na nakakuha ng interes niya.
Parang isang bagong ingredient na ina-analyze niya kung papaano niya mahahaluan pa ng mga sapat na sangkap para maging masarap na dish.
"Hey." Napukaw lang ang tingin niya rito nang marinig niyang tinawag siya ni Rey. "Kanina ka pa nakatulala diyan ah."
Hindi na lang niya pinansin ang komento nito at itinutok lang ang tingin sa isang babae.
"You know I like her."
Marahas na nilingon niya ito para tumanggi nang makita niya ang pigil na tawa nito.
"Gago." Asik na lang niya para pagtakpan ang pagkapahiya. Hindi niya akalain na bigla siyang magre-react nang ganon napansin din niya 'yon nang sabihin ni Renz ang interest nito kay Athena.
Ano bang nangyayari sa kanya? Bakit ganon na lang ang reaksyon niya pagdating kay Athena?
"Hey I'm just joking, man, no need to be offended." Anito saka tinapik siya sa balikat. "But hey it's my first time seeing your reaction like that."
Hindi na niya ginatungan pa ang gusto nitong sabihin dahil sigurado siyang hahaba lang ang pang-aasar nito sa kanya.
Noong unang beses na makilala niya ito ay masyado itong obsessed na patunayan ang sarili sa mga tao na nasa paligid nito bilang nakakabatang kapatid ni Ryan na madalas ikompara rito ng mga magulang.
Pero ngayon ang laki na ng ipinagbago nito at sigurado siyang dahil 'yon kay ni Cheska. Ang kaso ay masyado naman itong nasobrahan sa pang-aalaska lalo sigurado siyang impluwensya 'yon ni Renz.
"Para sa isang kakilala lang ni Athena masyado kang nakikialam sa buhay niya." Pilit niyang pinapatag ang boses kahit na ba sa pandinig niya ay parang may nakakalason sa boses niya.
"I'm just fond of her as a little sister, ganon din naman kasi ang trato sa kanya ni Cheska dahil parehong only child lang sila sa pamilya besides hindi ako pumapatol sa babaeng trip din ang babae."
Napakunot ang noo niya sa huling sinabi nito, babae? Lesbian ba Athena? Pero may boyfriend ito kaya imposible ang sinasbai ni Renz.
"Anong pinag-uusapan niyong dalawa?" napalingon isya nang marinig niya ang boses ni Athena habang inaalalayan nito si Cheska papalapit sa kanila.
"Pinaguusapan namin kung anong preference mo sa mga babae." Nakangising sabi ni Rey.
"Kalalaki mong napaka tsimoso mo." Ingos ni Athena.
"It's called information gathering."
"Iniglish mo lang ang pagkakatagalog ko." Binalingan isya nito. "Sir wag kayong magpapaniwala sa kalokohan ng alipin na 'to."
Ito ang unang beses na makita niyang makita ang reaksyon nito parang nag-panic bigla. Kung tutuusin naman ay pwede nitong sakyan na lang ang kalokohan ni Rey pero masyado itong naging defensive.
"Bakit hindi mo man lang inilagay sa resume mo kung ano ang preference mo? wala kaming diskriminasyon against LGBTQ Community."
"Sir, naman eh sabing hindi nga ako lesbian ehh." Lihim siyang napangiti.
Kilala niya ito bilang bubbly at sarcastic kaya hindi niya maiwasang gatungan pa ang pang-aalaska ni Rey.
"Then how can you prove you're not really a lesbian?"
Sandaling nagisip ito bago nito hinaklit nito ang kwelyo ng polo shirt niya saka ito tumingkayad hinalikan sa labi.
In that mere second he felt his time stops, the softness of her lips and her warm body near him. Baka kung narinig lang ngayon ni Renz ang kung anong umiikot sa utak niya baka tinawanan siya nito as if his own description came out from romance novels.
Pero kung gaano kabilis nagumpisa ang lahat ay ganon din kabilis itong natapos.
"Ayan, Sir siguro naman magandang katibayan na rin 'yan." Mahina pa nitong tinapik ang pisngi niya. "Sa susunod Sir, wag kayong manghahamon lalo naman at mapagpatol ako ngayong araw."
Napakurap lang siya rito parang hindi pa rin mag-sink in sa utak niya kung anong sinabi nito.
Habang parang walang epekto ditto ang ginawa nito sa kanya, doon na isya tuluyang nabalik sa wisyo. Hindi niya maiwasang mainsulto na wala man lang itong reaksyon samantalang sa pagkakaalala niya walang sinumang babae ang mangangahas na mang-agaw ng halik sa kanya nang hindi man lang nagkakaroon ng reaksyon.
Kusang kumilos ang katawan niya saka ikinawit ang braso niya sa beywang nito. "That's not a proper kiss, this is."
Gamit naman ang isang kamay ay hinawakan niya ito sa batok at ginawaran ng isang halik.
Noon pa man hindi na siya maihilig kumain o makatikim man lang ng kahit na nong matamis na pagkain, pero kung ganito ang nalalasahan niya sa simpleng paghalik niya kay Athena hindi na rin sigurong masamang kumain ng matamis lalo na kung labi ng dalaga ang matitikman niya.
Hindi na niya alam kung ilang minuto ang lumipas pero siguro nang mapugto ang hininga nila ay saka lang niya nagawang pakawalan ang labi nito.
"Nice!" sabay-sabay silang napalingon nang makarinig ng isang pamilyar na boses.
Sa unang pagkakataon ay pinapapasalamat niya ang presensiya ng pasaway niyang kaibigan kahit papaano ay nawala ang atensyon sa kanila ng lahat.
Bumalik ang tingin niya kay Athena, pulang-pula ang mukha nito at tila nalilito kung anong gagawin.
Pero sa huli marahan siya nitong itinulak saka tahimik na tumalilis ng alis. Hindi na siya nagtangka pang sumunod rito dahil sigurado siyang hindi rin niya ito makakausap ng maayos.

NADIA LUCIA

Pagkatapos ng break up ni Athena sa dating boyfriend ay nagresign at nag-apply siya sa isang sikat na restaurant bilang patissier. 
Pero paano na lang kaya kung malaman niya na ang lalaking tumulong sa kanya noong minsan siyang malasing ay ang siyang may-ari ng restaurant? 
Magagawa kaya niyang makapagtrabaho ng maayos gayong mukhang may crush siya sa masungit na amo? 
Pero kakagaling lang niya sa isang bad break up ano ang susundin niya ang utak na nagdidikta sa kanya na wag na muling umasa o ang pusong nagsasabi may panibago na naman itong tinitibok? 
Hala anong gagawin niya?

With a lighthearted atmosphere, the three delved into knowing each other more; gone was the previous feeling of agitation of making sure that the first impression wouldn't end up in turmoils. 

Han Taiyi was doing most of the talking while Chu Lizheng would occasionally add something to her stories and nod when she would look at him for affirmation. 

Lillie listened earnestly as Han Taiyi tells her of the things that happened in the academy since she left and gratify her questions with almost truthful answers.

"So, for how long were you married? How did you two met? Do you have children already? Oh my god, are you pregnant—not to be rude or not that I'm saying you're—"

"One question at a time." Chu Lizheng was quick to cover his friend's mouth before she could complete what she was about to say. He came closer to her ear and muttered, "You were being rude."

"I'm sorry!" 

Chu Lizheng resisted the urge to facepalm. 

Lillie laughed, "No, no, it's alright. To answer your questions; we've been married for almost a year now—"

"Oooh! Newlyweds?!"

"—and he's actually my childhood friend—"

"Aww, so romantic!"

"Taiyi, don't cut her off."

"—we have no children and I'm not pregnant yet, sadly." Lillie finished, not bothered by Han Taiyi's interposes between her sentence. 

Her last answer seemed to have saddened Han Taiyi. Well, Lillie had casted a crestfallen expression that's why she did, too. 

The expression was, by far, the most genuine one she ever made since she wore this fake face. 

"Don't worry, you and your husband are still young and new to marriage life. People will understand that you two are still on the honeymoon phase. They wouldn't expect you to have a kid early...maybe." Han Taiyi beamed, trying her best to send her positivity to their new friend. 

"Don't add maybe." Chu Lizheng sighed. 

"Anyhow, I'm sure you'll be blessed with one soon enough! It's guaranteed—just do more of that bedroom—"

"Alright, Taiyi." Chu Lizheng covered her mouth once again. "I'm sure she already knows that part."

Lillie observed their relationship with amusement. The smile that she kept on her face the whole time didn't feel heavy anymore as she finds herself genuinely enjoying their company. 

She likes these two.

"Speaking of which, where is your husband?" Han Taiyi noted just now that the other talk of the town was missing. 

"He's at our cabin, he'll join us shortly."

"His name is Jun Jihuo, isn't it? I don't think I've heard of his name in the Academy before." This sentence just proved that Han Taiyi was one of the people who was eavesdropping earlier at the harbor because Lillie haven't said Ethan's fake name to them yet. 

Han Taiyi realized her slip-up as her breath was stuck in her throat and heat crept to her face. In her mind, she was crazily pulling her hair and spewing all of the very, very colorful words she knows. 

Thankfully, Grand Disciple Life spared her from further embarrassment and didn't pried into it. "He didn't attended the Academy." She said. "His family moved at another country to pursue his study on business management."

"Aw, that's a shame. You two would've been the cutest couple at school—"

"If the school ever allows it, that is." Chu Lizheng chimed.

Han Taiyi's head dropped. "Ay, you're right."

"But you guy's love story is really romantic!" Han Taiyi gushed, holding her face dreamily. "I would like that kind of love story with my future hubby too. Imagine being separated from your childhood friend, who was also your first love. Then when the two of you reunited after many years, the flame of love persists to burn brightly. And while catching up, you two confessed your undying love for one another and decided to get married! It's as if it came straight out of a romance novel."

"You might've changed a few details and exaggerated the story too much. Also, who would marry a brute like you—oof?!" Han Taiyi karate chopped Chu Lizheng's side. 

"I wasn't talking about Ah Ming's love story! It was from a book I read before." Han Taiyi glared, her hand clenched into a fist. "And who are you calling a brute, you sissy boy?!"

Lillie was silent. 

Unnoticeably, she bit the inside of her cheek—but not out of anger, rather, out of sheer amusement at the accuracy. Her's and Ethan's love story really did came from a cheesy romance novel she read once when she was a teen—with, more or less, details rewritten to make it sound realistic and believable. 

While they were brainstorming an anecdote for their fake background, that certain book just popped up from her mind. Lillie thought it was perfect, so she adapted it.

It was nice to know that this new friend of hers share the same interest of her young self. Hmm...reading those kinds of novels again was actually not a bad idea, now that she think of if. She could probably get a few...lessons that might help her 'tremendously' improve her relationship with Ethan.

“Mr. Li, please keep your hands to yourself.” 

“You’re my wife, so why won’t you spoil me a bit?”

“You want me to spoil you?”

“Yes.”

“Then here’s my credit card, go shopping.”

“...”

An aloof man married an even more aloof woman. Ethan Li struggles to make his wife fall for him while Lillie Bai struggles to free herself from his ‘clumsy’ hands. 

“If you don’t get your hands off me, I’m going to cut them off!”

“But then I won’t get to keep you warm!”

Balin school went, as usual, people were whispering again and some were bold enough to say on the face, some people liked my mother's personality. After coming to my dorm I simply felt to see something else I am too much addicted to the GOH show, so today I watched cartoons whole evening and again I got a pop up of the show it was a gossip column, they were headlines about Conrad and Brenda Rauch that how these days they have become close, then they wrote about 80's romance vs today's romance. I twitched my eyebrows. They were comparing them with Sukhwinder and August, no wonder in the morning one girl asked me how my mom was when she was young. In the comment section, most of the people felt that my mom doesn't go near him on her own accord but neither disapproves Kent's approach, below that line the blogger had rounded on the photo of Sukhwinder and Kent where both of them are seen talking and if you look closely the rounded part, Kent was playing with my mom's dupatta (a long scarf). I hit my head against the pillow what the hell they were thinking.
Then on the show, two actors and director of the upcoming Bollywood movie 'Madhya Ratri' came for promotion,  they gave a simple task for fun, they all have to form pairs on their own and create the scene of bride and bridegroom in their own style. Everyone made their own pairs, Conrad paired with Brenda and they both simply just wore the costume and cuddle with each other. Megan Covington being a horror movie director paired with Daniel LIn where she wore a white bridal gown and did the makeup of a zombie and Daniel wore his chef costume, the scene was like this that Daniel is standing with a large spoon and Megan had hugged from behind making the chef scared. Same way Angella Brooks holds her paintbrush and Dilljit Gill took the microphone in his hand, they made a scene where Angella is painting and Dilljit is proposing to her by singing a Punjabi song. Anjali Reddy paired with religious guru Amit D'Souza both played the role of intercultural marriage where Anjali wore a typical Indian bride wearing a red saree and Amit wore a black suit, Vishal Mathur and Amy Calvert both of them wore the gothic style wedding dress and both of them posed on a bicycle, Kent and Sophie Miller paired up both wore normal wedding outfit showing simplicity and elegance, Kento Kimura paired up with Sukhwinder where he dressed as a nerd playing with a dupatta of Sukhwinder, Keiko Nakama paired up with Satomi Toda as lesbian pair, Eito Oguri paired up with Adam Birrel as a gay couple, Peter Kadoje with Benu Mensah as 1 and 0 couple.
The winner of the game was Vishal Mathur and Amy Calvert for their gothic style, while the first runner up was a tie between gay and lesbian couples. As Vishal and Amy won the game they were chosen leaders for the next segment of the next episode.
The comments were nasty towards Japanese artist Keiko and Eito for portraying lesbian and gay couples, especially Keiko got a lot of vulgar comments for being a porn movie producer. Many people even criticized Japanese culture, but there were people who spoke that lesbian and gay couple is reality and it is a good thing they have portrayed them.

Everyone! It's party planning time!"

"Eh?" Dani asked with confusion. Party planning? What for? Was it someone's birthday?

"We are throwing a super duper amazing party right here at the Mystery Shack tomorrow night!" Mabel explained while the everyone listened with blank expressions.


 
Dipper finally decided to ask for the reason, "Mabel, I don't get it. What's the party for exactly?"

"Because Dani's staying dummy. Grunkle Stan approved it and everything!"

"Wait hold up." The ravenette interjected with a wave of her hands, "You're throwing a party for me?"

"Yes, why do you sound so surprised?"

"Uh, no reason it's just a bit of a shock is all. I didn't think my staying was all that of a big deal." She shrugged her shoulders.

"Well it is! And that's why we're inviting other people too."

"Like who? I don't know anyone."

"Dani you know Wendy's friends." Dipper pointed out and remembering this, she nodded in agreement.

"Sure...but that's about it."

"Exactly!" the eldest twin exclaimed loudly causing Dani to jolt slightly, "We can use this to introduce you to everyone! For example, you still haven't met Candy and Grenda."

Ah, Candy and Grenda. Mabel had mentioned them when her and Dipper gave Dani the tour around town, but she never did get to meet them in the end.


 
"Ooh, I first met them at a party and now you will too! It must be a sign that we'll all be like, best friends or something."

"Maybe." They'd have to see when Dani actually spoke to them.

"Hey Hambone, we don't want to overwhelm Dani with too many people." Soos piped up and the girl mouthed a 'thank you' at him.

"Come on it's just my friends and stuff."

"Dude, Soos is right. Candy and Grenda is obviously okay but other than that, let's only invite like, the other people you'll actually see a lot. So no random people in town." Wendy continued.

"It would be easier if there aren't too many strangers there." The Halfa added her two cents to help convince the girl. Honestly the idea of having to meet so many people was unthinkable for her. She hoped the tween understood.

Mabel chewed her lip for a moment before looking at Dani and grinning, "Okay, if it makes you happy! The party's for you after all and you do still get to meet my friends."


 
"Yeah, well that's sorted. What did you want us to do now?" the ravenette asked a little hesitantly. Knowing Mabel, she might've wanted crazy lights and brights colours. RIP epileptics.

"I am so glad you asked." She turned her attention to the rest of the room, "Everyone! here are your lists." She skipped around handing everyone but Dani a list.

As they all received their lists, the each pulled an awkward expression.

"Oh cool, I don't have to be on entry duty this time." Wendy remarked after a moment with a grin.

"Yep! I know you hated that last time and I want everyone to have fun, so nobody has to do it because entry's free!"

"FREE?!" Mr Pine's voice bellowed from a nearby location and he marched into the room not a moment later.

The kids in the room held back chuckles at his anger.

"Please Grunkle Stan. It's for the sake of everyone."

He pouted and planted his fists on his hips, squinting at everyone before returning to Mabel.

"Just this once."

The girl squealed and clapped her hands before running towards him and hugging him tightly, "You won't regret it."

"Come on! Come on! Everyone, last minute arrangements must be done! The star of the show will be here in T-minus any second now!" Were the first words Dani heard upon descending the stairs. Immediately, she located the one who was speaking. Mabel of course.

"What's happening now?" She expected her arrival to scare the girl but to her surprise, Mabel barely reacted.

"I told them you'd appear. Also, I'm so glad you asked." the brunette turned to cup her hands by her mouth, "IS EVERYONE DONE?" She shouted.


 
Dani winced at the volume. Of course her super hearing amplified Mabel's voice...

A 'yep' a 'yeah' and a 'yes' were returned to the girl's question.

"Then Soos hit the lights!"

Barely a second later the room was plunged into darkness. Fortunately Dani's eyes didn't begin to glow but instead something cooler happened. Kinda.

Soos turned the party lights on so that the room lit up again, but with dots of an array of different colours that flashed randomly around. A disco ball hung in the middle of the ceiling, reflecting the lights and further bringing a magical effect to the lighting. Colourful banners decorated the walls and for some reason, confetti covered the floor. But the best part to Dani was a load of snacks and drinks spread over three tables.

"Mabes, you did good." she announced proudly.

"Psh, you flatter too much. Now, the guests will arrive in like five minutes so go get changed!" the sweater lover ordered.

"Changed? Why can't I just wear this." Dani gestured to her signature outfit that had recently been repaired.

"Because, it's a party."

"...Okay fine, but I'll have to borrow something of yours." She pointed out before reluctantly returning back upstairs.

"No problem! I'd say make it good but I know all of my clothes are good!"

-19:46 PM-

A good 30 minutes into the party, Dani had so far only been introduced to one person, an old guy going by the name McGucket who had been shown to her by the twins. She found him to be a bit of an oddball but well-meaning. He also seemed to have a history with the Pines family.

The ravenette had to admit she was being fairly anti-social but she didn't really feel like approaching anyone yet. Plus, it wasn't as easy to do when there were a lot of people around her. At that point, she was only talking to Mabel in the hope's that she wouldn't be forced to go up to anyone just yet.


 
"So, this party is pretty fantastic." She cracked a wavering smile, but she couldn't deny being impressed at the amount of happy people and the number of dancers.

"Fantastic is my speciality. Along with awesome, amazing, brilliant, super, and an assortment of other words." The brunette joked with a grin.

Dani shook her head, "I don't disagree."

"You know, me and Dip-Dop are gonna have a super party like this when it's our birthday!"

"It's August 31st right?"

Mabel gasped, "Is being psychic one of your powers?!"

"No, Stan told me."

"Sweet, we'd be in the same school year." I realise much to my delight. You know, if I went to school.

"Great!" She gasps, "Wait, I don't even know when your birthday is either!"

"December 5th."

"That makes you...8 months older than us?! Oh man that's over half a year." She pouts.

I pat her on the back and smirk triumphantly, "And I'm still a teen and you're not."

"No fair. At least I'm the Alpha twin." Mabel pouts.

"Alpha twin?"

"Yep, I was born five minutes before Dipper."

Even though she also already knew this, Dani still felt as though Dipper fit the role of older twin better due to his less...reckless behaviour and more protective nature. She would know, she got that impression from Danny.

"Well" she perks up, "hate to abandon you at your own party but I'm gonna hit the dance floor. You should go mingle D."

"Oh Mabel you think, but no."

She chuckles, "You never know what will happen 'til you try. That's why you always try."

"Yeah, yeah." I wave a hand dismissively as she disappears from my sight.

And mingle with who exactly? Who would she go to first that wasn't already busy?

Her blue eyes dulled as she scanned around at the nearby party-goers lazily. There's wasn't exactly anyone not pre-occupied so she began to wander around a bit instead. Until she came across one person she could talk to.

A certain blue vested boy.

"You good there Dipper? You look a little out of place." The ravenette joked good naturedly once she reached him.

"Uh..thanks? I'm just waiting for someone. She said she'd come if she could."

"She? Oooh, you got a girlfriend Dipper?" Dani teased and leaned forwards, wanting to know more.

"What? No." Even with the flashing lights, she still managed to catch his blush. "She's just a friend. Why does a guy being friends with a girl automatically mean they have to like each other?"


 
"That's not true, take me and you for example. We're just friends."

"True."

"So, who's the girl?"

"Oh, you're not gonna drop it then?"

"Nope."

Dipper sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, "...Her name is Pacifica okay?"

"Pacifica..." The Halfa tapped her chin in thought, "Why do I feel like I recognise that name?"

"Mabel's probably mentioned her, or you've seen her in a newspaper."

"'She famous?"

"In this town."

Well good on Dipper for catching someone famous...and likely rich.

"Dani!"

I hear Mabel calling me from the other side of the room. Seriously, she tells me to go talk to people and decides to call me back not even five minutes later? I hope she doesn't want me to dance, that would just be embarrassing, both for me and the people around me.

"Well," She started, preparing her exit, "good luck with your girlfriend."

"She's not my- oh never mind."

The ravenette spotted her friend talking with a short Asian girl and a larger girl. They turned her way as she approached.

"Dani, I have two very important people to show you. This is Candy and Grenda. Ta da!" The sweater lover gestured at each respectively, a grin on her face threatening to split her lips.

"Hello, it's nice to finally meet you Dani." Grenda said with a surprisingly gruff voice.

"Yes, Mabel has told us a lot about you." Candy continued.

"Likewise." The Halfa responded casually.

Then the four went silent. No one knew what to say next. Dani scratched her neck in discomfort.

Mabel suddenly coughed into her fist as her smile wavered, "Come on you three, why don't you talk about your interests!"

"You guys like Alternative Rock?" She asked, trying to help Mabel in breaking the ice.

"We both listen to Pop and Heavy metal." Candy responds.

"Heavy metal ey? That's cool I guess. Any particular bands?"

"If you don't listen to Metal, you probably wouldn't know."

"Um okay. New topic! Reading material. Comic books, normal books, manga, genres. Discuss." Dani didn't really know what information she wanted or needed but she'd start with some basics to try to figure out their personalities and if they would ultimately clash with her.

"Sure, we read." Grenda answered somewhat sassily.

"Yes, especially romance novels." The two glanced at Mabel and devolved into a fit of giggles. Said girl shoved them both with embarrassment and chuckled nervously.

"Tell no one, especially not Grenda's mother."

"Got it... Uh, if that's all I'm gonna uh, go talk to some other people."

"But you've just met these two." Mabel pointed out with a tilt of her head.


 
"I know but I need to meet the rest too right? I'll be back later." The Halfa promised with a grimace before zipping away into the crowd once again.

"Dani!" The brunette called after her, but she ignored the girl.

The Halfa reached the food table and grabbed some punch before leaning against it. She was very much aware of the way her departure from the girls had been rash but she wasn't relating to Mabel's friends. The conversing was getting dry. Mabel's friends didn't seem like they'd be interested in the same things as her so what could she have said? Romance novels? Blergh.

"So, what's got you down party girl?"

"Oh, hi Wendy." She noticed the older girl's ginger hair out the corner of her eye, "I'm good actually."

"You sure? You seem to be hanging with yourself which is a little odd seeing as though this party's for you."

"Yeah well, it's just...I don't know where to start. Who to start with. I've never had so much attention on myself from this many people. I'm used to...blending in, not standing out."

"I get that." The red head drank some punch, "But if I was you I'd just do it. I know it doesn't seem as easy as that but just try saying hello first, you don't need to plan what to say, a conversation should just come naturally. Besides, you're Dani. You're the bold mischievous kid that we all love."

The younger teen smiled up at her with appreciation, "Thanks Wendy, you always know what to say."

Wendy returned the smile and ruffled her hair, "Go kid."

"I'm a teen." Dani smirked.

"Yeah, whatever."

The Halfa shook her head before forcing herself back into the crowd, directing herself towards a more populated area. She spotted two people talking and figured she could start with them. As she manoeuvred over to them, she took a deep breath. Time to say hello.

The two men halted their conversation as she arrived.

With a wave, Dani introduced herself, "Hi, I'm Dani," she started, "I hope you guys are enjoying the party."

"Oh you're the star of the day, well congratulations! And yes, this party is fantastic. I'm Tyler by the way." The smaller man giggled.

"And I'm Manly Dan! Yeah!" The much larger man punched his fist in the air. Dani admired his enthusiasm.

"Aren't you Wendy's dad?"

"You a friend?"

The ravenette shrugged, "...I think so."

"Your name is like mine and you're friends with my daughter..." He tapped his chin and the girl shuffled on the spot wondering what he was about to say, "Okay! You're good in my books!"

"Right." Dani nervously pointed a finger gun at him with the hand not holding the cup of punch and backed away. She honestly felt a little frightened of the guy but she wouldn't say that out loud, "Continue to enjoy yourselves then."

She breathed a sigh of relief as she swung around to find someone else to say hey to, but in her haste, the Halfa bumped into someone and the drink left her hand.

"Watch where you're-OH MY GOSH. Did you actually just spill that on me?!"

...And landed on their outfit.

Romance is a very popular genre in Webnovels. The first thing that come to mind when we talk about romance are the CEO novels. Even though we don't want to admit it, they are the mainstream romance stories in the Webnovel website. 

So why do people love romance stories? I hope you find the answer while reading this chapter.

Elyon knew that "Romance" is not his strong point. He writes a fantasy story with romance, but he can't tell if the romance will be able to attract female readers. Out of curiosity, he asked some of his fellow authors the question "Why do you read romance stories?"

Here are their answers…

Kyosei: Because I am single. 

Reili: To fill my empty void of a love life.

Minrei: Because romance let you feel what is to be loved, plus it is universal you dont need to learn magic or cultivation in order to read.

Bajj: Due to lack of romance irl.

Murakami: I read because I enjoy the friction and conflict between the FL and ML. The insistence vs resistance is naisu.

Qin: I reads romance only for ideas and info.

VlassisBehrakis: I don't read romance novels.

[A/N: Oof I asked the wrong person.]

Elyon then  ̶a̶m̶b̶u̶s̶h̶e̶d̶ asked some readers about their opinion about romance novels.

Yin: I read romance novels because I want that kind of drama to happen to me in real life. But I know it will never happen haha.

A Certain Irresistible Meowlin: I wonder why? And I do read romance novels. Though the chance of me dropping them is also the highest out of all the genres. Every so often I come across a scene that makes me just want to squeal and fangirl.

Elyon decided to dig deeper and asked a few of his senior "romance authors" some questions about their reason for writing romance stories.

The first question is… Why did you choose to write Romance Stories?

Anjeeriku: I'm comfortable writing romance stories compared to other genres. I'm a helpless romantic person and I like novels that can invoke other people's feelings.

Bajj: First of all, I like reading romance story. It was the reason why I read books before and reading other genres comes after. All in all, due to these romance fiction books, I got the opportunity to read more great books with different genre.

MishaK: That's what I read, so write that too.

Zehell2218: Because as reader, I want to read romance novel so when I write, I write romance since my motto is I write what I want to read.

Ikazainudin: The easiest genre. Everyone can relate.

End_of_Era: It wasn't a full on Romance, it was slice of life with romance which I feel was necessary with progression of the characters.

The second question… When you were making your ML and FL, did you imagine yourself as the lead of your story at any given point in time?

Anjeeriku: I would be a liar if I said no. There were instances that I'd put myself in my FL's shoes. Whenever that happens, my writing feels more passionate and truthful that sometimes it was hard to know where my fl starts and where I end. 

Shen Yi, LMD's ML was based on a person I've lost, The One That Got Away so it was sometimes hard not to self-insert whenever there were scenes that need to invoke feelings from readers. 

Bajj: I believe that every character the author was making and breathing life into it, a part of him/her is added to its character. But me imagining of being the ML/FL, never. I'm too pure for that. Kek

MishaK: Yes I did but sometimes. Otherwise you can't infuse emotions in your characters. It is important to understand your characters.

Zehell2218: Yes, I imagine myself as the lead. Of course, I tweak it a bit, such as in age and appearance. But mostly, the characteristics is similar to me.

Ikazainudin: FL and ML character based on what I want to be irl. Yup. I imagine that will be my love story.

End_of_Era: Yes, my leads had some ocassional self insertion.

The third question… If you were to choose some other genre aside from romance, what would you pick?

Anjeeriku: Fantasy. I always look up to those authors who can write fantasy stories/novels well. I believe writing a fantasy novel is harder than writing romance.

Hello Guys! I hope you enjoyed this chapter of WWCG. Personally, I've read a few CEO novels myself. I also read some FL stories like A Slight Smile Is Devastating (Love O2O), Hidden Marriage, Doomed to be Cannon Fodder, Transmigrator meets Reincarnator, A Mistaken Marriage Match: A Generation of Military Counselor, There Is an Angel in That Church (short story), Eight Treasures Trousseau, Grabbing Your Hand, Dragging you Away, A Mistaken Marriage Match: Record of Washed Grievances…

Ai~ there's a few more that I won't add to the list because it will create a wall of text. Well anyways, the reason why I read these stories is to get an idea on "WHY" the ladies love to read them.

Let's just say that it's a unique way to see a world in the eye of a lady (if you are a man of course). When done properly, the execution of the story can capture the hearts of anyone, even male readers. I believe that no matter what gender you are, as long as you find the story interesting then it doesn't matter whether you are a guy or a gal no?

Perhaps, when I'm not too busy to write my stories, I'll once again pick a romance novel to read. Hopefully, I will find another hidden gem that will bring unexpected surprises to anyone who are lucky enough to find them.

It's me again, Lemon Grenade. After creating the story Reincarnated into a Shingle Sea Urchin, I realized how fast I did things and how I didn't put much effort into the story. I've spent my time thoughtfully contemplating on how to improve myself this year before I came up with a new story.

I originally promised another story that involved aliens and game elements, but I got extremely lazy during that time and temporarily gave up. But I've been working on others in secret during my silence. This time I came up with one that's unique and something I'm willing to invest more time in compared to my first one which was a prototype.

This time I won't try to speed run things. I'll try to put effort into the storyline and plot. I'll try to personalize characters and put effort into them. Unlike the first time, I have a relatively good path that I plan on following. Yes, I said that for my first novel, but complications rose so I ended it prematurely.

But I won't start releasing chapters for a while. If I do, the pressure will bring up my habit of speed running things. Once I've completed a portion of it that I've deemed satisfactory, I'll start releasing chapters.

I have reasons as to why I chose the main character to be a female.
The first reason is because I feel more enthusiastic when the character I'm imagining is female.

The second reason is because I'm tired of almost all the female Wuxia/Xianxia novels that I manage to find and read. It's very hard (and rare) to find a legit cultivation novel with a female protagonist that cultivates seriously.
Almost all female cultivation novels have a main male character that goes after them. It results in a lot of romance and little cultivation. The same could be said to multiple male characters going after the single female protagonist. It just results in too much comedy and romance, with little cultivation time taken seriously.

Examples would be Genius Doctor: Black Belly Miss and The Demonic King Chases His Wife. Although I've read the first to 300 and the second to 500, which isn't the whole, I stopped because of the romance. Although yes, there was a period of time where they separated, but even then, cultivation wasn't really taken seriously. 
(Correct me if this changes past what I've read. I'm kinda judging, but what I've said is mostly true for what I've read so far. So you can't blame me)

The ones that I can really appreciate are Kumo Desu Ga, Nani Ka? and The Good-For-Nothing Seventh Young Lady.
The first one has almost no romance with the female character and is all about evolving to become stronger in order to survive. 
The second does have multiple males going after her, but she takes cultivation very seriously and puts in effort to cultivate. If not, she's usually doing important business stuff or figuring out problems. She's not even in love with any of the male throughout the entire story, only friendship. It's extremely slow romance as she slowly falls for a guy that only has a soul, but has a personality that I like very much.

You can find plenty of male cultivation novels, and a lot of them are famous. Almost all of them seriously focus on cultivation; pursuing the Dao with not a lot of romance. Even the ones with female leads still do cultivation seriously even if the male protagonist falls in love.

But NO! When it's a female, the cold and dark world of cultivation suddenly becomes all happy and vibrant! It's all about the male guy! Yes, I have seen darkness and coldness in female cultivation novels like the ones above, but definitely not as much as one with a male MC. It's like the whole world has to be nicer just because the MC is a girl!

For male MC's, most of them struggle to the top. They have to work their way to advance by slaughtering enemies and using them as stepping stones in pursuit of the great Dao. They always severely injure themselves while approaching the brink of death just to survive. There's always gore, evil, and darkness that the MC has to traverse through while maintaining their sanity.

But NO! It's different for a female MC! They do struggle, but definitely not as much. Enemies are slaughtered and used as stepping stones, but I've never seen a female have a Dao they want to pursue. Yes they injure themselves, but definitely not as bloody and gory. Life or death situations are way less compared to the latter. Things are seemingly brighter with a female MC.

The best part of it all is that they're buffed with their seemingly harsh past life. Almost all female MC's in cultivation novels have OP medical skills, assassin skills, and military skills from their past life. I've never seen a female MC cult. novel where she was originally born in a cultivation world and has to work her way up. I've seen several male MC novel's like that, but no female.

Yes, I know male MC's are like that too, but not a lot of them actually have the female tropes. A good portion of them are just male MC's who are in high school or college, or just an average worker. They have to learn harsh things and go through mentally insane things. On the other hand, females are granted buffs and don't start this way out when they arrive. (Correct me if there is a female cultivation novel like that)

In conclusion, the males usually have the tough life while the females can just relate to their past life to get things done. Not to mention getting help from the leading male(s) character(s).
 
You really can't sympathize with the female MC's suffering in their past life as they usually do a brief overview of what their other worldly harsh life was like (sometimes male as well). The males usually have to go through hardships throughout the novel which immerses the reader (most of the time).

Well, as a person who believes in gender equality, this is a frustrating problem for me. I just wish there'd be more novels where the female has to suffer hardships physically and mentally like the male trope does without the buffer and external help from their lover. I also just wish the female would pursue the Dao and not crazily fall in love.

I know you're all saying, "But Lemon! Those novels are to catch readers that love romance!"
I know! But do you think all males and females like romance cultivation novels? 
"But these are all romance cultivation novels!"
Where's the action filled, Dao pursuing cultivation novels with female MC's?!
Where's the female MC's that pursue a lonely road of cultivation like the male MC's?!
I bet there's tons of female and male readers wanting more action-packed, little romance female Xianxia/Wuxia novels!

To make matters worse, they make the males personality traits very annoying to other males! Only the Seventh Young Lady has satisfactory male traits including the leading male.

Yes this all sounds sexist, but hear me out. 
I know some like the romance part, but as a person who loves action-filled novels, the romance part isn't all that big for me. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy romance ones as well, but only if the MC is a male and the romance is kept in check and not exaggerated like the female ones. Very rarely will I enjoy a male lead in a female cultivation (Seventh Young Lady).

Yes, I am using past life experience for the female MC, but that's because I'm lazy. I can understand why the others use this buff of their female MC's, but apparently it's easy for the male and not for the female.

Phew! I've let out enough of my pent-up emotions. Let's end this rant about inequality towards male and female MC's.

I will try to do as little romance as possible in this novel and keep cultivation serious. There will be a little, but I don't know if I'll include a handsome male lead or multiple male leads. It all depends on the direction of this novel.

Soojin and Suji was dumbfounded when they heard Mrs.Yong voice. They had no idea when she came. 

" Madam Yong." Suji greet Mrs.Yong. 

" Ayaa.... Suji you don't have to call me madam. Call me auntie. Sit down. " Mrs.Yong pull suji to sit beside her. 

"Thank you Auntie." Suji sweetly smiled. 

"Suji, You're such a beautiful and gracefully woman. Not like this spoiled Bart. You're married and successful. Teach something to this girl."Mrs.Yong point to soojin while talking. 
 
"Just adopt her" Soojin asked 

"Good idea" Madam yong said in amusement as she was thinking she should have done it beforehand. 

~puff~ Suji tried hard not to laugh. Every time when soojin get scold from Mrs.Yong she find it hilarious. 

Soojin knit her eyes in disbelief. How can she insult her daughter in front of her friend. 'My mother's impossible.' 

"GO and asked butler to prepare snacks for suji."Mrs.Yong ordered her daughter. 

Soojin went to the kitchen. Only two women left in the room. 

Mrs.Yong looked at Suji with questioning eyes. Mrs.Yong seems to have many questions but she don't have courage to ask. 

"Auntie! Do you have something to say?" Suji find awkward with the look. 

Mrs.Yong cleared her throat before asking. "It's true that soojin is le....le....sssss..."

Mrs.Yong was happy to hear that her daughter wasn't lesbian. "Are you sure?" 

"Yes, Auntie. We are friends from childhood and I can say that she isn't lesbian. When she was teen she used to check out boys. So don't worry." 

After hearing suji, Mrs.Yong sigh in relief.'Thank you my lord. My daughter is straight.' 

"Why? Why she isn't willing to marry?Anything happened to her? Like break up or cheating?" Mr.Yong asked suji with hope that she can answer her. 

"Auntie I am not sure about it."

"What aren't you sure about?" Soojin exclam from door. She bought snack and drinks.
